Family Solutions Center regarding a
report of employee

you okay so you came across some uh
irregularities I assume in your books we
did we did so um last Thursday um I
identified a irregular cash transaction
that I didn't um um sync up to our
normal payroll um and when I dug into it
it turned out that it was a extra
special payroll that went through to our
payroll clerk um done by herself for
$5,000 um when I looked into it a little
bit more um I found there were about um
what do we say eight other
transactions that what she had been
doing over the previous so nine and all
yes
two three four five six seven yep and
this is for you to keep nine
transactions so one was the $5,000 most
recent one that happened on
Monday um was when the payroll went
through I caught it um identified that
it was regularity looked into a little
bit more found the other eight that she
had been going back to um October of
last year where she was paying herself
um vacation sick um basically PTO type
time um we she was not taking the time
is that correct but she was paying
herself for it so um on her normal
payroll she would bump up her her salary
to pay herself for this time that she
has um what's her title so accountant
account
so she's a payroll account and she used
her access to then generate
fraudulently give yourself time that you
didn't actually use or take correct yep
okay so um I can give you a high level
of this so this is a spread this is all
for you to keep thank you this
information over here is the pay dates
and what was taken so she paid herself a
total of 177,000 more than what she
should have um and then this is our
Fringe and tax liability portion of that
so it cost us 1,500 bucks on top of that
so we're looking at 195 in total and
then she has some um company-owned
assets at home the total one was 9.90 of
monitors and type of stuff so she works
from home um occasionally occasionally
she would she currently there or
currently here um she has been
terminated okay so she's aware this is
going on correct well she know she's
been terminated she's whereare there's
she's aware that we know yes um I don't
think she knows we're getting you guys
involved um so that's a total amount she
has really so far not been cooperating
we had scheduled a meeting with her for
yesterday afternoon to
officially in in person give her the
termination uh we were going to try to
see if we could get her to sign an
authorization form to allow us to uh
withhold her payroll check which is due
this
Friday as partial restitution and we've
been working with our employment lawyer
uh he had developed a cogn promisory
note to see if we could get her to sign
that to make
restitution um we were going to present
that with her yesterday she ghosted us
didn't show up didn't call
we called her this morning and uh got
her voicemail as expected she didn't
answer the phone um left a voicemail for
her confirming that she's terminated
however we need to still talk with her
to clear up some details including we
would like to have our equipment
returned as well as make arrangements
for her to pick up her personal items
from the office okay so she has an
office stuff here and stuff at home
some personal property here and Company
equipment at home correct facilate some
sort of exchange so we're trying to
touch base with her we have not been
able to connect with her since I spoke
with her Monday to schedule the
appointment for yesterday and summary
the woman manipulated payroll records to
exploit sick leave PTO and vacation time
effectively paying herself without
actually using the time this scheme
involved a total of eight transactions
six in 2023 and 3 in
2024 beginning on October 6th
2023 the transactions amounted to
$17,900 with individual amounts ranging
from $950 to
$55,000 Additionally the business
incurred
$1,500 in taxes and fees resulting in a
total Financial loss of $119,500
furthermore upon her termination she
failed to return $1,000 worth of office
equipment increasing the business's
losses following the investigation the
officer contacted a nearby Police
Department in an effort to locate the
woman the department successfully
located her and arrested her without

on I don't know what I'm charged with I
don't know what they're saying I

exactly what I have but tell me in your
mind what you think's going on I paid
myself out hours my vacation
hours last year and they just and then
there I
did a payroll that
reversed and that's then then they
figured everything out and so I was
supposed to meet with them yesterday at
3:30 and I did because s to my job and I
I guess I don't know if they were going
to plan on picking me up yesterday
andone they didn't say that they were
doing any I didn't know anything well
they called me today I worked yesterday
not call me yesterday you call me today
I'm explain everything that's going on
so right now what we have is going to be
10 charges all right um one is tampering
with records how did I okay because it's
through the payroll computer software
it's an official document register to go
through taxes and stuff like that so
it's going to be that's just how it's
written up all right that's going to be
the highest level charge is a felony 3
all right there's going is going to be
then there's nine payroll charges you
that were done I'm thinging you did but
there were nine payroll charges done
over since um October 6th or something
right um and any I think division of
four or five I can't remember which
one's which but anything over $1,000 is
a felony felony 5 anything under $1,000
was um minor misdemeanor one or
misdemeanor one all right so I think I
know there split four and five can't
remember which way is which um I know
they're all real close to 1,000 except
for this last one which is pretty big um
other than that so they called me today
find know what's going on and as the
talk went in this is what they I'll
chose to do um so that's why we're here
so since Co falls out of the house ofia
and here we
are okay um what happens from here you
go to the county here um you get booked
eventually you'll be ar rained in the
cor I don't know it goes in people who
get um booked in the county so I don't
know order that that's going to be up to
them and their order um and then
eventually it'll be set for trial and
released and there we go
today all this is going to happen today
you'll be to what's going to happen
today is once we're done um this offic
right here has been driving to the
county you'll be booked into the county
all right and then next day or two
today's Wednesday next day or two you'll
be sit in front of the judge all right
I'm staying in jail for the next two
days the next day or two so you could be
R in the morning I'm staying the night
in jail tonight yes you will they told
me when they picked me up that I wasn't
for that's what's going to happen
that's like they call that's kind FS
yeah okay so you're going spending the
night oh my
God oh my gosh please oh my God oh my
God I'm going to be oh my God so what
happens from here it's going to be up at
the time frame of the county and the
judge who gets a sign all
right oh my God
you anything else to say any the
questions anything help answer for

um just so you know they're also
concerned about the the equipment you
have at home I have a monitor making it
happen I was coming there hold on you're
not being charged with that just let you
know that's something that they're
concerned with eventually all right so I
even put in the report there that
something concerned with but is not
listed being considered being stolen or
anything like that because you had
permissions to use it from home okay
just keep in mind don't break it don't
destroy it don't comp complicate things
when you have I would hold on I was and
I understand you have like an office
full of things of your own too there so
why I told them say let tell you is when
you're ready when you have the
opportunity to gather their belongings
have somebody record you as you gather
their belongings right so that way you
show it's not broken or damaged or
destroyed and then you can call one of
us and we can do we can help fac
facility property exchang there that way
they can't say you broke anything damag
anything and vice versa okay how do I
have to stay in jail for something like
this I didn't Hur somebody I mean this
is crazy I've never been in trouble in
my entire life why do I have spend the
night in jail for this I will I will
