I'm stopping you cuz well, so you were speeding, but you actually made a weird turn. You actually turned right from the center lane. >> I'm uh just trying to make a bad a little bit late. So, um >> you're just trying to make a bad home. >> I live in Shber. So, um >> Okay. >> You're Where you trying to go home from Shamber? Where are you coming from? >> Um I'm coming from uh Rainwood. I'm driving with mom's car right now. Okay, cool. Cool. Uh, do you have insurance for the car? >> Um, I do. >> On August 1st, 2024, at approximately 1:31 a.m., Officer Joshua Rosenbig with the Lake Bluff Police Department observed a 2007 Toyota Rav 4 being driven in an erratic manner on Rockland Road. He began following the vehicle and observed the driver exceed the speed limit and turn without signaling as the vehicle headed northbound on Waggan Road. He activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop and the driver eventually stopped in the vicinity of Foster Avenue. After the driver pulled over, officer Rosenberg initiated contact with the driver who was identified as Tanner. You said you're coming from Ringwood. What is that? Okay. So, that's not insurance. It's actually like a piece of driver's license kind of. Yeah. You bring your mama from the airport tonight? Tomorrow? Tomorrow? Gotcha. >> I could also call her on the phone. >> Yeah, I'm just Okay, that's >> No, that's just like a change of address thing. No. >> No. You're good. You're good. So, you're on the way home to Shamburgg. >> 54 seconds. >> You just went You say you're from a friend's house? >> Yes. >> Yeah. Just see if she has insurance. Okay. >> Copy. That's good. Tanner seemed incoherent while exhibiting indicators of impairment. She told officer Rosenberg that she was headed back home to Shamburgg after leaving a friend's house in Ringwood, but the GPS in her car indicated that she was headed to Fountain Square. She was also asked which bar she was coming from because she was wearing a wristband, but she only admitted to being at the Mckenry County Fair earlier that day. She also admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that evening. Based on the odor of alcohol and her inconsistent statements, Tanner was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises. Okay. Nice one. Is she looking for the insurance or? >> Yeah, she's looking for >> Okay, cool. >> All right, give me a sec. Okay, I'll be right back. >> Sounds good. >> Um, if you don't have insurance, I'll fer you a ticket for it, but otherwise has it. She just has to work it up right now. She got to stay, but she's she's fine. >> Okay, cool. Sounds good. Give me a sec. Okay, >> let me see if she has insurance. [Music] people. >> I'm just like dealing with like >> so that works for >> um what bar >> I'm not coming from. get the response. >> Um, so I went to Mac Fest earlier. I like um got this from there. >> Okay. >> I wasn't there too long, but I did get >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. >> No, I just want to make sure you're okay to drive. >> I'm I'm okay to drive. It's like >> drink when you were there. So, I was the the fastest ended at like around like 900 p.m. I got there around like 700 p.m. So, I kind of just like had like the one the one trip and I was there. >> Oh, you're okay. No worries. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, here's here's the thing. You're >> you're driving is >> I'm just trying to get there like I got you because I am up like a little bit of ways away from home. >> Yeah. Like >> Yeah. I grew up with my mom. So >> So you're you're driving kind of a little funny. >> All right. >> It's like late as night. I'm trying to get >> Can you can you prove to me you're okay to drive? >> Yes. Come on. Come on out real quick. Prove me you're okay to drive. 204 out on fields and uh 207. >> Yeah, just come out. >> Yeah, just come out real quick. Um you can leave that in the car. All right. >> Yep. Just come out over here. Can you meet my partner right over there? All right. Give me one sec. Okay. >> Like I said, I just want to make sure you're okay to drive. >> I'm I'm good to drive. I like but >> I know I got to be a ways away and I get it. It is my mom's car so like I understand like the plates and everything. >> No, and I'm worried about that. I just want to make sure you're okay to drive. Like I said, the driving was a little funny. >> I get it. I know. >> You don't know where you're going. You're doing circles. >> I was just like um looking at my phone. I was trying to look at the GPS and like see like am I still on the right track? Am I following you the right way to go? So >> no, that's that's fine. I mean like I like I said if you're >> Yeah. I'm not like super familiar with the area just because it's not like my like you know stomping grounds. It is a little bit a ways away. So >> yeah, totally fine. Um I just I saw your GPS and it said you had something. It said Fountain Square, which is Walk Keegan. >> Walk Keegan. No, I was heading towards um Shamberg. Just like >> you head for Shamburgg. >> Just to do you have any idea where we are right now? >> Um >> if you had a guess. >> I was so I was on my way home from like Ringwood. Uh >> where where's Ringwood? I Is that >> like sort of like by Mckenry? So >> on your way home from Wait, you were on your way home from Mckenry >> like around that area. Yeah. >> Okay, cool. >> So that's why I have like my Noair, but that was like a while ago. >> I know you said you went to the Mckenry Fest. >> Mhm. I did. >> Okay. So you got to Mckenry Fest at around 7. >> Yes. >> And then how much did you drink there? Um, I had like one drink while I was there and then like I went to a friend's house in Ringwood which is like somewhat by like kind of by Mckenry. So like that was kind of my plan which was was like kind of like go to the to the fair, stay there a little bit and then like I went to a friend's house and then like right now I was trying to just like find my way back home. Um, it's not like a straight shot. That's why I kind of had like my GPS. I was like looking at my phone. I was like kind of making sure like am I on the right track? Am I all good to go? >> Yeah. The only question the only reason I questioned uh where you were coming from is you said you were in Mckenry which was like >> uh so my my route was like Mckenry Fair to Ringwood to Shamberg. That's like what was my >> and Ringwood is by Mckenry. I've never been in Ringwood. I don't know where it is. >> So it's about like 20 minutes away. I headed back around so it ended at like 9:00 p.m. I headed around like 8:40. So, it was like about like a 40minut drive. Um, 20 minutes from Mckenry to >> Okay. >> Ringwood. So, >> cool. No worries. Okay. So, long story short here, I'm going to read you through a couple things. You prove to me you're okay to drive home, I'll get you out of here. Okay. Perfect. >> All right. Give me I'm going to read you a couple instructions. The first field sobriety exercise was the horizontal gaze nestagmus HGN test. The second exercise was the walk and turn test. During the walk and turn test, Tanner did not touch heel to toe on each step, turned improperly, and failed to keep her arms at her sides. The final exercise was the one leg stand test. During the one leg stand test, Tanner failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and put her foot down before the test was complete. >> One second. Okay. >> Mhm. >> All right. So, what I'm going to ask you to do is for this whole thing, you're just going to be facing my car. Okay. >> Okay. I'm facing my car. >> Go ahead and put your feet together like that. >> Like just >> like like this. Put Yep. Put both feet together. Put your hands on your side. Okay. Hands to your side like this. Okay. Good so far. All right. I'm going to ask you to follow my tip of my finger with your eyes and your eyes only. Okay. >> Okay. >> Don't move your head. Follow tip of my finger with your eyes only. Do you understand? >> Yes. No. No head, just eyes. Okay. Got it. All right. You doing okay? >> Mhm. >> All right. So, we'll do that one more time. You know, same thing. Follow the tip of my finger with your eyes and your eyes only. Keep your feet together. Arms at your side. Okay. Try your best to keep your head still. [Music] >> Okay, let's refocus. All right. Face me. >> Mhm. And then just keep your head just like this and follow your eyes. Okay. >> Yes. Hands side for me. Okay. Central from 127 23. Heat. Heat. All right. Cool. Not bad, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Cool. >> So, for the next test here, I'm going to ask you, you going to keep your arms hands and feet to your side. Okay. Just like this. >> I'm going to provide a demonstration of this next test. Okay. And then you're just going to watch. Okay. Just sit stand there. Watch. I'm going to pro provide a demonstration. Okay. Sure. So >> when I say so, you're going to imagine that there's an imaginary line. That line goes from here to my police car right there. All right. >> Okay. >> You're going to go ahead >> with my little crocs. Okay. >> Yep. With your little crocs. Uh you can take them off if you want. You don't have to. Oh, just stay >> I won't. >> Okay. Here. Just stay like this for now for me. Okay. >> All right. You're going to take your left foot, put it in front of your right foot, and then Oh, give me one sec. Okay. >> Mhm. >> All righty. So, you're going to take nine heel to toe steps, >> touching your heel to toe each time, >> counting out loud, and you're going to look down at your feet. Okay. >> So, I'm going to demonstrate with three nine. >> Yep. You're going to take nine. I'm going to take three to demonstrate. >> Starting with my right foot. >> Uh, left foot. Yeah. All right. But give me one sec. Okay. I'm going to demonstrate. >> Good. I'm going to straight and I'll follow along with you. >> Yep. So, I'm going to count out loud. One, two, three. I did three. You're going to do nine. Okay. >> Okay. >> You're going to keep your foot planted there and you're going to do a turn like this, but keeping your foot planted on the ground like that. >> You're going to take another nine heel to toe steps. >> Okay. >> Starting with >> Yep. I'm going to do three. So, one, two, three. Okay. And then you're done. I did three steps. You're going to do nine. >> I will do nine >> whenever you're And then hold on one sec. One sec. Hands at your side. Heel to toe. Go ahead. >> So, one, starting with my left foot. Yep. >> Two. 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 That is 9. I can continue on if you would like me to. >> Well, just follow just follow the instructions that I said, of course. Do do you remember what I the instructions after that were >> um after the nine? Yes. Do you want me to >> to go beyond the nine? >> Well, so remember with my instructions I said you do nine and then what do you do after those first nine steps? Do you remember what I told you to do after those first nine steps? >> Um I just remember you said the first nine steps. >> Yeah. So you're going to take those first nine steps and then you're going to turn around and you do nine steps back. So, another nine. Yep. Basically, so starting with my left foot again. >> Yep. And then just do nine steps back. >> Nine. So, one, three, four. >> Try to keep your arms to your side. Okay. >> 6. Okay. You're good. backwards. >> Um, so last test is I'm going to have to have you do this. Okay, hands and feet at your side. >> Hands at my side. >> All right. I'm going to demonstrate this test once again. You're just going to watch and then you're going to do when I'm done. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, you're going to take your foot, whichever one you want. Doesn't matter. >> Left or right, whatever you feel more comfortable. Okay. You're going to take your foot. You're going to raise it about 6 in above the ground. Just like this. Okay. >> Mhm. So, you're going to keep that foot parallel to the ground, raise 6 in above the ground, hands and arms at your side, and you're going to look down at your toe. You're going to count out loud like this. 1,00 1 1,002 1,003 1,004. And you're going to keep going until I say stop. >> Okay. So, starting at 1,00. >> Well, starting at Yeah. 1,001. >> 1,0001. >> Yep. And then you're going to keep counting in that fashion until I tell you to stop. >> And I can start at either >> whichever foot you would like. All right. Whenever this shape here, arms down at your side while you do this. Whenever you're ready. >> All right. I'm on sports mode. So, um, and then either foot and then just start. >> Yeah. Either foot. Keep your hands at your side. Look down at your toe. >> Okay. 1,00 1,002 100,004 100,0008 100901234789201 1,022. >> You're actually >> Wait, so remind me just see. I just want to recount the events. Um, you went to my calendar. >> Uh, yes. Around like 8:00 p.m. right before kind of like a little bit before. >> Okay. And then you had how many trips there? >> Um, just one. I just had the one. Um, so I had like a card list which was like their sponsor for the day. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, um, I had the one. And I like looked like a little baby goat. I did, you know, the whole thing. >> Got a little baby. >> Um, would you be willing to So, at this point, you're you didn't do I'm not going to lie. You didn't do super well on this test. >> To prove that you're sober to drive, would you be willing to give me a breath sample to prove that you're under our legal limit to drive? >> Can I talk to my lawyer first? I don't know where like where I'm at right now. I just want to like if if I didn't do good, I just want to make sure that like I'm at like, >> you know, I want to I want to watch myself. I want >> I totally I totally understand. Um so where you're at is right now we're on the street and I'm deciding that you are not okay. Okay. So >> following the field sobriety exercises, Officer Rosenberg offered Tanner an opportunity to take a preliminary breath test PBT, but she declined. >> The breath test would either would confirm or deny my suspicion that you are above the limit of 008. That's where we're at right now because based on my observations, um, >> you have >> Oh, thank you. Um, like I said, based on my observations, there's a lot of things that are causing me to think that you're a little bit over the limit here, okay? And I can't let you drive over the limit, but if you can prove to me that you're under the limit, I can maybe find you a safe ride home, okay? Otherwise, we're going to go back to the station. That's where we're at right now. So, totally up to you. Um, not going to force you anything you don't want to. Um, but would you like to do a breath sample? >> Um, I'm going to I'm going to take a phone call. I want to like do like >> based on her erratic driving, her admission to consuming alcohol, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises. Officer Rosenberg placed Tanner under arrest for driving under the influence. After she was handcuffed, Tanner was searched by Officer Madison Pollster with the neighboring Lake Forest Police Department and placed in the patrol car. Sergeant Alex Vander Lindon located a pipe while searching her vehicle incident to arrest. The officers seem to believe that Tanner was a working girl and that was probably why she was lying to the officers. >> You know I will um >> Okay. So thing is we can do a phone call at this station. Okay. Cuz at this point it's going to be the triple station. Okay. >> So just put your hand on your back and the rest of the phone. >> Uh one second. I just want to like go on my phone first. You can you can do it specifically. It's >> more procedural stuff. It's more procedural. We get you your phone and everything else. >> Wait, hold on. >> What's up? >> Like I said, you >> I'm going to I'm going to ask you at the station again. And so at the station, we have >> so right now >> what he's holding is a preliminary breath test. It means it's something that we could use on the street, >> but at the station, I'm going to ask you to blow again. It's up to you if you don't want to, but like I said, >> I was watching your driving for a little while. >> I was just trying to get home quick. I know. I get it. I mean, I I'm a long ways away. >> And I'm not trying to be mean and not trying to do anything. >> I'm I'm literally trying cuz right now you're not going to make it home to Shamberg. You're going to crash. If you drive If you drive home to Shamberg, you're going to crash. >> All right. >> Did that go over? >> Yeah. Mhm. >> Yeah. I can't I can't in good faith let you get in a car and drive because something's going to happen to you. All right? You're not driving at this point. Okay? So, like I said, right now, we are going to the station. All right. For driving under the influence of alcohol. >> All right. Um I do have a female officer in route to hedge down stuff. I'm not going to do that. We have a female officer in route. Okay. Um is there anything in the car that you absolutely need? Phone, keys, wallet, >> anything like that. >> Like my phone. >> Your phone. Okay. >> Mhm. So, he's going to grab that. Okay. >> I know I have I know I have your ID. Do you have a wallet or a purse in the car that you want? >> My purse. >> Let's go on the sidewalk. Traffic. >> Yeah. Come on this way real quick. Okay. >> I just want you car. Just uh are these your keys you need? Right. >> Mhm. >> Is there a purse? >> Is Is there a purse or anything else you need? >> Where's the Where's the purse in the car? >> Um it should be in the passenger. >> Passenger side purse. 20 round. So before you jump in my car, >> you jump in my car. Just going to grab something real quick. She's just going to check your pockets. So, if you have anything on you that you shouldn't have, Dr. uh drugs, knives, anything like that. All right. >> Nothing that's going to stick me, poke me, stab me, nothing like that. >> No, uh sharp objects. You are all good to go, ma'am. Okay. You don't mind? Can you separate your feet just a little bit for me? >> Mhm. >> Thank you. >> You're done. >> I'm just going to check your hair. You don't have anything. Is this like a extension? It's like It's a wig. >> A wig? >> Okay. Do you have anything inside the wig? >> No. Okay. >> Is it your blue hair that's underneath? I saw cuz I saw that driver. >> My short hair is like like blond. >> Saw your driver's license picture. >> Okay. You got nothing in your bra or anything like that? No. Okay. Check the back. Okay. No worries. Go ahead. Any personal property in here? I don't want to drop any jewelry or anything like that in your pocket. >> No. They'll check your shoes on the way back. Okay. >> Okay. >> Oops. I'll check the box. Something >> I see that. Yeah. What's in your back pocket over here? >> Which one? >> This one over in the >> Don't touch it. Just my phone. [Music] the tractor. I just thought it wasn't change or anything. Nothing in your way up here. >> So, when you sit in the back of the car, obviously handcuffs are not uh they're not uh super comfortable. So, just try not to twist your wrist around and they won't be too bad. Okay. So, we're going to go in the back of my car right here. Okay. So, if you can walk this way right back a little bit further. >> So, going to have you jump in here. I will light it up for you. Okay. Give me one second. So, here. Go in there. Put your butt. >> Is that someone inside or >> the car? >> Yeah. That's how we're getting to a police station. >> Yeah. So, lift your Oh, put it in. All right. My bucket up here or no? >> Yep. Absolutely. the station. It's like a 5minute drive. We'll get back to the station. I'm going to get some basic info about you. I'll give you your phone. You can make a phone call. Okay. All right. Give me one sec. I'll be right back. [Applause] >> All right. Here's your pipe weed and your shake all over. Uh, I think she's a working girl. >> Um, there's condoms and everything else and everything. >> Yeah. So, um, and that's maybe why she's so confused cuz she's being vague to you, but she's definitely messed up. >> Yeah. >> Um, so any I'll finish this. >> That's just a just a pipe. There's no >> I haven't finished. All right. >> I I only made the passenger side where I started. >> Okay. >> So, if you guys need I can respond back to your station. >> Yeah. You know what? If you wouldn't mind, let her do this. Yeah. She can do a more thorough and then uh >> just cuz she has something hidden somewhere. >> Yeah. >> So go pick her in >> everything. >> Yeah. Let me grab her uh wallet up here. >> Sorry. Do you have everything? >> Should be What happened? >> Do you have another phone on you? >> No, I have my Apple Watch. >> Oh, your Apple Watch. I'm like, I thought I had your phone. >> No, you're not in Mckenry. You're >> in the Lake >> Bluff. >> When we get back to the station, I'll give you the address and everything and directions if someone wants to pick you up. Okay. 204 >> 204 >> one female back to the station. Starting mileage when ready. >> Yes. >> Go ahead. >> 54 554.4 54 554.4 >> 3 hours. >> Yes. I don't >> I got pulled over. >> I don't know, babe. I just need you to hook me up from the station. [Music] I know it's a whole lot to process right now. I promise I'm going to answer all your questions at the station and I'll explain everything. Okay. [Music] Keep on the destination. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. 204 ending. mileage. >> 54 556.7 54 556.7 >> 207 Oh, that's your phone music. Those fit the whole magazine. >> This is a different stuff. station. >> Yeah, right. >> All right, Tanya. So, same thing, but reverse process. You're going to jump out. Okay, we unbuckle you here. There. Watch your head. Watch your feet. Okay, got it. Careful. Tanner was transported by officer Rosenberg to the Lake Bluff Police Department for further processing. Officer Rosenberg read Tanner the warning to motorist form as well as her Miranda rights, but she refused to speak with him. When the machine was ready to accept breath samples, Tanner refused to speak, so officer Rosenbeck interpreted her silence, her refusal. Tanner was later fingerprinted and photographed before being released to her husband pending her court appearance in the Lake County courthouse on August 23rd, 2024. >> You're just going to walk towards me. Can you hang out right there for me? So, make sure you didn't drop everything quietly. Right in there. Actually, have to get right there. So, this door, there's no sensor. So, don't stand in the middle of the doorway. Okay? Or else that door will lock. So, come on out in here for me. All right. I'm going to uncuff you. All right. You turn towards me a little bit. this way. Thank you. All right. Of course, I'm just not. Okay. Second. All right. All right. Slip that one off there. All right. Um, can you can you have a seat right here? Can you kick off your shoes for me? Your ankles. Okay. Hello Kitty just came out on the news. It's not a cat. >> All right. Um, so can you favor one more time? I know we did down the street. We have to do a secondary search. It's our policy on lockup. So, can you stand up and let this final officer search? >> What's up? >> One second. >> One second. >> Who you texting? >> My husband. >> Your husband? Okay. Can you call in like 2 minutes? Just give me a second. >> Okay, I'll let you give a second. Don't worry. >> What? >> Are you coming? >> Yeah, but it's >> over here already. >> Yeah, >> I know. But it's going to be an hour >> if you let if you let him know. We're not going to be done for like 2 hours. So, >> all right. So, 2 hours and All right. Can you jump up again, please? >> Thank you. Just follow her directions. Okay. I just got to make sure no I did the exact same on you. That means that now you have anything on you that I did already pulled out. No, >> just just to let you just to let you know, I'll give you a heads up. Um, if you do have something hidden in your bra, >> if you have something in your bra or something, it's actually worse offense. I'm just letting you know to be honest with you right now. I'm not trying to be rude. >> Just stop. >> All right, I'll stop. >> That's fine. [Applause] 204. >> Can you copy DO and I'll give it to you to actually I ran it on the street. Can you go ahead and print out the full abstract uh situation? All right. [Music] >> Can you read me my uh case number in time to stop? number is 667 66 67 initiated at 131 a.m. >> Thank you. That's fine. >> Yeah, that's really okay. Thank you. I appreciate it. Let me let me [Applause] give you one sec. Otherwise, I got to cover her up and that's not enough. But there's more of like right there too. Right. Perfect. Thank you. >> I appreciate your help. Heat. [Music] Heat. Hey, I know I know this sucks right now. I'm just going to explain some really basic stuff so you have an understanding of what's going on. Okay. So, >> probably not. >> What do you mean probably not? Oh, can you cover I like no [Music] I was born in Mexico and was probably getting deported probably because of I'm like citizens everything is late dead and I know that because you're going to [Music] I'm not like people. >> I I understand. >> You don't get anything to do because of you like my situation is different and my future like you never You're going to be the same to everyone else. >> I know you don't care. I know. I get it. I get it. I just learned my citizenship because I didn't say >> I know you're not. But I'm just telling you. >> I'm just telling you. I know you don't care. I know. Like I literally literally remember >> Tanya I've arrested a lot of people for DUI that aren't citizens of people. >> I've I've arrested a lot of people from Mexico and I've ran into them before >> and they have citizenships. >> Can you please Can you Can you please cover up for me just please? I I want to help because of you guys. I don't want to. >> Okay. >> Please. Thank you. [Music] [Music] [Music] Z21. C21. [Music] Hey T. [Applause] >> Hey Tanya. I know you don't want to talk to me and stuff and you don't have to talk to me, but there's a rule that says I have to read you this document. Okay. >> Just I'm going to just read this and then print the tickets. [Music] >> What do you need me to do for you right for the moment? Nothing. >> Nothing really. Just want to read this. See if uh we'll chill. >> No. right now cuz as soon as I do that this just just give me 3 seconds. So, >> okay. >> So, you don't need anything? >> No, I appreciate I appreciate it. I'm good though. >> Okay. All right. Um, see, she need a ride or whatever.
