Hey, thanks again for the donations, guys. That's so crazy. I'm so happy right now. >> Do you have your driver's license? >> No. >> WTF? Posing as a kid. >> Yeah, it's crazy, bro. >> Come here. >> Why are you on campus? >> Senior citizen. >> Go to school here. >> Oh, all right. >> I was just grabbing something. >> No, no, no, no. See, here's the thing. You're not allowed to be on campus. You're trespassing right now. Okay. No, no, no. There's no there's no there's no sorry. >> All right. What you doing up here? >> One of my friends. >> Huh? Did you graduate from here? >> I graduated from Ali. >> Wait, he actually looks like a kid. >> You just here? >> Well, I was here previously before. >> So, you lied. Well, I asked you what grade are you in, right? And what did you say? >> I was a senior. >> You were a senior. Okay. Did you think we weren't going to check? >> No, I didn't think of anything at the moment. >> You gave false information to a law enforcement officer. Correct. And you're trespassing on school property. Do you know that, right? And how old are you? >> 21. >> I'm old. 27. >> I was expecting a grown ass man. >> Who you coming to see? >> All my friends over here. You coming to see your girlfriend? >> You don't have your ID on. >> You don't have a wallet? I know you got a wallet. I saw it. >> Yeah. >> You too damn old to be here. Basically, I don't care what friends you got. They all too young if you 21. >> 21. He looks 12. >> Put your hands up here on the on the wall. Back up for me. I mean 21 is adult, but I was thinking 30 or something. >> All right, go ahead. Can I get that for you? >> Yeah, Jonathan, >> you put your hands back up on me. All right. You're being arrested for trespassing on school grounds and also for a law enforcement officer. Is there anyone in the home? >> No, you're 19 years old. >> 21 or Oh, he's 21. >> Mhm. >> Oh, and then you lie by your age, too. Okay. >> Okay. Go ahead. Have some fun. Hey, we need you. Uh, we just made arrest. He had a 21-year-old on campus hanging out with his friends. We Well, we heard earlier that he was here to come meet his girlfriend. >> He was here in the morning, too. Supposedly, >> he was by the band room, auditorium room outside where they hang out. And then this is his uh second time on campus. >> I'll take it back to my office. >> Okay. All right. >> Come on. That way people can see my play right now. Z one. >> So now instead of having just one charge, you're going to have two line to a long. >> What is a post? >> Oh, his GF is a student man. WTF? >> Don't just me exceed them. [laughter] What the >> So now instead of having just one charge, we're going to have two. >> Lying to a law enforcement officer. Brothers 21 hanging out at a high school. Come on, bra. >> Happen in today today's society with shootings and stuff like that. People burning drugs on campus. >> We take it serious when >> Hey folks, haven't done one of these in a minute at friendlies. >> Comes on through campus, right? It's pretty it's a it's a serious uh serious deal. Something we cannot just let slide. Have you been in trouble before? >> Yes, sir. >> As an adult? >> Yes, sir. >> I I don't mean I don't mean to offend you. Okay. When I look at you and then I look at this. So by this you you female. Okay. >> All right. >> Yeah. 21 years old on the school grounds here to see a friend >> apparently came on campus earlier this morning. Found out that was that the in at that >> oh man >> and uh found her over by the auditorium in between the band room and the auditorium. >> Her him with her. It's she it's a she and she was with another another female. Yes. So, uh I explained that you know we take it serious about trespassing school ground especially with everything that happens in today's >> the other student >> WA. She's been giving me I'm charged with the false information to a law enforcement officer too because I first asked her if uh she was you know what grade she was in and said she was uh would you tell me you were a senior and that she was only 19 years old and it just downhill from there. So >> did you even go to um go to this school? >> Yeah. What year did you graduate? Wait, he's a she? >> That's a chick. >> No way. >> Okay. Who found a code on campus? >> One of the admin. One of the ad. >> Holy smokes. I couldn't tell. >> We already had a picture. Mr. Mr. >> I read the I I saw something in the thumbnail or something that gave it away to me. But yeah, >> found her on camera this from this morning. And so we were on the lookout for that individual and another admin saw saw her this time. So this was earlier today like this morning. So that could that be two counts or just one count? >> She looks like a young man person standing. >> Has she been Miranda's? >> No, I have I have not. >> Want me to do it? >> Yeah. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything [clears throat] you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us now? Yes, sir. >> Is that a yes or a no? >> Yes, sir. >> No. Okay. >> Before I realized it was a female, I already I already patted her down. Um I thought it was a male. >> I need you to um contact the uh other young lady's mother and make her aware that father and make them aware of this situation. >> Okay. >> And we had an adult on campus that was here to see her. >> Okay. >> All right. I'm Barnes. I'm just going to search you if you don't have anything. Okay. Um do you have anything you want to admit to? All right. Cuz if you take it to the jail and I'm going find it, that's on you, big dog. >> Right. All right. So, I'm going to have you stand up and you face away from me. >> All right. So, I'm just going to feel under your uh your bra. Okay. >> And you step back so I can have you spread your feet for me. >> Big dog. >> The cop is crazy. There's yours. >> Mine. >> Get our barns. Your >> hands behind your back, please. >> Appreciate it. >> Give it to me. >> All right, we're good to go. Wallet, telephone. Please do not address anybody on your way out. So, administration this morning received a tip from anonymous source that there had been a uh a male student on campus that was an adult. >> Okay. >> Okay. Admin began looking at cameras and trying to identify. That's a that's a concern. That admin was able to identify the individual. And so during lunch, we went over there, got the individual, and was able to identify the individual as being 21 years old. I have not talked about any of that. Um, my concern was getting this person off campus, and that individual was arrested for trespassing on school grounds. >> All right. So, if I can get to come in here and tell me if they were in a relationship, how do I move on to press charges for that is statutory to me. >> Okay. and does not have my approval. By no means, way, shape, or form, >> any other legal legal >> ramifications >> ramifications need to be upheld in my opinion because there's no business of a 21-year-old being with 18-year-old in no way, shape, or form. >> Okay. So, let's dub her up and >> absolutely wrong. >> See what's going on. Okay. I just want to start off here. You are not in trouble. >> Law enforcement trouble. >> Okay. Okay. So, let me let me let me go over what I what I know. Okay. >> So, this is this is what I know. We received information this morning that Dakota was on campus to see you this morning at the beginning of school. >> Okay. And then we received information that she was going to come back and see you again during lunch. And so we were able to look at camera footage and find out who Dakota was cuz no one knew who it was, but we found out who it was and uh identify her during lunch. We were told that y'all you two and were in a relationship and uh originally I thought I thought it was a boy cuz we kept on hearing saying some people were saying it was your boyfriend and I mean that's really doesn't matter. But the the fact is that this person is 21 years old. You know that, right? 21 how old are you? That's against the law to have any kind of physical contact of of any any any sorts. That person is >> really stop them. >> So obviously my concern here at school is someone on this campus that doesn't not that does not belong especially an adult and uh when I talk to that adult the adult lies to me too. Any charge that I can press against this person, I'm going to press that and I have the right to do so. And I have 110% support from your mother. >> Have you in the past been around Dakota alone? Before that happens though, they address the most obvious issue at hand. >> How much do you have to drink today? >> Not a lot. >> Not a lot? >> No. >> How long have you been drinking today? >> An hour? >> An hour? >> Yeah. >> What were you drinking? But with his behavior becoming increasingly difficult to manage, they ultimately decide not to force the situation and leave him in the deputy's custody. >> How do you want to get to your house? >> I'm going to uh >> Where's your house at? >> Scooter home. >> I don't have a home, bro. >> You don't have a home? >> No. >> Okay. You stay here. >> Yeah. >> You keep saying you want to walk away. Where do you want to go? >> Dude, I don't. >> I can't let you walk down the street like this. I can't. The footage shows Bradley repeatedly kicking the back door, appearing to try to force his way inside. When the woman opens the door, she puts her hand up to prevent him from entering. But Bradley continues forward and eventually makes his way into the residence. >> So, Bradley, where can we take you today? I don't want you staying here. [music] He has no idea just how desperate the man is to avoid arrest or what he is willing to do to escape. >> Bye, bro. >> Okay. It's around 10:55 a.m. on April 3rd, 2025, and an Arakoy County Sheriff's detective has just noticed a white Ford Edge with a suspended license plate at an intersection in Onara, Illinois. As a detective approaches the vehicle, he immediately recognizes both the driver and the passenger. And he knows that the passenger, 39-year-old James Nelson, has an active felony warrant out of Irakcoy County for aggravated fleeing and eluding. But as the detective speaks with him, he doesn't know how prepared James is or just how far he is willing to go to avoid this arrest. A little window, please. Thank you. Hello, my name is Josh N, detective with the county Sheriff's Office. The reason I pulled you over is the plates on this vehicle are suspected. >> Yeah, they're they're suspected. And then J.R. Nelson. >> All right, step out of the car, man. Please step out of the car. >> Really, Josh? >> Yeah, dude. It's you. Come on, dude. >> Come on. Just this once, let me go, >> dude. You have a warrant. >> Please, just once let me go. >> Please get out of the car. >> I know I will, but can I go home first and tell my mom by they're not going to let me out of jail, Josh? >> No. Come on. >> I promise you I will come with you. >> No, you're getting out of the car right now. Please. Come on, dude. >> Please, Josh. >> No. Get out of the car. Come on. Don't Don't reach. Don't reach. Get your hand Get your hand out of the car. GET YOUR HAND OUT OF THE CAR. PLEASE STOP. PLEASE STOP. >> I ASK YOU POLITELY. PLEASE TELL ME OFF, >> DUDE. Please stop. >> Jr. Nelson's running on foot. He has a bomb in his hand. >> He's running westbound. Get the head bomb on the dude. >> Run on to his house. >> We're running to his house. >> Jr., stop. >> We're in the backyard of his residence. >> This is his backyard seminary. >> What the is this? >> He just got inside. >> He still says he has a bomb in his hand. >> Never do that, bro. You treat me like this. >> Come on, dude. You know you have a warrant. Please stop. >> Each time James stopped during the short chase, he placed his other hand over the top of the bomb, suggesting that he was willing to detonate it. Given the seriousness of the situation, his apparent intention to cause harm, and the fact that he is now inside his mother's house, the detective can already tell this is not going to end well. Eventually, James' mother steps out of the residence and is taken to a safe location while he remains inside the home. By 1:48 p.m. that afternoon, the East Central Illinois bomb Squad arrives on scene and uses a robot to enter and clear the first floor of the residence. However, when the robot attempts to enter the attic, it finds the door locked, clearly indicating that James has barricaded himself inside. With James paying no attention to the units or complying with their commands, the Ki County Emergency Response Team arrives by 4:30 p.m., more than 5 hours after the standoff begins. But despite their repeated warnings and commands, they received no response from James. After attempts to enter the attic through its window fail around 7:30 p.m., more than 8 hours into the standoff, units finally decide to reach the attic by making entry through the resident's main entrance. But as they wait for the dogs to show any sign of James, they still have no idea that the bomb is not the only lethal weapon he is holding. >> Find him. Get on comms and have that robot reorientate upstairs. Upstairs from >> Belure robot picking anything up. Any indication he was a robot? >> He was in upstairs. Upstairs >> police with K9. What on what's behind us? >> Find him. >> Finally, with the unit getting more confirmation of James' presence in the attic, they decide to move upstairs. But finding him and getting him to comply is going to be a whole other challenge. We clear to go ahead and make entry upstairs. >> You got half. >> I got it. >> All right. I got half. >> Robot right. >> Hey, make sure you peel out. You wanted to go this way every time first. >> All right. Doc, are we clear to move? As officers work to cover every corner of the attic in search of James, one of them will soon spot him in the most unexpected area. >> Hey guys, we can make entry on this side. Done for. >> Okay. >> Okay. Well, I'll just hold this then. >> All right. >> Actually, I'm going to back up. >> Yep. >> Or if you're staying here with them? >> Yep. Apart from finding the bomb James had been carrying that morning, along with a multicolored lighter, both in close proximity to where James was found, the detective and responding units also discovered a red toolbox containing 147 rounds of ammunition, a rifle, 240 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 19 rounds of 12- gauge ammunition, one round of 40 caliber ammunition, 1.5 BMG round, and 40 rounds of 20 caliber ammunition. 50 in.
