What are these cops doing? And more importantly, whatever they're doing, is it in protection and service of the community? >> Welcome to the Wild West of Police State America. [music] >> Wild West. >> We have over a dozen responding Houston officers directly involved in this incident. There are 23 seconds of continuous gunfire and hundreds of rounds of ammunition spent. And I'm not kidding. When I say 23 solid seconds of gunfire, I mean 23 solid seconds. >> [screaming] >> Reports indicate that innocent bystanders were in a shopping center across the street scrambling for cover. The cops once again fail to consider the questionable backdrop and the possibility of injuring or even killing innocent people. And who are they shooting at? An unarmed man who reportedly stole his mom's vehicle. A vehicle she presumably wanted back in one piece without bullet holes. Today we're in Houston, Texas, right here at the 4200 block of Westimer Road in Houston's Highland Village area in front of Escalante's Texmex restaurant. An off-duty uniformed Houston police officer working extra employment located a suspect, 30-year-old Jamarcus O'Neal Spates, inside a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Fort Ben County and was related to an assault. At approximately 7:23 p.m., uniformed onduty Houston police officers arrived to assist and attempt to perform a felony traffic stop on the parked vehicle. The officers gave verbal commands. Spates didn't comply, remaining inside his vehicle for an extended period. And at approximately 7:53 p.m., officers made a coordinated approach toward the vehicle, at which time officers claimed they believed the suspect pushed open the driver's door and extended his arm in what they called a shooting position. Eight officers and one sergeant discharged their duty weapons, striking Spates. A drone was sent in prior to the officers extracting Spates from the vehicle and officers rendered aid until HFD paramedics arrived. Spates was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive. Thank god no officers were injured and Spates was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, which is a felony, and that took place in the 482nd Criminal District Court with a bond set at $35,000. We're going to take a look at this video. We're going to make some comments along the way, and you tell me in the comment section if you think these cops would make great Yuvaldi police officers. >> Hands up. DAVE, GIVE COMMANDS. PUT YOUR HANDS UP. PUT YOUR HANDS UP. HANDS UP. PUT YOUR HANDS UP. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS NOW. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. Hands up. Show me your hands. Show your hands. Show me your hands. JUST OPEN THE DOOR. SHOW YOUR HANDS. Hold [screaming] it. >> HOLD IT. I just hold for a minute. >> What in the fresh hell would ever justify that prolonged of gunfire, especially in the direction OF THE SHOPPING CENTER? >> LET me just show you the direction they were shooting. This right here is Escalante's Mexican Grill. The cops were parked here, falling all over themselves in the parking lot. The car that was supposedly stolen was in the second parking space and they were shooting in this direction across the street into this shopping center. Here's the satellite view. He was parked in this parking space right here. The cops were parked here shooting in this direction. You can see this at 7:30 was probably a very full shopping center with a lot of people going in and out and reportedly running for cover. At the very least, they should fire every single one of these cops who discharged their weapon for being reckless and putting public lives in danger. >> Everyone good? >> You good? >> I can guarantee your safety. You step out of the vehicle. Nothing in your hands. >> Hands. >> Again, this is a police kine. If you get out, show your hands. Right now, we can guarantee your safety. If you have grass on the dog, the dog won't bite you. >> Wait, a cop is going to guarantee your safety. >> Hey, give your hands driver. Let's see your hands. >> Hands up. DAVE, GIVE COMMANDS. >> DRIVER, PUT YOUR HANDS UP. >> PUT YOUR HANDS WHERE WE CAN SEE THEM. Put your hands up. >> Hands up. Hands up. PUT YOUR HANDS UP. YOUR HANDS. >> DRIVER, PUT YOUR HANDS UP. >> SHOW ME YOUR HANDS NOW. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. Hands up. Show me your hands. Show your hand. Show your hands. Show your hands. Driver step. >> Wait a minute. Before we proceed with this, did that lead officer drop his ballistic shield and run? Here's the ballistic shield right here. That's the lead guy. He dropped his ballistic shield and ran away. What the hell? Let's watch that again. Does the Houston Police Department want to explain to us what training ing this guy received telling him it's okay to fire his weapon while running and looking away. >> Hold it. Just hold for a minute. >> Everybody load fire. >> Reload if you need to. >> Take your partner. >> Reload if you need to. The guy's got no gun. Why did you start firing in the first place? >> You good? >> Yeah. You good? >> Dave, give commands. >> DRIVER, PUT YOUR HANDS UP. >> PUT YOUR HANDS WHERE we can put your hands up. >> Put your HANDS UP YOUR HANDS. >> PUT YOUR HANDS UP. THROW YOUR HANDS OUT. >> Show me your hands. Hands up. Show me your hands. >> When we move up slowly, we're going to hold your hand. >> OPEN THE DOOR. SHOW YOUR HANDS. HOLD. HOLD. You still moving. [screaming] >> Hold. Let it breathe. >> Everyone good? >> Let it breathe like they're cooking a steak. DRIVER. >> Hands up. >> SHOW ME YOUR HANDS NOW. >> SHOW me your hands. >> Hands up. >> Show me your hands. >> Fire will move up soon. >> Show your hands. >> Show your hands. Just open the door. SHOW YOUR HANDS. THIS IS THE PERSPECTIVE of the only guy who didn't run. We're going to take a look at him in a second. He's the only guy on scene that didn't run until after he emptied his first magazine. He's shooting an AR style rifle presumably with 30 rounds in that magazine. He just emptied one magazine. He's going to pop another one in. [screaming] Oh, still moving. All right, we got to watch this guy dive and hit the pavement again. Look at this. Running for nothing because one of his buddies started firing a shot first and then everybody else followed suit. Watch this slow motion. Oh my god, somebody's firing at me. I got to save my life. I'm running away. I'm running away. Nobody. Nobody was firing at you. You were safe the entire time. >> Hold it. Just hold for a minute. >> Okay, >> I'm good. I'm good. >> EVERYBODY CHECK YOURSELVES. Reload if you need to check yourselves. Check your partner. >> PUT YOUR HANDS UP. >> ALL RIGHT. >> PUT YOUR HANDS WHERE we can see them. Put your hands up. >> Hands up. Hands up. >> Put your hands up. >> Hands up. Let me SEE YOUR HANDS. >> HANDS UP. HANDS UP. >> SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. HANDS UP. >> SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. >> Hands up. >> Show me your hands. >> Stay put. Stay put. >> Show your hands. >> SHOW YOUR HANDS. >> OPEN THE DOOR. SHOW YOUR HANDS. >> He drops the shield. This is the body cam of the ballistic shield guy. Look at this. He drops it immediately. The reason you have the ballistic shield is so bullets don't hit you. So when you drop the shield, if bullets are coming your way, they're going to pierce your flesh. News flash. Hold it. HOLD IT. >> HOLD IT. >> Just hold for a minute. >> Let it breathe. >> Okay, >> I'm good. I'm good. >> EVERYBODY RELOAD IF you need to check yourselves. TAKE YOUR PARTNER. >> HE'S looking now. Watch. >> Hey, give some hands. GIVE SOME HANDS. COME ON. >> Open the door. >> Stay behind me. Stay behind me. Stay behind me. >> Put your hands up. >> All right. >> Put your hands where we CAN SEE THEM. PUT YOUR HANDS UP. >> Hands up. Hands up. >> Put your hands up. >> LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS. >> HANDS UP. Hands up. >> Show them your hands now. >> Show them your hands. >> Hands up. >> Show them your hands. >> Stay put. >> Let me SEE YOUR HANDS. HANDS UP. Hands up. >> Show me your hands now. >> Show me your hands. >> Hands up. >> Show me your hands. >> Okay. He's behind the guy with the shield. >> Stay put. >> Show your hands. >> Show your hands. Open the door. Show your hands. GOOD. HOLD IT. HOLD IT. >> HOLD IT. >> Just hold for a minute. >> You okay? >> I'm good. I'm good. >> EVERYBODY CHECK YOUR RELOAD IF YOU NEED TO CHECK YOURSELVES. Check your partner. down. De Jamarcus Spates was not armed and therefore could not have fired a shot. So, the first shot came from the Houston Police Department, and then everybody else joined in the fun. Fun that could have ended in the injury or death of a lot of people in this parking lot across the street. But cops don't care about that as long as they get to shoot the bullet. An >> There aren't any bullets in this gun. >> Oh, well, Barney keeps his bullet in his pocket. >> In his pocket? >> Mhm. >> Well, why don't you put it in the pistol where it belongs? Yes, sir. Mr. Case. >> And in true cop cowardly fashion, when that first shot was fired, they all scattered like a bunch of cockroaches, except for this guy. I personally think they'd all be great candidates for the Yuvaldi Police Department. Leave your thoughts about this for the world in the comments section below.
