Today we have a video from Midwest Safety and the title of the video is the of Deputy Caleb Conley. >> I've not been able to make contact with the Georgetown unit unable to verify. >> 911, the believe a sheriff just got shot here on the exit. >> You think a deputy just got shot at the exit? >> He was in the stop of car and he got shot in the car cuz he sped away. It was a red Nissan Murano. >> It was a red SUV. It looks like the guy just stuck his gun out his window. >> He's bleeding out. >> He's bleeding out. Can you administer first aid to him or are you close enough? >> There are three people doing that right now. >> HE'S SHOT IN THE NECK. HOLD PRESSURE, MAN. HOLD PRESSURE. Come on, buddy. >> COME ON, MAN. >> COME ON, BROTHER. WE'RE HERE, MAN. >> TRY TO TAKE A BREATH. Continue CPR. >> They're getting loaded up now. >> The guy had a warrant and he going to stop it. He didn't he didn't get on the radio. The passerby called in that a deputy's been shot. >> Continue on the Nissan Murano. >> Unknown direction of travel. You guys they already got the UK or trying to set up for export? >> What kind of shape is he in? >> Shot the guy. >> Been up there is it I mean >> Yeah, I was there when they were there. He doesn't look very good. >> Wait, what he said? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Truck driver truck drive Wait, truck driver appears visibly frustrated with traffic. >> [sighs] >> See, and that's a tough one, too, because it's like these guys obviously are dealing with something very, very serious. But also the truck drivers, they have a job. They have, you know, a delivery that has to get delivered on time for them to get paid and and get hit, you know what I mean? They're going to get hit, but uh uh [ __ ] it. You got to wait. >> Been up there is it I mean >> Yeah, I was there and they were It doesn't look very good. >> Not long after Deputy Caleb Conley was shot, dispatch received another call regarding a separate incident. >> 911, what's your emergency? >> I just had somebody steal my car and threatened me with a gun. Big white male about 6'1" maybe. Had a girl with him who was supposedly very sick and then just had surgery. They were heading toward Lexington. That's where he said he was going. I was going to try to help him out and he forced his way into the house, pulled the gun, told my wife if she didn't give him car keys he was going to shoot me and kill me. >> What kind of gun did they have? >> It was a big heavy gun. Looked like a .45. I said, "As soon as you leave I'm calling the police." And he said, "Well, they'll just kill me." And I said, "Well, from the looks of things that wouldn't be a big deal." First couple of times he made the threat he had the gun down by his side. Then he started moving it up. I wanted to punch his lips out. >> Do you see any vehicles outside of your house that might have showed up in? >> Yeah, I've got a signal light out on my uh >> Do you see like a brand new white truck on Morano out there or anything? >> Right in front of my It's sitting in my driveway. >> The woman that he was with, did you get a good look at her by any chance? >> She acted like she was in a lot of pain. It seemed genuine. >> Do you by any chance happen to notice if she had like one of them little hospital bracelets on her wrist? >> No, I didn't cuz she stayed in his car until she got out and came around to get in my car. >> Officials will later discover their suspects are 45-year-old Steven Shang Shang and his alleged girlfriend Monica Harden. In the past couple of weeks Steven and Monica were allegedly involved in several cases of theft. Surveillance footage captured Steven stealing lawn tools and a generator just days prior. Some items were sold within minutes at a nearby pawn shop. Their biggest theft involved stealing and selling a 1971 Chevrolet El Camino. In the following days, officials will obtain dozens of surveillance clips tracking their movements. Steven has a long criminal history, most notably a series of crimes in 2010 for multiple counts of receiving stolen property and theft with persistent felony offender enhancements resulting in a reportedly 20-year prison sentence. However, news reports indicate Steven became eligible for parole in 2021, only 11 years after his alleged crimes. 2 years later, he >> You supposed to do 20 and you only did 11? I don't know if he getting that much god damn good behavior. I think he might have had to sit down for one of them McDonald's meals, if you know what I mean. You supposed to do 20 and you only did damn You only did half. Nah. Mm-mm. Mm-mm. And then, the thing is is that they said that they stole a car and ended up selling it. People don't know that um there's cars out there on the black market that it's big money in that, you know, being able to steal cars, sell them, and then they they strip it away or whatever. You scratch off the VINs and all this other stuff and use it for you know, and it's like ghost cars, you know. >> He shot Deputy Caleb Conley. While Steven has an extensive criminal history, a However, news reports indicate Steven became eligible for parole in 2021, only 11 years after his alleged crimes. 2 years later, he shot Deputy Caleb Conley. While Steven has an extensive criminal history, a surprising twist reveals Monica was actually a civilian employee for the Kentucky State Police from 2012 to 2018, the same agency that is now tracking her and Steven. A Facebook post from Kentucky State Police lists her as an administrative specialist for the criminal identification and records branch. As officers moved in to contact the victims of the stolen Dodge Caravan, officials received reports of another shooting. >> Hey, Lexington just had a shooting at Rosen Gyms. >> I will spread the word, okay? >> Apparently, there was just a shooting at Rosen Gyms. White Dodge Caravan. It was possibly carjacked prior to that. Now, the suspect is possibly in a Ford Bronco. >> He stole another car at Rosen Gyms. >> The next carjack victim, David De Leonardo, was shot twice in the stomach by Steven as he and Monica drove off in his dark gray Ford Bronco. David was a regular at a bar near his home called Rosen Gyms. Surveillance footage appears to show the suspects targeting David, following him in their recently stolen Dodge Caravan right before the carjacking happens. Roughly 2 and 1/2 miles down the road from the bar, officials reportedly spot the stolen Bronco. >> He's in his third carjacked vehicle and we're in route right now to Rosen Gyms. That's our video. >> Look like they have a perimeter on the other side of the road. I can't tell where the Bronco is right now. Their helicopter's up, but I guess just with so much area to cover. >> All right, but we got the Bronco. Dispatch, can you hear us? Dispatch, can you hear us? We got the Bronco. >> Metro's got the canine. They've got Marshall Task Force, a couple other fed units down there. >> They said he's flat on foot in Lexington and I'm going to go find him. >> Yep, me too. >> What are you hearing? Where do you want me? >> The woman was screaming at me cops coming back over. She said that she may have seen a bigger white dude run down this street. >> I'm going to go up here and try to keep a perimeter. >> Go inside. >> Copy 19. >> Go go inside. TWO DOORS. >> THAT CAR'S A BRONCO out in front of this block. >> Right back side of that corner. >> Hey Harley, stay out until we have something. Don't go in by yourself. >> Is that his house? >> I don't know. I'm just holding a perimeter. >> I'm going to stay with you all. >> All right, make sure you all stay together. >> Yeah. >> Do you know what he's wearing? >> White male, all in black. >> They said blue shirt. >> 8140. >> Gray gray car he's parking in the back in the driveway right there. >> I got air one. >> If it's false then we give up this perimeter. Watch your back. Spread the word. He's already carjacked two people. So, if y'all know people driving, you might want to tell them to not be driving. >> Is that the cemetery back there, Jack? >> Yeah. >> But it goes like that's not normal. >> Can we confirm that >> went that way? >> I don't want to give all this up. >> We don't need to. >> for that to be nothing. If the helicopter is on the way, they're going to find him in the cemetery. >> Yeah. We have comms with them at all? >> We were told that you guys had that he was in the cemetery, but that's not the case. >> So, you heard the last thing that I heard then. That's what we got from Air One. I don't have anything else yet. >> What they told us They told us that he was in the cemetery, so y'all ran up there. If they're not, then we need to go back that way. >> Say it in between Whitney and Price. >> Is there another vehicle at that house? >> He's also got a female with him. >> Dude, there's three people with him, a female and him. >> So, you never saw anything? >> She said her trash can got knocked over. >> Is the car crashed? >> I mean, the doors are open. Like he come to a pretty abrupt halt. >> There's no way cuz he wrecked out here, I parked here, and made my way to you all over there. >> My ass would go in the woods. That's me. >> You know what I'm saying? >> Yeah, he's already on a carjacking fiasco. I wouldn't be surprised. >> He's got another one we talked about. >> There's an idiot walking down the street. >> How many of these people realize he's just going around shooting people? >> Where we at? >> Couple of things, right? >> [clears throat] >> One, I don't know how this lady gets caught up with this guy. It seems like she was a productive member of society. So, how does she get up caught up with this criminal guy? Like that I I don't know I don't know, maybe it's a small town and they all, you know, they all go to the same bars or whatever the case may be or something but how did they even into she worked for the police department? And the boyfriend that you choose is this guy who got a rap sheet a mile long like that's the best you can do? You work for the police department. You can't GET A COP? LIKE LET'S BE HONEST HERE. Co-workers be in them fields. They all mess with each other. I'm sorry to break it to you but it it is what it is, okay? That's the reality of the situation. You know, the officers mess with, you know, the the the other little staff there, you know, and stuff like that. Officers mess with officers. Everything, you know what I'm saying? Like it just that's the way it go, you know? It it was the same thing in corrections. COs messing with civilian staff, civilian staff messing with COs or higher chains of command, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, you know? That's COs messing with COs, you know? They be having wives and husbands at home and all of that, too. It is what IT IS. IT'S >> [laughter] >> NAH, I'M PLAYING BUT YEAH, that well, I'm not playing about that part but, you know, um So, that right there is just very shock shocking to me that she decided with all that male attention that she could get right there, why would you go with this guy? And then earlier I said, man, it look like he sat down for one of them happy meals, you know what I'm saying? One of them but it's just the way that the cookie crumble. He was eligible for parole after serving half your time. Damn, half? That [ __ ] is crazy. I would have think 20-year piece. All right, at least serve like 15, you know, and then do the come up for parole and do the other half. But, man, let's get back to it, man. >> All right, WHERE'S HE AT? WE'RE CALLING SOMEBODY OUT. Possible that he's in there. >> He else shot. It's also possible he shot at home owners in their car. >> Shot once through the window inside. >> Is this house the second house? >> The second house. >> Second house from the blue car. >> Hey, homie. Is it the brick? >> Brick and gray. >> Hold there. >> He's currently barricaded in a house. >> Copy that. Anyone in the alleyway there? >> Stand by, we're getting a number. >> Hey, Gary. >> Back side. >> What are the numbers on the house? >> 862, I think. >> I believe it's going >> I believe it's going to be 860. >> All right, I'm holding right now. 860. >> It's our target house. >> I'm going to move this so we got better cover. >> We've had very limited information on what's happening. >> It's been crazy, so. >> Yeah, that's 10-4. Let's go. >> Hey, if you go up like one more car, you're out of line of sight. Then you'll have that house as cover as well. >> Hey, Aaron, did we put eyes on him in there? >> Yes, he came to the door. I couldn't possibly identify him, but a flatmate came to the door and we retreated back into the house. >> 10-4. >> They think they got him in >> This one's our target house. >> Right here. >> Blue door in the back? >> Yes, sir. >> I'm not 100% >> sure anything. I'm going off what they said that that is likely his blue shirt and he did a home invasion on the next one over. >> Window. Window. Right window. Movement. >> Hey, bro. Come outside WITH YOUR HANDS UP. >> WHO BROKE that window? >> HEY, WATCH OUT. WE GOT MOVEMENT on this right window right here. >> OCCUPANT OF 860, COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP. >> I'M ASSUMING y'all have ER. Are you coming? A barricade situation would be nice. >> We have one in progress using the beanbag. >> Use the PA system start calling out his name. >> First name I'll pick you up. I'll pick you up. Go ahead and talk to him if you need to. >> What is her name on his back door? >> Uh Steven. It's a weird name. >> You said the occupant >> 860. >> 860. >> He keeps looking out the front. >> He is looking out the front. >> Somebody is. >> This is the Lexington Police Department. No officer safety. They advised there's somebody still inside. The suspect is still in the residence. Suspect is in the house. >> Where's the shield? >> Confirming he's in the house. >> Clear, keep the ERU coming. >> Yes, that's affirmative. Keep them coming, please. >> Unit's on the way. They have been advised that he's standing behind the front door. One of the homeowners across the street just told me he's standing behind the door. >> Steven, where are you? >> Trying to get to him. >> Hey Antoine, they're saying he's in there. >> He is for sure inside. >> With no shirt on? >> YEAH. >> COME OUTSIDE. Anything you say can and will be used against you in court. >> a car close? >> No, it's down the road. >> Mine is too. >> I'll stay with her. >> No, I was just going to put her in the car. >> Contact with suspect at the door. >> At the door, at the door, at the door. >> EVERYBODY HOLD. >> I'M GOING TO GO OVER HERE AND COVER. Way too early. And he comes out and does this? >> What's your [ __ ] name? Steven Watson? Steven Sensei? Yeah, okay. Did you just Hey guys, on the rear. We got guys going in to clear. Yeah, the whole crew out there, man. That them boys out. Let's go, man. The only thing that would have been better if they could have really just sent them up through there to the afterlife, man, for doing what he did to them innocent people in the and then especially the police officer, man. Should have really just sent them out through there, man. You know. Somebody like him shouldn't even waste the space, waste of air. Come on, man. Nah, low low low life. And how does she end up with a guy like this? That is beyond me. You was a productive member of society and you end up with this. This is makes no sense, man. No sense, you know. I I I You know, I got a little story, right? So, there was a friend of the family, right? And she also worked for corrections, right? And uh for a little while there, she she's had a bunch of jobs, bounced around and whatever, but there was one point in time there where she worked for corrections. Not at my not at my prison that I was at, but at a different one. And she she So, she's a civilian. And she ends up not doing anything while he was incarcerated or whatever, right? But they met while he was incarcerated. Um cuz she worked at this inmates ja- uh jail or whatever. But then when he got out, they end up getting together and stuff like that or whatever. Then of course they split, right? Of course. But I'm sitting here and I never looked at her the same again. Never. Never looked at her the same again. How do you And she doesn't work for corrections anymore or whatever. But it's like, how do you go from this side being a productive member of society? And I'm not saying you know, all it makes are bad people whatever. There's some guys that just make mistakes and I I get all of that or whatever. But this guy caught a body, okay? All right, he's in there for murder. Like, let's be on And he got out. He did all this time. He got out. Come on, okay? This isn't a guy that uh you know, he got caught stealing a couple of t-shirts from Walmart or something, you know? I mean There's a big There is a big difference. And I just look and I'm like, how can you go from being a civilian, having a good state job, whatever, yada yada, to out of all the men in the world, you go with this guy? This is the best you This is what you choose? So, this automatically with this lady right here, it automatically made me think of uh you know, the friend of the family there. And I'm like, how? How does it make sense? And at the time, I'm a CO, so I'm like, I definitely don't agree with it. I mean, I This [ __ ] is I I never looked at her the same after that again. Like, I'm like, yeah, your judgment is just all off, man. All off. >> My guy. My guy. >> Two sets on his back. >> What you going to do? >> Get him out. >> One set on him. >> Man, step out of the car. >> Step out of the car. >> Come on, Al. Step out of the >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I got your cuffs on. >> Put my lights on. >> Shut up. I I to hear you talk. Shut the [ __ ] up. >> Hey, I sent an EMS unit to signal 2 with you. >> 10-4. >> I'm going to have your EMS clearing. >> Who was the other guy that was in the house here with him? >> There was >> Or the girl? >> I think there was two other guys that got pulled out. >> I seen a picture of body cam that was just a gun pointed at you from >> But 242 got on the same Do you need the EMS now? >> I'm going to send him to talk with you. >> He showed up. >> I didn't hear anything. 10-4. >> I'm going to watch that again. Steven should be showing up here. I imagine he'll be in there. >> I'll have him out again. >> What's he getting checked out for? Cuz he pissed his pants. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> He's dancing. >> I think she walked off. >> He's cleared. >> ALL RIGHT, DO YOU NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL? >> I can't say that. >> That's all right. >> All right, we'll figure it out, okay? >> What's up, officer? >> Big gulps, that's >> I am from 400 block of >> Hey, did they start checking vitals with him? >> He's urinating himself and acting like he's, you >> I'm on 42 and 96. >> Sir, is anything bothering you right now? >> This service sucks. >> Hey, what's that on >> She was uh >> Are you wanting to go to the hospital? >> Check the pulse. >> He's somewhere else. >> Checked out more than we just checked you out. >> I'm sorry, Laura. >> Anything >> I know I know this is totally bad, but the bathroom is having >> Nothing. >> Is anything bothering you specifically? >> I have to >> He's dancing. >> Hey, so that's >> Go ahead and back to the Buchanan yard. >> I think he's going to go to the hospital. >> Can I go ride with him on the way? >> You all right? >> Yep. >> All right. >> I know. >> All right. >> Thanks, man. What's going to happen, man? Real position. >> Swing your feet up right now. Do it now. Feet up there. Don't say Damn water. Sorry. You is mother You. Piece of [ __ ] >> You want to keep an eye on all of them, Will. And I'm saying that because I've been through this before. Not in the way that you guys have with Jamie's thing and now this and Brian Durman's thing. Keep an eye on Will and keep an eye on Dom. They need some time off. >> So they might they might they must be really close with the dude that got hit. Um the officer that got hit. The Will Dom and Will those must be like his boys like really on the outside type stuff. That inmate going to have a tough time. Tough time. You you might you might as well rather just get hit hit in the dome, man. Cuz even when you go in the prison you in there for for doing that to a officer? You that that's that's damn near on the same level as like you know, messing with you know, kids and all of that you know, it's it's it's it's going to be you going it's going to be bad. But this time it's not going to be really from the other inmates, you know, dealing with you know, when somebody is in there for like messing with kids and stuff like you know, it be like other inmates and officers that you know, get them together. But doing something like this to an officer them officers going to be on your ass boy every day. It's going to be bad. >> I'm going to take you to the ER unit. We're going to go to UK ER. >> Don't say a word. You keep your mouth shut. You just tried to turn the gun on yourself. >> You're going to have to stay awake. Did you do any heroin? Your pupils are really small right now. That's not really addictive of cocaine. >> Yeah. Yeah, you are sorry. That boy had kids. Yeah. Yeah, all my Just shut up. Just don't say nothing else. Shut up. Shut up. Just don't talk. It's not that hard. Keep your mouth shut. >> Sir, I'm going to have to Narcan you if you don't stay awake. >> I don't think you need to be Narcan. What kind of drugs you taking? >> I don't know. This is my life. Heroin. Sir, you have not done cocaine. Your pupils are small. Okay. If you fall asleep again, we're going to have to Narcan you. >> Keep your eyes open. Wake up. This ain't something you need to be falling asleep for. Keep your eyes open. >> Put him in the bed cuz we can't treat him like >> Okay, wake up. No. Just wake up. Wake up. Stay awake. >> Hey sir, I'm Dr. Kim. I'll be your doctor. What's going on? Are you having any symptoms at all? No? Okay, that's good. >> Stay awake. Stay awake. >> Open your eyes. >> He says he took cocaine. >> After their arrest, Steven's alleged girlfriend, Monica Harden, was charged with one count of second-degree criminal facilitation of a burglary, one count of criminal facilitation of theft by unlawful taking, and one count of what is listed as an other felony state offense. The Kentucky Department of Corrections indicates she was sentenced to 3 years of probation, which is said to end in November of 2026. However, she also held a warrant in Ohio for charges including two counts of breaking and entering, one count of theft from a person in a protected class, and one count of grand theft auto. For her Ohio case, some charges were dismissed and others were reduced to a lesser charge, and she was ultimately convicted on one count of misdemeanor theft and one count of attempted grand theft auto. While it is not clear via Ohio's court website what she was sentenced, these charges carry a maximum consecutive sentence of 18 months in prison, meaning if she was sentenced to the maximum, she has already been released by the time this video is published. Steven's charges and sentence were more clearly defined. He was charged with one count of murder of a police officer, two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, three counts of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree wanton endangerment, one count of first-degree assault, and two counts of burglary. Many of his charges came with persistent felony offender sentence enhancements. According to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, Steven was convicted on all counts and was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, plus a combined 170 years. If you would like to donate to David, the surviving victim who was shot twice in the stomach by Steven during the second carjacking, we've provided a GoFundMe link in the description below. >> Unbelievable. Unbelievable. This is just really, really sad. Really, really sad, man. These people are really like real lowlifes. Real lowlifes, man. Real lowlifes. [ __ ] scumbags, man. I know those officers really wanted to do it to them. I I I could tell. I could I could tell. Just shut up. Shut up, [ __ ] piece of [ __ ] scumbag. Yeah, I That's how it goes, man. Life in there is going to suck. Suck. I mean >> [clears throat] >> doing life in there for for that. You got to People don't realize everything goes through the officer. In prison, everything goes to the office through the officer. You want toilet paper, guess who you got to come see. You want to go take a shower, guess who you got to come see. You want to go to the gym, guess who you got to go see. You want to go to child, guess who you got to go see. You want to go to your visit, guess who you got to go see. Like, you got to get a package from your family. Guess who you got to come see. You're getting mail. Guess who you got to come see. The officer. You want a toothbrush, guess who you got to come see. Toothpaste? Guess who you got to come see. Soap? Guess who you got to come see. Everything comes through the officer. And yet in there for doing that to you know, yes, corrections and police officers are two different things, but it's still law enforcement. It's still the same. You in there for doing that? You think you're going to get your full package? No. No. When your family send you packages, you think the good snacks and stuff ain't going to be missing? Yeah, they're going to be missing. Okay? You order yourself what they call a butt man. Butt man is a um it's a XXX magazine, right? They could get They could get things like that in there. Um unless you're like one of those sex offenders and stuff like that, then no. But regular like him, he would be able to get stuff like that. When you order them, do you think you're going to get it? No. Nope. You're not going to get it. You know, it's just damn. Your life is going to be rough as it is being in jail or being in prison. But literally all the the things that you could get um is going to be limited. Okay? It's just the way it is. It's going to be limited. And then if you can't get it from your officer, which is not right, right? They should get everything that they But I'm giving you the real. You come here for the real deal. I'm going to I'm going to tell you how it really is. Not that [ __ ] Let's pretend like everything is No. This is the real deal. So, he's not going to get all that stuff.
