Today we have a video from a matter of crime and the title of the video is mom leaves two children in car for over an hour just to see boyfriend trying to get her cheeks clapped. Huh. Okay. >> Parked the car at 10:26 and haven't been back out. That's a problem. >> This woman had just been arrested from leaving her kids in the vehicle for about an hour. But this wouldn't be the only problem she'd be facing that night as officers uncovered something else just seconds later. >> So, you have a warrant out of King County? Yeah. Why didn't you tell me that? >> And just like that, what started as a welfare check turned into something much more. On July 12th, 2025 in Palatine, Illinois, Cook County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 12,200 block of Woodbury Lane after reports that two three-year-old children had been left alone in a parked car. When officers arrived, they found the toddlers inside unattended. >> We got your phone back. Don't worry. >> Yeah, they're just talking to grandma. So, grandma's going to come pick you guys up. Okay. And then you guys get to go home where all your toys are, right? You guys getting tired? >> Yeah. Me, too. >> Okay. Um, >> I got a gun, too. >> What happened? >> I got a gun, too. >> You're going to go, too? >> He's He's asking why we got a gun. >> Yes, >> I didn't got a gun. >> Why do police have gun? Because sometimes there's bad guys with guns, right? >> And it's trying to soup by gun. >> Yeah. We don't We don't want to do that though. >> We want to shoot guns. >> And we pretend to shoot it. >> Toy guns are fun. >> Like water guns. Those are my favorite. >> We got water guns. >> I'm going to shoot the water gun. >> I want to shoot the water gun at the back. quickly and I would quickly get to the house and knock the door. >> All right. >> She just basically left them here and left. >> Yeah. So, what we're going to do is grandma's coming. We're going to take these guys. We're going to get FD just to get them checked out. Wait for grandma. Grandma leaves >> with them. We're calling BCFS, letting them know, let them grandma >> and if she shows up, we're arresting her. Obviously, the child endangerment is the car running. Are there keys in this car? >> Do you guys have keys for the car? >> Yeah. >> The keys is right there. >> Oh, okay. All right. >> She's on our way. >> Okay. I told you we just get here and we'll just talk. >> Yeah. So, we'll get ED. you want to get FD rolling. They get them checked out, which they'll just, you know, do their normal thing here. And then, um, like I said, so grandma's going to take them. They'll call DCFS, letting her know the whole situation. She shows up, we arrest her. I'm going to go. >> The children told police their mother had gone into a nearby home. The officer found the children's grandmother's contact and immediately contacted to come pick up the kids. I call people. >> So, she's saying that the mom could possibly be a friend's house in one of these. So, >> just went to the second floor. This comes back. >> I think it's 2A. >> Yeah, I think it's >> She said she lives in 2 A. That's why they >> Oh, that's why they called us. Okay, that makes sense. >> But she's there. She's saying that she went inside to her friend's place. Just knock on the doors. >> Okay. >> Do you know whose car this is? No. >> Yeah. Yeah. something. >> Have you guys ever seen an ambulance before? >> Yeah. All right. >> Only the police. Well, now you get to meet some firemen or paramedics. Okay. All right. Honestly, I I wouldn't go knocking on doors because this is just building the case. I mean, she's already in the wrong 100%. But the time that it would take her to come back to the vehicle, you know, and it's also a she's in a lose-lose situation. One, you shouldn't do this in general, period. Right. But two, if you don't leave the keys in the car and with the AC on or whatever the case may be, they're going to say that, you know, the car was too hot or the car was whatever, they didn't have heat, you know, or, you know, it was too cold, whatever the case may be. But if you leave the keys in the car, then they're going to say, "Well, somebody could have just hopped in the car and took your kids away and or and took the car with your kids in it and you wouldn't have known nothing." That's why it's a lose-lose situation. So, the best thing to do is you trying to get your, you know, you're trying to get cracked. Let's be honest here. You know, you went to your friend's house cuz you're trying to get your guts rearranged. All right? Right. But just take the kids, you know, I know this is going to cramp the style and everything, you know, whatever. Or be a mom first, you know, and go have your fun on your off time when you don't have the kids. That would be the best thing to do, you know? Just when you a mom, you a mom. That's it, you know. Hold on. This it's a little sideways. Okay, there we go. But yeah, uh damn, but leaving your kids in the car to get your guts rearranged, it's like, come on, man. Dang. No selfdiscipline, man. >> Nearby, a resident stepped forward with CCTV footage showing exactly when the mother arrived, confirming the children had been alone for nearly an hour. In between, the Palatine Fire Department arrived and evaluated the kids, who were thankfully unharmed. Moments later, the mother walked out of the building the car was parked in front of and the officer immediately did the needful. >> You guys didn't see whose car this is, did you? >> Well, no. We just saw the little kids there earlier for like >> And you didn't call and tell us? >> No, it's cuz we found their mom was like, >> they were smiling at us and they had a phone. >> Is that your car? >> Yeah. >> Hey, you want to step out here cuz you you left your kids in the car? Yeah. Put your shoes on. >> Hey, Mom. What's your name? >> Lilia. >> Lily, come talk with me about my car real quick. Okay. They're going to get checked out, but we got to talk to you. >> Come over by my car. >> We definitely got to talk conversation. >> Yes. >> Hair look a little messy. Oh, yeah. >> All right, Mom. What's going on? >> What's going on? Ah, >> the problem is you parked the car at 10:26 and haven't been back out. That's a problem. Okay. So, they're going to get checked out by FD. Okay. All right. I need to put your hands on here, please. >> Can I put this stuff in my car? >> You can put on the hood. >> And is my car going to be good? >> We're going to have a conversation after we talk with the fire department. Is my car going to be good? >> What about your kids? >> Is my car going to be good? >> You might want to talk to I'm not sure about your kids. >> She don't care. She just care about the car. That's all she care about. >> Who's going to pump it on my kids? So, you have a choice. grandma or DCFS comes and fix them. >> Okay. Because they've been in there since 10:26. >> Only reason why we know that somebody has a video of you parking the car and you walking out. >> Robert, you left them in a running vehicle. >> They could push pedals, shift it. Who knows what could happen. >> That's a problem, huh? >> I think you understand it. So, if you need to make up with >> She don't care. You wasting her time. You wasting time talking to her like this, man. She was trying to get her eggs cracked. Let's be honest here. She was trying to get her eggs cracked, man. That's what's going on. She don't care. You ain't got to give her the rundown as if you her parent or whatever. She a grown adult. She know right from wrong. She decided to do whatever she wanted to do. She wanted to get her eggs cracked and that's what happened. Man, take her ass to jail. Send them kids with somebody that is is appropriate because she No. >> So that you have some type of a support system or something. You can't leave them in the car at 10:30 at night. Let me see if FD has to talk to you. I'm not sure. >> Emotionless. I don't care. Okay. So, >> my mom, >> we talked to you, Mom. >> So, is she on her way? She Yeah, she's going to come and take you, take the kids. >> Um, obviously DCFS is going to be notified. >> Um, okay. So, what about my car? >> Well, that's somebody's parking spot. They're going to be able to take it home. >> I don't know if two people are coming. Your mom and your dad? >> I don't know. We We'll figure that out in a minute. >> As the officers finalized her arrest, they discovered something else. >> We have to get some information about the kid's names and date of birth before you guys take >> Yeah. So, we have all their info. Do you want to talk to her about anything else? >> No. So you have all the kids? >> Yeah, we have all their kids involved. Yeah, she's got a warrant, so she's going to go. Grandparents are coming to take them. >> Yeah, we got that. So you guys are fine with that. So as long as we can get that, we give you a quick report and we're we're going to still do a trial. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Awesome. >> So you have a warrant out of King County? >> Why didn't you tell me that? I didn't ask, but All right. So, wait. So, obviously you're going to be going to jail the night, see a judge in the morning, and then what was I don't even know what's it for tomorrow. >> Traffic for it. >> Okay. All right. So, they'll end up giving you a new court date and the whole thing with DCFS. I don't know if you've ever have you dealt with them before. No issues before. I mean, that's a good thing, you know, but they're still going to want to show up at your house. you know, they're going to do some visits and make sure that everything's good. Okay. Um, as far as the car, do you need any keys off of this or somebody will be home when you get out? >> Let me give them to your mom. >> I could take the one off the little this little thing. I could take this. >> That's all you need? Those housekeep? Yeah. your wipes and your money. What do you want to do with the money? >> Um, you want to put this stuff in your car? >> Yeah. Can I >> put in your >> Cuz if you know what my bond would be. >> No. They might be able to tell you at lockup, but I don't know. Or give it to your parents or you don't want to. >> Am I able to take it with me? >> Yeah. Yeah. It's your money. >> So, you'll take your You want to take your phone? Yeah. Your phone, your money, and your keys. Cool. >> This I'll put back in your car. >> Can I go look at my kids? >> So, what uh when they're done, let them get checked out. Um, I don't really want them I don't know about them seeing you in handcuffs. Um, but >> she don't care. >> They're cleared. You want to peek in kind of thing. Say, you know, you got to go. Whatever you want to tell them. Okay. Um, I'm fine with that. Okay. >> I might go to at least move my car like to the regular. >> It'll be up to your mom. >> Okay. This is kind of a big deal. >> I know. You know, 5 minutes might be I ran in to grab something. That's still trouble, but it's not. >> Okay. >> Officers learned the woman also had an outstanding warrant, sealing her fate at the scene. She was taken into custody without further incident. Damn, that was an abrupt ending. All right. Yeah, man. That's what happened, you know. She went in there. Rally got real lonely, you know, but she got the kids, you know. Women got needs, too, man. You know, but the problem is you got kids. So, went in there, got her eggs cracked, came out, and now you got a bigger situation. Hope it was worth it. Unbelievable. Uh, yeah. So, I get officers, man. Five out of five. They did their thing, man. They did their thing. But talking to her, she don't care. She It's just in one ear, out the other. It is what it is. She her doing this, it's selfish. It shows her selfishness. Okay. The only person she gave a crap about was herself. Even to have the young kids like that out that late. You went in at 10:30. You were gone for almost an hour. What is kids doing out that late at, you know, come on now. Anyways, um and shout out grandma too, man. You would think if grandma got a call from the from the police, grandma would be calling the mom. Why? What's going on? and yada yada yada. But grandma didn't even call the mom cuz the mom didn't even know that grandma was coming. So [ __ ] grandma like, "Hey, I'm coming to get my babies." You know how grandmas do, you know? Grandma's grandparents, man. It's like, yo, kids be like 10 times closer to their grandparents than their actual parents. It it it's it's crazy. But anyways, uh yeah, but um yeah, so five out of five from me. Let me know in the comment section below how well you think the officers did. I'm glad you made it till the end of the video.
