was filming the results of a traffic collision after being on scene for quite some time officer blackford of the birmingham police department developed an interest in him and threatened him with a jaywalking ticket i can't see your face can i can i help you oxford today can i help you what's your name what is your name i think what's your name because i'm going to write you a ticket for jaywalk and i need to see your license cut into the middle of the road blocking traffic and jaywalking can i see your license i don't have any okay you can go back and get your car and get out of my private sector have your name and your bags my name is austin blackford rightfully put your badge number you see a number on there what's your background 3531. have a good day brother we've covered jaywalking on this channel before most states have similar laws regarding it alabama's is covered under 32-58-212 which defines jaywalking as between adjacent intersections at which traffic control signals are in operation that means if there is a traffic control signal at these two intersections without an intersection between them you must cross at either light if however there is an intersection without a traffic control signal between the two intersections with traffic control signals then you can cross anywhere along this road as long as you yield to traffic and don't cross diagonally this intersection here which is where newsnow alabama crossed negates the jaywalking claim he didn't receive a ticket but it is believed that this incident and others that he has filmed caused the department to put a bolo on newsnow alabama to warn officers that he films their encounters some time later news now alabama was driving through traffic caused by another traffic collision with his blinker on and room to merge out of a blocked lane he attempted a lane change someone honked he let them go first and then look who he drives past oh [Music] newsnow alabama pulled over and recorded the scene and officer blackford from the jaywalking incident comes over to greet him i'm going to scream i know why were you trying to cause an accident i didn't do anything i saw you in the room in front of traffic you thought i was gonna blow the horn you thought i blew the horn it was not me no it was the other car that blew the horn because you cut them off no i did not yes sir you did i saw it hey that's your go-to line you idiot big bad ass officer blackford writes newsnow alabama a ticket for reckless driving which is covered under 32-58-190 and is defined as driving carelessly and heedlessly in willful or wanton disregard for the rights or safety of persons or property or without due caution and circumspection at a speed or in a manner or be likely to endanger any person or court date is may 17th at 9 00 a.m if you're carrying contest if not instructions on how to pay or on the back any other questions you've got you can call that 254 or 2152 phone number [Applause] [Applause] six foot [Applause] and cut that off so you can either take your citation which is not an admit and skill it's just that you will show up for court date or we can go down to the jail right now and handle this immediately you get your supervisor over here he's already here getting here talking about him okay until then officer blackford now puts news now alabama in cuffs until sergeant justice presents court date is himself 17 2021 at 9 00 a.m just like this this is not an admission of guilt this is a traffic citation if you wish to uh have uh this further discussed in court you're more than welcome to come to court and the address do you have a vote are you familiar with 801 17 street board it's on your ticket you can just gps it if you want to hear your name again i'm sergeant justice [Applause] recording that lady that was on the accident who was having a bad day that was the only problem [Applause] you're not a man [Applause] in public you think you scare people you don't i'm not sir do you think it's the first ticket i've got from people thugs like you you're mistaken you're a dog i'm just not going to be intimidated by you and your kids i'm not intimidated by you either you don't have to be i'm not trying to i've explained that to you i have no issues with what you're doing yes you do no sir i don't and you can say that all you want i do not have an issue with what you're doing do you really think it's gonna take your mother's name it doesn't matter that's not the point that's got absolutely nothing to do with it [Applause] go to work just get your ass out there and go to work [Applause] the truly interesting thing about this video happens after the citation is issued when newsnow alabama asked the sergeant how they knew what name to issue the citation too sir [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] i don't know how they got it but they found out who you were everybody knows we distributed it throughout all the officers in there because there you are absolutely thank you for admitting it on camera he was on the lookout for me and nobody wants to arrest you buddy and at the end of the day you got your day in court you can go you can go fight this ticket for it this will help out because you just said you was on the lookout for me we have to look after you sir because we think it might be a danger to us but dangerous yeah all the videos you put have you ever been one of those you remember the people who invaded the capitol you could be one of those people sovereign citizens well you have sovereign sentences and tendencies that's you know so what we do is we need to know who you are and stuff you're the only one nobody's gonna arrest you nobody's like so far oh you think you're above the law he thinks he's above the law absolutely not you're the sovereign it's not me i mean you know what that's three opinions free countries we're not we're not china man you can do whatever you want you know you just admit he was going to look out for me if we were on the lookout for you sir we'd arrest you all the time we just need to know who you are we don't have to arrest you but if we could we you know what i'm saying we don't have to but we need to know who you are just in case you do with something dangerous but you would like to arrest me i don't want to arrest anybody sir i get paid by the hour not by the arrest you said you'd like to arrest me all the time no i didn't and you know i didn't say that but repeat it again what i said was if we needed to we could but we don't because we know who you are we just need to make sure you weren't a threat since you're not a threat you're a journalist you're not a threat but i do need you to get back on the sidewalk i need you i need to get back on the sidewalk needs to get back on the sidewalk you can get back on the sidewalk sir because i want you to be safe i don't want you getting hurt what if you got hit by a car it's not your daughter protect me that's fine i mean i i just i protect you know the kindness of my heart how about that you don't protect anybody oh man i never do never ever no ever no oh man you just felt [ __ ] offered to block for a day i don't know yeah you fell first bull [Applause] your old city knows about a bunch of tyrants this is pirate your whole city the police department is tyrants did you say pirates or tyrants tyrants but could we also be considered pirates i can't hear you you need hearing aids then too what'd you say you need hearing aids i can't hear you i know you can you know believe it or not i actually like you i'll tell you though if i didn't like you why would i subscribe to your new song because if you like me you'll come up and tell him to buy golf i know i can't tell him to back off that's awesome see he didn't have to write this ticket he could have given you a warning that's his distress not mine but he doesn't we don't have to give warnings we do because sometimes it's our best interest but seriously i am i do follow your thing and uh and you know you got a loyal fan base and you know i don't i don't really have anything against you and you'd be surprised sometimes i agree with you thank you because of who i am listen the difference in us in communist china is a free and healthy news they call it the fourth estate that's the difference between us and like tyranny so when i say i literally dig some of the stuff you do i'm not kidding okay so you have a tire you have a tyrant working for you there that's your opinion i mean i i can't tell you not that he give me a ticket in
