hope you can sleep well at night all right you just heard the voice of Matt Strickland the owner of gormelts a family-owned restaurant in Fredericksburg Virginia Matt is an army veteran who served multiple tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan after his enlistment he decided to take advantage of the American dream of improving his life thriving under Liberty and pursuing happiness and it all started when he poured his time and resources into his food truck one thing led to another and Matt and his wife decided to park their food truck and open their own restaurant gourmelts Gourmet Artisan melts and things were going pretty good the restaurant's popularity grew business was great customers were satisfied and Matt was thinking about expanding and then the Virginia state government decided to shut everything down in March of 2020 for for the safety of Virginians of course because adding government to the equation always makes things better Freer more prosperous and less oppressive it's always about your safety and it's never about removing freedoms and controlling the masses now Matt's restaurant has repeatedly made headlines for defying Virginia's convid 1984 mandates during the height of the pandemic and battling to maintain its licenses you know those little permission slips people think they need to have life liberty and happiness was recently subject to a search and seizure by the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority on the morning of December 2nd thankfully Matt recorded the order followers who turned off their minds seared their consciences walked onto his property and began stripping a fellow American of his livelihood and just to let you know before you watch this the way this was recorded somehow the audio and video is not synced up so there's a lot of delay what's going on man for what these transactions so what are y'all doing alcohol so you hear the confiscate all of my alcohol and what else records came to the sale hey what else is that it is you here to confiscate my POS systems you guys felt the need to bring all of these police officers here just to do that this morning [Music] and what's the reason what's the reason for you guys coming into my business confiscating my POS systems confiscating my alcohol what's the reason for that right so they were they revoked my license for not following covet mandates so now you guys are coming to confiscate all my stuff for that right how do you feel about that yeah but how do you feel how do you feel about coming to shut a man's business now for not public health and safety when they tarantically decide that following orders is far more important than doing the things they know to be right they begin to lie to themselves convincing their own hearts that they are the good guys and everybody who resists their violently enforced will are the bad guys this is how countries descend into totalitarianism this is how even the enforcers and the enforcers families begin to lose their rights their livelihoods and their lives I spent many years of my life overseas fighting for my country just to come home and have the same government that I fought for destroy everything that I've worked my entire life for but you're just doing your job man just doing your job I have no idea how any of you guys can live with yourselves every day and lay your head down on your pillow and sleep soundly knowing that sure contributed to the destruction of the United States of America that's what you're doing right now you're not protecting and serving anything and I've got a lot of respect for the police a lot of respect for police officers who put their lives on the line every day for me but this is not what that uniform is about it's not what you're doing right now is government overreach what you're doing right now is supporting the tyrannical government is tyranny and you're involved in it you're complicit with it [Music] and it wouldn't
