can't require a permit for a First Amendment protected activity it's already been ruled upon in the Supreme Court against Ocean City two years ago you're gonna need to check with your State's Attorney's office first you I'm sure you have an intake officer you represent or that you deal with and they're going to tell you that you cannot require a permit for a guy to hold a political sign please call them actually call your supervisor out here and let him get in on this as well as the State's Attorney's office the Supreme Court has ruled that standing here isn't loitering because I'm actually engaged actively in protesting redressing grievances with my government which is first amendment protected under the Bill of Rights the right to petition you're also required to wear a face mask within 16 or anybody else in public okay there we go you walked up to me all due respect okay well I've already called your police department and your Police Department told me you would not cite me or arrest me for any anything related to The Mask law so that would be entrapment if you did today because you've already your superiors already told me that they're not arresting or ticketing anybody for any mask infractions because it's not a real law because it's an executive order and it doesn't hold weight in court one of your supervisors I called Annapolis Police and I also called Anne Arundel just to be sure I didn't get like sideswiped so yep and I talked to my attorney in the American civil liberties Union before coming here so there can be no law that a bridge is Free Speech let alone an ordinance that requires me to get a uh permit to carry a sign so and this isn't like a large organized protest this is one guy with a sign that you don't like I see people walking around here with signs for all sorts of other causes and standing around you know this is the capital this is where you go to redress Grievances and I've never seen you guys harass anybody but me thank you this many guys for a guy with a sign just think about it this many guys because you disagree with my message my free speech what's your name sir I'm not gonna ID because I haven't committed block the free flow of traffic that's not what I mean to do I just mean to spread my message about my opinion of Governor Larry Hogan and his lockdown orders that have destroyed businesses across the state I don't like the guy personally that's just my thing I voted for him twice you think you don't think I'm too vague with my sign maybe maybe I'm leaving too much too much to the imagination cool
