Be completely honest. What would you do if somebody charged at you like this? >> I'll spray the you mother. Stay the back. Stay the back. >> So you assaulted him? >> He assaulted me. >> He touched you. Before we get into this video where the lawn crime network dishonestly covers this first amendment auditor, welcome to this world audits, we got to understand that the main difference between assault and battery is that assault is the threat of harm while battery is the actual physical contact. Assault happens when somebody makes you reasonably fear that you're about to be physically hurt. Not that you are physically hurt, but that you're about to be. Like raising a fist, making a verbal threat, or charging at somebody. It doesn't require any physical touch. If you swing at somebody and you miss, well, that's assault. Assault is what happened when this angry Michigan shop owner, who shouldn't have been angry at all, made the conscious decision to charge at and intimidate. Welcome to this world media. Battery happens when somebody actually makes unwanted, harmful, or offensive physical contact with you, like hitting, punching, or poking. It doesn't have to cause a severe injury, but touch has to happen for battery. No touch is required for assault. Having laid that groundwork, let's take a look at how the Law and Crime Network tries to smear the auditing community as they make the aggressors against auditors look like the victims. >> He was filming content for his YouTube channel when he was confronted by local business owners. >> What the hell? >> What's your problem, lady? Ow. >> As they came face to face, the situation would only escalate which caused police to [music] get involved. >> I'll spray the you mother. Stay the back. Stay the back. >> So you assaulted him. >> He assaulted me. >> He touched you. >> That's battery would be touching me. Assaulting me is making putting me in fear of [music] my safety. >> This YouTube account has amassed tens of thousands of followers. But after what happened on this particular day, the creator would be telling his viewers, "See you soon before heading to jail." It's January 6, 2026. We're in Marine City, Michigan, a city about an hour south of Detroit. Just before 11:30 that morning, officers with the Marine City Police Department respond to Zimmerman's meat market. While body cam video is rolling, other cameras appear to be rolling, too. >> This dude just charged at me and I had to pepper spray his ass. shaking >> is on the way here. >> Which one? >> Me. >> Okay. I need some ID out of you, sir. >> Now, a lot has clearly happened prior to officers arriving. According to the owner of Zimmerman's, he had just been maced by one of the three people holding cameras. >> What was the purpose of you ming him? >> He charged me. >> I was in contact with you. >> Look at him shaking. What do you mean? >> I'm not going to let him I'm not going to let him touch me. >> You think I'm going to let him touch me? >> So you assaulted him? >> He assaulted me. >> He touched you. >> That's battery would be touching me. Assault. >> See, cops have a profound misunderstanding of even their own laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations. Assault and battery are two very simple concepts to understand. This guy's saying or asking during his investigation the wrong question. So he's not going to get the right answer and he's not listening to this auditor >> me is making putting me in fear of my safety. Okay. When he's running at me after I told him >> guys one at a time >> I told him to stay back stay back stay back probably five six times as I walk him back >> he's having a issue because we're recording out here and then freaks out. We're making a video for YouTube. Okay. We're traveling the city. We had a great conversation with many of the business owners and then we come here and this guy freaks out. She freaked out first, got him. He got all angry and then came out like he was going to >> told him, "Get back. Get back. Get back." >> Believe me, I I That's the first time I've ever had to use pepper spray. Okay. And I >> I've been doing this for a year and a half now. >> Camera on him and you can see him running. He literally ran him. >> That's my wife. >> No, I I >> You see how big that freaking >> Heck yeah, man. I don't scared as >> Now, here's what we learned from court documents. It says, "I pulled up to Zimmerman's and Sarah Hoover ran towards me in the roadway. She was waving her arms, advising that her father had been pepper-sprayed. I told Sarah to go back inside so that she could help her father. I thought he had gone back inside the building. I asked her which person had maced him." The filing goes on to say, "The subject in the blue jacket identified as Ian Fister advised that he had he offered to show me the video." Now, Ian's YouTube channel, Welcome to This World Media, has amassed nearly 30,000 subscribers on YouTube. Under the description on YouTube, it reads, "The official channel of WTTW Media, we are fire and ice, husband and wife civilian journalists from the mighty mitten state. Making sure our government employees and civil servants respect our right to record in public spaces for press purposes and to expose and hold those accountable if they don't. Our main goal is to educate the American public of our rights. If you know of any tyrants in the Metro Detroit area who need a visit from us, please feel free to let us know. Public photography is not a crime. It is an American right. Now, during this January 6, 2026 incident, Ian claims he was just protecting himself. But the information officers have gathered so far, it seems Ian might have been the aggressor. >> Well, we've had numerous complaint. Why would law and crime say that when they just played the video at the very start of their video? >> Complaints about you guys intimidating people. >> Intimidating by recording. >> We never said anything to anybody. The people came and yelled at us and it's all on camera. We've been here for an hour. >> Were you in a restaurant and asked to leave and refused to leave when you were vaping? >> Nope. >> Can't vape in a restaurant. We were never >> inside of any business ever today. None. Not one. >> Just simply on the public sidewalk. None of that has anything to do with this particular investigation or this incident. >> Doing a constitutionally protected activity on the street freedom oppress doing a story on the city. Okay. Checking out the businesses and all that. >> One is on the way >> and then this guy these two freak out. >> I I locked the door off. I didn't even come out here. We didn't try to go in looking for you. >> I never touched him. I talked to him. They >> Okay, Sarah. I'll I'll be with you in a minute. Okay. Just take care of dad. I'm trying to go to the ambulance. >> Bring his eyes on some water already. Jesus Christ. >> Now, this group of YouTubers are known in the case report as the auditors. And the auditors have been filming a bunch of content in town, including the incident in question. >> No, I know. I know you guys have been through town. Everybody's been calling on you, and we're telling everybody the same thing. They're doing everything illegal. They're on public property. We're not going to stop them. We're not even going to engage in you and talk to you. You're doing everything you can legally. >> Okay. >> We're not rude to people. >> No. Somebody asked you to leave your business. You've left the business. You're doing everything by the book. Awesome. Good for you guys. You want to videotape all you want? All you want. >> I appreciate it. >> He was. >> So, the cop acknowledges that they are engaged in a First Amendment protected activity. The cop says that he's informed the people who've called in that this is a First Amendment protected activity and now they're there to investigate. a man who's charging another man who's engaged in First Amendment protected activity. That's the lay of the land right now. >> He was taken aback that you were videotaping his business. He said all he was doing was trying to walk by you to go talk to him that was sitting at the corner and that's you pepper spray. >> That is utter BS. >> I said I haven't seen the video yet. >> I I can show or my wife can show. I don't know. I >> can see it. I'll I'll stop it and show you >> if you don't mind. Let the officer see it. Go under the uh awning so we're out of the rain a little bit. Come over here. >> This way. This way. >> Does it have uh audio [laughter] also? >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. >> Very. >> So, she's going to show the cop the evidence. And on the scene, he's going to have the evidence that the Michigan store shop owner, this this meat market owner, actually charged at the man with the camera. It was going directly at him, gave no indication that he's going to walk past him and go to a cop down the street. >> Go back. Go back further. >> So, when he first when this big guy first appears, >> uh, I'm not even going to try to fast forward because it's just going to skip. sweat and [ __ ] >> We're good then. >> I was literally on that side. >> Stay tuned cuz we're going to see what's on her phone directly from her camera in a second. Way better quality. >> There is a community mental health facility right down the street. >> Like I said, we're going to see that from her camera. >> From her YouTube channel in a second. Here. >> Do you see it again? >> No, we're good. >> Maybe. Oh, banner. Put a banner on. >> It's going to take a lot of butcher paper to hang that up. >> Jesus. [snorts] >> Oh, wow. Really? >> Seriously, they're going to cover the window. >> What the hell? >> Yourself? >> What's your problem, lady? Wow, that's insane. >> In the age of YouTube, I cannot comprehend why any business owner would do this to people outside their shop standing on a public sidewalk with cameras when they know this could literally go global and they're making themselves look bad by acting like Darren's and Karens. >> There is a community mental health facility right down the street. >> Right. >> Here we go. >> Spray the Stay back. Stay back. >> Clearly charging Ian in an intimidating way. Did not give any indication that he was going to walk past Ian down the street to a cop waiting on the corner. >> You did. >> No, you didn't. Charging out here. >> Now you're done. >> Nope. You're done, son. >> Walking to the cop car. >> Bull. >> No, I did not. >> Yeah, you did. >> Okay. >> Five five cameras. >> Cops in an ambulance right now. Get the cops in. >> Right. Charge at somebody again. >> Charge right in. >> He did not. I was watching. >> It's all on camera that he charged him 25 feet. >> Yeah. It's pepper spray. >> Tell that mother get me an ambulance right now. >> She did. [snorts] >> He didn't do anything. >> He didn't do anything. >> Now, that was only one point of view of what happened. Let's look at the video Ian captured on his phone. Okay. >> First, it begins with Ian, his wife, and another individual seemingly admiring the Zimmerman's meat market. >> Yeah, that's a remake. It's digital. >> Is it? >> It's made to look. Yeah. >> Cool. Look at that. I like it. >> Made to look like an old one. [laughter] >> Retro, but new technology. >> Yeah. >> National. >> Boy, their showcases aren't very full. Maybe they just opened. and they haven't brought everything out yet, >> right? Or maybe they don't need to have that much because there's not that many people around. They only keep what they know won't go bad. >> About a minute later, the owner of Zimmerman's comes to the door asking why they're recording her store. >> Can I help you? >> Um, what kind of help you offering? >> Well, I'm the business owner and you're recording and I don't really love that for >> you don't love it. Why? >> Well, what can I do for you? >> Uh, we don't need no help. Why are you recording? >> Uh, making a video >> for what? >> Can I ask for a video for please? >> For YouTube alone, >> girls. Jeez, what a rotten. >> Yeah, that's not the way to come out. Oh, lights off. >> Oh, really? >> Lights off. >> I can still see the lunch menu. That's [laughter] what I was reading. After the owner goes to the back of the store, she later reappears with her dad. >> Oh, they're freaking >> I can't tell what the other ones are. >> They're freaking in there. >> Oh, that guy isn't coming out here. >> I thought he was. >> I thought he was, too. >> He thought better. >> Oh, look. Oh, look at that. >> He's trying to block my view. Isn't that funny? What a creep. Look at all this for sale. But don't look at it. Locally raised idiots. >> No, little man. You come here, you >> the shuffle. >> He's going to do cam back. >> That's insane. We need a cop here now. >> Oh, we need a cop here now. >> We need a cop here now. >> Hurry. I got warranties. >> Don't call the police, sir. Please don't do it. >> Now, there are mixed feelings about going out in front of private businesses and recording and, you know, making people mad. But you know what? You make yourself mad. Nobody's making you mad. You're get you're choosing to be upset. You're choosing to call men with guns to take care of those dastardly men outside your window with cameras on a public sidewalk. That says everything you need to know about the shop owner. Now, you may not like it when people record businesses, but they have the right to do it. They're not hurting anybody. And this is the business owner's opportunity to put forward a good step, a good face for their business. And a lot of times they just can't do it. Now, if you look at Amigans Press and some of these other auditors who train their cameras on private businesses, some of these private business owners come out and they offer a free cup of coffee or they have a smiling face or they shake their hand. Hey, I'm totally for the First Amendment. Record all you like. It's a free country. We appreciate you. And then they go back in and then everybody in the world sees what a great business owner that is. And then it utterly backfires on these guys. Well, sometimes because a lot of people actually take the side of the business owner when they get mad at a cameraman. But is that really the direction you want to go? Do you really want to call men with guns to combat all these evil people with cameras? I'm personally not into the recording private businesses. I'd rather see government institutions held accountable like post offices, sheriff's departments, police departments, banks who steal our money. I'm not into the private business establishment recording, but it's a free country. It's supposed to be a free country, and you're supposed to be able to exercise your right without men with guns harassing you or without shop owners charging and intimidating you. >> There's a sheriff right there. >> Please don't call the cops. >> Or is that the uh regular police? And there's probably border patrol crews around too >> right there. >> For several minutes, the group appears to taunt the owner and her dad. >> While the dad is inside threatening to call men with guns. What's worse? Taunting the business owner or threatening men with guns. >> Police is right there. >> No. >> Shutting my store down. >> Wow. >> Wow. >> We're shutting the store down by recording from public. >> That's silly. >> That's funny. That's hilarious. >> The cop's right there. >> They're shutting my >> right there. He's parked right there. >> He's right there. >> Jeez. I got a maxi pad in my bag if you need it. >> I think he does. >> Good times create weak men. This shop owner is a weak man. They are making me shut my store down. You did that, sir. Is he hiding back there? Yeah, hiding back there. >> I wonder what that is for. That thing is awesome. Whatever it is, >> I just I don't know how that happened. >> Is it a meat grinder? >> I don't know. Maybe. >> Oh, banner. She put a banner up. >> It's going to take a lot of butcher paper to hang. >> Jesus. >> Oh, wow. Really? >> Seriously? You're going to cover the window? >> What the heck? >> After a few flips of the bird and a few more curse words to follow, you would think it would end there, but as we know, it didn't. >> There is a community mental health facility right down the street. >> Right. I'll spray the you mother. Stay the back. Stay the back. >> Stay the back. >> Stay back. >> Stay back. >> That's it. >> Was he What was he saying? Anything was he? What? >> Can I talk really quick? It's important. Really, really quick. >> It's always important. Yeah. Sarah, I'll meet you inside. >> No, I I don't even need to meet you tonight. I got to go with my dad to the ambulance. He's going to have a cardiac event. Can you make sure my girl's okay? Thank you. Don't he >> Okay. here since you said you needed it. Oh, give it to him. >> The victim had to be transported to the hospital. Court documents say >> the victim. You mean the aggressor lawn crime? Come on, be a journalist. Be a real journalist. >> While awaiting EMS, I interviewed Mr. Hobig. He expressed extreme frustration, stating the police department had failed to protect him from the individual's filming. Mr. >> Protect me from the cameraman. >> Hobic stated that he and Miss Hoover were in fear for their lives, citing previous threats and uncertainty regarding the subject's intentions. But even after the entire pepper spray incident, officers said Ian and the others with him were free to go. >> One of my most viewed videos got 120,000 views. You know, I do got to ask a question. >> You're going to be stupid. >> What's a uh stupid? >> What's a good phone number for you? >> Why on a rainy cold day are you doing this? because he had the day off. Just a day off. >> This is cold. I I wanted to back out of it. >> I don't understand why. I think that's Michigan constitutional auditor. I don't know why he would have to give his ID or why he did give his ID. I don't have any details on that regime. >> So, why did you guys randomly choose municipalities to do it in? Why Marine City? >> Well, we wanted to go and check out about the dog getting shot by when family surrendered it to animal control. Uh, they found it cold and hopped in. They had a whole family in there and it was friendly the whole time. >> Are you Are you locking up? >> Um, I am after I clean a whole bunch of stuff up and lock up your vehicles and stuff. >> Okay, great. I just told you, >> but yeah, we came to cover that story and we stopped here first to meet up. >> All right. Thanks, Austin. >> Oh, fair enough. I didn't mean to cut No, sir. What more do you need? >> I think we're good. >> Okay. All >> righty. So, you tell you what's going to happen. >> Can you send us Can Can we So, we don't have to confiscate everything, right? >> Just send us a link to that video. No problem. >> All three videos if you don't mind. I need a card or whatever. >> I gave her the uh She's got my email. >> Excellent. >> We'll we'll forward it to prosecu, you know, put that that whole section in there if you you want to keep this. >> All right. They have the store shop owner aggressor charging at and intimidating and assaulting Ian from three different camera angles and Ian still goes to jail for 30 days. >> Another come back when this is all said and done. Come get a copy of it. But >> all right. >> Um, >> look, I respect you guys. I understand what you guys do for a living. Torment them in the window. Just record if you don't mind because it we're borderline disorderly conduct. We don't know where that but I know that first >> that's a lie. That is a lie. >> And the cop is not your friend and he doesn't respect first amendment auditors. He doesn't respect the first amendment or the second amendment or the fourth amendment. >> And we just told she in and then she came back with the problem. >> Video. You guys are good. Right. All right. You got anything else for? >> I think we're good. Any questions from you guys? >> No. I'll send that video over. As it turns out, Ian and his crew allegedly disrupted a lot of businesses in the area. According to the case report, on January 8th, 2026, I was asked to make contact with businesses in the downtown area that may have had interaction with the auditors this last Tuesday prior to the incident at Zimmerman's Market. This is what a US post office employee told police. Redacted told me that she thought the auditors came into the post office at about 10:45 Tuesday morning. Three of them entered, two males and one female. She said they were all recording leaning in over the counter, pointing their cameras around the secure area of the post office. >> I have never seen an auditor lean over the counter to videotape what was behind the counter away from everybody else's site. I've only seen them record what can be seen from a public place. >> The final witness report officers received was from an employee at a nearby community mental health center. An employee there told officers that she was working in the building around 10:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. when an employee alerted her about subjects looking into the office windows on the west side of the building. They were using phones to record as well. Redacted said she walked out to the door to talk to them to see what they wanted. She said that they could see computer screens through the windows, which would be a HIPPO violation. At this point, long crime should insert. But uh for the HIPPO violation, only covered entities and their business associates, including the workforce members within those organizations, can violate HIPPA. If there's a privacy situation, it's incumbent on those covered entities and business associates to keep that private information private. But lawn crime doesn't do that because apparently they're not real journalists over there. >> On January 7th, 2026, officers sent their case report to the prosecutor's office for review. 2 days later, prosecutors advised charges will be filed. Ian Fister was charged with aggravated assault. He pleaded not guilty and the case even went on trial. The defense argued Ian was acting in self-defense because he believed Mr. Hobig was about to attack him. But Mr. Hobic says he was walking to talk to a police officer parked nearby after police didn't respond to his 911 calls. And according to prosecutors, he's still suffering from the injuries to his eyes. In late July of 2026, Ian Fister was found guilty of improper use of self-defense spray and aggravated assault. If it's true that they charged him for that and he went to jail and apparently he actually did, then if anybody ever charges at a CNN reporter, a lawn crime reporter, and they take out a can of mace and defend themselves against that advance, against the attacker, against the aggressor, against the person who wants to assault them or looks like they're going to assault them, then they've just set a very dangerous precedent by putting Ian in jail for 30 days. You couldn't even be more clear with this camera evidence that the aggressor was the store shop owner. Look at this again. Let's just back it up. Seems very clear that this guy is looking to go after Ian. He kept advancing toward Ian. Ian gave him a warning. If you keep coming any closer, I'm going to pepper- spray you. He kept coming. He pepper- sprayed him. If this ain't appropriate self-defense, nothing is. that prosecutor needs to be fired and the jury needs to be educated on what assault is. >> In late July of 2026, Ian Fister was found guilty of improper use of self-defense spray and aggravated assault. Ian Fister was sentenced to 30 days in jail. Online jail records with the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office show Ian is scheduled to be released on August 28th of 2026. >> That is an absolute miscarriage of justice. What do you guys think? Do you think that Ian should have gone to jail? Do you think this guy was assaulting Ian? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
