September 12th of 2024 Jerry was leaving his home but stopped at the end of his driveway to pick up the mail when four deputies of the Robertson County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee pulled into his driveway blocking him in the lead vehicle occupied by Deputy Horton was playing the theme song to the Cops TV show as he arrived yeah where's your son he's in jail where Robson C count you want to bet he's not there my son is in jail in Robson County all right do you know who you talking to Sir yeah you remember I came out here last time you don't know who I am all right get out the car get out the car I going get help yeah you know who I am yeah you know you don't know who I am but you my name is Jerry Lee re J this is my property okay but you my son is in Robinson County jail he's not in Robinson County Jail my son is Christian Le go I know who he is now who you looking for who you getting lied with you going to find out who find out nothing okay calm down he need to calm down okay we handcuffs why my handcuffs because you said you're the person on the warrant my name is Jer re j i a no warrant who's it for Deputy Morris now presents the warrant to Corporal Harrison fully aware that they had the wrong person where's your son he's in jail where Robson County but Corporal Harrison knew it too as he had no known Jerry since high school and has interacted with him multiple times as a deputy since 2009 in fact he eventually addresses him by his middle name Lee a name that only those familiar with Jerry use and which is notably absent from the warrant Deputy Horton also confirmed his familiarity with Jerry stating throughout the video we know each other and don't you remember me from last time in fact Porton had visited the same property and spoken with Jerry just two months prior for for the younger one that he saying is in jail but this is my name is Jer Jun I didn't told you who I am I show you my ID he he's saying it's a completely different name his son's a completely different name my son is exctly Christian lyric and I just put money on his books 96 okay I tell you what until we uh determine what's going on and that we are going to search this property you're going to be detained come on I'm not going sir come Hey listen you're going to go in that car willingly or forcefully you making a big mistak no you are make big mistake you're not for you kept saying that you're Jerry Reon so you got detained youed you not you must be looking for my nephew that's in Winchester Tennessee okay I took him to the halfway house we we going to go up here and we going to talk and then we'll figure out what's going on okay only people up there is uh my son-in-law my ex-wife and a baby okay please don't waake the 2-year-old baby up I'm we're going to try to do this as peacefully and as calm as possible but you wern't letting us do that just now I was going to let you do that no you got out you like get off my property cuz I ain't done nothing that he liked the program and that he was in the program so good finding nothing they exit and gather up to figure out what to do with the man they knew they had unlawfully detained I'm sure he knows a lawful right to detain him yeah I don't know if y'all want to get him for resisting or not uh that I'll leave that up to y'all also when he showed me his ID it says ID only and we saw him and I would I would let me run what I would ask him is where was you headed this morning he said I'm going to work or something you know he's fixing get out on the road and go um if uh well he's handcuffed you probably have to read him his rights if you're asking him about a crime um but I mean I don't know can you get him for driving on his own property no cuz he didn't he didn't break if he he never broke the the road if he have been on the road yeah um of course um you know just let him know I've already let him know [ __ ] he he told us he was Jerry reason we said we had a warrant for Jerry reason so if he said he was headed he was headed to work wherever obviously about to leave he got he got to be on we got to see him on the road yeah like the road once he hits the road yeah once he hits the road I know DUI that they're sitting right here in the in the driveway or whatever but they're well they're in control vehicle that's a different thing though that's a different thing even like a DUI if he's driving around on the back side of his property you can't get him for DUI now if yeah with a DUI if he was sitting at the edge of the road and there's the potential for to pull out onto the road and he's in control of that vehicle yeah you could still do that but like I know we arest of the kid he was mudding in his Granddaddy's field and he was fine as long as he was in that field and he was DUI but he pulled out onto the road we saw him drive down the road not 500 yard maybe 400 yards he was on the road for 400 yards and potential for him to get back out on it so we got him mhm we we arrested him on his property in his driveway but we we we observed him on the road but with driving on revoked or suspended you got to see him on the roadway which I mean I wouldn't if that's the case I wouldn't even say anything cuz put it back in the car he I would just take off yeah I'm not going to say nothing to him yeah y'all don't want to get him for resisting okay we not I don't think if there was a use of force he'd be going to jail I don't think anything we did was a use of force potential apparently this is not a use of force in Robertson County tell you what hey force continuum was designed to provide deputies with a standard for when they must exercise control a violent assaultive or resisting individuals to make an arrest or to protect members of the public from risk of imminent harm it states that deputies must attempt to deescalate prior to a use of force the moment Corporal Harrison told Jerry to stop he stopped you who who who who whoa whoa immediately after the deputies affected an unlock awul detention you said you're Jerry re Jerry turn around put your hands behind your back I'm Jerry re turn around put your hands behind your back I'm born in 7 I tell you what you said you're Jer during which the rookie and officer Horton slammed Jerry against his truck wrenching his arms into an unnatural position you should stay calm [Music] brother his arm sir my name is Jerry Le re J Jerry never resisted once he was told to put his hands behind his back but Deputy Horton wrote that Jerry told them no you said you're Jerry re Jerry turn around put your hand behind your back I'm Jerry re turn I'm born in tell you what you said you're J re and escalated their use of force to the level of response that would be reasonable for a person who was actively resisting aggressive and assaultive it should also be noted that the agency's use of force report does not have a section to fill out for the display of a less than lethal bean bag load in a shotgun the incident caused Jerry to seek medical attention as after the deputies left he was dizzy and disoriented with elevated blood pressure and sugar levels hours later the Handcuff still left Impressions on his wrists but his worst injury was to his shoulder which left him in a sling unable to raise his arm over his head and with numbness in his hand and now as deputies leave Corporal Harrison Whispers something to Deputy Horton after instructing him not to mention Miranda rights you said read him as Miranda R and I wouldn't I wouldn't say anything to him you said read it to him I wouldn't no no I wouldn't say anything to him pull out I've been unable to determine what was whispered but if you can figure it out let me know the deputies eventually make their way to the cruiser where Jerry has been detained for the past 20 minutes all right Jerry Hey listen man I mean you always been cool we've been dealing with each other since I worked for since back when I worked for Springfield hell since back when I first hired into the jail in 09 right so I don't know why you get like that with me man woke up not too long ago okay listen man I would never lie to you I don't
