you would think that the simple words shall not be infringed can be translated in the minds of some Psychopaths as hey do with me whatever you will I'm okay with it the Illinois Supreme Court upheld the state's ban against semi-automatic weapons semi-automatic weapons that's how broad they kept the language check this out major decision by the Illinois supreme court on the assault weapons ban this morning the Court ruled the ban is constitutional overturning an earlier decision Sandra Torres is following breaking developments in our control center Sandra the ban to infringe on the thing that's not supposed to be infringed upon is constitutional Regina this decision means the state's assault weapons ban will remain law in Illinois at least for now Governor JB pritzker signed the protect Illinois communities ACT earlier this year and the legislation bans dozens of specific brands or types of rifles and handguns like the AR-15 and AK-47 it also restricts the sale of high-capacity magazines while the law was challenged earlier this year Republican representative Dan Calkins filed a lawsuit saying the law violates the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms the challenge made its way to the Illinois Supreme Court and this morning the court upheld the law Advocates like Ashby Beasley who survived the mass shooting in Highland Park say this is a huge victory you know for me every single day that this ban is in place I know that that it's saving lives and that it is preventing the next mass shooting and it is critical to cut off the easy access to these weapons of war to keep people safe but also let me ask you the laws save lives what are laws the opinions of politicians backed by the threat of what force and what kind of force are we talking about we're talking about force in the hands of a certain group of people that point their firearms at you saying hey you can't have these Firearms we can have them but you can't have the Firearms so in in essence what is this law what is the law that bans people from being able to reach out their hand and get a semi-automatic weapon what is that law That's the Law of force that is the law of violence That's the Law of brutality in essence it is what they say they're against it is gun violence it is government sanctioned tax cattle funded government gun violence against peaceful people who haven't harmed anybody they're innocent they haven't done anything wrong saying you can't have these guns and if you try to get them we will criminalize you we will Point our guns that you're not supposed to have in your direction and we will throw you into a jail that's how hypocritical it is but wait there's more so this bill was written with constitutionality in mind so I definitely had a good feeling that this would hold up it was written with constitutionality in mind you've got to be kidding me is this a joke this is clown world now house Speaker Emmanuel Chris Welch released a statement saying in part the Supreme Court's ruling upholds the legislature's commitment to Value the lives of our children over guns this rule okay so let's take that to the nth degree if you value the lot if you legislators who are for gun control and for these semi-automatic weapons bans if you value your children's lives over guns then get rid of all guns because you can get a 30 50 100 round drum for your Glock 22 and you can fire just as many fast-moving projectiles from that Glock handgun as you can from a semi-automatic AR-15 platform so if you really care about children like you say you care about children then why don't you want to ban all guns does that mean that you value the lives of handguns more than you value the lives of children now some would say Brian shut up don't give many ideas no I want to give them all the ideas that I can give them I want them to write the legislation because you know what the only thing that puts teeth on this legislation are the end of the line badged Tyrant law enforcers if there's not going to be anybody to enforce the law then it doesn't matter what writings or scribbles or fancy words they these politicians put on fantasy pieces of paper because it doesn't matter so to be consistent if you really value the lives of children over guns then why aren't you wanting to get rid of all guns all revolvers all semi-autos all handguns all rifles bling makes it clear the safety of our cities our suburbs and our small towns is not subject to The veto of the gun lobby to which all criminals go hey amen all real criminals Are Ringing their hands going yes I'll have the semi-autos I'll have the rifles I'll have the AR-15s and AK-47s that makes my job easier that way when I step into my criminal work environment it'll be a safe work environment thanks politicians you work in concert wittingly or unwittingly with criminals who will ignore your laws while the law abiders will turn in all their guns that you made illegal and the criminals will have all those guns that the law abiders won't have nonsense now the assault weapons ban has faced significant criticism from gun rights Advocates and many County Sheriffs who signed a statement saying they would not enforce the law the ban also faces legal challenges in federal court yep I bet it does and here are some of those sheriffs right here on Tuesday a new bill was signed into law that Outlaws the sale and manufacturing of semi-automatic assault weapons it also bans large magazines and Rapid Fire attachments now with the law in place some County Sheriffs are taking a stand news 8's Cesar Sanchez joins us live with more on why some counties are against it hi Caesar hey Linda we're here live in Rock Island County where we just received word that sheriff Hart has also is also against the new bill that was passed on Tuesday and we also know that at least three County Sheriffs have discussed with each other about the new bill and today we spoke with Whiteside Sheriff's Whiteside County Sheriff excuse me to discuss about the new bill and he says that the bill is unconstitutional and many other sheriffs agree we feel we're doing the right thing with Governor pritzker signing a new bill stay tuned on this one because one government agency the sheriff and the police the local police department is gonna is saying hey we're not going to enforce this law and then you have the people above them going oh yeah you are and if you don't you're going to be facing some pretty stiff penalties for us from us because we got bigger guns and we got the feds on our side so it's always the guy who's writing the law the guy who expects you to comply with the law is the guy who's got the gun in his hand telling you that you need to drop your gun bans the sale of dozens of firearms that's why sheriffs are speaking up Whiteside County Sheriff John Booker is picking a side a lot of people are saying that we can't pick and choose and we have to follow the laws but you know people don't understand that as the sheriff We're The Keeper of the jails we do have a say who can come in and out of our jails Sheriff Booker announced that Whiteside County that's kind of a weak need response it's like no dang it it's not so he's basically saying hey you know what there's a workaround to this you know you might want us to enforce the law but we can we can determine who's going to come in our jails or not how about you just sit there and go you know what I am an elected official and the people who elected me whether they expect it or not I'm going to protect their individual rights come hell or high water and I don't care what laws you write if they run a file of the Constitution I am not enforcing them any law that is repugnant to the constitution in my mind that sheriff should say is null and void will not check that gun owners registered their weapons to the state Booker believes the federal law overrules the state law making the bill unconstitutional it's going after the law-abiding citizen that's what we're upset about and many other gun owners agree a lot of frustration in the fact that their second amendment rights are getting stripped away during a press conference Governor pritzker said there will be consequences for deputies who do not comply with the new law there isn't a sheriff around that what does pritzker mean by that there will be consequence if the sheriff or the local police chief chooses not to abide by our new law and chooses not to enforce the laws we say that they should enforce there is going to be punishment on them what is he saying I got a bigger gun than you if you don't go out there with your gun to take away the guns of the people that we deem unfit to have them then we're going to come after you with our guns it's always about it's always backed by the threat Force it's always backed by an armed gang with the biggest gun porch violent crime this isn't what we're seeing we're just saying going after law-abiding citizens is not the way that this needs to be done Booker says he wants better communication from the governor to look at other issues such as mental health you can lay a gun on a table it's not going to hurt anybody it's a person that has to pick that gun up and shoot somebody yeah let's get the governor who's mentally incompetent to deal with these issues to go and do something about mental health real good idea it's but it's basically like going into an insane asylum and expecting some of the inmates to make the other inmates better uh you guys are all in the same house shall not be infringed guys means shall not be infringed I'm just gonna keep this video short I appreciate you guys joining what do you think about it do you think that Illinois is within
