all right I'm going to try to make this as quick as possible because it seems pretty obvious that what's going on here just ain't right I mean without government without the police department who would arrest 82 year old women handcuffed them kidnap them and cage them because she didn't pay a trash bill this comes from the BBC looks like a lot of people are reporting on this police arrest elderly Alabama woman over unpaid 77 dollar trash bills from the BBC right here you got this from CBS you ought to be ashamed 82 year old Alabama woman says arrest over 77 trash bill was unjust and unnecessary you think he told her not to cry one of the officers who'd come to arrest Martha menifield an 82 year old black woman it doesn't matter what color this woman is for failure to pay a 77 trash bill told her not to cry the officer tapped her on the back she said she was already in handcuffs don't cry Ms Mar she recalled him saying he kind of whispered to me don't cry when the two officers pulled up outside her Valley Alabama home on Sunday menifield didn't know what they were there for she said the officers won white and one black so this isn't an issue of racism or it shouldn't be got out of their patrol car and approached her home one of the officers said that they were there to arrest her for failure to pay her trash bill guys it gets even better better menfield just laughed she genuinely thought the officer was joking he didn't budge you're not kidding she recalled asking him he wasn't he was there to arrest her for failure to pay 77.80 she thought the bill had already been paid she said Thursday afternoon sitting on her front porch rocking chair but they said it hadn't menifield said and think about this guys you're talking about officers who are going to This Woman's house they probably know how old she is if they didn't before they arrived when they got there and she opened the door they knew exactly what they were dealing with all they had to do is look down at their paper look back up at Miss Martha and go I ain't doing this because I got a brain but because we know they're conformist doing what they're told regardless of what is right and not more or less doing what is right regardless of what they're told they went ahead and proceeded anyway and they went against human nature everybody knows you don't arrest let alone handcuffed let alone kidnap let alone throw into a cage some old lady who didn't commit a crime and how much did these officers make couldn't they have pulled together the resource and said hey you know what let's let's pay Miss Martha's bill for her let's get uh you know some kind of group effort Community effort going here and let's let everybody know hey she hasn't paid her Bill Let's help her out maybe just maybe she's on a fixed income there in Alabama maybe she's been economically terrorized like the rest of us here in Alabama maybe she needs some help and maybe we're capable of helping her but no not these cops these cops are like hey we got our marching orders and we're gonna go ahead and arrest Miss Martha and like I said it's not bad enough that they arrest her they handcuff her they throw in the back of the car they kidnap her and then they throw her into a cage when the officer told her not to cry menifield looked back at him how would you feel if they came and arrested your Grandmama she asked the officer he didn't respond I'm just happy my grandkids weren't here to see that menifield set her voice shaking that would have upset them I was so ashamed and it is a humiliating thing I mean the people who should really be protected in our society are the weakest Among Us like the little babies in the womb little kids you know one to ten years old and the older people who can't fend for themselves and it's been bothering me she said on Tuesday Valley's chief of police defended the arrest and opposed on the city's social media account we're going to take a look at that in a second while officers can use discretionary judgment on certain matters the chief argued and this is at the end of this Facebook post executing an arrest warrant signed by a magistrate is not one of them no they've got to do it they can't stop and question let's take a look at this Facebook post real quick this is from the city of Valley Alabama city hall press release November 29 2022 on November 27 2022 officers of the Valley Police Department arrested Martha menifield 82 years old of Valley at this point you roll the laugh track on the charge of failure to pay trash she was processed at The Valley police department and then released on bond how much is this going to end up costing the city more than 77.80 I would suspect she gets arrested ties up the resources of two officers kidnapped probably fingerprinted k aged now she's got to go to court city of Valley Code Enforcement Officers issued miss menifield a citation on August of 2022 for non-payment for trash services for the months of June July and August okay so there's a problem here she's she's obviously having financial difficulties or she's having cognitive difficulties and she doesn't remember she hasn't paid her trash bill prior to issuing the citation code enforcement tried to call miss menifield several times and attempted to contact her in person at her residence when contact could not be made a door hanger was left at a residence the hangar contained information on the reason for the visit and a name and contact phone number for her to call the citation advised miss menifield that she was to appear in court on September 7th 2022 in reference to this case you better be there a warrant for failure to pay trash was issued and she did not appear in court and now what what corrective action did you take city in Alabama according to the Environmental Services Miss manifield has had her Trash Services suspended three times in the last two years for non-payment and records indicate that there have been over 22 incidents of suspensions and revocations of services since 2006. it sounds like they're trying to justify the evil that they ended up committing against Miss menifield while our officers can use their discretionary judgment on certain matters the enforcement of an arrest warrant issued by the court and signed by a magistrate who's the Magistrate who's the court that approved this who's the magistrate that signed it there's where that's not even the total problem the total problem is the law enforcers at the end of the food chain decided you know what we better go ahead and comply with this because that's how we get our paycheck if that's how you get your paycheck maybe you should think about another employment opportunity that doesn't exact and initiate undue force and violence on 82 year olds our officers can use their discretionary judgment on certain matters and enforcement of an arrest warrant issued by the court and signed by the magistrate is not one of them I beg to differ if you have cognitive abilities if you're a rational thinking person if you just have a sliver of compassion for your fellow man you would never execute such a stupid arrest warrant Miss manifield was treated respectfully by officers don't you hate that hey I was professional when I exacted tyranny on you I was uh you know we were completely respectful when we handcuffed her and kidnapped her it's like the guy who steals your wallet in the subway hey I was totally professional when I did it does that wipe away the criminality of what actually just happened insane insane she was treated respectfully by our officers in the performance of their duties and was released on Bond as prescribed by the violation in other words everybody involved in this right here is basically saying hey orders his orders violations is violations and we gotta follow what the rules are we can't use our own little brains we don't have noodles in between our ears so that we can activate them we have smooth brains and we have no ability to think and we have no compassion to put ourselves in somebody else's shoes and wonder hmm what I want my grandmother to go through this would I if I was a grandfather or grandmother want to be going through this so they break the Golden Rule due to others which you would have done to you it would be such an easy thing for a cop whose salary is through the roof No Doubt to pool their resources or just reach into their pockets and pay this bill but no that's not what that's not the route they wanted to take look at all look at some of these comments on here well aren't you all disgusting every single person who had any part in this all of you yes it's truly disgusting government is broken more government needed to fix it Spike Cohen says without government who would kidnap an 82 year old for forgetting to pay her trash bill for a couple months exactly God forbid some of your officers pulled together the less than a hundred dollars to pay for it I'm sure it costs way more than that and police resources to arrest her mayor Riley you have the ability to fix this nonsense by pardoning Miss Martha use it this Chris Fisher guy says in another life I spent 12 years as a cop our warrant drawers literally had decades-old warrants we didn't have time to serve even when I worked in a small town discretion is a powerful tool and you don't have to serve that warrant despicable so I wanted to go over this let you know once again we can look at our law enforcement uh cowards who are going to take an 82 year old woman handcuffer kidnapper and cage her for a 77 trash bill and that's pretty much what's wrong with this world if the if the problem with the world is there's evil people the last thing you want to do is give some of those evil people unbridled force and a monopoly and power and violence if you haven't done so already subscribe to this channel hit the Bell notification icon give it a thumbs up share it with everybody you
