You're the only one who's getting upset. >> I'm upset because I think this is ridiculous. I think this whole thing is ridiculous. I think it's ridiculous. >> What do you specifically do you think is ridiculous? >> That we're even talking about nothing happened and here we are talking and you're threatening to take me to jail. And so I shouldn't be getting upset? >> I don't call it a threat, sir. >> No, it's a threat. It's a threat is a threat. >> Do you believe him? I don't believe him. I believe he's going to be a tyrant and I think you're going to watch another episode of bully cop this week. Officer Scott Harrell of the Texas City Police Department, you're not going to believe this bully cop. >> [clears throat] >> I'm just going to step out on traffic at Buc-ee's. Don't walk up to my car, please. >> What? >> Don't walk up to my car, please. Hey man, you can't drive through the parking lot like that. You got your driver's license, sir? Any weapons in the car I need to worry about? Is there any particular reason why you felt you needed to come through the parking lot like that? >> I don't think I did anything wrong. I just came over to get gas. >> But you were speeding and you cut through parking spaces. You know you can't do that. >> You just believe the permit on Robert >> I don't think I was really doing anything, man. >> Now, you can tell this cop's butt hurt already and he didn't really want to engage in dialogue. What he wanted was to copsplain to this guy why he did something wrong and this guy says, "I don't think I did anything wrong." Unfortunately for us, we don't have a dash cam video of what he actually did, but I as a former police officer and a defense attorney, I've seen police pull somebody over. I had one just recently in Lebanon where the Mount Juliet police officer said, "You kind of punched it through the parking lot." And the guy really didn't punch it through the parking lot, but he got pulled over and ultimately arrested for DUI and when the district attorney saw the video, she was like, "Okay, [music] he really didn't do anything wrong." So, we were able to favorably work that one out, but unfortunately we don't have dash cam of this one. I would love to see it. >> You asked me a question, you want me to answer it or not? I'm not Okay. I mean, I thought I was going to be going even slower than normal. >> No, sir. You >> Cuz normally people don't even park where you park. And that's the direct path to the gas pumps. >> Through the parking spaces is the direct >> I realize I do realize that. I know that there's parking spaces here and there. >> hit that car that was turning right there. I was watching, man. As soon as you cut in front of me like that, I was like looking and then I watched it happen, so >> I come here every day. There's almost never ever ever anybody. You're sitting there this morning. Now, last week for about 3 days someone was parking there, but if I come here 365 days a year, which I do, there's someone sitting there maybe 10 times. So, there's never ever a car there. So, yeah, I go through there cuz it's the straight path from the entryway to here, which is what you're going to see everybody else do. But, I mean, I hear you, man. I got it. To you it looked like I was going fast. To me I thought I was going even slower than normal cuz I didn't want to get too close to you. >> Okay. Just hang on for one second. You can fill up your car. Go ahead and fill up your car. >> You can go ahead and fill up your car. So, that tells me is we're not on a really big serious traffic stop here. If you're letting him go ahead and fill up his car, then you don't really intend to arrest this guy. You're going to find out in a minute why he doesn't choose to pursue this, and then you're going to see a big flip in the whole script. >> Okay. So, >> I'm not kidding you, either. I come here every day, dude. I send pictures of my wife the price of the gas here every day when I come through. >> Okay. Look. >> So, >> Here is the I'm not going to go back and forth and all that. I'm not going to write you tickets, but the only reason I'm not writing you tickets is because I'm out of tickets right now. Okay. Otherwise, you would be receiving a citation. >> For what? What would the citation be? I'm just curious. >> Disregarding traffic control device. >> For what? I'm just curious what the citation would be for. I wouldn't have said that. I would have said, "Thank you for not writing me a ticket." Don't say anything. Don't talk him out of it. Don't talk him out of not arresting you. This citizen, believe it or not, at this point, officer's already said, "I don't have a ticket book. I'm not going to arrest you. I'm going to let you go." This citizen should have just said, "Thank you very much. Have a nice day." Walked off. But, the citizen's going to talk him out of not arresting him. >> On private property? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Still you still can't do that. Still illegal. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, I'm not going to write you a ticket. Um >> I I hear you, man. I'm I'm I understand. >> But, I don't One, I don't appreciate the attitude. Two, I get it. You're upset. Nobody likes cops pulling them pulling up on them. Nobody likes it. Okay? But, you know you did wrong. You know you're not supposed to cut through the parking lot. And instead of being like, "Oh, yeah. I messed up. Sorry. Won't happen again." You want to sit here and go back and forth with me. >> That's it right there. Instead of just admitting that I pulled you over for a good reason, you want to go back and forth with me. So, you've challenged this poor little officer's authority. [music] And he's got a little bit of a thin skin. And he doesn't like not being right. So, at the end of the day, he's going to make sure you understand he was right. Am I right? Comment below. >> There's a lot better things than than this to be doing for you. >> You're right. I was working on a report. >> over here and you I mean, there's people right now running around here. >> to jail? You want to go to jail? So, you want to go to jail? You could go to jail for this. >> I You can do what you want to do. I can't stop you. >> I don't want to take you to jail. >> I know. >> That's That is definitely a waste of my time. Okay? But, the attitude is not necessary. >> I agree. >> That's on your part, sir. I haven't been rude to you at all. >> Okay. Very good. That's fine. >> I have a camera on. I can't be rude to you. >> Okay. That's All right. >> I will get in trouble. You go file a complaint. Based on my behavior, they will decide whether or not to give me a trouble, write me up. >> I'm not worried about that. We're good, man. >> Okay. All right, well, I'll make sure that I'm there all the time. If I see it happen again, then we'll go from there, okay? >> Okay. >> Walk away. He said, "I'll make sure I'm there all the time now. If I see you do it again, we're going to go a different way." Mr. Citizen, walk away. Turn around and walk away. Walk away from this encounter. Don't antagonize him. Even though you want to be right, he wants to be right. He's going to out-muscle you, okay? You're not going to win this argument. You're just not. But, you are going to get arrested. >> I'll look that law up. I'm probably not going to I don't believe you have the authority to do anything you're on this property to act like that. >> I can also take you to jail for class B reckless driving. Or class I'm sorry, class A reckless driving. >> Okay. >> See how it changed? He said, "I'm going to look that law up about private property cuz I don't think you're right on that." This guy's just got to be right. He's an idiot. I think the cop is a bully, but I think the citizen's an idiot. I'm sorry. Had multiple occasions to walk away. [music] Just walk away. You don't got to be right. >> Because you did almost hit that car. >> I didn't almost hit anybody. I was nowhere near There's There's cameras everywhere. You can do what you want to do, Harold. I can't stop you. If you want to be this way, then that's up to you. I'm trying to be a reasonable person. I I think >> a reason why you're acting up? >> I'm having a bad day because because you're doing this to me. >> Have I raised my voice to you at all, sir? You're the only one who's getting upset. >> I'm upset because I think this is ridiculous. I think this whole thing is ridiculous. I think it's ridiculous. >> What is specifically do you think is ridiculous? >> That we're even talking about Nothing happened. And here we are talking and you're threatening to take me to jail. >> No, I'm not threatening you. I don't call that a threat, sir. I don't >> No, it's a threat. It's a That is a threat. You're threatening me under Colorado law to take something on private property, which I don't believe you even have the authority to do. >> It It is a criminal offense, sir. >> Okay. >> It comes from Black's Law Dictionary. >> A misdemeanor for you to threaten to arrest me over something you know is not really true. But, that's okay. >> What what what's the penal code on that, sir? >> Trust me. It's okay. >> Trust you? >> Okay. >> I I >> We're we're good. >> Trust you. >> We're good. >> I don't feel like we are. I feel like this is uh This is this is a problem. >> How is that a How is that a problem? How is that >> feel like you're going to continue to to commit these behaviors that are unsafe and put people at risk. >> I feel like you're going to continue to commit these behaviors that are unsafe and put people at risk. So, this cop is trying to talk himself into just arresting him cuz he wants to. He's pissed him off now. He's challenged his authority. He's challenged his knowledge of the law. He's made him feel stupid and he doesn't want to walk away feeling stupid. He's going to arrest this guy. >> So, you don't feel like you did anything wrong? >> that's possible they may do in the future. So, we're now now we're playing Jean-Claude Van Damme future cop and you're going to you need to stop me from something I may do in the future. That's now your position? You're you're feeling like you should take action cuz maybe sometime in the future I might possibly continue to do something. Come on. >> What is the law designed to do, sir? >> Oh, I I know you want voluntary I know you I know you want voluntary compliance. I know you want voluntary compliance. >> Okay. Then, put your hands behind your back. >> Wow. >> I know you want voluntary compliance. That was the last straw. It just pushed this cop over the edge. Cuffed and stuffed, hooked and booked. I knew it was coming. You knew it was coming. This citizen should have walked away multiple times. >> I can do two sets of handcuffs. You want >> I cannot believe that you're doing this, dude. >> Well, I mean, it it didn't have to go this way. >> No, it never did. None of this ever had needed to happen. I don't believe it. >> Okay. I disagree with you. >> Okay, I know. >> What would you like me to do with your car? You want to call somebody or uh or or do I tow it? >> You want need this, Daryl? >> Okay. So, what are we going to do with the car? I don't want to tow it, cuz that's that that'd be being a real dick, and I'm I'm trying not to be the dick. Okay, what would you like me to do with the car, sir? >> So, the cop thinks he's not being a dick because he's not going to tow the guy's car, and he's being uber nice to him. He's just going to take him to jail for the original offense. I will say ultimately this cop comes to his senses. At the end of the day, he takes him out of the car, he un-arrests him, writes him a citation, lets him go on his way because I think deep down the cop really knew this was wrong. It was a wrong arrest. He should have walked away. The citizen should have walked away. You got both of these bull heads going this, you know, doing this back and forth. I'm right, you're wrong. You're right, I'm wrong. When you encounter a bully cop, you're not going to win. He's going to arrest you. He's going to win. If he gives you the opportunity to walk away, walk away. He should see your t-shirt that says I plead the fifth, and then when you walk away, he should see doctor judge. Guys, if you play stupid games, you're going to win stupid prizes, and you don't want stupid prizes. If you like this video, be sure to save it and share it with somebody who needs this kind of information. Not every cop will un-arrest somebody when they realize they made a mistake, but if you want to watch some other encounters that are equally impressive, you're going to want to see these.
