justified or just a bully threatening to arrest you for just asking why you were stopped. In my opinion, that's just a bully. Police should be ready for this question. They should be ready to explain why they stopped you. And we had actually departmental orders that would say, "Good evening, sir. My name's Officer Ridings with the Metro Nashville Police Department. Here's the reason I stopped you or the reason I stopped you was." And tell them the reason you stopped them. Now, the cops don't have to do that. It's not a law that they have to do it. They may not want to tell you why they stopped you, but if you challenge them on that and they push back and threaten to arrest you for asking questions, that's just a bully. So, you may not have the right to know why you were pulled over, but you certainly shouldn't be threatened with arrest for simply asking.
