According to Jacksonville Sheriff TK Waters based on the information that he gets from law enforcement circles, police abuse of power cases don't happen that often in America. >> There's probably about a million full-time police officers in the United States of America. Um, this doesn't happen very often. These things don't happen very often. But with the advent of social media and with the ability to to send to send information out um at the speed of light and everyone sees it, maybe not the speed of light, but you know what I mean. Everyone sees it without context. It gets so huge you can never put the toothpaste back in the tube. >> Thanks for saying that, TK. Now, every American knows that you want the toothpaste of law enforcement thin blue line tyranny exposure put back into the tube. As more and more people view the viral video of Will McNeel being protected and served into nine stitches in a chipped tooth by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Department for the dastardly crime of not turning his headlights on as multiple officers arrived on the scene without their headlights on. And as Jacksonville Sheriff TK Waters continues to gaslight the public into believing they didn't see the abuse of force that everybody else saw. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office posted this on their social media account. In light of William McNeel Jr.'s public announcement that he has retained counsel. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office will not offer any further comment regarding the circumstances surrounding McNeel's February 19th arrest. Our agency has publicly released bodywn camera footage pertaining to this matter and I provided a briefing on the status of the investigation earlier this week. This publicly shared information is currently available on all JSO's social media platforms and our transparency portal. However, in anticipation of litigation, our agency will not speak further on this matter. And that's probably a wise move since Sheriff Waters can't seem to talk in public without acting like a defensive, condescending, gaslighting tyrant who's more than willing to lie to the public about what we all saw. And in true back the blue fashion, when asked about this incident, Florida Governor Ronda Santis had this to say. >> I haven't seen it, but I heard that it was debunked. I heard that what I heard was that this was out there. There was a narrative that was done and then JSO provided the context and things were a lot different. Now, I have not personally seen it, but that would not surprise me if that's what happens because that's what happens in so many of these things. There's a rush to judgment. There's a there's a desire to try to get views and clicks by creating division. And, you know, I know the sheriff here, if people get out of line, he's going to hold them accountable. Um, but if guys are being unfairly targeted as if they did something wrong because there's not enough context, then that's Chris. So, so I don't know for sure, but I have heard that once you provide context that things are are different. And that has definitely been true around the country in recent years. I mean, you remember the Ferguson, Missouri? I mean, you had CNN anchors saying, "Hands up, don't shoot." Like basically the narrative was you had this guy innocent, unarmed, has his hands up and some rogue cop just guns him down and they were saying race was the reason to do it. Turns out even Eric Holder's justice department did a thorough investigation and said the officer acted appropriately under the circumstances. And so, you know, you have these situations where people will want to make an issue. But I have every confidence in in our sheriff here in Jacksonville that um if there's anything that these guys are not living up to the standards, he's going to hold him accountable. But, but it seems to me like this is um trying to create a narrative. Um you know, maybe I'll review it, you know, at some point. Uh but I kind of heard about it, then I heard the response and I'm like, "Yeah, that kind of checks out to me." Without even knowing any of the facts. I just know how this stuff works, right? So, >> this sheriff has his every confidence. >> But I have every confidence in in our sheriff here in Jacksonville. >> And of course he does. It's no surprise that he said that and that he would back every one of his 67 sheriffs in the state of Florida. It's rare that the political class would substantially challenge the law enforcement class because they need them to enforce their policies of control, coercion, and confiscation. Remember, nearly every sheriff in the country, 3,086 of them to be exact, signed on to Sheriff Jim Skinner's demand that civil asset forfeiture remain as a law enforcement tool in their arsenal. This is basically legalized armed robbery. And you don't even have to be charged with a crime for cops to take your money, your car, your house, whatever you have. as long as the cops claim that they believe your possessions are being used to benefit the drug trade. And of course, Ben dollar signs in his eyes and nice suits. Crump often associated with securing significant civil rights settlements and who's constantly giving off those Reverend Al Sharpton, I got a BLM agenda vibes, has decided to defend Will McNeel. And here's his take. This is a very, very important case. As attorney Daniels said, when William was stopped, there was no rhyme or reason, no rationale for them stopping him. I mean, this was a classic case >> of driving while black. [Applause] And I applaud William McNeel for keeping his demeanor, his calmness. >> I mean, Attorney Daniels, I thought the trained police officers were supposed to be the ones to deescalate the matter. They were the ones escalating the matter while this young man represented the best of us. He kept calm. He was trying to deescalate the matter. He just kept asking simply, "Why are you stopping me?" I mean, think about that. I understand the sheriff said anti- police. No, no, no. It's not anti- police. When an American citizen asks, "Why are you stopping me?" >> That is an American citizen exercising his constitutional rights. >> That's what William was doing. He was exercising his constitutional rights. and Attorney Daniels and I seek to remind America that we are a democracy, that we believe in the Constitution, and that all American citizens have a right to the protections of the Constitution, that this is not a police state where the police are above the law and that they have no accountability. No. The last time I checked, America is still a democracy and our citizens still have a right to the Constitution. [Applause] It It goes without saying that the leaders now have to step up and be leaders. Look at that video. Look at that video with your own eyes. Listen with your own ears. We have audio, visual evidence, proof of what happened. Nobody has to narrate it for us to the sheriff respectfully. You can't justify this. You can't condone this. You have to condemn this. You have to look at that video and say this does not reflect our training, our policies, or our values. And you need to terminate that officer immediately. immediately >> because as attorney Daniels and I deliberated over this matter, if you don't terminate this officer and you condone this type of police excessive force, then it sends a message to all of the other police officers on the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office It tells them it is okay >> for you to treat citizens like this. It is okay to treat black motorists like this. And America, it is not okay. >> Okay. >> It is not okay to treat our citizens like this. >> It makes no sense to me that Trump would call for the termination of only one deputy when multiple deputies were involved in the violent action against his client. you need to terminate that officer immediately. >> Also, Trump could use his position to spearhead a campaign to end all frivolous corporate traffic stops, but maybe he's just too monetarily incentivized to keep his gravy train on the tracks. There's no mystery that scammy lawyers would come out of the woodwork for a chance to cash in on this highprofile viral video and just milk it for everything they can. But as we've seen, it just takes more money from the people in that community and the police department is left to carry on with their current tyrannical MO. What they really need to do is remove the legalized justification for all these stops. frivolous corporate traffic laws. You need to quit giving cops an excuse to stop people. If you don't open the door to harassment, harassment never has a chance to walk into your house. They use corporate traffic laws to tell Americans who are supposed to be free that they must comply with these arbitrary codes and regulations. That is the problem that nobody's talking about. It's a revenue generating, constitution trampling, cop empowering racket that's more about controlling the peasants than protecting the public. And of course, Will and his family have also weighed in on this. >> And I know I didn't do nothing wrong. >> I was really just scared. >> In the video, the 22-year-old asks why he was stopped. Officers saying because his headlights were off. There's no rain. >> It doesn't matter. You're still required to have headlights on. >> Police say McNeel refused to exit the vehicle. McNeel says the incident left him with a chipped tooth and wounds requiring nine stitches. >> To see that video made me go back to the moment when I was 22. It hurt it. >> This was a classic case of driving while black. and we're definitely going to have people out there protesting about this. But as we've seen, this yields little if any change within police departments. >> Several hours ago, protesters gathered in front of city hall to demand justice and accountability from Sheriff Waters. >> Uh when we spoke with protesters, they said the big elephant in the room was uh the way Sheriff TK Waters responded to legitimate questions that they said they cared about during yesterday's news conference. questions that centered around that uh video recorded beating of Will McNeel Jr. >> Indict, convict, send those brutal cops to jail. The whole damn system job is guilty as hell. >> Demonstrators gathered in front of city hall to protest the officer's use of force. McNeel was pulled over for not wearing his seat belt and not having his headlights on during inclement weather. An exchange of words led to the traffic stop turning violent. The officer should have just told the the brother, "Your headlights are not at home. Turn your headlights on and drive during inclement weather. See you later." >> And that makes perfect sense. Using his human discretion, that's all the cop had to do and would have done. But because he did more, it shows us it's not about traffic safety. It's not about public safety. This is about control. Protesters say Sheriff TK Waters made matters worse during his Monday news conference to address the video recorded beating. >> You blame that young man for not coming to you for reporting this, but you say you hold your officers to a high standard. So why didn't the officers go and self-report themselves? >> That is some serious logic right there. Not to mention that it appears that the strikes to Will's face and body were omitted from the original police reports. This lady's right. If the cops are operating on such a high standard, why is it that time and time again, we see false reports, dishonest press briefings, and victim blaming? And why didn't these cops just come out and complain on their fellow cops? Nothing ever seems to change. Although the sheriff says he has been transparent about the video recorded beating and other instances where his officer's actions made news headlines, protesters say he is not being transparent enough when it comes to answering honest questions >> because it's far too long now that he has been getting away with not answering questions. >> How the sheriff answered one question in particular during Monday's news conference had protesters sounding off. Was it appropriate for the officer to punch this guy in the jaw after he had already broken the window? Was that yes or no? Was that was that appropriate? >> It depends on the circumstances, >> but it's already determined it's not criminal. Now, we're going to look for for JSO viol policy violations. >> How about that? Is that good? >> Well, if a if a civilian did that to another civilian, they would be in handcuffs. >> No, not necessarily. It depends on the circumstances, the situation. >> It's disgusting what his response is. It's truly disgusting. Like there's no accountability for these officers. I don't think he meaningfully answered any questions. >> His approach was, "How can we deflect? How can we undermine?" Which I think is the last thing that we need from our law enforcement. >> Now, this morning, the sheriff went on NPR radio and answered a series of questions, including questions uh about uh Monday's news conference that in itself went viral on social media. In the meantime, this issue is not going away anytime soon. Demonstrators are planning to gather in front of JSO this Saturday at 5:00 p.m. for yet another protest. Cops show by their actions that they don't care about protests. Besides, the protesters aren't even focusing their attention on the right thing. We need to end corporate traffic law in America. Corporate traffic law violates our unalienable rights. It shackles us to the posts on our current plantation. And it gives cops the justification they need to brutalize us if we don't comply with their commands.
