Never hand a cop an unlocked phone. When he accuses you of something, why would you hand him your phone to show him a text message that exonerates you? When he can just scroll through and maybe find a text message that didn't exonerate you. So, you never hand your phone to somebody with an open phone and just let them scroll. I saw a lawyer do this once in court, literally. >> [laughter] >> It was his phone. He's got pictures that he downloaded from his client that showed evidence that he was wanting to show the judge. So, he hands the phone to the judge and realizes as soon as he's walked back to the podium, "Oh my god, I just handed my phone to a judge unlocked with the ability to scroll my photo album." He got back to the podium, he said, "Judge, for the love of God, don't scroll." It's the same thing on a traffic stop. You would never hand your phone to a police officer and just let them scroll, would you?
