So, the police say, "You seem like a really good person that just made an honest mistake." They may actually be manipulating you into confessing. I'm talking about false empathy and character flattery. The cops use this flattery and false empathy into tricking you into thinking that they're your friend and that you can talk to them about anything. If there's more than one cop around there, one of them's going to be really mean and nasty, and one of them's going to be really nice and sweet. The police use this tactic a lot. They try to minimize what you really did wrong so that you'll minimize it in your head and feel comfortable admitting it. Don't admit to anything. Just don't talk to the police. Always say the seven words that you know, "I don't answer questions without a lawyer."
