Department was on patrol when he
according to police reports observed a
golf cart failed a stop and failed a
signal shortly after the interaction
began the officer claimed to smell
alcohol coming off the driver's breath
the driver later identified as Kristen
explained that she's a stroke victim and
consented to field sobriety exercises we

suspicion of that sure I've had a stroke
recently so if you see me wobbling

diabetes works if you're insulin
dependent well I mean well type two
diabetes take take medicine two times
yeah yep that's not I've been a
paramedic for 20 years okay so if you're

that's is type two diabetes and I take
medicine once a week y I mean a shot
once a week and then medicine metformin
that's the name of every day okay what
kind of insulin do you take if you're
telling me to take a shot it's uh it's
the new shot that just came out I don't
even know the name of it um I want to
say why go but not sure that's positive
okay cuz it's a peptide
yep so it's not a straight insulin shell

medical conditions no okay any uh
medications that you take on a regular
basis uh I take
uh vitamin D I take
that I take um Aderall once a day in the
morning warning okay and high blood
pressure medication you know what it is
to it there's a

I take for blood
pressure I I don't know I we just got
some blood pressure some blood pressure
medicine all right so everything well
controlled yes all right do you know
what your last A1C
was um seven or eight excellent
all right and any physical limitations
no okay no problems with your knees hips
shoulders just they'll have balance
because of a stroke that's it okay and
is it all on your left side or on your
right side okay right sided but Ian it's
not a um it's not like a terrible it's
just I have a little bit of it okay

drink you said
I don't know maybe
like 12:00 I don't know I I had a drink
but I just been uh I was sipping on it
the whole time okay what kind of what
kind of drink was it Gray Goose
pineapple and orange juice
okay and 12 a.m. like 12 dark time okay
without looking at a watch do you know
what time it is now probably like 3:20

so what I'm going to ask you now
is so I you said under the what under
the legal limit okay so I arrest uh
based on impairment okay impairment that
I see it could be from alcohol could be
from drugs could be medically induced um
things like that so we have uh people
that have been specifically trained to
recognize if something is impairment
based on alcohol drugs or if it's a
medical um condition like you were
saying okay um if we can get one of
those people to come down it's not
anybody that you saw tonight it's nobody
that's working right now and participate
in an evaluation with them it is
basically some of the same things the
exercises that we did but you get to do
it in a much more controlled environment
flat floor nice light and then they do a
few extra ones they check blood
pressures and things like that it's
another it's another opportunity for you
to to prove your innocence is that some
is that something that you would
participate in or not so that that says
that I'm under the legal limit yes ma'am
I what is there a need for me to do that
you can either do it or not you're
you're being lodged at the jail either
way and why is that if I'm under the
legal limit because again IR arrest
based on impairment so I saw impairment
I
cannot uh say if that impairment is due
to a medical condition or due to drugs
and ALC
this is out of control you know what no
there's no need for that I'm not
impaired I haven't done anything and
I've been very cooperative and followed
all of your tests and under legal limit
so and I cooperated with you there so
I'm there's nothing for me to be I
haven't done anything all right
understand despite blowing under the
legal limit Kristen was charged with
driving under the influence and fraud SL
impersonation the passenger Tanya was
charged with resisting without violence
