not to to give people space the event
or whatever but except the criminal
activity that's been going on on high
street
over the past couple weeks has been
escalating
so we have to do something about it but
the entire point of civil disobedience
is to make people uncomfortable it's to
cause
coda buses to have to turn around
when you're focusing on property damage
you're focusing on the wrong thing right
we just want you to focus
so in terms of gunshots over the past
four or five days
in here does that count can we count
that
what about arson what about bonfires can
we count that oh i like bonfires what
about
in the middle of the street where the f

department's blocked from getting in to
put it out
uh what about an injury accident what
about somebody's car getting surrounded
and people are jumping on the car
it's a car really if it was your car you

did you pay did you pay money for every
month or you paid money for

here's the thing here's the thing i'm
willing to put my body out here having
just recovered from an injury
i'm ready to get injured again i'm ready
for whatever may happen you know what
you you have something in common with
all of our officers because we have over
180 officers that were hurt
and thursday friday saturday of last
year so here's the thing
so that's something we have commonality
watch right sure fine but here's the
thing about it
ultra should have been shown again and
again by the supreme court to have no
right to protect anyone they should not
be used for drugs
about the defund the police thing uh
we're really talking about reallocating
resources
here's the thing the social services
would be good
like in columbus we already have a
social worker and an
officer together on mental health right
why is there an officer
okay because here's the thing over the
years
social service agencies have had the
opportunity to take the ownership of
these
issues and one by one they've done it
okay they've said hey we can't
we you know we'll talk to that person
but only you know eight to four monday
through friday
we will talk to that person but once
they sober up but we'll talk to that
person once they
you know once the situation's calmed
down so if the opportunity to learn
social work they would be out there
i was going to go into a similar field i
lost my funding could not get through my
college because i couldn't afford it
i'd be out there any time a day or night
well
maybe then we need you out there because
we have well
we need to get more people they've had
the funding the reason that it
moved because they asked us to take
responsibility for stuff that originally
weren't
law enforcement related and it's because
there were no other people that were
willing to do it
so when you talk about that kind of
stuff we agree with you we get pulled
way too thin
to be doing way too many things but the
problem is that there was nobody else
that was wanting to work
i promise you if you don't set up
situations where people can get the
training to go out and do it you would
find people willing to do it
okay but a lot of us are affected by
poverty i grew up in a house at the
front door that didn't lock
my chances of getting through college
were slim to nuts
come be a police officer you know change
comes from within
no i would get kicked out so fast
i'm far too compassionate for that
i see in the news all the time people
that cops that try to do the right thing
and they are no longer pups
i don't think there are good avenues
within that's not true

investigate officers how much we
discipline officers
