Hey, what crime IS IT FELLA? WHAT WHAT CRIME >> HEY EVERYBODY, ONE OF OUR FOLLOWERS SENT US THIS great newscast of a viral video where a Marion County Sheriff's officer does some crazy stuff. Let's watch this newscast. >> Jennifer, the video was about 2 minutes and 28 seconds long. A parent tells me she recorded it with her cell phone and couldn't believe what her eyes were seeing. [music] We must warn you that some of that video may be hard to watch. >> It is hard to watch. >> This video has gone viral showing a Marion County school resource officer hitting a student athlete with his stun gun. It's also led to the state law enforcement division or sled investigating the incident. It took place last Wednesday following a baseball game between the Pee Dee and Lee Academies in Mullins. It shows the Marion County SRO restraining the Lee Academy baseball player. I talked with a man who says he too recorded video of the incident and didn't want to go on camera or show his face, but told me what he witnessed. >> I knew that he had something was major wrong. I mean I saw a lot of stuff. I thought about and somebody needs to do something and get him off of this child. He's way out of line. >> He was way out of line. There were people on the scene of this that were just short of committing an assault on an officer. I know it. They wanted to tackle this guy so bad and I don't blame them. This resource officer way over reacted. Let me give you a little context here. What happened was after the baseball game, the mother of this student wanted to talk to the umpire. Now, why do you think she wanted to talk to the umpire? She wanted to complain about something he ruled on that she disagreed with and the umpire and her kind of got into it and the resource officer came over there to interject. He wanted to intervene on behalf of the umpire and he kind of got into an argument with the mother. So, this kid comes over because his mother's being disrespected, and he has a few choice words for this officer. Now, all of those choice words were first amendment protected activity. You know that if you watch this channel, and the resource officer loses his mind. We're going to watch the original video of what happened. I want to hear what you have to say. Comment below what you think about this Marion County resource officer who did this. Should he still be a cop? In my humble opinion, I don't think he should. I think he loses qualified immunity here. He didn't have the right to put his hands on this kid in the first place, and he certainly didn't have the right to whack him in the head with his taser gun. What do you think? Let's watch this video. >> Hey. What crime is >> Ask the OTHER FELLOW. >> WHAT WHAT CRIME WHAT WELL, I'LL TELL YOU WHAT. >> DO IT. >> HEY. >> YOU JUST LOST your job, HOMIE. >> I'M ON MY BROTHER. >> I hope everybody is filming. >> Get down on your knees and quit resisting. >> Get out. Get out. >> Get on your knees and quit resisting. >> Where's the other fellow at? >> Well, that's ridiculous right there, though. >> Where's the other fellow at, sir? >> Just cuz he's got a badge and a gun he >> Yes, sir. >> I got it all >> Are you a >> Are you associated with him? >> I My son goes to school here. >> We will be here. >> So, you can hear him say he stepped on my foot. It is why he whacked him in the head. The kid was backing up, but he shouldn't have had him in this chokehold kind of position anyway. He has his arm around him around his neck, and he's kind of pulling him backwards, and of course he's going to step on his feet accidentally. He wasn't doing it on purpose, but he had cleats on. The officer said that it hurt, and it was a a natural reaction for him to whack him in the head and basically get him off of his foot, but he's being investigated now by SLED. He's likely to lose his certification over this. That's my opinion. I think it ought to be yours, but I want to know what you think. Let's watch the rest of this video. >> [laughter] >> So, you hear him say he's not going to talk to me that way. So, guess what, dear Officer Eddie Page? He gets to talk to you that way because when you embarked upon your career as a law enforcement officer, you were supposed to grow some thicker skin. People are allowed to talk to you anyway they feel like talking to you, and you're not allowed to put them in a choke hold over it. Full stop. So, SLED is basically their post-certification board for the South Carolina law enforcement agency. When SLED investigates you, they have control over your license. Eddie Page is being investigated, I think he was charged with a a third-degree assault, which is probably a misdemeanor assault in that jurisdiction. I think he was rightfully charged with [music] assault. What do you think? >> After the game, the mother of the Lee Academy player went up to the umpire with a question. That's when he says the SRO told her she couldn't talk with him and had to leave. The man says the player came over to see what was going on and used a curse word because he didn't like the way the SRO was treating his mom. And that's when the SRO placed him under arrest with one hand around the student athlete's neck while using the other hand to hold his stun gun. >> So, did you hear that news report? He came up and he used a curse word at this officer, >> [music] >> which is why the officer placed him under arrest, which is a violation of his constitutional rights, and therefore, I think it was an unlawful detention. I think this officer loses qualified immunity. I think he can be sued. I think he certainly can be charged with a criminal assault offense, which he has been, and I I he should lose his license to [music] be a law enforcement officer. That's just my opinion. What do you think? Comment below. If you have any personal experience with this, comment below and tell me what that is. If you have a video like this that you want us to take a look at, we get that all the time. We get people that will send me videos. They'll send them through Facebook or Instagram. Sometimes they'll send them by email. We will take a look at that video. If it's worthy of doing a video on, we'll do it. >> The Marion County Sheriff's Office sent me a statement saying, quote, "We have turned the matter over to SLED for investigation. The deputy in question [music] has been reassigned pending SLED's investigation." >> So, the deputy's been reassigned pending the SLED investigation, but he's also been charged with a criminal assault, according to reports. When SLED investigates, they can refer him for criminal charges, which is what they've done, according to my reports. But, he hasn't lost his license to be a law enforcement officer. He is on suspension, probably without pay, but SLED has a lot of power. They can cause him to lose his license to be a law enforcement officer, which is why they have so much power. So, that you don't have officers doing stuff like this, and then they quietly resign, and they pop up in another jurisdiction. That happens all the time. This guy is in the wrong line of work. He shouldn't be a police officer. Back in the '70s and the '80s, this kind of stuff went on all the time. But, it's because we didn't have cameras. We didn't have HD cameras in everybody's pocket, and cops got away with stuff like that. You just can't get away with that anymore. So, this kid's going to have a story to tell at the next ball game, for sure. And, he might just win enough money in that lawsuit to buy everybody new uniforms. But, one thing's for sure, in my opinion, that school resource officer should be in another line of work. What do you think? Comment below. Hey, everybody.
