One of my followers recently asked, "But isn't it just a lot easier to cooperate with cops?" Well, I would ask you in return, "What's your definition of cooperate?" Cooperate with the police when he asks you to step out of the car, you step out of the car. If he asks, "Sit in the backseat of my car." Unfortunately, you just have to cooperate and sit in the backseat of his car because he's entitled to do those things on a traffic stop. Cooperation to me means say yes, sir, and no, sir. Be polite. But no, I never want you to talk to the police. When he says, "Where are you coming from?" you say, "I'm sorry, officer. I don't answer questions without a lawyer." When he says, "Where are you going?" I'm sorry, officer. I don't answer questions without a lawyer. Now, don't be a jerk about it. Don't ever say, "It's none of your effing business," or something stupid like that. Just say, "I'm sorry, officer. I don't answer questions without a lawyer." And this question really highlights why people get in trouble with police so often because they don't know what cooperate really means. I always cooperate with the police. But my definition of cooperate might be different than your definition of cooperate.
