It's huge. Look, look, look. Put put him in. >> Hey all you dog lovers out there, this video's going to right piss you off. This is a video that went viral for obvious reasons you're going to see in a minute. It's disturbing. If you're a pet lover, it's hard to watch. I just lost my dog a couple of months ago. It's still raw. This video really pissed me off. I'm not going to lie. There was no reason for this cop to shoot this dog. Prove me wrong. Watch this video. >> Police department. >> Yeah. >> LAPD. It's LAPD. >> This call came in from a 911 call about somebody screaming, "Oh my god. Oh my god." So, it's about a screaming woman. I get it. I used to be a cop. You go on the scene of these calls where somebody was screaming for unknown reasons. You don't know what you're dealing with. You don't know what you're about to encounter. They use officer safety rules here where they stand on each side of the door. That's all perfectly fine. When the woman comes to the door, you're going to see this big dog. The body cam we're watching now, this cop apparently is scared to death of dogs. But, good grief. Look at the picture they put in the news here. The dog looks cute and playful. He doesn't look like a vicious dog at all. This dog comes out barking. Is it worthy of being shot? Should this officer have shot this dog? Watch this video. >> Hello. >> Hi. >> Oh, can you put your dog away? Keep him. Put your dog away, please. Put your dog away. Put your dog away. >> He's already got his gun out. >> Dude. I ain't getting bit by that, bro. Is the dog put away? >> Please put the dog away. >> It's all good. It's all good. We don't >> The dog is aggressive. >> He's huge. You know what I mean? You know what I mean? Look, put put him in. >> All right. >> He's damn lucky he didn't shoot that woman. Good grief. So, let me slow it down. Watch this slow-motion part. >> Is the dog put away? >> Sorry. >> It's all good. It's all good. >> It's not aggressive. >> Dude, you know what? What put him in >> I just don't think it rises to the level of shooting this dog. Comment below, tell me what you think. So, [clears throat] let me show you another view. This is the other officer's body cam, the one that's on the left side of the door. Let's watch it from his view. And this guy's lucky he didn't get shot. >> LAPD >> Hello. >> Oh, can you put your dog in there? Put your dog in. Put your dog away. >> Jeez, that's a big ass dude. >> I ain't getting bit by that dog. >> Is the dog put away? >> Sorry. >> It's all good. It's all good. >> It's not aggressive. >> He's huge, you know what I mean? You're going to look What put him in >> Man, that video's hard for me to watch. I get it. She should have put the dog away. In their defense, they told the lady to put the dog away. She should have put the dog away. She should have crated the dog before she came back to the door. She knew her dog was not aggressive. Maybe the dog's never bitten anybody. I had a dog, he was a German Shorthaired Pointer. We just lost him a few months ago. A terrible day for dog lovers. But, if this had been my dog, I don't know what I would have done. I would have probably lost my mind over this cop shooting my dog. I mean, comment below, tell me what you think. Officers that watch this channel, please comment below. Tell me if you would have done the same thing. Probably some of you would have. I don't know. I just think that he could have used a little restraint. And even if the dog bit him, is it the worst thing in the world if a dog bites you? This is not a pitbull. This is not a a Doberman Pinscher. It's a big floppy-eared dog, for crying out loud. He just didn't look aggressive [music] to me. I can't criticize the officers in their approach. They were responding to a call about a screaming woman. That could have been anything. It could have been very serious. It could have been a domestic abuse situation. It could have been much worse. I just don't think this officer should have shot this dog. He didn't deserve to get killed like that. That's my opinion. And it ought to be yours. But, you know, tell me what you think. I know that some of you will take up for this cop, and that's fine. Hey, this channel's all about your opinion. You know, you got my opinion. I don't think he should have shot him, but I can't criticize their approach. I think the dog owner here deserves as much blame as anybody. She didn't put the dog up. They told her to put the dog up. Why didn't you put your dog up? My dog sounded very aggressive. He was the sweetest dog in the world, best dog ever. He would not bite you, but he'd make you think he was going to bite you. I was very uh cognizant of that when an Amazon driver would drive up. I wouldn't let my dog run out on an Amazon driver, or the mailman, or a police officer in this particular situation. I would have put the dog up, because I know some people are scared to death of dogs. This cop obviously scared to death of dogs. Don't think he should have shot him. It's It's tragic. I don't think the cop's going to get in any trouble over it, but tell me what you think below. Comment below. Tell me whether you think this was justified, or if you think he's just a bully. LAPD has done a video because of the viral nature of the body cam footage and the way that it hit the media and the uprising from the community. It got millions of views. It made the news all over the place. Lots of dog lovers out there, folks. And let's see what the community response is from LAPD. I'm Captain [snorts] Mike Bland, the commanding officer of Media Relations division with the Los Angeles Police Department. This critical incident community briefing is intended to provide [music] you with information about an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Topanga division in the city of Los Angeles. You're about to see relevant video footage and learn about other evidence and police procedures related to the case, so you can have a better understanding of what occurred based on what we know right now. The images and information you're about to see may be disturbing. When a police officer uses force to arrest a suspect or defend against an attack, it can be graphic and difficult to watch. >> is difficult to watch for sure. >> In addition, there may be strong language used by those shown in the video. As such, viewer discretion [music] is advised, especially for young children and sensitive viewers. >> And dog lovers. >> On June 13th, 2026 at around 8:55 p.m., Topanga Patrol Division officers responded to a radio call for a screaming woman inside an apartment in the 7500 block of Jordan Avenue. >> That could be anything. Let's listen to the 911 call. >> LA City 911 operator 972. >> Hi, I'm not sure if anyone called it in yet, but um I heard my >> [music] >> neighbor uh at 75 Jordan Avenue. I think their unit is um she's been screaming "Oh my god" for 20 minutes. Like something really bad happened. I just uh was wondering if someone could do a wellness check on them. >> Okay. So, they only need a wellness check? >> I'm not sure what it is, but I was out on my balcony and they're screaming "Oh my god." It's been a long time now. >> Okay, did you hear or see anything else? >> No, I didn't see anything. They're just screaming like something horrible happened. >> Upon arrival, the officers met with the caller who directed them to the apartment where the screams were heard coming from. A portion of this incident was captured on the responding officer's body worn video. Body worn video cameras are used by most officers assigned to field duties. They are worn at chest level and capture a general perspective within line of sight from that angle. The angle of the camera prohibits viewers from seeing everything [music] the officer saw and experienced. So, that's an important thing to keep in mind here. The body camera doesn't show every angle that the cop could see with his eyes. That's a valid point that the police officers are making. He could have felt more in danger by something that he perceived that we don't see on this body cam. When I slowed the body cam down, I see a floppier dog barking and coming out into the breezeway. I don't see a dog charging with, you know, saliva dripping out of its mouth waiting to bite me. But, I'm Monday morning quarterbacking this and I wasn't on the scene about to get bit. I get that. At the end of this video, I have to say this. Speaking on behalf of the officers, I can't say that he violated policy or he violated the law. Morally speaking, I would not have shot this dog if this were me. Legally speaking, I think he can reasonably articulate why he did shoot the dog and I think his reasonable articulable explanation will be within policy guidelines. I don't think this officer deserves to be fired. He just should be ashamed of himself for shooting this poor dog. But, at the end of the day, I don't think he violated policy. Certainly, he didn't violate the law. I don't think the police department's going to take any action against him. Well, what do you think? You've seen both sides. You've seen the slow motion part. Comment below. Tell me what you think. Was this justified or was this just a bully that doesn't like dogs? And if you want to see more bully cop videos, take a look at this one.
