Hey everybody, Dr. Judge here. Let's watch this video of a routine traffic stop that quickly escalates into an arrest. And you're not going to believe why. >> Hello. >> What's up? >> What's the rush? >> Um, I'm just trying to get to work. I have a cruise control. >> So, 10 minutes. >> You're doing 96? >> I was not aware I was doing 96. I had the cruise control set at 85. >> Okay. You've heard my videos on this. If you're a Dr. judge follower at all. You know, the biggest mistake this lady just made was talking. She said, "Oh, I didn't know I was going 96. I thought I was only going 85." Well, let's wait and see what the speed limit is and if that was a proper thing to say. Maybe she shouldn't have said, "I had the cruise control set at 85." Good grief. Just don't say anything. When a police officer walks up and says, "The reason I stopped you was or do you know how fast you were going?" Don't ever answer that question. It's It's never a good idea for you to tell the officer that you were speeding because it basically proves their case for them. But let's watch how this escalates. It gets worse. I promise. >> I mean, okay, even let's give you the difference. Say you were doing 85. That's still 35 mph. The speed limit. >> I understand. >> But like I said, >> so it's a 50 mph zone and she's admitted to going 35 miles over the speed limit. That's reckless driving in most jurisdictions. And this officer is about to write her some citations. >> I need your driver's license, registration, proof, insurance. >> I don't have my physical driver's license. It's It's in the mail on the way to me. Um I have a passport. >> Okay. You can't drive a car then until you have your license on you. I [clears throat] don't think the attitude's going to help your situation. Okay. >> The last time I was pulled over by a cop, they pulled over two people at one time in the middle of the road. So, I'm sorry. And he came up to the car and put his hand on his gun. I'm sorry if I seem a little out of out of touch right now. >> I got you. I'm not them. >> Obviously, I'm not done any of that stuff. >> Doesn't know that. >> So, everybody handles the stress of a police stop differently. Some people get a little more stressed out than others. This girl is on the edge because she had a prior police interaction that caused her some trauma. And so, this stop has triggered that previous trauma and she is going to lose it. Wait until you see how bad this gets. >> I need you to step out of the vehicle and come around back to your trunk with me. >> Why? >> Cuz we're going to take care of paperwork back here. >> What paperwork? >> The paperwork I'm about to provide you back here. >> Okay. Why? >> Because I'm giving you an order to get I just didn't know like I I don't know why. You need to get out of the car. Why do I need to get out of the car? >> Because I have paper to take care of and for my safety and for convenience, it's taken care of back here. >> So, I disagree with that. It's not for his safety. It's because he can. He's got the power to order her out of the car. He already knows she's on the edge. It doesn't make any sense for safety reasons to get this girl out of the car on this big highway like to write her some tickets. Write her the ticket from your car. Deliver it to the window right where you're standing so she doesn't have to endanger herself getting out of the car. This is not for officer safety. This is a power play. and he's cop explaining to her why he can because he's ordered her to do so. Now, can he order her to do so? Certainly, he can. Under Pennsylvania versus Mims, you all know that. You've watched this channel long enough to know that he's allowed to ask her out of the car. I just think it's abusive here. What do you think? Comment below. Do you think this officer should have, not could have. I want to know if he should have asked her out of the car. >> Okay, I'm not going to have a bunch of people on the side of the Gandandy Boulevard. It's a safety issue. Okay, this isn't that big of a deal. Sorry if you're okay. >> So, I don't know if you heard that. She asked if her friend could get out with her and he says he he basically spouts off the whole reason that I think this is a bad idea to start with. He's not going to have all these people standing on the side of the highway while traffic's going by. Well, why then are you asking her out of the car, officer? You should not want anybody out of that car. It's just a bully. I'm sorry. What do you think? Justified or just a bully? It's not that big of a deal, but you are making it a big deal. Yes. I'm asking her to simply do something I ask people to do every day. >> And I told you it's because it's for my safety. This is where I conduct this type of paperwork as at the back of your vehicle. >> I've never been asked to get outside of my car before. >> Well, today you are over. >> Sorry. >> So, at this point, you need to step out of the vehicle because I'm giving you an order to do so. >> Excuse me. Right around back here, please. >> You want to turn to face me so I can explain some things to you? >> Sure. >> Fantastic. Your driver's license is suspended. >> It's not. >> You failed to pay a traffic citation out of Pasco and they suspended on the 19th. >> 6 months to pay that ticket. >> Your driver's license is actively suspended. >> Person told me that I had 6 months to pay that ticket. I actually reinstated my license a few months ago. got that handled >> and now you're telling me that my license is suspended. I haven't received notification of this and I know this isn't your fault, sir, but I have been going through a lot lately. >> So, that tells you a little bit more about this girl. She's been going through a lot lately. She's really highrung here. And I'm not blaming her necessarily. This is this is the stress talking. This is the stress of being pulled over by a police officer. And it's different for everybody. Some people handle it better than others. This girl's not handling it well at all. And I think the cop knows that. I think he's just basically playing off of that a little bit. And I think he accelerated this un unreasonably so. But you comment below. What do you think? Should he have handled it this way? >> So I understand all that, but here are the simple facts today. Okay. You don't have a license on you in the system, which is real time. >> It is showing as suspended, and that's what I have to go by. If there's a clerk or something like that, that is something that you're simply gonna have to take care of at a later date in court. >> So, what happens now? >> So, I'm about to issue you some notices to appear for court in lie of making a physical arrest and taking it to jail cuz I don't want to do that. >> All right. >> I'm fixing to issue you some citations in lie of arrest because I don't want to do that. Let's see if he lives up to that promise. >> You can't drive this car. If she has a valid license, she's the one. Perfect. She'll take over for you. >> But you're gonna have a court date that you're going to have to appear for. Okay. The court date is going to get mailed to you. You're going to have a court date for driving with suspension and for your speed for doing 96 and a 50. If you don't hear anything from the court in the next 30 days, the recommendation that I tell everyone is make sure you call the Penllis County Clerk of Court because if you miss this court date for any reason, they issue a warrant for your arrest. Okay. I'm going to need a couple of things from you. First is going to be a signature at the bottom of both these citations next to the blue X. It's not admission to guilt. simply saying you're aware you're going to receive a court date in the mail and you promise to appear for it. >> Okay, he's asked her to sign the citation. So, it's not an admission of guilt. It's only acknowledging that you received the citation. Your mark, your signature acknowledges that you've received this citation. Watch what she does. >> All right, I'm going to go ahead and crumple these up. I'm going to go print out a new copy. If you don't appropriately sign the citations, ma'am, I will be forced to make a visible arrest. Okay. >> Oh my gosh. She took the pen and she went and exited and it pissed this officer right off. And he basically said, "Okay, I'm going to crumple these up. I'm going to throw them away. I'm going to write a new citation because you didn't sign it well enough for me. You didn't sign it to my satisfaction." Is that legal? No. Not in any state in the union. That's not legal. Any mark that this lady makes is considered a signature everywhere. And this officer is buttth hurt and he's going to take it out on this girl. And if she doesn't sign this next one just perfectly, guess who's going to the pokey? >> Give you one more opportunity to comply. >> You physically saw me sign those. Correct. >> Signature. Correct. >> No, that's not a signature. >> Okay, buddy. Cop here. Just agreeing with the first cop. He's being a bully, too. And that's the problem that I've got with with officers today. When you back up another officer on the scene of a traffic stop and you see him do something abusive like this, call him out on it. Go tell him, "Look, dude, any mark." I mean, surely one of these cops knows the definition of signature under the law. A signature is basically any mark that acknowledges that you that you signed it. Any mark that you make is if you if you say it's your signature, it's your signature. How is this officer to know that that's not the proper signature? Why does he get to say that? Why does he get to take her to jail because she didn't sign it exactly like he wanted to? Let's watch on see if he comes to his senses or if he actually goes through with this arrest. >> From pen to paper, you physically see me sign. That is my signature. It does not have to be legible. >> Okay. >> You have nothing else to say. It's not a signature. It says who? >> Okay. He's trying to work with you. I don't know why you're not working. Why are you interrupting >> right now? to get out of the car. Handed them to me and I could have signed them in the safety of my car. >> You want me to say something? >> I can't disagree with her there. Why is she not allowed to sign this citation in the safety of her own car? I still don't believe he asked her out. I think he did that just because he could. What do you think? Comment below. >> And then you interrupt me, so I'm not going to say anything. >> All right, ma'am. So again, your signature is as it appears on your driver's license. This is not admission to guilt. >> That's not true. This signature is as it appears on your driver's license. That's not the law, officer, and you need to learn the law before you start taking people to jail. Just my opinion. >> This is simply an acknowledgement that you're aware you're going to receive a court date in the mail. >> So, simply just need your compliance. >> Do you want to see my actual signature? >> All right. Go ahead and turn around. Place your hands behind your back for me. >> I'M NOT PLEASE. [screaming] BABY, >> stay there. Stay there. >> Stop. >> Stop. >> Stop. >> 16. I'm saying 15. Got to get a cage cruiser. >> I will talk I'll talk to you in a second. [screaming] >> Please. Please, please. >> Step up. >> Yeah. 104. I need a cage cruiser. They can expedite one being uncooperative. >> Please, please, please. >> Raise your hand if you think she's being uncooperative. She's very stressed out. I don't understand why necessarily, but she's she's got a prior experience with cops that really freaked her out. And she's really freaked out. I don't think she's being uncooperative. I think she's just exhibiting the symptoms of some significant stress. That's That's what I think. And I think this cop ought to be able to identify that and treat her with a modicum of respect. What do you think? Comment below. >> Please, BABY. [screaming] [crying] >> I'm trying to be. >> No, you didn't. >> Yes, I did. >> No, you did. [screaming] >> It was a simple thing you had to do. >> I did it, >> man. Please do me a favor. Have a seat in the vehicle. BABY, [screaming] >> you got her. Do what you got to do. Start your paperwork. >> I got the paperwork done. She refused to sign it. >> I know. I refuse to see it. There's a signature on. >> Raise your hand if you you think she refused to sign it. If you really think that that was u not a legitimate signature, please argue your point below and argue like a lawyer as you always do on this channel. I'll engage in conversation with you about that. I can argue that she legitimately signed it. The first time she put an X. It's still a signature under the law. But the second time, she made a little more effort. You can see it. Go back and watch it. She made a little more effort to make it look like she was doing a signature. And this cop was just offended from the beginning and he was not having it. >> Stop paper, sir. >> Not your signature. >> It is my signature. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. Relax. I am diagnosed with anxiety. And >> can you please go look at the piece of paper I sign [laughter] it? Please. They're making a big deal out of this. Please >> start walking back. >> No. Please. No. I sign in the paper. [crying] [screaming] [screaming] >> She can't take that. Okay. Take the [crying] >> She's got a chain and a couple bracelets on. So, here's the deal. Here's what happened. Okay. She has a suspended driver. >> Be sure to watch him cop explain to the passenger what really happened. Really? seriously that cops do this all the time. When they make a mistake like this, they're going to go cops playing to the other person and try to convince them that they were right >> and she's doing a speed of more than 30 mph. The speed in the state of Florida, one of those the driver's license is an arrestable offense. The other one is a mandatory appearance in court. >> I can't believe in the car. >> Explains to her second time. She again scribbled all over the citations. At that point, she's not acknowledging that she's going to appear in court. I cannot release her on a citation. So, she has to go to jail and appear for those charges now. >> So, do you agree with that? Do you think that she basically scribbled all over the citation? She did it flippantly. I'm not going to lie, there was some sarcasm behind that signature, but she didn't scribble on it. She didn't destroy it. She made an effort to make a signature and she wanted this officer to know that she's frustrated with him. I think that's why she did it. But he wanted her to know who was in charge. He wanted her to know who had the power. What do you think about that? Do you think this cop was right or do you think the girl was
