Hey, >> sir. >> Sir, I'm just trying to listen. We're just doing a welfare check on you. >> Yes, I'm not being detained. >> Not right now. I need to talk to you. >> No, officer. He doesn't want to talk. And he has the right to walk away when you say, "No, you're not being detained." This cat did it perfectly. In my humble opinion, he should have walked away. Let's see where this interaction began and how he navigates this. are you being detained issue. He does it pretty well in my opinion. Let's see where it gets him in the end. >> Court is now in session. >> I sent that information to yourself as well. >> Hey Bob, >> are you Nathan? >> Are is your name Nathan? >> Hi. So your wife wanted us to check on you. >> My wife? >> Yeah. Are you going through something? Um, >> yeah. >> Can you put your hands out of your pocket for me? >> No, you're good. >> Am I being detained? >> No. No. Hey, I need you to come back over here and talk to me, though. >> That's a order. >> So, he says, "Am I being detained?" And she says, "No, no." So, he turns around and walks away. That's exactly what I teach people to do. And then she says, "No, but I want to talk to you." He says, "Is that a request or an order?" And now she says it's an order. And yet she's about to tell him again that he's not detained. What would you do in that situation? Most people would have just stayed around and talk to the police officer and find out what they're what they're asking about. But when you say, "Am I being detained?" And the officer says, "No, you should do exactly what this man did and walk away." If they press you and do detain you, the only thing you should say is, "I don't answer questions without a lawyer." Let's see what happens next. Hey, >> sir. >> Yes or no? >> Sir, I'm just trying to listen. We're just doing a welfare check on you. >> Yes, I might be in between. Yes or no? >> Not right now. I need to talk to you. >> He don't want to talk. >> Hey, come here. >> Come here. >> Bully cop alert. This guy's going to be a little more pressing on, hey, I want to talk to you. I'm just asking you, justified or just a bully. You be the judge. >> Well, it's not wasting your time right now. You're just saying you're not a bully. We got to >> Well, if you're suicidal, that is a crime. >> It's a crime to be suicidal. I'm not suicidal, so >> Well, that's not what we got. >> Well, that's Do you have your ID on you? Nope. >> You're going to go to jail. Walk away. >> Then take me to jail. >> If you walk away from me, you're going to jail. >> Really? >> Yes. >> Obstruction. >> So, keep arguing. >> That's such a BS charge. Obstruction. If you walk away from me, you're going to be arrested for what? For obstruction. That is the most abused charge in the history of mankind. If you've used it and you're a cop, you're a bully. Full stop. This man's not hurting anybody. and he's told them, "I'm not even thinking about hurting myself. This is a welfare check. Remember, he works at this Walmart, so he's gone to his employment, but the wife called and wanted them to do a welfare check," which they've done, and he looks fine to me. You can't justify arresting this guy because he doesn't want to talk to you. Comment below. Tell me what you think. Make sure you argue like a lawyer cuz I might argue back with you. >> I'm being detained for what? >> We got a call. We're here to talk to you. >> I don't care if you want to talk to us or not. >> Okay. So, you're just going to keep me out in the cold? >> I will. >> So, that's a little different. We got a call. We're here to talk to you. I don't care if you want to talk to me or not. If you don't care whether you want to talk to me or not, then you're under arrest. Learn your job here, officer. If he wants to walk away from you, he gets to walk away from you. But you're a tyrant. >> So, what is going on? I'm not talking to you without any further question. >> That's fine. >> So, listen. I teach people all the time seven famous words. I don't answer questions without a lawyer. I'm not saying you're not going to get arrested for it because you just might. You're going to bump into bully cops like this all over America. Still, I stand by what I believe. I don't answer questions without a lawyer is the only thing you should say to a cop. Oh, well, you can detain me without paying test. >> I think you're just intimidating me, you [ __ ] [ __ ] >> All right, words. You [ __ ] [ __ ] >> Huh? All right. >> So, he's been arrested. Spoiler alert. He's ultimately charged with obstruction of justice. When they pat him down after they arrest him, they find a pill container in his pocket that has somebody else's name on it. in order to just make up charges as we go along, which is what these cops are doing. They charged him with theft of this medication because it wasn't his. They didn't have any probable cause that he stole it, but they charged him with that anyway. Charges were later dropped against this guy. Um, but when you're going on a welfare check as a police officer, which happens a lot in this, you know, even when I was a police officer back in the 80s and 90s, happened a lot. people wanted us to check on other people, but there's only so much that you as a police officer can do if that person doesn't want to talk to you. And in this particular instance, they should have walked away. If they had any evidence that he was really a danger to himself or he was going to hurt himself, then you call mobile crisis. Mobile crisis comes out, then you put it off on them, and then they talk to him and and ascertain whether or not he's he's suicidal or not. If you've got no evidence of of him threatening to commit suicide and he's told you I'm not suicidal, then you don't have cause to arrest him. As always here at the Dr. Judge channel, you be the judge, and tell me what you think. Thanks for watching this video. Be sure to like it, comment on it, argue your point below, and share it with somebody you love. We'll see you next time. Court is now adjourned.
