police ask you this trick question, here's what to do. In my practice as a DUI defense attorney and as a former police officer, I'm going to tell you about it so you don't fall for it. If you're being investigated for what's called a DUI, which is driving under the influence, you're going to be asked a series of questions. One of the questions that the police officer is going to ask you is on a scale from 0 to 10. Zero being completely sober and 10 being knee crawling drunk. Most people will say I'm not a zero because he knows I've had something to drink. So, I can't say that. So, I'm going to say a one or maybe a two. And then he'll say, "So, you're feeling the effects just slightly." And you might say, "Yeah, just slightly." That's a trick. He just talked you into confessing to DUI. So, if you admit that, then you've just proven that element for them beyond a reasonable doubt because you've admitted that you're impaired. Why would you answer that question? So be a hero and just say zero.
