Hello. >> Is there any way I can grab the kids? >> Yeah. Where are they at? >> They're inside. >> Yeah. >> Be all right. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. >> You going to have to take them, right? >> I I don't know yet. We're just talking right now. >> All right. Let me get them. >> Sure. Yeah. Yeah. >> No, we're just going to chat. >> Okay. Yeah, I'm I'm fine. I mean, you want me He's got the kids. >> Yeah, he's going to say he's going to grab them real quick. >> Okay, that's >> Where do you want to talk at? >> We can talk out here. We can talk inside where >> Whatever's most comfortable for you. I don't talk inside me. I'm fine. >> Are they gone already? >> Not yet. No, he's in the house with them. >> Okay, I'm going let them leave and then we can chat. >> I appreciate it. Thank you. Hey brother. >> Yes, sir. >> Does he does he need to take kids to his house or can we talk out here? >> We can talk out here. It's okay. Stay there. Yeah, if you don't mind. I just don't want to disrupt the kids. >> That's fine. So, I guess we're just getting your side of side of things. >> Yeah. Um, so worked all day. Julie's been off yesterday and today. This has been an ongoing deal with household chores, finances, a lot of domestic stuff. Um, never to this level. Um, so today I come home and there's a dryer full of laundry. There's a just thing full of dishes. Discussed this morning like, "Hey, I really need I'm working all week. I'm got a lot of stuff going on. Please knock out the dishes. Please knock out the laundry. I got it all handled. Come home today. Dryer full of laundry, washer full of clothes. Like the dryer's full of kids clothes that I need to get out to get the kids laundry and stuff done. So I'm frustrated. So I'm like text her. I'm like, "Hey, listen. I'm going to fluff the clothes." I mean, it was a little passive aggressive. I'm like, "I'm going to fluff the clothes that need to be dried and put up." No response. They eventually get home cuz she took JT to counseling. I was already frustrated with that because she was late for that. Late picking JT up. He stay outside for 20 something minutes at school even though she's off today. Once again, I go into the history. This has been an ongoing deal. So I I get done with dinner. I cook dinner. Come home, cook dinner after working all day. I get the laundry out of the dryer and put on the bed. And I'm working. She's They're eating dinner. She's eating dinner. I'm working through the laundry. I'm like, I got it. And I'm I'm I'm pissed. No, no, no lie. I'm pissed. So, I'm working laundry, folding stuff, putting stuff up, getting ready. She comes in and kind of pushing shoulders me out of the way and says, "I got it." And I said, "No, I [ __ ] got it. Forget it. You've you've had all day to do this. Like, I've worked all day. I've come home. I cooked dinner and you've done nothing. Well, I'm going to get around to it." I'm like, "It's it's it's it's some it's 6:00 at night. Like, you've had all day to do these things. And you know, she's like, "You played a video game yesterday?" "Yeah, I played I played two hours of video game yesterday after I worked all day, and I know you don't care anything about that." So, she shows me the way. I shoulder her back. I'm like, "I [ __ ] got it. I [ __ ] got it. I'll handle it." And she grabs me by my right arm and kind of shoves me back into the bathroom. I shove her back and she turns around and shoves me really hard into the bathroom. I kind of go backwards and I shove her back and she hits me in the face on the the left side of my face and I hit her back. I pushed her back and hit her back towards the face to get her off me. I mean, it was I'm not That's the honest to God truth. >> Okay. >> If I need to go with you, I will. >> What happened after that? >> She turned around. I said, "You need to get your [ __ ] and go out of the house. You just need to go. I'm done. I'm over this. You need to get an attorney. This has been an ongoing ordeal. I just You can go to Chassis. You can go to Christies, which are free friends. And I just need you to go." She left, drove off. I didn't hear anything else from her. I folded the rest of the clothes and put the clothes up. The kids went Cody come over and got the kids, took them to their house or to his h their house over there. I continued to work on stuff around the house. Straightened everything back up from the floor mats that were knocked over and everything else from the bathroom. And at some point, I tried to call Cody, called her phone accidentally. I immediately hung up. So then her phone rings back to me. I answer it. It's Chassity, not Julie. It's like mom says, "What do you What do you want?" I said, "I don't need anything. I need y'all to just leave me alone. I don't have nothing else to say. I have nothing else to do. I'm I'm done. I'm done with this. This has gone on for 6 years back and forth. I I can't do this with y'all any with you anymore. And I said, "Please do not call me. Please do not contact me." And this is George Chassity who's answering her phone. "Please do not contact me any further. I I got stuff to do. I got two kids here. I need to get ready for bed. I'm done. No fists were throwing. No punches or kicks or anything like that. Just shoving back and forth and that's it. Okay. So, for clarification, whenever you said that you had pushed her across her face to get her off of you, how did that how did that happen? >> She had me down towards her sink. If you look, we have a double sink in the bathroom. She had me down towards that and I come across and and went like that and shoved her off me. This is after I got slapped in the left side of my face. And it was just shoving back and forth >> whenever she How did she slap? Just like open hand slap slap against my face. >> And that was after like the second or third kind of like shove >> back and forth. Yes, sir. >> Where did that happen at? >> In all in the bathroom. >> Um, is there a way that we can see the bathroom without like >> I'll I'll let you see the bathroom >> without having the kids. >> The kids are in the bedroom. Okay. So, I'm welcome. You welcome to come in look at anything. Okay. The only thing I changed in here, nothing else was knocked over, anything is the floor mats were pushed around. >> Okay. So, where kind of walk me through like where you were. >> So, I was here doing laundry, folding the boys clothes. >> Yeah. >> Okay. She comes in, shoulders me over, and says, "I got it." And I pushed back and I said, "No, forget it. I got it. I I'm I'm You You had all day to do this. I got it. It needs to get done. And she shows him back and kind of grabs me by the arm and kind of turns me around like this. So, I shove her off me. I'm like, I [ __ ] got it. I'm [ __ ] done with it. And it's it goes in this whole bull back and forth that you played video games yesterday. You could have done this yesterday. >> Yeah. >> Whatever. It doesn't matter. So, she comes and pushes me back. I come back here. I push her back. >> Okay. like, "Leave me the [ __ ] alone." She shows me back. We come back into the bathroom. She hits me across the face. I come back over here. I come over this way and I hit back towards her. It gave him my right hand. Sorry. Back towards her. Get off me. We shove back and forth. The kids are freaking out in front of the door. So, I literally shut the door cuz I don't want the kids to continue to watch us back and forth. And she holds her face and she's like she just I said just I said just [ __ ] go. Just leave me alone. Just [ __ ] go. And she grabs her stuff and leaves. >> Okay. At any point were you out here and her in there with the door shut and she called your brother while she was here? I >> I She never called anybody while she was in the house. >> She walked out of the bathroom, door was open, the kids were out. I don't know what point my oldest called Cody. He called Cody at some point. Cody come and got the kids. >> So he called Cody, >> I think. So without talking to I I couldn't answer that honestly without looking at his phone. We can look at his phone if you want to look at it. >> At some point somebody called Cody. >> Okay. >> Julie got her keys, got her purse, went to the car. >> Okay. >> They contacted me say, "Hey, Julie needs her scrubs. I got her stuff together, put bags in, put everything together for her, her medicine, everything. Cody's got it. Cody's going to give it to her." Okay. Right. Okay. [Applause] All right. Um, let me make a phone call >> and um I guess just hang tight for a second. Sure. Huh? >> I guess he was upset with her and he grabbed her on her shoulders and shove her against the wall and then he took his hand and slapped her as hard as he could across her face and grabbed her by. Were you there? >> No, I was down the hill. I had just caught a family and he was already aggravated. >> Um and he grabbed her by her hair and then um he was like around and then she walked her in the bathroom. [Music] >> Do you want to talk in front of everybody or would you like her to step off to the side and talk? I want her. >> Yeah, it's okay. She just came here. She's She's in her area. >> Would you like to talk to me away from everybody or do you want to talk here? >> You want to step over here? I got your right where there's people around. [Music] >> You can sit down. >> So Talk to me about what happened tonight. >> He was irritated when he came home laundry. I was going to do it. He stopped me. He jumped up and was doing it. And I told him that as soon as I got in the meeting, I was going to do it. And he said that when I was eating, I came in and finish it. I got to eat. and went in there to finish the laundry and he wouldn't he wouldn't leave alone. And so I pushed my way in between him and the bed to finish the laundry and he stumbled back and then he pushed me on the bed and I'm not going to lie, I turned and pushed him back and he stumbled back into the bathroom which is right there by the bed. So, just a second. The first time that you pushed him, did you did you use your hands or did you just >> work your way through like with your body? >> Yeah. I just I just put my body between him and the bed >> and he kind of stumbled back and he pushed me of course, you know, over onto the bed >> and I turned around and I pushed him back and he he stumbled back into the bathroom. Yes. >> And he came out of the bathroom with both hands right here on me. and pushed me back. Of course, I pushed him back again and he was, you know, telling me that I thought I was going to be big and bad, you know, to lay hands on him going to go at it. And he, I think, slapped me opened across the side of my left side of my head so hard that I saw stars and immediately could not hear out of my left ear. And then I went to go out at the bathroom and that's when he grabbed my hair and put my hair down >> and just all around my head and my right ear is just like rushing like under water or something. And then I can't I can't hear out of it hardly either, but I can't hear it all out of my left ear right now. And our son, our 10-year-old came to the door of the bathroom and was freaking out and so he shut the door the bathroom, shut me in the bathroom with him and I was trying to get him off me. So I pushed him off me and he almost fell back in the bathtub and then he just came at me again and I was trying to get out of the bathroom so I could get to my phone cuz it was in the living room. I don't really know really what happened after that to be honest with you. And I finally got away from him and I went back to the bathroom to get away from him. Then I locked the door and he hit the bathroom door so hard that even with it locked it came open. And I shut it again and I got my phone at that point and I called his brother who was next door to come over and Cody just hung up and came right over. When I heard Kobe in the living room and when I came out, put my shoes on and grab my purse. I called Chassie in the meantime to come get me and I got my purse and came out. I got my car was leaving and she came up the hill. So, I parked down at her house and she brought me here. So he >> he only openly open hand slapped you once across the face and the rest of the time was more pushing and grabbing each other. [Applause] [Music] freshly plant [Music] The boys are first. So whenever you shut the door and he get it open again, is that was your phone in the bathroom and he was able to shut it again and call his brother when his brother came over? [Music] [Music] So when he came over, you don't really remember everything that happened after that. >> When I heard Cody living room was when I left the bathroom with my shoes on and got my purse and got my keys and Cody asked me what was going on and I said I'm going to the ER. I think Cody's got the boys. [Music] [Music] So, >> do you know before you went to the bathroom is when do you know which son it was that opened the door or was screaming and he shut the door on him? Do you know which one it was or just one of the boys did that? Uh, our 14-year-old, >> what's his name? [Music] >> Came to the bathroom door cuz he always freaks out when we fight. >> Yeah. >> Just even just verbally. We've never had anything hands on. >> But I mean, even if we >> are verbally, you know, arguing, he doesn't like it. He's autistic. Try again. [Music] [Music] >> And so right now you said you feel like you have water in your ear. >> I can't hear out of my left ear. >> Left ear. >> It hurts. My whole face feels like it's on fire in the side. This [ __ ] feels like a head stuck in a box. And then this side is just a whooing sound. [Music] Mhm. [Music] >> Was there any other places that he hit you or injured you or anything like that? >> Just here when he, you know, hit me on his force and, you know, shoved me back and just pulled my hair and, you know, hit me in the head. That was it. Heat. Heat. [Music] Now, is your first name? Julie or is it something? Just Julie? What's >> your date of birth? [Music] It's 205. Skyway Skyline >> and a phone number for you. [Music] >> Did you hit him at all? >> I did push him >> outside of just whenever you said that you pushed him. Did you hit him at all? >> No, sir. Okay. >> All right. M [Music] he's going to grab some pictures for me. Okay. [Music] >> You want to go to the end in this hallway? Open. You pull your hair back on the cell phone. Yeah. Have you noticed if you have any red marks or any kind of bruising starting to show or anything in this area? >> Um, do you want to step in the bathroom and look and see for me real quick? >> Okay. A group of people around. >> Should I take a picture anyways >> without the top part of her shirt? >> Probably. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, I can ask Sharon, too. >> But I think it's just been an upset. >> Okay. I'm going to need you to do is I'm going to need a picture. Okay. So, if you could maybe take your shirt off and put it across your breast area where it shows the chest up here. And then in the bathroom, is anybody else in there? Then I'll step in there, take a picture, and then you can put your shirt on. Okay. Unless you want me to try and get Shaya to do it. >> I don't I don't think Do you Would you prefer or a female to come up here and take a picture of that? Okay. Okay. As long as you're doing just you. >> Okay. [Music] Yeah, I'll make sure. >> Make sure. >> Are you ready for me? Good. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. How do you get around? >> Okay. Okay. So, I've got the photographs. So, I need you at your store that I need. I'm going to document this. We're going to get the process started that needs to happen. Okay. Um, your medical records and any of that kind of stuff you get, you're going to need to save it. Okay. Let me see if I can get one more closeup of your eye cuz your eyes look really red and it may be just from the crying, but it may not be and I'd rather have the picture of it. Okay. Um, you have any questions, >> do not apologize cuz this is not your fault. Okay, we all have marital arguments that should never go this far. Okay, >> this just brings a whole new element to it though. >> It does. But it's okay. then we're here for you. I would say tonight stay somewhere else, okay? Until everything calms down. >> I wouldn't go back home right now, okay? And obviously if you you can't tell you not to. I mean, I would advise you not to, but if you do go back home and you need anything, call us. We'll be here, okay? You have any questions for me. Okay? If you need anything else, you let us know. Okay. Okay. >> All right. >> Thank you. All right. You want anything else? Okay. So, there's no like easy way to do this. Um, so we do need to take some photos of you. Um, and of the bathroom area. Um, we're I'm going to take you myself with me. Um, we'll go over to the PE for a minute. Um, I do need to secure your weapon, your >> It's all in a bedroom. You go get it all where it's at. >> Okay. Um, like your credentials, whatever. >> Um, and then your car keys. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Um, your brother, is he good to watch the kids? >> Apparently, she's already told text him that he's she's going to get to take care of the kids. >> Well, she's she's not going to be able to do that. So, cuz she's going to go with us as well. >> Yes, sir. >> So, um, >> already put you in this. I apologize about both of you. I'm embarrassed. We'll get to that part. >> I don't I don't even want to. >> So, >> I'm probably just going to shut up and >> um your brother is good to watch them. >> Okay. >> They'll take very careful. >> Okay. Um I do have to inform DHS by protocol. We have to release them into their custody and they make the the decision on that they're good with staying with their brother. Um, so let's do pictures first and then I'll >> go inside me. >> Yeah. Well, yeah. Um, >> I'm just I'm sorry. I'm just asking. >> Yeah, we can we can do that wherever. Um, wherever's easiest. Are your kids still in the bedroom? >> They're in the bedroom. >> Okay. Yeah. >> Sorry. I'll call you back. um kind of let him know what's going on. >> Yeah, >> they're taking both of us. Um can you take care of the kids for me? They're going to call DHS. DHS is going to talk to you about keeping the kids. >> Okay. Can you please get in the school for me, please? They don't care. >> No, I'll talk I'll explain more in just a little bit. >> Okay. Keys are in the drawer. I'll give those to you. There's all my stuff over there. Okay. No, I'm going to hold on. [Music] [Applause] I don't know where I want to like take some [Applause] All 128 171 128 121 passing 189 Chris Lane address John Carter lot 24 backyard Building 208. [Applause] I gave him my my IDs. I gave him my ID. >> Okay. Um where where are your keys at? >> I'm getting them for you. >> Okay. >> I'm taking my house keys off of it. >> Yeah. >> Please. >> You want to take those with you and have them in your property in case you get out and need to get back in your house? >> I mean, I'm not going anywhere tonight >> till I see a judge tomorrow and I come with $1,000. >> Does your brother have a key? >> Yeah, Cody has keys. I'll just make >> I'll take him with me because he's at work. >> Yeah. >> Here's that one. >> And then there's the spare. >> Oh, sorry. >> Sorry. >> It's all good. >> Um on the pockets is a number for him. So, I have somebody call. My mom's out of state. >> Okay. >> We'll go outside. >> Okay. Tell my boys I love them. >> Okay. >> Well, you can if you want to. We'll step out and >> No. Okay. >> I just want to go. >> Thank you. Give my boys. Okay. Let's step all the way down here. Just throw that in that box right there. All right. Okay. I guess badge. Well, I got his uh C badge. I don't know if you got his >> I got his Yeah, I got that one. >> Got his radio body camera. >> Um, I guess uh I'll leave this with you. Hey, they're not >> No. >> Okay. >> Yeah. No. >> Okay. All right. Thank you. >> I'm just going to snag some photos from the bedroom. [Applause] Hello. [Music] Stop calling me. Go ahead. Goodbye. [Applause] He also showed up at the >> Yeah. Well, I I I'm I'm having to >> I'm having I I've got somebody I need to talk to right now. Okay. >> Okay. >> Sorry. >> I know. >> Um >> I hate to put you in this position. Um I'm going to leave an officer here. Uh DHS is going to have to come out and talk to you. They'll just make sure that our our protocol is anytime that there's um number one children witness to an assault and then both parents are being arrested. We have to release them into state custody. They will then determine whether or not that they that they're you were good for them to be placed with. There's no reason why they why you should why they shouldn't be, but that's I can't make that decision. So, they they're going to come out and talk to you. Um so, he's going to stay here until that happens. Um, we're also going to get another officer to come and take his Durango. Um, so we'll kind of be in and out for a little bit. But >> that's fine. >> Um, do you have any questions, comments, concerns right now? >> No, I I know how this goes, too. >> Okay. >> You know how it is. >> I'm so sorry. >> Hey, I mean, I'm >> I understand. Thank god I'm next door. >> Yeah. >> Oh, I mean, this is >> Yeah. >> nuts. So, >> all right. Absolutely. I get that. Yep. For sure. >> Yep. >> Thank you. >> Yep. All right. Um Tracy or Tasha is on her way with DHS. Um I don't know when. They said they were still at the office, so it shouldn't be too long. >> Okay. Um I need to get both the kids full names and date of birth. >> You want to get up in? >> I think so. >> I don't know. >> Hey, um can we get your kiddos's info? >> Yeah. Whatever you need, man. >> Will your Will your brother know it or >> Cody knows it? But I can give it to you. It don't matter. >> Yeah. >> The oldest is date of birth is [Music] >> okay. The youngest is all three of those. >> Okay. What else do you need? >> That's all I need. >> Here. >> When I get out of here. >> Okay. >> You good here? >> Yep. >> Um I'll work out logistics on getting that. >> I've already called Rod. So, as soon as you get done with that, bring me somebody to drive this unit back. And Rod is doing that right now. I want you to drive it back. That way there's no >> Well, just if you want to just ride with um and have them bring you back to your car if you don't do that. >> Okay. I'll have >> whatever's easiest. I just I want you to have possession. I don't want somebody else to drive the car back. I got two. >> You want your windows cracked? >> No. >> You don't listen. It's I I don't want to do this as much as you don't want me to. >> I know you don't. I hate putting you in this position. >> I apologize. It's not his residence. It's going to be his friend and he's not on scene. >> Take me straight to the detention center. No, you're we're going to the PD first. >> I I don't know. >> Yes, ma'am. Just a second. >> Hey, Zach, it's Hunter. >> Yeah. >> Hey, will you show me in route to the PD? Um I will have a one in custody. >> Yeah, I you me uh keep the bottle open or go ahead and close it again. >> There is Yeah, just I'm just letting you know that I'm in route to the PD and I have one. You don't have to put anything anywhere. Well, 163 had me reopen it to put the adjust to the ground. >> Okay. Um well then um that's fine. Um I'm trying I'm trying to mitigate as much as not being >> viewable to the public. >> I go ahead and like redo R1 and that way it's not open. >> Let's just do this. Do do this. Do um leave it as it is as an R1. Just leave it closed. Um, and if you would just show me and route to the PD and we'll I'll mitigate that if I'm I'm not trying to >> Okay. Thank you. Mercy.
