arrested January 21st. But police
evidence of the incident leading up to
this interaction with APD shows he was
acting aggressively before the cops were
called, even grabbing a broom to use as
a weapon.

Lunford, another man, and two women just
finished eating at the Waffle House on
Yale near Gibson in southeast
Albuquerque. When they paid their bill,
Lunford claims the employees did not
give him his change. They say they did.
That escalated into a fight that went
into the back room.
Surveillance video shows he and the
other man attack the employees with one
of the women throwing punches while the
other woman tries to break up the fight.
That fight lasted about 2 minutes before
the group leaves the restaurant in a
black car. Police spot the car and
attempt a traffic stop.

compliant there. I mean, he stopped it,
but he wasn't listening to our commands
there.

southbound here, ended up right here

during the initial highway stop, they
again were not listening. Um, front
passenger female had her door open, so I
just pulled her I got removed her from
the car, had her step out and walked her
back towards me. Um, sat in my vehicle,
came around to where Sergeant Alser
at right here between their two
vehicles. Um, first one that we were
working to get out was a male driver.
 He
again wasn't compliant with verbal
commands. Um he stepped out, still not
compliant, wasn't listening to us. Um he
kind of took a couple steps towards us,
so we just decided that we needed to
grab him cuz he's not obviously he's not
listening.

 So I go to grab him. Um
I was able to get one handcuff on his
right hand and
 was he still standing at
this point?

Got one handcuff on his right hand. Um
he pulled away from me. So like he
pulled his I went to grab his left hand,

tried to grab it. Um he turned towards
me. So I tried to pull him away from all
of that up against the vehicle to
control him better. Um that's when he
pushed me into the car.

there I figured now he's fighting us. So
I tried to do tried to take down him.
Tried to do a couple leg sweeps. They
didn't work. Eventually somehow I fell
backwards onto myself and he fell on top
of me. Um so as he fell on top of me
officer Garcia stepped in. Kind of
pulled him off of me cuz he was holding
me. He was holding me down. um got on
top of him, put him in face down
stabilization and were able to handcuff
him.

resistance, what level of force did you

uh right there. So they actually
stopped. We started to do a high-risk
stop there. He's like, "Let me put the
vehicle park. Let me put the vehicle in
park." And we're trying to give him
commands to get out of the vehicle. And
he just turns. So I He turns abruptly,
but I'm thinking like he's going to
park. Um,
and he just flies down. So I, Angel
deploys the dart. It's ineffective. I
round the corner and he's already 45
out.

 So I just come in to to
basically block in uh and start giving
them commands.
He's yelling back. We got passengers
coming out of the vehicle. It's it's
very hectic. Um, he keeps talking about
wanting to put the vehicle in park,
which is kind of odd. Um, at one point I
transitioned uh cuz we had another unit
here to taser.
He's still not following commands. I get
the back female passenger back in the
car. Uh, this female is trying to get
out. I don't really notice the male till
later. We get him out. Uh, and Angel
goes to put him in handcuffs. He starts
pulling away immediately. Um, Angel goes
to do like a leg sweep and the guy ends
up like grabbing uh, Angel and they end
up going to the ground. Um, I'm still
trying to watch that and watch these
guys because they've already tried to
get out of the vehicle.
Um, as he's dealing with them, I move up
to the front of the vehicle cuz his
brother's now exited the vehicle and
he's coming to help. And I I prone him
out on the ground. My laser my uh green
dot never was always at the low ready.
Uh but in the proximity of these dudes
got him proned out. I cuffed him.
 No,
there's no one on
 I cuffed that guy. We
got him detained and I detail uh
detained one of the females.
 Okay. And
when Angel was hands on, do you know if
when they went to the ground if it was
him taking him down or if it was kind of
other guy taking him down? He had his
arms around him. I at that point I'm not
sure who how that all happened because
again I'm trying to focus on I could see
that um
he's he's okay so I can f keep focus on
the car so we don't lose
 which was a
good thing because the the brother bails
out that's my brother that's my brother
to come help. I know that at one point
Angel was trying to put him in the car
and he yelled, "He reached for my gun."
So I heard him say that the guy was
grabbing at Angel's gun as he was
putting him in the car.

 And
there's obviously three subjects you
have in custody.
 We have four. Two males
and four in custody. Okay. And two
females.
 All four. There's only force
used on one of them to your knowledge at
least.

that it was the black Mazda. I could see
four people around it. They were all
looking at me. So they all saw me as I
was driving like in Alkazar behind him.
Called it out over the radio. Saw
Sergeant Giles pick them up on Louisiana
at Zoneyi. Sergeant Giles try to
initiate traffic stop on him with the
lights. Um they weren't stopping so I
came in behind him and start chase
missed star chase. Um they stopped at
they stopped at San Pedro and Zoui
temporarily. Um he stopped he was
initially kind of listening to us but
not. We were telling him put the car in
park, turn it off. He wasn't doing it.
He stayed in the vehicle the whole time.

on us, came southbound or parked down
here on San Pedro, found him crashed
here. Um so we pulled in behind him as
we are now. Um again, they weren't

We ran around to get the driver out,
which is a taller BMA, wanted to talk to
