Because these little Honestly not real. Some doesn't seem right. Some doesn't seem right. I need to test you a different kind. I need something else like a >> I got one of those too. >> Give me Give me something for all of them, hell. These pills ain't right. >> It's even turning yellow. It ain't What's yellow is not an indicator of meth, you know what I'm saying? But >> What color is that? >> Yellow. >> Well, yellow says it's oxycodone, bro. I did I did. I looked it up. Why would it be orange? >> Sir, I don't know. Brian, you're under arrest. >> Sir, I've never been to jail. Please don't arrest me. >> You're going to jail tonight, okay? >> What's good, YouTube? It's BB back in with another video and another reaction. And in today's video it's from the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office over there in South Carolina, where you have these Greenwood County Sheriff deputies stop this guy. And after they were talking to him for a little bit, they saw some pills on the side of him. So, they asked him about the pill bottles. And you will see what this guy was telling these officers that it was cyclobenzaprine. That's like for his stomach and stuff. And you having these officers swear up and down that they think that it's drugs. And you will see that they ended up arresting him over this because these officers wants to say that this is fentanyl. But it's kind of crazy how they suspected to be fentanyl, but yet when they were testing and everything, they weren't wearing no gloves. So, it really just goes to show that they really believe that it was fentanyl or they just want to get an arrest that night. I'mma to it get my reaction. Let me know what y'all think about in the comments section and let's get into the video. >> If you can hang up the phone for me. You were texting somebody as soon as I was walking up. All right. Yeah, if you can give me your license What are you doing on the Florida floor? Uh-huh. Yeah. Okay. I understand. >> Yeah. >> What are you so worked up about, man? >> Pill capsules on the keychain. Well, the reason we pulled you >> I just stopped you for no reason, okay? >> What's your window tint? But then secondly, you know, you were all over the road, man. You drove all the way in the other lane. All that and you came back across. That's the only reason we stopped you, okay? I have to step out of the vehicle, okay? No no weapons on you inside the car, right? I need you to turn and face the car for me, okay? I'm going to grab you by the waist. Are you okay with that? >> What's up, Bubba? >> Okay. Hey, let me ask you this. Why do you have your pants down, number one? >> I just had sitting in a fat. >> Okay. Okay. Number two, okay. I'm driving real nicely. >> There's nothing in the car. >> Is there anything illegal in the vehicle? Firearms, anything I need to know about? >> No, sir. >> 100% you're sure? >> Yep, 100%. >> Okay. Anything illegal on your person right now? >> No, sir. >> Sure? >> Yes, sir. >> You mind if I work that way? >> I mean, I don't think I'm shaking. It's just I'm >> Okay. You're extremely nervous, okay? >> My license is suspended, sir, and I can't afford it for my >> of car or anything like that. I'm just >> You're going to be honest with me, okay? But you're not under arrest, okay? >> Okay. >> All right. But we're going to make you sign the back of it. >> Yes, sir. >> Yes, sir. >> I'm just I swear to God. >> Yeah, you're more than a regular person to be nervous. >> Yeah, but I'm like naturally being anxious and this makes me >> This officer just opened his door like that, but I forgot we are in South Carolina. >> regular person to be nervous. >> Yeah, but I'm like naturally being anxious and this makes me >> All right, I'm going to ask you one more time. Look at me. >> I don't have any time to do this. What are you going to do? I don't have any I don't have I don't have any time to do this. >> What kind of >> You have all these things up here and >> I don't think you need to be leaving on autopilot. >> He said he don't or does? >> Yeah, I asked him if he had a problem with that. No, I didn't say you were under arrest. I'm just reading the Miranda. It's It's It's for your protection. >> Okay. >> Brian, what's your What's the blue pills, buddy? >> That's also that's for me. The blue pills are 10 mg, sir. The little blue ones are 10 mg. The circle ones that look like Roxies, cuz like I said, I'm on suboxone and in recovery, are um they're 20 mg. It's for my stomach. >> Okay. >> Once again, I'm very nervous. I I >> Well, I understand I understand that, but most pills don't look like that. So, we're going to test them, okay? Because these look very worn and honestly not real. And they're in the wrong pill bottle. You understand that's against the law, right? This pill bottle is for capsules. This pill bottle is not for pills. It's for capsules. >> Okay. I'm sorry, sir. >> Okay. Now, don't be sorry. I just want to get to the bottom of it. >> I have a prescription for it. >> Okay. >> I have a prescription for the capsules. >> Okay. I'll write you up here. >> You live in a You said you live in a halfway house in Florida? >> Yeah, bro. I was up in here like I told you. >> Ron, what was you in the halfway house for, buddy? Heroin? So, what What are you doing now to combat it? Is that what your boxes for? What was the last time What was the last time you used? June? Did you shoot the heroin or you smoked it? Nervous wreck. He's a nervous wreck. >> When you got that many officers around you, I don't blame him for being nervous. >> He has some packages. >> Got pockets on your shorts, Ron? >> Yes, sir. >> Turn around for me, buddy. >> Yes, sir. >> Thank you. Something don't seem right. Something doesn't seem right. >> Who was that? Damn. I did it. Like an idiot. They supposed to be capsules in here. And this was sealed. It's supposed to be 270 capsules in here. This was sealed on 3/16/2013, though. Yeah, that's what's bothering me. >> They was that worried about it, they would be wearing some gloves. >> I need another test kit, a different kind. Give me something else, like um Give me Give me something for all of them, hell. Like ecstasy or MDMA is what I'm looking at here. This don't make any sense. This is going to be heroin. That pill crushed up like it was No, I just did it. That right there, I mean that's his drug of choice actually. But I just did a heroin right here. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. That one covers all horizons. They're not turning yellow. I think they're doing good. Mhm. >> Something for air in the bowels. Something for air in the bowels. >> See how yellow they're all turning yellow? >> These These pills ain't right. They ain't no >> This is even turning yellow in in these. They ain't But this I mean but this yellow is not an indicator necessarily, you know what I'm saying? But But see how it's down in the bottom corner? How it's got that brown as look to it? >> Mhm. >> It does the same thing as this one. So I mean that's >> That's not right. These pills ain't right. They don't crush that easy. >> But I mean that's Looks like the yellow is It looks like they ain't like it's testing for oxycodone which means it's probably got some type of makeup like a monster. >> Yeah. >> You know what I mean? >> Mhm. Something ain't right. >> What's the What's the name markings on it? >> I looked them up. It's LAN 1232 LAN 1232. Right here. >> it What did it give you? That's what I think they told me. >> Mhm. >> Look at that crumbling. >> What did it say the name of it was again? >> Uh desoxyn desoxyn >> Well, hopefully you won't be careful the the the vein. >> Careful? Careful is what is supposed to be in there. That's cyclobenzaprine careful. >> Yeah, I never done this anything. He's saying there was one in the one in the one in the one in the other room. I told him he should test the damn powder in the damn mom. >> Lannett 0586. Why are they so It looks like shitty. >> They supposed to break right now, buddy. >> No, they ain't. >> When I was making fake pills with a pill press, that's what they did. >> I thought the same thing. We need to I mean, hell, for all we know he could have been a legit Anyways. Let's put it in the pill in the vein. >> It'd be like it's cuz I was born with 70% deaf in the You know what I mean? >> Bro, >> I talk like this cuz I'm high. >> What color is that? >> Yes, sir. >> Yellow? Well, yellow says it's actually codeine, bro. >> Sir, I promise you to these, I'm begging you, look at the pill imprint, anything. >> I did. I did. I looked it up. But I also put it in here. Yeah, we tested again. >> This is not actually codeine. I promise it's not. Look how many there is. It's not actually codeine. >> You bang with these pills here? You think they real? >> Those are >> Hey, I'm pushing them and they crumble like that. >> Yeah, it's hard. >> Yeah. >> It's real hard. So, he's he's on the way to Florida randomly right now. It's weird, bro. I'm telling you. >> Yeah, those that's yellow. >> Go look at them pills and I'm telling you when I tell you I was I used to make them pills and if you didn't get the press right, they would crumble cuz they weren't tight enough. Look at them pills right here. >> I promise you >> You got another case. Are these the medications that you own? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay, well, that don't mention anything about that medication we you got back there? >> Sir, that's some of them, sir. >> Okay. >> That's just some of them. >> Just casually going through his medical papers. >> Sir, I can have my mom bring the you the other prescription bottle, sir. Do you know what I mean? >> Yeah. Either you got some funky smelling shoes in there or I stink real bad. Oh, it's all right, dude. >> That's what she is supposed to do. It happens sometimes. >> Huh? They not right, 100%. I don't know what they are, but they That's why I went ahead and I'm going to do one of these. These all over here. >> Hm? >> These all over here, something like that. I worked that thing up and down, man. >> Yeah, I mean I was just >> Brian. >> Yes, sir. >> What color would you say that is? >> Sir, that's gold, but there's not roxicodone. Can you please read it? >> No, cuz that one says fentanyl. >> It's definitely not fentanyl. >> Well, how would you say it? Why would it be orange? >> Sir, I don't know, but if you look at the imprint on the pills, does that say >> Yeah, the imprint on the pills don't mean nothing around here, buddy, cuz we have run across a lot that's fake, okay? >> I can show you the same the the pill bottle at home, though. >> But why would it be testing positive for fentanyl? >> Sir, I don't know. I don't get that. Can you Did you retest it? >> Oh, yeah, three times. >> three times, man. >> You just saw it, buddy. >> Could it be old bottle? Could it be cuz it's an old bottle? >> No, absolutely not. >> It's fentanyl in there. >> No. >> Like in the bag? >> Uh-uh, we just tested three different parts of the pills. >> Can't you test it? >> Give me the pill so I can watch. >> That's not fentanyl. You can look. It's That's fentanyl. >> As far as what's on the pills, right? >> Yes, sir. >> People can press pills and put all kind of stuff on them, right? >> Yes, sir. I know they're pressed pills. >> Yeah, okay. So, why do you have even if they are the same you're claiming they're the same type of pill. Why would you carry them in that one bottle when that one bottle is not for just that kind of pill? >> Yes, sir. That's That's the capsule bottle. >> Yes, sir. I just had so many left over. >> The The understand the problem is is the You're saying they've been in that bottle that they're old and that's the reason the powder is the way they are, right? All in the bottle. But you transferred those pills into the capsule I mean bottle. You see what I'm saying? Cuz they have not been in there for an extended period of time. You just told me a little while ago because you're going to Florida you got the old pills and put them in the bottle. >> No, I took the old No, bottle. >> An old bottle. Okay. First off, that bottle ain't that damn old when it went in there. >> No, no. I'm not saying it's like years old. I'm just saying it's >> 8-year-old. It's It's a little over a year old. >> So, it's starting to turn turn turn orange. Some kind of shine. That's blue up top. And the other one was enough for me. >> Yeah, well. >> I mean, and then you got two like that? >> Yeah. Where was the other one at? >> This one I want to take a picture of, too. I know it was orange as can be. If you look at those pills, you could tell I cheated it all made. Something ain't right with them. >> And that says L >> L It's all I got it looked up. Crush one with your fingers and watch how easy it crushes. Just break one with your fingers. See know saying? Pills pills don't be that though. This >> uh is supposed to be these land 1282. Dicyclomine hydrochloride for stomach [ __ ] >> Yeah, well that ain't These is These are fake press. I mean you can tell they're fake press. >> look like [ __ ] Yeah, okay. All right. All right, so all right. >> And they got powder in there too. That's why I'm trying to get the pills out and then that's going to be pee with powder. Yeah, see it's turning now. You can see. >> I can say I haven't been straight up with you since the get-go. >> Brian, you're under arrest. >> Sir, I've never been to jail. Please don't arrest me. >> You're going to jail tonight, okay? >> Can you give me a summons or something, please? >> The judge is going to give you something. >> Sir, I'm shaking. >> Yes, sir. Brian, you're going to jail, okay? >> Sir, it's not drugs. >> Brian, it's testing for drugs. They don't look Listen to me. Listen to me. They don't look like manufactured pills from a pharmaceutical company, okay? I know what fake press pills look like. I've made them myself, okay? They look like you didn't have the dies or somebody didn't have the dies that tighten up cuz they're not pressed right. Brian, would you agree that normal pills No, that's not going to do anything about possession, Brian. You're under arrest and in possession. Not right this second, no, sir. But if you take those pills, Brian, you crush them between your fingers, they just fall apart. >> Sir, I have never been to jail. Please don't send me to jail. >> You're going to jail, Brian. You're under arrest, okay? >> Sir, if it's something I didn't do >> Brian, for something you're in possession of. Okay? Listen, this is not a guilty situation, okay? Right now our evidence says you're in possession, okay? I know. I know. Okay, Brian. Okay, I'm just letting you know ahead of time. >> Will I be able to bail out later tonight? >> Yeah, not tonight. You'll see a judge in the morning. >> Sir, please don't do this to me. >> Brian, you're going to jail, buddy. >> Sir, I'm >> I'm not trying to do anything to you. >> Please, I did not drugs. I will have my mom bring the bottle right there. I'll show you. >> Brian, why are you sweating like that, brother? It's like 65 >> That's why I don't want to go to jail cuz I'm having health issues. I'm having health issues. >> All right, these are clandestine fentanyl pills. >> Stand over here, Brian. >> Oh, I thought I'm sorry, sir. They're not. Sir, I'm going to lie down, sir. I need to go to a hospital. I'm sweating like this. My heart's beating. I have a high >> Okay, well, that's fine. You're still going to jail after the hospital, though. >> I have a high I have a history of a high CPK >> Hospital or to jail? >> I have a history of high CPK count. CPK CPK my line. No, I don't do drugs. No hospital, sir. >> Sir. >> I've never been to jail. I don't want to go to jail. >> Listen, dude. I don't personal. I don't Did I say you're a bad person? >> Nobody out here thinks you're a bad person. Sir, but how do you do nothing? Can you imagine this? >> Yeah, I can. Yeah. >> It's not fentanyl. Did you test a different pills or something? >> Four pounds. >> It's not fentanyl. I don't understand this. Could it be the fentanyl? >> I don't either. Cuz I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. >> He wants to give him the benefit of the doubt, but yeah, he was fishing really hard in the beginning. >> I don't expect it. I'm going to deny it. I would tell you the truth. I'd have a better chance of you not I can't explain IT. I DON'T KNOW. I'M SHOCKED. SUPER SHOCKED. IT'S NOT FENTANYL. Can't give me a summons, please? >> No, buddy. This This is Greenwood. This ain't Florida, buddy. We don't do summons like that. >> Sir. You can't tow my car. It's not my car. It's nothing to do with >> No, your car's going to be towed, okay? >> Sir, I can't afford that. I didn't do nothing. >> Listen to me, Brian. What you're doing right now is working yourself up like cuz nothing you say is going to change what happens for the rest of the night, okay? I'm not being a dick. I'm being honest, okay? All right, take a deep breath. Relax. Calm down. It's 60 something degrees out here. You're sweating like a mule. >> It's not It's not fentanyl. >> It tested positive for drugs. >> I know it's not drugs, though. >> Okay, but did you see that it tested positive for drugs? >> You even agree with me that the You know only pills don't break the way they uh break up. No, I'm saying pills like Listen, I don't know. They Them pills There's There is pills that break. They're soft, I guess. I don't know. >> No, there's >> Ask them. >> Listen. >> You're arresting me just if there's something and for me in jail when I've never been in jail for something I totally didn't do. Think about that. It's >> say you did anything. We said you were in possession of something. >> I'm not though. >> Okay. Dude. Did you see the the tester that I showed you? >> So what >> So you telling me it wasn't orange? >> I didn't see you test it. I didn't see you put it in there. >> Okay, well it's all on record. Camera. >> No, I'm not saying you're lying. I'm I'm saying I don't know >> What you're saying is did you see the tester he >> Yeah. Yes, and it was yellow. Yes, it >> And the other one was orange? >> It was like brown. I don't >> orange. >> Or orangey brown. >> It didn't look orange. >> All right, go stand right there in front of that car right there. Stand right there in front of that car. All right, what are we doing here? >> Uh we're going >> All right. >> I'm ready I'm ready to go whenever you want. If they don't mind one of them don't mind staying by the car. >> Well, one of y'all either stand by for the tow or transport him. >> I'm going to stay >> Okay. All right. >> All right, who's going to stay by >> All right, Brian, come over here, buddy. If you have to go up there, let me know and I'll come up there. Come on over here. Go on back here, bubba. >> I can I can go up there. >> What other side, Brian? Other side or it might be this one. What side is it? Other side, Brian. >> So most of what I'm going through this was in this box and >> All right, look, ain't nothing in there right now. So have a seat. >> I can use call my mom. >> Not in a second, no sir. Have a seat. Yeah, it ain't it ain't made for comfort. He ain't moving. He ain't going to be doing no moving. Yeah, I took I picked up some nice stuff here and then I've been searching the line. Huh? >> You got me taking down in your mind or something? >> I see you. >> I'm on my damn [ __ ] >> Somebody's got to train Somebody's got to train this guy. >> Pills pills don't break up. Pills don't break up like that. >> Yeah, my chance my chance start feeling numb. I might have to >> All right, you want to step right here to this door, okay? >> I'm sorry, what did you say, sir? >> Move step right here to the door. >> Sir, first he said it was coming back as oxycodone and fentanyl. Which one was it coming back as back as? Or does it show as the same thing? >> Um so they tested two different pills that were in there. That would be my assumption. But there was pills in that pill bottle that test positive for the two of them. Okay. So that's all that I can tell you. Other than that. >> Pay lawyer, thank god. But there were so many people in here who did it, who were represented by, you know, public defenders and and and who didn't have that the the luck I had. And I'm grateful for that. But they treated me like I was the biggest piece of trash on earth from the second they pulled up. >> So you said THAT THE GREENVILLE COUNTY SHERIFF'S Office tried to get you to to plead to something after the slide report came back negative. >> So what happened was when once sheriffs make their arrest, it goes to the solicitor's office. And so as Brian mentioned his paid lawyer, Charles Grose, who was on the case, Brian was pushing him, "Hey, get the drug test. Get the drug test. I promise you, it's not fentanyl. >> Call them three times a day. >> Mind you, most lawyers, when they hear the case, they're like, "Hey, they may not even believe their client." They think, "Hey, he's telling me this, but I don't know. He's not from around here. This may be fentanyl. You really want me to get the exam? You really want to get the results?" Charles eventually gets the results, and he calls Brian, "Hey, you know, it's your lucky day. Celebrity toxicology Celebrity toxicology are showing it is the IBS medication. And so, he says, "Let me see what the state wants to do." Brings the information back to Brian, "The state is offering a plea to possession for the time that you served." And Brian's like, you know, "Hell no, I'm not doing that. Like, I'm innocent." Now, most people who don't have a a paid lawyer could say, "Look, I'm not going to do that." The state could pull the offer. We're going to go to trial. And if you get a convicted of trafficking fentanyl, I mean, you have a mandatory minimum. You just don't know what's at stake. Brian, knowing he's innocent, demanded that I'm not going to plead guilty. And then, the prosecution's list of officers eventually dismissed the case. But, not before they got him just a plea guilty stuff because it it it absolves them from this accountability. If you plead guilty to something, Brian could have never came before y'all today and said I was innocent. That was IBS medication. >> And after he kept pushing to get more tests on them pills, turns out that he was telling the truth. And you already know he filed that lawsuit. >> A civil rights lawsuit was just filed against Greenwood County, the sheriff's office, and a number of deputies who were involved in the man's arrest. >> It happened back in 2024. A man was arrested for drug trafficking, but the charges were later dropped. As 7 News Ripley Simone explains, it's the bizarre circumstances surrounding his arrest that led to the lawsuit. >> Brian Getchis was pulled over by a Greenwood County sheriff's deputy for a routine traffic violation, but he ended up in handcuffs when the deputy mistook his prescription medication for fentanyl. On May 15th, 2024, Getchis was pulled over while leaving Greenwood County after visiting his mother. During the traffic stop, the deputies searched his car and found a pill bottle. In this body cam footage shared with 7 News, you can hear an exchange between one of the deputies and Getches. >> Uh what's what's what's the blue pills, buddy? >> That's also that's a company pill. >> Most pills don't look like that, so we're going to test them, okay? Because these look very worn and honestly not real. >> Getches can be heard explaining that the pills are prescribed for his stomach issues. The deputies even searched online for the medication, which comes up as a pill used to treat irritable bowel syndrome. But that wasn't enough for the deputies, who were convinced the pills were fake. They tested them multiple times, and the results came back showing fentanyl. That all led to Getches's arrest, and because of the severity of the charges, he was facing 45 years behind bars. He recounted what a judge told him after he was arrested. >> It was second-degree um trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and possession with intent fentanyl, possession with intent cocaine. You're a flight risk and a danger to the community. I felt like the biggest piece of garbage ever. >> Getches was jailed for 15 days without bond, but he says he lost more than time. He was let go from his job, his reputation tarnished, and he had just reached a year into his sobriety when he was arrested. In between hearings, Brian pushed for more testing to prove the pills weren't illegal, but his attorney, Taylor Bailey, says they waited 16 months for the results because of SLED's 18,000 case backlog. >> It's a civil rights issue because people's freedom is waiting on test. Brian's freedom waited on that test. He was exonerated criminally, but he was tarnished professionally. And something he has to live with. >> Getches says this lawsuit is a push for justice, accountability, and awareness for those who were wrongly arrested. >> At the end of the day, they were just looking to throw somebody in jail. Because from the beginning you having that one deputy so eager to search that he forgot to ask him if he has consent. >> Regular person would be nervous. >> Yeah, but I was like naturally be anxious and >> He said he don't or does? >> This is the type of deputy you never want to give consent to because as soon as he started searching this guy's car he just wants to keep on saying something isn't right. >> Something isn't right. Something doesn't seem right. >> In other words, what can I take this guy to jail for? And then you having this deputy lie to him saying I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but yeah you was just trying to find something to take this guy to jail for. >> Sir, I would have been straight up with you from the get-go. >> Brian, you're under arrest. >> Sir, I've never been to jail. Please don't arrest me. >> Well, you're going to jail tonight. I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. >> You wanted to give HIM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, but in the beginning you want to say something isn't right. But that's my take on the throw. Let me know what y'all think about in the comment section. How you feel about these Greenwood Sheriff Deputies for pulling this guy over and just got straight to fishing. You having that one officer start digging through his car, finding these pills. He's telling these officers what it is. And just like they said, they looked up to see what the pills were. And even though they had proof to see what they were, they just wasn't believing it. You having this officer just saying I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt, but yeah you going through this man's car, going through his engine, just trying to find stuff that kept saying that something isn't right. They already had plans to arrest this guy before they even had him in cuffs. That's my take on the throw. Let me know what y'all think about in the comment section. Make sure to like and subscribe and y'all have a wonderful day.
