would you call this gray or blue
oh great gray
hey guys how are you doing today uh the
video that i have queued up for you
today
is going to be one with an officer
responding to
a report of a hit skip traffic crash
when you're watching the video you'll
there's some things that are going to be
pretty clear that show that the person
making the report
uh probably isn't the biggest supporter
of the police
and that's pretty obvious at least uh
from my perspective
and probably to the officer's
perspective as well
so i thought this was a good interaction
and a
a good example to show the public of how
officers react to
a person who's making a report when
it doesn't appear that that person
supports the police um enjoy the video
and i will talk to you soon columbus
police tech80
hi yes i need to make a police report
someone just uh hit me and ran
where did this occur
where did this occur
at high street
in maine
main street in columbus
columbus ohio yes all right we'll call
our vehicle hit
you um it was a white jeep
uh cherokee with 30 day tags
which way did it go i
tried to follow it but the woman told me
to stop so uh following me he got off
exit 98b and then he headed towards
high street where are you at i'm headed
back towards home
downtown we have to have officers come
and take a report
say what now we have to have officers
come to you to take a report
okay how long ago did this happen
it literally happened within the past
five minutes
so the past seven minutes or so
what is your name
phone number 614. do you need a medic
no i don't what freeway did you get on
i got on 71. 270 i believe
i'm sorry 70 i believe
i get mixed up 270 or 70.
it would be 70. okay what is your home
address
south 5th street columbus ohio
43215. how long is it going to take you
to get there
probably about next 10 minutes
and did you get a license plate number
i didn't i could have to look on my dash
cam
all right thank you
[Music]
please
oh the car registered to you sir
my roommate your roommate
is here now you have a copy of it
it's probably in the glove box or just
please
okay
would you call this gray or blue gray
five minutes ago male black
black jack of blue jeans assaulted a
homeless man
uh took some of his belongings out of
his book
okay do you have his phone number by
chance and his name is
okay were you driving or was he okay you
got your id on you bud
were you the only one in the car yeah
okay
and this address is current okay drew
blair do you have a phone number
okay
you want to give me a run down on what
happened is that main and high
uh yeah okay
and then i was coming up i got into that
far right lane
this way coming up this way yeah coming
east okay
so you're on main in the far right lane
heading eastbound
and then as soon as i get past him
i notice he's starting to come over here
i'm
okay so he was going he was in the lane
actually going the same direction the
car at this there was stop light
it was a car then it was him so i come
from behind i'm still coming from up uh
the front street
so i come from behind him onto the uh on
the right side of him
i get like i said i get it seems like
cause he
he must have started at my back because
i've seen him come in like
this dude so i'm honking my horn just
trying to get him to stop so i can't
even see him he just coming on
okay was there a car in front of both of
you guys yeah it was conflict
i thought okay at the light yeah and
then when the the was the light red when
you first
did it when it turned green he started
to merge or was it still red when he
merged
i think it was still red so he just
merged over while you were parked and
just basically scraped the crap out of
your car
come in thank you sir if i was coming
past him yeah he just
i can't even see me okay all right
coming over i'm broken
i just need i didn't even stop see and
that's geico
four four seven nine until like i'm
still hooking my horn after he then
got his stuff all through me and then
i'm like honking stopped and like trying
to get him stopped and then he finally
crossed the street and stop and try and
like can't even get out
just rolling this window down i'm like
going to the side you know like uh
yeah we got to call the police he was
like well i got to go get my girl she's
right the way you can call me i'm like
we got to see at the scene you know what
i'm saying
call the police he's like next thing no
i hear him trying to take off but he
wasn't in gear yet you feel me so i get
back in my car
and start following me okay call the
police but she said stop
yeah we we get a lot of people right now
because there's so many shootings that
have been going on you
you can't trust anybody so it's like
right now our best thing is we're
telling people
don't follow because we got a possible
highway shooter going on right now we
don't know who you're going to be and
that's position i just wanted to make
sure my dash cam had got
his back oh you have a dash cam yeah so
i got to go i got to finish my laptop
okay what tag do did you get it at all
30-day temp tag okay it was a white jeep
cherokee
older or a young girl white jeep
cherokee
maybe a 2017 man what did he was there
only one person in the car yeah black
dude
how old well braids or whatever younger
older
20s 30s 20s 20s could be 30s
dark complected medium complected like
dark
how long were his dreads they're pretty
yeah he had it up so
it was pretty much braden he ended up
thinking like uh oh
okay so they're good length okay that's
a good amount of length so you said dark
complected
yeah dark skinned and 20s 20s 30s
late 20s 30s or something okay
what i'm going to do how long does it
take you to upload that stuff
i tried it before and it seemed like i
had to took me through a process so it
wouldn't take me long
okay if i sit out here and type up the
report can you go in and try to do that
and see if you get the tag
that way i can get it and add it to the
report right away oh hey here's your id
back bud
see i'll sit right here and knock this
out so
11 minutes later
let me see if you don't mind me looking
at your phone okay
yeah that's kind of that's real blurry
um is there any do you have any
enhancements on your
app or anything on the computer that you
can do it i will have to try to get it
on there
right now my computer want to update at
this time yeah okay that's not a big
deal um
after i'm done actually i can do it
right now and i can finish this
i'll give you a report number with my
name and my badge number on it
and then if you do end up getting more
all you gotta do is call me and i'll
come back and i'll get that information
and add it into the report later
[Music]
