hi everyone donut here and we're gonna talk about something serious today and that is the shooting that took place in Sutherland Springs Texas yesterday on November the 5th the reason that I'm making this video is because information about the shooting is kind of all over the place right now so I'm gonna take everything that I can find right now and put it into this one video so everyone knows what's going on a total of 26 people were killed and 20 people were injured during the shooting the ages of the victims ranged from 18 months old to 77 years old approximately 4% of the town's population was killed during the shooting this is the fifth deadliest mass shooting in recent US history there were 27 victims in the Sandy Hook shooting thirty-two at Virginia Tech 49 at the Orlando nightclub massacre and 58 at Las Vegas the shooter was 26 year old Devon Patrick Kelly from New Braunfels Texas he was dishonorably discharged from the Air Force after serving from 2010 to 2014 in 2012 he was court-martialed and served a year in military prison after assaulting his wife and child Kelly used an AR style rifle specifically a Ruger AR 556 Kelly purchased the rifle in 2016 from an Academy sport store in Colorado after lying on his background check he stated that he did not have a criminal history but he was convicted of domestic violence which means he could not own any kind of firearm report state that the Air Force failed to put Kelly in the national database that does background checks for firearm sales in addition to the rifle that Kelly used during the shooting he also had two handguns on him it has not been reported that he used the handguns during the shooting but they were found inside the truck after his failed attempt to get away several sources are stating that the shootings started off with a domestic disturbance between Kelly and his mother-in-law he had been sending his mother-in-law who attended the church several threatening text messages leading up to the shooting most of these sermons from the church were actually recorded and posted to the church's YouTube channel this means they video of the entire massacre possibly exists if this is true that means that investigators will have to watch the entire video I think we often forget about the things that law enforcement has to do behind the scenes sometimes I definitely wouldn't want to be the person that has to watch this video there were two heroes who helped stop the attack as soon as Stephen Wilford a plumber from Sutherland Springs heard the gunfire across the street the church he grabbed his own rifle and hurried to the scene while barefoot reports state that when Kelly exited the church Wilfred engaged him in a gun fight Wilfred while under fire from Kelly barefoot and not wearing protection accurately returned fire striking Kelly at least once Kelly dropped his rifle then jumped into his vehicle and attempted to flee Stephen Wilfred continued to fire on Kelly as he was driving away this is when hero number two mr. Jonny Lang and Dorff pulled up in his truck Wilfred ran up to Johnny said hey this guy was just shooting at shot a bunch of people in the church and we have to go get him I imagine Johnny said something like hell yeah Wilfred jumped into his truck and they pursued Kelly reaching speeds of up to 95 miles per hour Kelly eventually lost control his truck about ten miles from the church and wrecked into a field some reports are stating that at this point Kelly took his own life as of right now it has not been officially released what the exact cause of death was of Kelly and that is about everything that I can find right now about the shooting if I missed something please leave it in the comments below everyone this is donut please send your thoughts and prayers to the people of Sutherland Springs Texas and try and have a fantastic day [Music]
