Bro, she's pregnant. Get off her. She's kicking her stomach and everything. I said, "Bro, get off her." I might have talked to her hair. Then she put a camera in my face and I took it from her and put it in the cart. >> Ma'am, stop taking items out of the bag. >> Kind of a dumb move, right? >> Some grandmothers believe that being older is a shield that protects them from consequences. But what happens when that belief collapses and they understand that they're actually going to jail? >> I didn't do anything wrong. >> What do you mean you didn't do anything wrong? >> I didn't do anything. >> just threw nasty water on him. >> No, he did that to himself. >> Oh, okay. So, how are we changing the story? >> Ma'am, put your hands behind your back. >> Why? Cuz you're being detained for shoplifting. That's why. >> No, I'm not. >> Yes, you are. >> No, I'm not. What did I do wrong? Drink in front of the house? In my own house? >> Here are unbelievable times when dumb grandmas realize that they are going to jail. Meet Sheila Roussell, a heartless woman whose actions towards her daughters crossed very severe lines. >> Yes, she end up slapping me. You see these scars? I got scars on my face, everything like that. I turned around like >> So, that's when the mother your mother slapped you? >> Yes, it's like ended up being scars on me. She bangs me against the dag on glass thing. You need to come running and crying. >> On July 26th, 2024, officers were dispatched to a residence following reports of a family conflict between a mother and her grown children. The moment the cops arrived, they demanded answers and one of Sheila's daughters, Unique, gave them every detail, raw and unfiltered. And in that instant, Sheila's fate began to shift. >> Stockbridge police. >> Come in. >> Open the door. >> Where were you at? >> I was upstairs. >> You're running upstairs? >> My mom was running up the stairs. >> Huh? >> Tell her to come down. >> She's trying to get him to come down and sit right here. >> You need EMS? >> This is what happened. She said I'm going to jail. >> You need EMS? >> No. >> I'm fine. >> Yo, come downstairs. >> to make him hide with that Nike bag. >> What's what's your foot on the boy? >> He called on us. He beat my sister up. It's on camera. He threw my head in the wall. I'm in a wheelchair. He threw the leg at her. >> All right, give me a second. I'm going to try to talk to >> She like did this right to my face. I'm pregnant, bro. >> I got you. >> I'm going to send you back to jail. I can't stand this. >> Let me chop it up over there by individuals, all right? >> That's right. You're doing the right thing. >> How old are you? 19. What's your turn 19 in March? Who else is in here? >> My mother. >> She's in everything, too? >> She was in everything. She started everything. >> All right, so one of y'all have to step away from Sammy for a second so we can chop it up. I got you. Let me talk to her in a minute. All right, so what happened? Do you need EMS or anything like that? Was you involved? >> No, I'm good. So, it started yesterday? >> It all started >> What you fought with? What you fought with? What you fought with? >> Yesterday it all started yesterday cuz my sister was simply asking like can you say thank you? Cuz I'm not talking to my brother right now cuz he's disrespectful. He keeps disrespecting me. And I'll be telling my mom about that and she don't be >> Let's talk over here cuz I don't want nobody else to hear that. >> So, he'd be disrespecting me. This is not the first time like one incident he put a knife on me before and I told my mom >> I need to know what happened there. What happened there? >> Okay, today. Honestly, my mom came downstairs like she was cooking breakfast and everything. And my sister was on the phone with my other sister and my mom butted in >> Your sister right here? >> Yes. butted in the conversation calling her stupid. You don't know what you're talking about like being all disrespectful and stuff like that. And my other sister was on the phone. She was on the speaker saying "What she talking to?" and stuff like that. Then she started disrespecting my other sister saying "You don't have no pot to piss in." Like being disrespectful for no reason. >> Another sister? >> Yeah, she was being dis >> What other sister? >> She's in Boston. She was on the like she was >> Oh, she was on the phone talking talking to the mother. >> Yeah, she she was on the phone. So, my mom was just being mad disrespectful for no reason. Nobody's even talking to you. Like, why are you being disrespectful for? You feel me? So, after that, she was talking like she brought up our grandma and something. So, my sister called my grandma asking to confirm the thing and the thing wasn't true. So, my mom got mad. So, why did you call her She said, "Why are you mad for? You said it was true. Now, you mad about that." So, we all were just chilling and stuff and then she just start talking "I hate all of y'all. Y'all real disrespectful." dumb hoes dumb hoes all of y'all like calling us out our names and stuff like that. And after that, I told her I said, "You're disrespectful." Like, "How the hell we supposed to be your kids and you disrespecting us like that and you expect us to want respect from you when you disrespecting us like that? We didn't even call you no type of names or stuff like that." So, I was telling her that then I was like, she brought up my sister's situation like she's in domestic violence. That's why you let your get beat by that All that stuff. I said, "You're the same >> talking to this sister right here, right? >> Yeah, that sister right there. I said I said, "You're the same one. You got your You got beat up, too. Like, how you was a victim and you over here saying stuff like that to somebody else like that?" I said I said, "You're dead wrong for that." And I told her that and I was like, I walked off. Then she end up slapping me. She got scars I got scars on my face everything like that. I turned around like I said "That's when the mother your mother slapped you." Yes, it's like end up getting scars on me and everything. So, all that stuff that stuff happened. That's when everything just start a blow up. And my brother came downstairs and everything and he started talking crazy to my sister talking about you stupid like trying to go up in her face and everything. And I said I said, "Yo, back up. You see her? She on the goddamn couch. Why are you trying to get up in her face?" So, I told her I said, "You need to watch yourself. I don't care if you a or not. Don't do that. That's cool." So, after that, he got up trying to go up in her and I said >> So, after after she after she slapped you and stuff like that >> Everything everything just went left. >> After she slapped you, he came downstairs? >> Yeah, he came downstairs talking about my mom I said to go. Just go. Just leave the house. Tell him to leave the house cuz honestly all this stuff started cuz of him of his disrespect and she don't know how to correct it. That's the thing. I said >> Well, well, this started because she she intervened in the phone conversation. >> No, but it's like I'm talking like it really all happened yesterday. Everything leading up to now all started from here. >> That's why yesterday doesn't matter because today today all leading up because based on your testimony because she she intervened in the conversation. >> Yeah, conversation yesterday. >> All right. But as she spoke further, more alarming revelations came to light leaving one wondering how a mother could commit such a painful act against her own child. >> Basically, he comes downstairs and then what happened? >> And stuff like he's trying to over here talk crazy and stuff like that on the couch and everything. My >> So, after she smacked you and what So, she just smacked you? >> Yeah, she smacked me and everything. I told her I said, "Why did I close it? Why did I do that? Like I didn't even hit you. Nothing like that at all." And stuff like that. She over here on the couch talking Just talking Just running her Just talking My brother came downstairs and everything. Then he started talking crazy and stuff. My mom said, "You just go leave. Like go." He was trying to leave out the back door. Then he came back in. Started talking more crazy for no reason. Like nobody's even talking to you. Like just be quiet. So, after that all that happened, he started talking more crazy. So, my sister on the couch said, "Bro, back up." I told him to back up and everything. And then after that he went on the stairs. Then he came downstairs started running talking more crazy. Started talking crazy. He threw the leg chair at my head. Then after that I >> He threw a leg chair at you? >> Yes, the little wheelchair leg chair at my head. Then after that I I'm sorry. I hit him back. I thought that's self-defense. I hit him back and we all got to fighting. We all got to fighting. I hit him upside the head with a blender. Then cuz like why would you do that? Then we just got to tussling. >> All right. So, he threw a leg chair at you and that's when you started >> Yeah, like defending myself pretty much. Then after everything just got left Everything just went crazy. And my mom started attacking my sister. You see she got bruises. They was in the back. I went to the bathroom a little bit to calm down. >> So, so after he threw the leg chair at you, you started attacking him. >> Yeah, we all got to fighting. >> Yeah, you hit him with a blender. Why are you hitting on a pregnant woman? >> All right. So now your your mother is in the process pulling your hair. >> Yes, ma'am. I'm Octavia. >> Hitting you. In the process your brother started attacking your sister cuz she was trying to break it up. >> No, she was right there like she's right there and she >> So she wasn't even involved at this point. >> Uh-uh, he just started hitting on her like he was talking He said you could get it too and then he's like she was like he started talking about where my hurt is. End up getting him back too. It's like yo, like she's pregnant. Why are you doing all that for? Like you're mad because somebody's trying to correct your behavior. Nobody's trying to play with you like that. Like you're disrespectful. >> So when he started doing that, that's when you said you started going after him a little more. >> Yes. Yes, sir. >> But it was already between y'all two at that time. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was. >> You just started going a little harder now. Now you got a little bit more motivation. All right. >> Yeah, after that like all that stuff like >> But what does your sister do when he's going He started attacking your sister? >> Oh, my sister she end up fighting him back. >> So now you and your sister is at him. >> Yes. >> What's your sister's name? >> Octavia. >> All right. And then what happened from there? Now you and Octavia is is going at it with your brother. >> And my mom in the middle trying to Really she's she's not really calming the situation. She's talking about she's breaking up but she's really not breaking up cuz how you breaking it up but you really attacking us? You throwing blows. So that's not how you break up stuff. You know what I'm saying? So after that everything calmed down for a little bit like everybody still could be I went to the bathroom. She called the cops. >> Yes. >> Your mother called the cops first. >> The cops proceeded to speak to the pregnant daughter, Octavia. And her account confirms Unique's statement, while also revealing even more horrifying aspects of Sheila's behavior. >> I'm actually having I'm going to have you write a statement form on this and all that. >> Okay. >> And you sure you don't want EMS? >> I don't think I need them. >> We'll just take a look on you then. And I'm like, why she call me from this weird number? I called her back. And she started talking to me. My mom talked in it. It got heated and she got out of the car. >> Anyway, she had all the cops out here. >> Ma'am, listen. >> Oh, sorry. She was like, "See, I told you, mama's not fit to be a mom." She's like, "Why you calling my sister?" >> Are you Tiffany Evans? Are you Tiffany Evans or are you Tiffany Evans? >> I said, "You don't pay my phone bill." I said, "This is my house." So, I'm like, "Let him go." I said, "No, you tell him to let her go." I said, because I >> Octavia's words proved to be more incriminating than her sister's, and she had video evidence to support it, which just meant that Sheila could not escape even if she tried. >> I don't know what he's going to do if I let him go. I said, "Let her go. Her her hair is all messed up. She's crying." I'm like, "Mom." I'm screaming like, "Mom." I said, "Look at you. Look what you caused." She said, "No, you caused it. She tried to grab me from going >> trying to grab you from going up there. >> Mhm. She She really grabbed me. >> She All right. So, what happened when she grabbed you? What happened? >> I had to hop over there to the dining room table to sit down. The chair was right there cuz I'm like I said my kid is right there. I said, "You know like I'm not doing this in front of her." So, y'all are embarrassing. >> So, so what happened from there? >> She grabbed me up against the thing. I got out the chair. I was going to the chair. She have pushed me. And when she pushed me, my head hit that glass. >> While you was going to the chair. >> Yeah, the chair is right by the the glass thing. She literally pushed me towards the glass. Unique said, "Why the hell you being so violent? You're pregnant." So, you did this last time. I said, "You sure enough did." I said, "I got you." I said, "I can't believe you're even doing this." She starts getting on top of me punching, punching, punching. She said, "You punched me." I said, "Nobody touched you." The same way you saying Unique just slapped you. You pulled her wig off because her hair touched your your arm. I said, "You're doing stuff to people." She said, "I don't care. The police don't believe me." I was like, "I got it recorded." I said I said, "That's fine." I said, "If they can't bypass the tactics that you recorded I said, "I've been there, done that." I said, "That's not a good tactic to use." I said, "Sure, I I I recorded you." I said, "But you recorded me cussing you out." And that's fine. I said, "You know I don't respect you, so that's fine." I said, "You done lost respect." So when you've been being nasty since yesterday, I said, "I'm going to keep being nasty." I said, "You just sat here and let them two get into it this bad to where this girl had to grab a knife." I said, "He has a knife upstairs. She got a knife downstairs. She's crying." So I'm going to defend myself cuz he's going to I said, "This is your problem." She's telling you straight up that she feel like he's going to her. And you want to call the police when she goes up to try to grab you off of me. She yeah, she said, "You out of jail." He said, "He's not going to go to jail. I'll make sure." I said, "No, he needs to go to jail." >> So when she when she pushed you, she pushed you into the glass? >> I'm trying to hop to the chair. Basically, the chairs are here, the glass is right here. I'm literally trying to hop down the step toward the glass toward the chair. She grabbed me and pushed me toward the glass. >> then >> I had fell. And when she fell, I she had fell cuz all that stuff is on that floor from them two fighting. Her Unique >> All right, so when you fell >> My my mom and I both fell. She's on me trying to grab me. I'm like, "That's all unnecessary." I said, "I'm She said, "Am I going to call the police?" I'm not calling the police. I said, "You want to call the police, you do that." I said, "What I'm going to do is leave out of here cuz I'm done with you." She said, "I want you gone by Monday anyway. I'm going to tell DSS you're a bad mom." I'm telling Henry County >> So after she was punching you, what stopped her from doing it? Like after y'all >> Danielle cuz he started screaming from upstairs. I'm on the police. I'm a I'm calling the police. I'm calling the police. I He called the police. I think she said he called. She said, "I didn't call, he did." But then she went downstairs in the couch. Unique had put me up put me on the couch. She said, "My mom on the phone with the police, too." >> backwards on the >> I'm like, "He's been saying this for for Unique since day one." I'm like, "Ma, he's like, "You're trying to ruin his life. Y'all jealous of him." I told her, "I have no reason to be jealous of a 19-year-old." >> While she pushed you, you fell, she fell. >> Unique was breaking it up. >> Yeah, Unique was trying to break it up. She started punching you. Unique still trying to break it up. But then Danielle yelled from upstairs. >> Yeah, she up she hopped up cuz Unique at that point she got mad and she said, "Danielle." She like she said, "You ain't going to do nothing. You ain't going to She said, "Unique, just leave him alone. Why you keep bothering him? >> Does he have any mental issues diagnosed or anything? Was he Was he diagnosed? >> They questioned her son, Donnell, next, but his story came across as incomplete, as though certain details are being carefully withheld from cops. Details that might change everything for both him and his mother. >> So, what happened, my man? >> It would happen all day in the morning, right? I can't actually I woke up to them yelling at each other. I'm like, "Why are you guys always yelling at each other?" It would be because of something that happened yesterday, cuz she would mad at her. I would say, "Thank you for food she bought, but >> So, what happened today? >> Today? Well, I came downstairs. She saw us talking. I just dropped off my helmet and my cleats outside. I was about to go get a workout in. I was just waiting for my sub charge. I came back down. And she saw us saying "F you" to my mom. I'm like, "Who you saying "F you" for? We ain't do "F you" for my mom taking care of you." And then she said, "You're disrespectful." >> Who said this to you? >> The pregnant one I told you, Rochelle. And I'm like, "So, we going to do this? Say this to me for no reason. I'm the chill one. I'm the one who don't ever talk in the house." >> All right. >> They just say that, right? Now, I said, "F you." And then she said, and then my other sister, Unique, Rochelle, grab the pot or blender and then try to rush at me with that. She cut me right here with it. After that, we got into a little scuffle over there. I didn't even put my hands on her. I just pushed them off me cuz they kept on punching me. And then after that, I'm like, >> So, then this this is in the midst of the argument while the other sister was saying "F you, F your mother." So, Unique came out of nowhere and >> She had grabbed something. I'm like, "I'm like, why are you grabbing Like, we can have an end to the word "F you." She grabbed something, right? After we broke up over there, right? She grabbed a knife from the We don't have a knife for what? I'm like, "I'm just going to go upstairs. I have no time for I'm trying to go to my Who can I leave in New Canaan in two days for Marines?" >> All right. >> I got no time for that. After that, we had a whole argument. I'm like, "Mom, and I told my mom, "Mom, you should never invite them back in here, cuz this is like the second and third time they do this. They do this like almost every year over some weird Cuz she left the first time, then the second time. >> All right, so we're at the point where Unique grabbed the a you went upstairs. >> Yeah. >> What happened from there? >> After that, well, the pregnant one tried to come upstairs. I'm like, "Who coming upstairs for? You pregnant. You supposed to not even be walking." I'm a CNA. I'm a certified nurse assistant. Like, I was right there. While I heard my mom say, "What's wrong with her?" I'm like, "You don't even supposed to be stressing her out like that." >> All right. So, she tried to come upstairs and then what happened? >> My mom pulled her back. She said like, "No, you're not going to do that." Then I told my mom, "All right, the police and they can't even tell me when they on the way. So, I'll write your whole statement." Cuz my mom told me not to tell them about the knife. I'm not going to do that. Cuz like, at this point in time, that's just risk to my mom while I'm gone. >> All right. So, your mother pulls Octavia back. You're upstairs, right? >> After that, well, I just went in my room and cooled out. Cuz I locked the door, too. Cuz I have a lock on the door. I locked it. I'm like, "I'm not going to go do this. Today, I leave in 2 days. I'm going to go in as a E-2, a Lance Corporal. I'm not going to go go do this with these people." >> All right. Then what happened after that? You were in your room cooling down? >> We went in till you guys arrived. You guys arrived and I just wrote a statement. I'm not even done finishing writing my statement yet. >> All right. That's cool. Anything else you want to add? >> No. >> No. >> Just that they got to go. >> Now it was time to speak to Sheila. And based on her daughter's testimony, she was already in serious trouble. But if she could craft a strong enough explanation that would position her as the victim, she might just walk away unscathed. >> Well, basically, like I said, started last night over some food. Um went to Animal Kingdom. >> this today? >> Today, okay. Well, this is where all escalated from last night to this morning. So, when I came downstairs, okay, let me tell you this. When I came down this morning, I was stressed out from work. So, I came down making breakfast. I could hear on the phone with my oldest daughter. And she's talking about me. I'm right in the room. I'm like, "Why are you talking about Nobody here." Oh, this, that. I said, "So, why you got to be all these" I said, "First of all, I'm your mother and I'm her mother." "Oh, you're no good and this mess." I left it alone. I'm making the bacon. Then next thing you know, he came down with his helmet. He went out the back door. Then he came back in. They had words with him. And I'm not exactly what what's being said, but they was saying going back and forth about the past. >> So, he went out. He went out. >> door. He went out the back door. Then came back in. Unique and him had some words. And I'm not sure why they was having words, but I mean when we was in Boston, everything seemed cool till we get back in. Now it's a big old thing, but anyway, they having some words. Next thing I know, they over here arguing, going back and forth. She gets off the couch. I didn't know she could walk because this leg supposed to be She hops over there. They going back and forth. And I see those two like up against each other. I get in the middle. >> Who was up against each other? >> Those two. And I get in the middle to diffuse it. >> Unique and Darnell >> Thank god no. So I get in the middle. She comes out of nowhere hopping in there. And they going back and forth and everything. Next thing I know, they all on the floor. We all on the floor cuz I'm in the middle. We I got I was brought down on the floor. I I didn't know Darnell called the cops. He's upstairs. He called the cops. Next thing I know, she >> Hold up cuz I need more clarification on that so Unique and Darnell was face to face. >> Wait, they was arguing back and forth. Back and forth. I got in the middle. I got in the middle to diffuse. >> So Darnell was still standing >> Yeah. And she hopped over to over to the sitting area. >> How did everybody get on the floor though? >> Well, that's what I'm saying. I don't know No, this video just showed what was going on right here. The arguing. And I they they all went down. Tavia goes on the floor first cuz she's on the side and we all fall on top each other. And then I'm like, what's going on? Why? And I'm just I'm pushing her out the way cuz she's trying to hit him, but she missed. And I'm like, y'all why y'all fighting him? And so that's all that then everybody got up. Then she sat down talking about she was going to call my job. >> What caused everybody to fall? Cuz I >> That's what I'm saying. That we all was tight in this area over there. And I'm in the middle and they, you know, trying to and then we all just fell down on the floor right over there. And everybody gets up. And next thing I know, they still screaming and going on. He goes upstairs. She's still going on, being mouthy, talking about she's going to call my job. And I said, "What you going to call my my for?" You know, this I I have a a license to protect Tavia. >> All right. >> But, tell them she going to call my job. She did call somewhere, but it wasn't my job. She did call the company stuff, but it wasn't the the McDonald's one. And she asked if Shilo She works there. And I guess they told her no, and then she hung up. And then she was saying, "Oh, that how God knows not going to make it to the Marines cuz he leaves Monday. He's not going to make it to the Marines." And I'm like, "Why would y'all prevent him from going to the Marines?" I said, "This could have all been diffused last night." Cuz it wasn't that serious. >> All right. >> Okay. And then it bought to this for what? It really escalated because she's on the phone with one of my oldest daughter calling me out my name. I'm like, "You in my house, though. Why would you disrespect me like that?" I said, "I'm not nobody's and all this other stuff. I said, "That's not cool." I said, "I'm your mother and I'm her mother." I said, "But, why would you call her?" Oh, she called me. I said, "But, nobody came when I came downstairs. I was making breakfast. I made coffee." And all this B words were flying. >> At this point, it's just you and Octavia going back and forth. >> No, it's on the it's on this video where we talking and she's calling me out my name and stuff like that, but it never escalated from there. I made the the breakfast and the coffee. Then he came downstairs. >> He went upstairs. >> Yes, he went upstairs. >> So, you Octavia and Unique is down here. >> Right. You and Octavia is going back and forth. No, we No, she's she's telling my job. Yeah. I said, "But, why would you call my Okay." I said, "So, why would you call my job and try to make me lose my job?" I cuz I said, "I didn't do nothing to you. I said, I gave you a place to stay when you came when you got hurt. I brought you into my house. I volunteered to take care of you." Oh, but you know good mother You know, she was going on, you know, ranting like that. That's all. And next thing you know, the cops showed up. So, I didn't press the button. I didn't tell them >> So, you called them. >> I called them after she kept on ranting cuz I wanted her to be quiet. Cuz it was not cool for you calling me out my name because I felt like I didn't have to take you in my house and take care of you, you know? I'm doing something motherly. >> There was still more Sheila intended to tell the cops, and she believed it could shift everything in her favor. That's if the officers find it convincing enough [music] to reconsider what they already know. >> Yes, the other baby grandmother told her to come and get the baby and I guess she called the baby father told her to come and get her so she could go back out to Fulton cuz she she lives out in Fulton County. >> What was this about knives? Cuz you called, correct? >> Yeah, but she she picked it up but she didn't go after she put it back down. Who picked it up? You mean she picked up one but she put it back down. She didn't go after him. She put it back in the dish. I think she just mad. She just picked it up and I said, "You better put that down." She put it back down. That was it. >> All right. So when Darnell went upstairs the second time what what what happened with him? >> Well, when he went upstairs the second time they was calling him all kind of this and that. You You ain't going to the Marines. All kind of stuff. You ain't going to make it to the Marines. And then the next thing I know y'all was at the door. >> All right. So he didn't he didn't have an exchange or he didn't say anything or anything like that? >> No, no. He went upstairs. He went up to his room. He He might have said, "I'm tired of this." or something cuz he wasn't speaking to them since Teddy been here. He's been wearing his headsets. He haven't been speaking to neither one of them. >> And does this video show anything different? >> No, no. It just showed just going back and forth. That's all. >> Before making a decision the cops worked through what they had just heard. And when they finally decided nothing about it was accidental. >> They fell down. They fell down, got back up. It's minimum altercation physical altercation. >> How the hell did she get them injuries on her face? And how did she get these welts and stuff on her face? >> He stated that she charged him with a a blender. She admitted to that. She said that he threw a chair at me so we started fighting. And in the midst of us fighting he was on top of me and I grabbed the blender and hit him with the blender. >> All right. That's how you got the scratch. >> It's matching. You saying she just charged you with she charged you with a blender and you walked off. >> All right. So now how do they have these injuries? You never stated that the mother or anybody fought. >> I'm taking them. >> Give me one second while you go. This is why I'm talking to her. Stand up. Turn around. Put your hands behind you. Yep. >> Darnell. >> Go ahead. >> I just sit down. >> Before we get with his recruiter crew recruiter. >> He's a Marine crew recruiter that he's supposed to go to court on Monday. The boy? >> I'm trying to work. Try to help him? >> He going to go to court on Wednesday and three of those are boxing. >> I don't know, bro. >> I'm being arrested. Wow. >> Well, that's fine. I can't believe why we're being arrested. >> I was going to say >> You know because he's sitting there lying. He said he's going to tell a lie. >> You guys are lying. >> Pat down with the back of my hands to make sure you guys don't have nothing. Do you have any weapons anything? No. >> Come on. Get my water. Give me your water. I'm panicking over here. >> Okay, I'm good. >> I got you. I can't. >> No, no, no. >> No, no, no, no, no. >> Okay, I know you can't. >> I can't give you no, no, no. >> He's having a panic attack. Okay, can you >> Okay, here's your water. >> Relax. >> I got to go to the bathroom. >> Okay, relax. Just >> I was going to go to the bathroom. >> In the end, Sheila Rochelle was charged with cruelty in the third degree and battery. If you thought that you'd seen the most impulsive of grandmothers getting arrested, then you should meet Lindy, a woman who drove under the influence but believes that being older made it less obvious. >> But I'm not even driving. So, why am I in trouble? >> You drove here, right? >> No. >> I started drinking right here in front of the freaking house. I just followed that. >> On December the 10th, 2025, the Rio Rancho Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance at a private residence. When the cops got to the residence, they spoke to Lindy's husband. His countenance alone had already told a single word left his mouth. >> Thank you. >> Okay. Uh what happened in court today? >> Well, I read the paperwork. >> Yeah. >> I read the paperwork and you know there's no no physical violence or nothing. So, there was nothing for me to put down. It was blank. Everything was blank. So, I was like, "What are they going to do?" I mean, I'm going crazy. >> Got you. So, you want me to take it off? >> Yeah, I'm going to go tomorrow, I guess. >> Yeah. Okay, so what happened now? >> [laughter] >> I think she's drinking. She came and dropped off some stuff, left, called her son again, told her, "Hey, I don't know what's going to happen." The officers told me to call again if she comes, and she started pounding on the doors, almost breaking the window, went to the back, pounded on the back door. Came through the doggy door. I told her I was calling you guys, and >> Okay. Uh, she came through the doggy door? >> Yeah. >> When she got in, was there anything physical, anything >> No, I just stood over there. Once she got in, I went to the back room. >> What was your name again? >> Lindy. >> Lindy? >> Yes. >> The cops met with Lindy, and the simplest path forward was clear. Tell the truth and save everyone's time. But, if she chose otherwise, she risked sinking her own case. >> Lindy. Uh, can you step out and leave the dog in the room? Is the dog going to be in Can we leave the dog in the room? >> Sure. Come on. They haven't seen me in a minute, so. Hello. >> Hello. Come on. >> Come on. Okay, go. Go, go, go. Go, go. You be a good girl. No, no, no, no. Mommy's going to stay here. Hi, guys. >> Hello. >> Oh, let's close this all the way. There we go. There you go. >> Okay. Um, do you You to go talk outside real quick? We can just talk about what's going on. >> Sure. >> Is it Lither or Lindy? >> Miss Lindy. >> Lindy, come on. >> But why do we have to talk outside? >> I We just want to We want to separate the two of you. Can we not let this one out though, please? >> Right. >> Let's talk outside real quick, Lindy, okay? >> Really? Oh my goodness. Hi. Can you tell me what's going on today? >> Nothing. >> Um >> Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. >> What brings us here today, Lindy? >> I have no idea. >> Okay. Did you drive her, Lindy? >> Yeah. >> Is that your truck right there, the What is that a Ram? >> It's a Ram, yes, of course. >> Um Ouch. >> Guys, I have >> So, the reason we're here, it sounds like you and your your ex-husband or current husband? >> Oh, we're still married. >> Okay, so you're still married. What's going on with that then? Have you guys even have some issues? >> Well, yesterday you guys were here and said I couldn't move home till today. >> I wasn't there, miss, so I don't know what's going on. Sorry. Um I kind of have an idea. But nothing's going on today though? You just came home? >> Yeah. >> There's no argument, nothing crazy? >> Nope. >> Okay. >> She moved out a year ago, but they're married still and she wants to move back in. >> Okay. Um you didn't break anything to get in, nothing like that? >> No. >> You just came in? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You and what's his name? What's your husband's name? >> Nate. >> You guys didn't fight at all today, nothing like that? >> No. >> Just came home, wanted to come? >> Nope. I just I I told you yesterday, remember? >> Yeah, he wasn't here though. >> Oh, yeah. I'm sorry that I'm coming home today. Can I have my sock back on? >> Okay. No, no, you're fine. >> Because remember I have a bunch of stickers. Yeah, nothing. Nothing's happening, nothing. Yeah. If you could help me. >> Thank you. >> So, I'm going to be honest, the reason I'm here, so I have a couple of questions for you, okay? How much alcohol have you guys drank tonight? >> None. >> Tell me the truth, please. >> None. >> Okay. So, if I gave you a breathalyzer for alcohol right now, is it >> Please do. >> Zero is right now? >> Zero. >> No alcohol while you were inside? >> Nope. >> All right. Can I check your eyes? >> Uh >> Let's go right Let's Let's use this beautiful light right here. You've had no alcohol tonight? >> No. >> Okay. >> Not this >> That is pretty great. Okay. Without staring at that, you're going to touch it like this. Hands to your side. Going to stay like that unless I tell you to move. Do you understand? >> Okay. >> You said you had no alcohol in here, right? >> No. >> Okay. Um question for you. Do you have any traumatic brain injuries? >> No. >> Okay. Do you wear contacts or glasses? >> No. >> Do you have any any kind of physical impairments that might prevent you from walking? What's going on? >> I have uh rhabdomyolysis. >> I do not know what that is, so if you could explain it, please. >> Um rhabdomyolysis is a a muscle disease where it attacks my muscles, and I have um Graves' disease. >> Explain Graves' disease to me. >> Graves' disease is I don't have a a thyroid. >> Okay. Um and the other one affects your muscles, you said, correct? >> Yes. >> So, is that going to affect you walking in a straight line? >> No. >> You'll be able to walk in a straight line? >> Absolutely. >> Oh, okay. And you'll be able to stand on one leg? >> Absolutely. >> Does that muscle, I guess, deterioration, does that mess with your eyes? >> No. >> Like have you >> Like yeah, well, yeah. >> In what way? Tell me. >> Um they bulge, so they kind of sometimes and I have a lazy left eye. >> Okay. >> Like if you >> Okay. Have you ever been like Do you know if you have or have you ever been diagnosed with any kind of form of nystagmus? >> No. >> You've never been diagnosed with that? >> No. >> It's just causes your eyes just kind of bulge out a little bit? >> Yeah, and it I have a lazy eye that one follows the other, but no. >> Okay. >> Following protocol, a field sobriety test was conducted, and the result pointed towards intoxication. Realizing that she had been caught, she attempted to deflect with a touching story, but that ended up exposing her even more. >> But I'm not even driving. So, why am I in trouble? >> Well, you drove here, right? >> No. >> Huh? What? >> Pardon me? >> I said you drove here, right? >> I did. >> Okay. Uh So, let me go back to this incident. What happened uh when you came into the doggy door? >> Okay, so last night you guys said >> Yeah, I So, I just I just need to know what happened when you came into the doggy door. >> Okay, so I asked him. I go, "Open the front door. Open the garage door. Let me get my stuff back into the house." That's it. >> Okay. Okay, so what then what happened about you climbing through the doggy door? >> Because he didn't open the door. >> Yes. And elaborate what what happened. >> So, I jumped the fence and came through the doggy door. >> Awesome. When you were in the when you got through the doggy door, what happened? >> Nothing. >> When you got inside? >> I welcomed my dogs because I missed them. Cuz uh Morris my PTSD dog. >> Okay. >> I missed her. >> I'm using a brand new mouthpiece, okay, Lindy? >> This pipe this kind of month is really bad for me. Yeah. >> Give me a second, okay? Let me hear that again. >> Sure. >> [snorts] >> I went to my grandson's grave today and I decorated it. I'm just so tired of everything. I think everybody forgot about him. You know? >> Yeah, how'd that make you feel? >> It makes me feel awful because he's still my baby. Everybody seems to forget about me. Grandkids and my son and my daughter. They just Everybody wants to like excuse them this time of year. You know, it just it just sucks. >> [snorts] >> And then to tell me to ask somebody else if it's I approval to do things, it just sucks. Like you it should not be that like It shouldn't be this dramatic, right? >> [snorts] >> You know what? I'm done with this place at this time of year. Between um Thanksgiving and Christmas is really hard for me. >> Yeah. >> You know? I mean, 10 days after Okay, so my son died and wait, my grandson died while we were in Denver because they tried to uh take his amnion. He like had one around his neck, so they clipped it. But she lost too much fluid, so he was born with bell's lungs. Then my son, he freaking speed balled. Then my daughter got a a toxic dose of methadone from U and M and died. So the difference between like Thanksgiving and Christmas I just miss them. >> Yeah, I couldn't say that. >> And then these guys want to always [ __ ] with me at this time, and I don't think that they should be able to >> I I don't think that's that's necessarily what's happening. >> Oh, it is what's happening. >> Okay, we can talk. Go ahead and >> A breathalyzer test was also conducted, and the result came back at 0.17% BAC, but her inconsistent and baseless stories had already said more than any breathalyzer would and the cops already knew the direction that they were headed. >> [snorts] >> Please stop. >> Please just talk. Okay. >> Can you be honest with me about your alcohol consumption? >> Yeah. >> How much? Just be honest with me. That's not the first time >> I've been sleeping at my own freaking >> So when's the when's the last time you had a drink, Mandy? >> You know what happened today to me? It's for the first time somebody sent me my daughter's voice. >> [snorts] >> It's probably hard to listen to. >> It's really [ __ ] hard. Like but I love it. But at the same time it's really [ __ ] >> You can't use alcohol to cope with it. Alcohol doesn't >> No, I started drinking right here in front of the freaking house. I just followed that. I like went up to the store. You can go ask them. Go up to Circle K. I got the freaking I got a half pint and I because my son was pissed off at me. So we just met right here and he's mad. So I went up, got a half pint, parked my house right there and drank the whole goddamn bottle. >> How long ago was that? >> Maybe an hour ago, maybe. Before I jumped the fence. Because this prick is >> in when? >> What's that? >> Cole came in when? How long ago? >> Just before that. >> So 15 minutes ago? >> Yeah. Just [ __ ] right now. >> So I don't mean to make you >> You know what? Last night you guys told me to go back to my room and chill out. I did that. >> So >> Uh and then you told me that Bobby is in rehab and Bobby gets to control my life. I did that. >> So, what's with Wendy? So, I can get your hand out of your actual side. >> Oh my god. >> to search you to make sure you Listen to me. Let me I'm going to roll your sleeves a little bit, okay? >> Okay. I drank my beer though. >> If you had alcohol that long ago, it's not really consistent with what you're saying right now. >> Oh, okay. >> Cuz >> That long ago? >> That little portable breathalyzer you did, that was I mean that's not We're going to have another test after that, but that was twice the legal limit, so it's not consistent with what you're telling me right now. At least you're impaired at this. >> Okay. >> Let's go to my car. >> Yep. Okay, which car? >> Uh left, sorry. It's on the left, it's behind this Explorer. >> Oh, okay. >> Let's go to the back. Like I said, I don't mean to make your day worse than it it sucks. Let's go to the other side, sorry. >> Okay. >> I I appreciate you being cool with me. You don't have to be cool with me, but you are and I I appreciate that, okay? Uh face my car, please. I don't even think Oh, you have some pockets. You have small pockets. Nothing on you that I need to consider about on you? >> No. >> Go ahead and take a seat in my car once I move this basket real quick. Let me move Go ahead and take a seat right here, please. Did you want your cell phone to go with you? >> If you wouldn't mind. >> Where is it at? >> Um it's in the house. >> Well, we'll try to get it. What color is it? >> Uh it's silver. >> Silver, okay. >> You got to remember I was talking to my dogs. >> You got to I think it's going to be all right, but I'll have >> No, I've been here for like an hour, right? >> The call came in about 20 minutes ago. Can you scoot towards the yellow line? >> I've been here for almost an hour, guys. >> Ouch. Sorry. >> And my left wrist is broken. >> Is it? >> Yeah. Oh my god. >> How you're sitting right now? >> Oh my god, my left wrist is broken. Look. You guys took me to Sonoma County. >> When did that happen? >> Uh on Saturday. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. >> Step up. >> Just move it. >> Step up real quick. >> Just get away from my heart, please. >> Step up. Step up. Let me take I'm going to put them up front. Okay. >> Ow. >> Okay. Okay. Lindy, I need to take it off. >> No, I'm cold. >> There we go. Once Lindy got to the station, the seriousness of her case would likely begin to sink in, along with the fact that her [ __ ] and bull stories weren't helping her at all. Can you step out real quick? Go to that door over there. On a scale of 1 to 10, how's the pain you're experiencing? >> Eight. >> Step to your left, please. >> Op. Sorry. >> Did you want to see an ambulance here in a little bit or did you What do you think? Do you think you'll >> No, I'm okay. >> You'll see a nurse over there at the jail. Let's go Take a right at this over here. You've never been here before? Take a right. And then left. Open door from this chair left. Take a left. Take another left. And there's a chair on the right. Not this one, the other one. Sorry. Yes, that one. That one has a stain. >> Ouch. Oh my god. Now I know where it hurts, huh? Okay, chill. >> So, I'll call the jail here in a little bit to make sure we'll see if they believe and accept you down there. Now, if they don't, we might have to go to the hospital to do your paperwork. Just to get it checked out again, but it just depends on how well they say. If they're like, "No, take her." then I might have to take you to the hospital just for a quick exam. All right, okay. All right, listen to me. I'm about to tell you something important. >> Okay. >> You are under arrest for DUI. >> Uh-huh. >> New Mexico Implied Consent Act requires you to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content of your blood. You got it. >> We're going a little bit >> Ow. >> That happened you said this last Saturday, what Saturday was that? >> Yeah. >> Like what date was it? Right now it's >> I don't What's the date today? >> It's the 10th today. >> And it's Wednesday, right? >> Yes. >> [music] >> 10th, 9th, 8th, 7th, 6th. And I have to work tomorrow. >> I have your cell phone, so I don't want you to make some some calls. I'll keep it here with me here for now. I have your cell phone if you need to make some calls here in a little bit. I can let you do that, okay? >> Okay. >> So it happened this past Saturday. You said, right? >> I have just been going through so much. >> No, you're good. I just want to get as much information that way I can let the doctor know. That's all. That way I can tell him kind of give him a timeline as far as what you're going through. >> So really God tell me the year to [ __ ] with a person that You know what? Sometimes I uh I don't >> I don't even want to complain. >> I don't have anything to complain about. >> He's having a hard or a hard time, right? >> Well, yeah. >> So >> And my ex-husband just thinks he can just live in that He's not my ex-husband, by the way. And he just thinks he can live in that house and I don't have the opportunity to ever go back. When I do, we've been together for 30 years. So what did I do wrong? Drink in front of the house? In my own house? The one that I own? You guys have no right to come do that. >> In an attempt to guilt trip the officers, Lindy turned on the water works, convinced that her age and status as a grandmother might lighten the situation. >> What about him? Did you test him for alcohol? Cuz he's drunk as well. >> I got you. >> So how can I be in front of my house? My own house that I own for 2 hours and everybody's with me? >> I'll explain. >> At this time of year? It's not fair for you guys to even be in my god damn face. I did 2 years and 8 months of sobriety. >> You're wrapping up a little bit. You just don't want to do this test, Lindy? >> No. >> You don't want to do it? >> I don't want to do it. >> You have to tell me, okay, Lindy. You have to tell me, okay, or else I have to read you another form, too. >> [snorts] >> Whatever you want to do. >> You have to tell me, Lindy. I can't make your decision for >> I'll do whatever you need me to do. Of course I will. >> It's You want to do it? Yes. You don't want to? Then no. >> No, I'm >> I can't tell you. I can't make your decision for you. >> I'm not trying to be mean. >> You're [ __ ] You're having a Did you still want to do it? >> Yes, of course. >> Lindy tried a different approach and instead of trying to escape, she focused on convincing the cops that their work wasn't thorough enough. >> Why didn't you guys Why didn't you take him? >> He didn't drive though, right? >> He did. He drove up 5 minutes before I did. Oh my god, you guys. >> So, for as far as him, I didn't smell anything. I'll call him. >> Oh my god, you guys. [ __ ] A. Oh, wow. He just got there, too. Well, >> He didn't just get there. >> We've been there for 2 hours fighting. Oh my god. So, I'm the only one in trouble? Go get him, too. I don't get it. I don't know why you guys want to do this to me. Can you roll back and get him now, too? >> Lindy. >> Why can't you do >> I understand you're pissed that you're getting the one that's getting in trouble. I understand that. >> But why didn't you guys just get him in the same trouble? >> smell alcohol. I didn't know >> But that doesn't smell alcohol. It doesn't mean that he we we >> Well, I talked to him. I was right up on him. We were talking. >> Dude, we got there the same exact time. We drank the same exact alcohol. >> You guys both drank the same alcohol? >> Absolutely. >> I didn't smell anything on him. >> Oh, well, that doesn't >> [laughter] >> Why? Because he went in the house and brushed his teeth and >> I didn't smell anything on >> Dude, that's like so >> I understand you're pissed. >> contradictory to what's going on here. >> You give >> That alcohol. >> You want to take a secret video? >> Oh my god, you guys picked on me and not him. Oh god. >> [snorts] >> How come both of our cars are parked in the dirt? I was parked I wasn't even in the car. >> I understand that. >> So, but you guys are charging me with a DUI when I wasn't even in the vehicle. I was in my house. >> It'll be in the report as the explanation why >> It is I was in my with my dogs. >> So, again >> [snorts] >> So, it'll be in the report. >> god. >> So, this is what >> Why did you guys do that to me? >> So, this is what's happening today. You will have your chance with your lawyer. Right? These are all good These are all good things to bring up with your lawyer. This is what this is happening today. >> But why didn't you guys do that to me? Why didn't you drag him out? >> I understand you're mad about this, but >> But why didn't you drag him out? >> Okay. I Yeah, I'm not going to talk about >> No, I want to know. I'm I'm asking you a serious freaking question. Drag him out. >> Okay. So, >> But I wasn't driving. >> Okay. I I'm going to explain that in the report. Ready? So, let's leave it there. I I will explain to you why. Okay. Good things to bring up with your lawyer. But this has to happen today, okay? I know you're pissed. I know you you're pissed. So, let's >> Did you guys go test him? >> Okay, and I I'm not we're not going to go do that. And I understand you're going to keep saying why, but I'm I'm telling you we're not going to. >> Okay. >> Okay? So, I'm going to give you this. >> Okay. >> But, I need you to continue to be cool with me. >> Okay. >> I don't want you calling 911. Hey. I don't want you calling 911. >> I wouldn't have. >> want you calling I don't want you to say cuz people have done it. I'm going to give you the privilege of this. >> Okay. >> I don't want you calling anybody to come pick you up. I'm like that. So, you're going to go to the jail, the Snow County Detention Center. >> Okay. >> I don't want you calling somebody to come pick you up from here, nothing crazy like that. If I get a call from dispatch, I'm taking this away from you. >> Okay. >> Play games, kill some time. Give me about 40 minutes to do paperwork, okay? >> In the end, Lindy was charged with severe driving while under the influence of liquor. Up next is Angela, a woman whose violent actions unfolded in the presence of her grandchild. >> directly at me and put her hands on me. >> Actually, I just grabbed her arm and I let go. >> All right. I apologize for taking your phone. >> Okay. >> Apologize for speaking to you. I will never speak to you again. >> On October the 30th, 2023, officers were deployed to a Walmart after receiving reports of a physical dispute during a child custody exchange, where an elderly woman pulled the child's mother's hair and took her phone. When the cops arrived at the scene, they spoke to the victim, and what she described about her encounter with the elderly woman painted a deeply unpleasant picture. >> So, they told us to stay from her cuz she's following her. >> No, you don't. I was sitting here now. >> Well, I understand, but I need to talk to people one at a time. So, why don't you go talk to him? All right. So, what's going on with him? >> I I um So, this little baby here, >> very cute little baby. >> Um the father is in here. He had to leave to go work. They already have a a abusive history where she needs a friend to be with her, and he needs his mom to be there, but he left to go to work or whatever. I never met this woman like that before. So, as soon as she comes comes like getting here walking, she comes directly up to me giving her a "Watch your mouth. Who you talking to? Who you think you talking to?" And she grabs my arms. I'm 35 years old. I respect my elders. I So, instead of trying to retaliate and fight and stuff, I said, "I'm going to just call the police. I'm not for the fight no older woman like that." But, you not just going to talk to me and I I don't understand why she did that. Like, why she just came at me. >> So, like immediately once you walk up to her, she just started acting all aggressive or anything? >> she was parked in the back. Her She got a big nephew and she told him to park around the corner. He get out all aggressively trying to come at us, too. So, he's back there somewhere parked in the car. But, he says, "We've been waiting here for F'ing 4:00 or whatever the case is." The court order says 6:00. And all we did was ask if she can come to the front. We didn't want she They parked all the way in the back and want us to go in the back. So, now let's in the front where the cameras are. We're going to do an exchange in the front. Why you want us to be all the way back there for? Like, that that wasn't That wasn't sinking well to me. So, I'm like, "Let's just say, okay, we need to get groceries. Tell her to come to the front." They got so upset about coming to the front for whatever reason, I'm not sure. But, we said we wanted to do it in a public place where there's cameras. Let's do it in the front. That's why we told her to come to the front. Period. And then, because I said that, she just probably knew me that hear that on the phone, she came directly at me and put her hands on me. >> And she like just grabbed her on your arm? Okay. >> I'm like, >> Both of your arms? >> I yeah. I'm like, I don't know this lady. I'm just here to support. That's my best friend. I'm supporting her. This little girl, you see how she's tugging on me? She doesn't even want to go to her. She doesn't have Well, you have anything to do with this. I've been here since she's been born. Your son just now meeting her for the first time, and she's 2 years old. Y'all Why you have >> Angela was also questioned, and she made efforts to soften the impact of her actions, but whether that would be enough to save her remains to be seen. >> How's it going? >> What's going on? I don't know. Waste of your time, for one thing. But no. And I My son used to be married to the lady in the black shorts. >> Okay. >> And um it was his uh visitation this weekend. We had to come down here. He had to leave. I don't know why she put the visitation on Sunday, uh Saturday and Sunday. He had to be at work on Monday. So, he had to go to work. We don't live here. I live uh up in Marion, Alabama. My son lives in Leland, uh Leland, Mississippi. So, I stayed in town. >> He has to drive down here for a visitation? >> for [snorts] for the first couple of months. >> Okay. >> And um So, um We made arrangements 6:00. So, we've been in that parking lot close to an hour waiting. We know it's 6:00. We just want to make sure she was here. So, about 5:45, I called, and then my son called, and and you know, she you know, mess you know, she said, "Well, it wasn't 6:00." And she gave this address, and she told us she was at Walmart. Subway in Walmart. So, we go in the Subway. We go in the Walmart. There's no Subway. So, we call her again. And he's yapping in the back. We told her we'd be parking in the back, so we wouldn't be around anybody, so we can exchange, you know, she can or get the things out. They They us to come up >> Mhm. >> here. >> To the front of the store right here? >> Front of the store. >> Okay. >> Cuz she you know they can go in and get groceries and stuff. I said, "Well, what about the things and the one in the back?" I said, "Well, how much Well, how much is it?" I said, "What about the short one with the braids?" Like I said, we got a 6-hour plus drive. >> Mhm. >> And she, you know, wouldn't answer the phone at first. I just playing games and I asked who was your And, you know, I might have touched the hair and she put a camera in my face and I took it from her and put it in the car and I was trying to tell the law, "Get your baby out the car cuz she's crying and we want to get on the road and, you know, here's the things. This is what she gave to us and this is what we, you know, brought to give to the baby. She wanted to call the you know police and file charges against me. They they blowing it all up. I you know, >> Mhm. >> really I know not, you know, put touch in her hair. I didn't pull it. I just touched it and I just got a phone out of her hand >> What did you uh When you say you touched her hair, what what happened? You just >> I just had had a braid, you know. >> Uh grabbed her hair? >> Yeah, I didn't grab it hard. My hand went up and grabbed, you know, called the braid. You see how long they are. And she bending got up in my face talking about she documenting and stuff and I'm like, "Get the you know, the phone out of my face." And I took it out of her hand and put it in the car. >> Mhm. >> And she said she's calling the police that I assaulted her. I know you don't assault the police. I you know, touched the hair and got the phone out of her hand and everything. >> Mhm. >> Um >> Is your son Is your son here? >> Uh he had to go to work. >> Okay, that's right. >> So, if he don't go to work, that means he don't have a job. He ain't going to be able to pay child support. And um It's been a little problem with her playing >> Okay. >> making it hard for >> Do they live here, I'm assuming? >> here. >> Okay, then okay. >> Like I see it's it's 6 plus. Uh 6 plus. >> I got you. Do you have an ID card? I can add you to the call. >> I don't have it on me. All right, it's in my car. >> Where's your car at? >> Let me go >> As the victim continued speaking, the video evidence surfaced, and whatever it revealed would either shift things in Angela's favor or leave her in an even tighter spot beyond anything her story could protect her from. >> You haven't been around. Why you haven't been calling? Why you haven't been here? Why this little girl don't know you? Because she's siding with her son. That's why. She siding with him instead of trying to be real co-parents and let's get along, let's make everything work. Why do I even have to be here? >> This is like your first real-time meeting her? >> Yeah. She doesn't know me. So You're not going to touch me like that. Then she took my phone out of my hand. >> So she she grabbed you by the arms, pushed you back, and then grabbed your phone and yanked it? >> No, this was another time. >> Okay. So she grabbed my phone and then Okay. >> It was today. It was today. So I moved back or whatever. I'm like, "Why are you touching me? Who do you think you're touching?" And then she cuz I uh took her license plate. That's why I was videoing taking her license plate and who she is, and that's when she had grabbed my phone out of my hand. And I'm like, "Hey, you need to give me my phone." She was like, "I was going to She was about to throw it on the ground." >> Mhm. >> So I'm like, "Okay, you're going to break my phone." She's like, "This is not between you. This is between us. We never met her or whoever that big guy is." So how does he get involved? He or they didn't even know her. So >> And then after that, you guys just separated? She gave you your phone back? >> Yeah, I have the phone now. Because I Like I said, I don't want no drama. >> She's grabbing her ID. Can I look at it? Is that it right there? >> This is for you you little thing. Look, this is by the way, she's saying who is who is my granny. >> Kale, we've been waiting here an hour for you. >> I'll get smart with you. >> You gave us the the address. When you give an address, put the name on it. If it's Grandma Hutch, Hutch, I'm not talking to you. >> So what did you say to me that time? >> Well, it started right away. >> Well, oh, really? So >> She doesn't have the video She doesn't have the video with her touching me. >> Oh, okay. So what did you catch from her in the 10 minutes? >> It's probably 6:30. >> Okay. >> Probably where she took my phone. Yeah, I got the whole thing. I recorded the whole thing. >> Yep, it's done. >> You made your bed. >> You're ready? >> I'm not leaving. >> Yeah. Uh can you just go back over to your car? >> Like the extent of like a physical contact where she walked up, grabbed her arm, pushed me back, and then later on went and grabbed the phone. >> Well, my own video tape of her >> Let's just collect this, okay? >> Maybe when she is older. You see it on there? I did not push her. >> Well, we just got to do our investigation. Whatever they say, we have to document it. And then what you say, I already got I already talked to you, so I already have your side of the story, and I'm going to document what you said as well. Okay? >> This woman is putting her hands on me. >> Oh, yeah, wait. We got it. We got >> It's done. We're good. >> Wait, I think you have it though. Give her her phone. >> You got it. We're good. >> I need her. >> It's fine. We're good. We're good. >> I'm putting Yep, it's good. Give her her phone back. >> I want you to get the baby out. >> Give her her phone back. >> Get the baby out. >> I'm right here. It's right here. Yeah. >> So that's So that's your 2-minute mark. >> Oh. >> Hey. >> It's fine. We're good. We're good. Yep, it's fine. >> Do you want to do a statement for me? All right. So, you want to prosecute? >> Yeah. >> All right. >> I didn't get an apology or anything. >> Go ahead. >> I mean, that would change a lot if I got an apology. >> All right. So, these circled ones are going to be your information, and then down here is kind of your story of what happened. Okay? Circled ones are your info, down there is story of what happened. >> I'm just um if you don't live here, you need to take me on down to the station and book me because >> Right now, we're just getting everybody's statements during our investigation, okay? >> Um >> A rare opportunity was now presenting to Angela, and if she was as wise as most people her age are assumed to be, she would seize it as though her life depended on it. >> That's why I didn't apologize. You still have time to apologize. I don't know you. I'm not sure why you were I don't know I don't know why you were in the background yapping when I'm trying to talk to mother. We have been down here every I have ever since Friday. We don't live around here. >> Okay. >> You want me to apologize? I'm sorry. You will never cross my path. >> Well, she said that she didn't. >> I don't have a problem with you being a first grader. I want to talk to my Anthony, and y'all going to have to take this back to court. You're going to need to do better than that. You just give an address, and you don't say it's to Walmart or to Subway. You just give an address, and we come to the So, you got to work better than that. She said apology I apologize. >> That's what she wants to hear. >> Apologize for what? I >> apologize for touching you. >> I apologize for taking your phone. I apologize for speaking to you. I will never speak to you again. Never. >> Okay. Thank you for the apology. I don't have a problem with you. >> No, I don't I don't I don't know you. I don't know you. >> you touched me, I don't know you. I don't know who you are. >> Right. She played these games. She played these games Saturday with us. >> I'm right here. >> understand that child custody that gets everybody's emotions up high, but we don't need to bring all of that in the past. Right now, we're just focused on this incident right now. >> Listen. >> We picking up and dropping off. I'm used to picking up with or with her mother. I don't know who she is. I don't bring I don't bring I don't >> I've been there way more than her son has ever been. >> Well, you know you know why is that? And has been that she had been communicating with him. >> I'm telling you take it back to the court. That's not something that, you know, hashing it out between the two of you can sometimes get a little bit more messy, so it's better to just go through the court. >> My question to you, I just ignore her cuz she she she just going to keep rambling or whatever, but after that apology, do you still want to do a statement and prosecute? >> I want I want to do a statement. I won't say I'll prosecute, but it needs to be documented because >> Yeah, it well >> They're fighting. >> No, it's it's going to be documented. >> money. They taking her to court. They admitted her like the bad person trying to >> whether you want to prosecute or not, or even if you do a statement either, so Yeah, it's it's going to it's going to be documented. You don't have to do a statement. If If you want to, you can. It's still going to be documented regardless. I'm going to give you a case number with everything that happened documenting I'll even ask you I'll ask you I'll send you a link to upload that footage. Or this is your phone, right? >> Yeah. >> So, I'll send you a link uh to your phone, and then just upload the footage. That way, it's all going to be documented and reported. You're going to have video evidence of it. >> And she just told her husband in front of you guys. Can y'all make sure y'all put that in the statement? So, they won't be lying later like she don't put her hands on me. >> Yeah. >> Why why why we can't get along? Like why I don't understand it. Why are you so Why are they so angry? >> So, >> have to be like that. >> No, for sure for sure. Did you So, you don't want to do the same anymore? Cuz it doesn't really Cuz I >> I want fresh charges. >> Okay. >> I want that fresh charges. >> Okay. >> As long as it's documented. >> Cool. >> No, I didn't I didn't Like I said, I don't live here. We live six hours away. We parked back there out of all this commotion here. So, she can She ain't in the background. Yeah, but how much you got? He called his girlfriend. Got his girlfriend. I'm like, "What about the bag?" "Well, how much you have?" I know you got to do your job and stuff, but So, if if I need to go to the down to your office book or anything like that? >> Right now, he's discussing it with her. We'll go from there. >> So, why you >> Guys, people were fighting and >> So, Fighting? We weren't fighting in front of her. Kayla was in the car. >> Okay. She was still there. >> We were outside. >> She was still there. So, notified that doesn't mean that they're going to come out or do anything. They just got made aware. >> Wait. She You just asked for an apology. I gave you an apology, and now >> So, like here, I'll come talk with you about all this. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> She appeared convinced that any apology would be enough to set things right. But, what she didn't account for was that the decision for what was acceptable wasn't hers to control. >> charges. She's going to jail tonight. But, you will have to keep on following that up in court, and you'll have to have it up at the various court houses. So, regardless of if you press charges, you can still get an injunction like a restraining order against her. So, no matter what you choose to do, yes or no, we will have this report and we'll have a case number. They'll give you all of that. >> They're going to reach out to my son. >> Yes, they're going to reach out to your son, probably. They're going to talk to you guys that have been involved, but honestly, it's >> Hold on. Hold on. Let me Let me get her on the phone so she can tell him exactly. Hey Anna, are you there? Okay, listen. He going to say something. They going to I don't know what Kale said he's doing. One minute she's pressing charges, the next minute she's mad. But they going to have to call uh office and he I don't know how to explain to explain what it's about. >> Hello. Uh this is Anthony? >> Yes, sir. >> What's up, brother? Uh this is Deputy Sheriff Dooley County Sheriff's Office. Are you the father? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, essentially uh there was a kind of um a battery that happened in Florida. So, uh I don't want to touch a strike on the battery. So, when your This is your mother? Your mo- when your mother reached and grabbed the phone out of uh uh I think it was Ker- Kerry-Ann or something. Uh out of her hand, that counts as a battery. Um they're kind of kind of up in the air whether they want to prosecute or not. I'm I'm sure they just want it documented essentially. Um so, I doubt she's going to prosecute. Um I'm sure I could probably convince her. Um but because this happened in the presence of your and again, the the report the initial report, um chances are they're probably not going to even come out and do an investigation because this is This is kind of minor compared to what it comes out to, which is more severe, child abuse or things along those lines. >> We will not >> sir, we wouldn't be having this conversation, understood? Unless what it's coming down to, bottom line. Period. >> Oh, Anna. >> Period. If it was them >> And now I'm standing here in Walmart, right? >> Huh? That's >> Yeah. Going over there. >> put a They would have put me in jail. >> Did they? We shouldn't be going over this all this time in this parking What's the hold up? Where did he go? It's not about me. I stood there with my camera recording the whole thing. It's not about me. So, the consequences, the punishments, repercussions, whatever. That's what comes with it. Period. Let's just say that you don't have any marks or anything like that. No marks, but I Nothing happened with this. Nothing happened. I could use the whole medical Just sign on your like upper arms. And I'll just take some overall Can you put your hands out like this for me? Look them over. There we go. Any questions? It's not new. I got a picture of it. It looks older to me. All right, I'll still got a picture of it. My son used my hip to save his father when he got hurt. So, you know I got to get out. I don't you know I know she's a mother and stuff. I have no problem with mothers dropped him off when she was bringing his friends and they're talking in the background telling But anyway, we just talked to, you know, All right, do you have any questions before you go? >> Um no. I mean, I'm going with my best friend's son because it's true. If it was the other way around, they'd be getting She's going to act like we did nothing at all. >> Did we send you the link yet or did you have it? >> Angela was one of those grandmothers who believed that being older gave her leverage in every and all situations. But she was about to learn that old age offers no protection for wrongdoings. >> Fortunately, they did want to press charges, okay? Turn around for me. Hands behind your back. >> Angela was ultimately charged with simple battery. Angela's behavior was nothing to write home about, but it pales in comparison to Diana Chaudhuri, whose drinking often led to disruptive and frightening scenes at home. >> And then this came up in her brother's the water bottle and it was just squirting out and I don't know if I want her to come back. >> Why? Why would you be sad because she's coming back? >> Cuz there's a possibility she'll hit me again. >> On May the 5th, 2024, officers were called to a residence after an incident in which a grandmother allegedly threw water on her grandson during an argument over a game that he was playing. Upon arriving at the scene, a cop spoke to Diana's daughter, Julie, and her son, Israel, who is also Diana's grandson, and they recounted the difficulties that they had endured with Diana, experiences a boy of that age should never have to witness. >> Hi. Hi, did you call? >> Do you have a room number? >> Where's your roommate at? My daughter. >> Hello. >> Okay, is there a detail officer with you? >> Let me talk to him. Yeah, what's going on? He can come out here. She's Is she the one that you called on? Who is she to you guys? >> She's my roommate, but she's my mother. >> Oh, she's your mother. >> Copy, room 71. >> I was told not to say she's my mother cuz you say that don't take what's going on seriously I think >> It's >> actually the opposite. >> Oh. >> No, I have to do something if it's domestic. I have to You don't have to. We take all of it. No matter what it is, we'll we'll take it serious. So, what happened? >> I was dealing with the baby. Fluffy, he ran off. He had the water bottle, and he was playing a bottle flip. And then all of a sudden, I guess she had another water bottle. I guess she was complaining about the noise because he was flipping the bottle. And then she had a bottle All I heard was something hit him, and she said He said, "Ooh, why did you hit me?" And so I came out like, "Oh, I thought she hit him with the hand." But I come out, and he's drenched with water. He told me the water bottle hit him on his chest, but it was open. >> Okay. And got all over you? So, have any injuries or anything? What were you doing? What happened? >> I was just playing bottle flip, and and her and him just came up, and her grabbed the water bottle, and then it just just squirted all over him. >> What did she do with it? >> She grabbed it, and then squirted it. >> She squirted it, or did she throw it at you? >> She did squirt it. >> Did she actually hit you with the water bottle? >> Uh-uh. >> No, just the water? >> Uh-huh. >> Okay. So, she threw water at you? Okay. And you said she was intoxicated? >> That's an every night thing. I know you have the history and you guys >> I've actually not been out here before, so I'm not sure, but I'm sure there is. >> Yeah. >> She's been an issue before? >> Many times, and DCF has been called multiple times before. >> Okay. All right. Stay on here, okay? >> Zayana was then questioned by the cops, and she shared her version of events, unaware that their interest in her went far beyond a simple exchange of words. >> He's a really good son. He likes to wet my couches. He puts the water all over the place and stuff, and so I cleaned everything, and the pool, and I let him go swimming. He went swimming, and then he came back, and he just decided he was just going to go ahead and throw the water all over the couches. So, when he threw the water all over the couches, I said, "Well, I'm going to throw water on you." So, I took the water bottle, it all over them. How would you feel? >> I'll feel sad if she comes back. >> Why? Okay, does your dad work? >> Mhm. >> What about mom? >> You know, my mom keeps hitting me a long time. >> Okay, so you're always home with your mom. >> Mhm. >> Is mom home right now, do you think? >> Mhm. >> Mom just had >> The cops went further to speak to Israel's father. What What revealed about Diana did nothing to help her case. Instead, it only made her situation much more complicated. >> Okay, how's it going? >> Hello. >> Is that Luna? >> Yeah. >> Adorable. >> This is also a little Caiden. >> Caiden. >> Caiden. Yeah. >> Caiden, that's my That's my nephew. >> Okay, the reason why I asked is because we went to the school to speak to your son and he mentioned that Caiden was his brother. His brother just lives somewhere else, though. >> They grew up like brothers. She could say that. They grew up They They were like They grew up like a week apart from each other. >> Well, Jason, my name is Shamisa. I work for the Department of Children and Family Services. Um I'm out because of an incident that took place with Are you guys married? You and Julia, are you married? >> Uh no, no, we're not. >> No, not yet. Okay. >> I wasn't here you guys. I was at work when this happened, so I I really don't even know what really happened as far as from what they told me happened, so. >> So, can you tell us what you were told? >> She was out here playing and I guess she hit him in the back of the head or threw a water bottle in the head of him or something like that. >> And mom was here, though. Mom saw the whole thing happen. >> mom was here. But as far as I'm concerned, but she is always be like doing like some crazy stuff anyway, you know what I'm saying? Like verbal verbally saying, you know what I'm saying? And try to, you know, grab take take her take take her flat off and try to hit him with it sometimes, you know what I'm saying? I've seen that, but I stopped her and stuff. >> And what was her reason and for trying to discipline him? Was she like doing something to Caiden or was it out of nowhere she was just trying to hit him? >> As far as I'm concerned, he was probably trying to play with her and she didn't want to play with him, so she, you know what I'm saying? Got mad or something. >> I don't know what it was. You know, he's a kid, he wants to play with her, but she I know she's a little older, she probably doesn't want to play all the time, you know what I'm saying? >> And this is grandma's house, right? >> Yeah, it's grandma's house, yeah. >> And you guys have been living here for like about a year? >> Yeah. >> In that year, how often do you think like grandma's gone off like that? >> This has been going on since >> Since day one? >> Since she was a kid. You know what I'm saying? This This is not nothing. This has been going on since Julia was a kid. We lived here like like four or five years ago for like a year as well. >> Mhm. >> And it was like pretty much the same thing. You know, the only reason why we came back is because she was sick and she needed help paying the bills. So, she isn't paying the bills, we pay all the bills. >> This has been going on forever, dude. She'll drink and then when she drinks, it's it's over with, you know what I'm saying? So, she'll start saying some off-the-wall type stuff, you know? >> Yeah, I got you. >> She drinks every day. >> What does she drink? >> Pretty sure like vodka or something. She carries around like a little tea bottle. >> So, it's a it's a tea bottle, but the the liquid the liquid inside is clear? >> not clear, but it's like it's different colored every time, you know? She'll She'll She'll make a little She'll make a little cup, you know what I'm saying? She'll pour a little juice in there. >> Do you ever like smell it or does it smell like liquor? >> I don't have to, but I can just tell what she drinks. >> Just the way she acts? >> I I know. I know. >> I got you. >> I already know. I don't have to go in the cupboard and smell it. I'm pretty sure it's vodka. I've seen vodka bottles in the trash can. >> Do you guys ever like corporally punish Isaac? >> Israel. >> Israel, my bad. >> What do you mean by that? >> Like you guys ever like hit him when he doesn't do his homework or like, you know, a little smack on the shoulder? >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, I know. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I make threats and do that. Like I take the belt off on you and get you right real quick, but I never hit him, you know what I'm saying? That Just by me saying that that should be enough, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, just raise my voice a little bit, you know how men are, you know? >> Yeah, I got you. >> They hear They hear the voice and the authority and then they do what they're supposed to do, you know what I'm saying? That's as far as I go. I haven't given him a spanking in a very long time. >> Now, what about mom? >> She right now, I mean, she pretty much lets him get away with a lot, I guess, right now cuz she's like deployed in the Navy, but you know what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> He's a pretty good kid, though. I really don't have never no problems with him, you know what I'm saying? He's a good kid. He does his homework, chills in his room, plays video games, freaking goes outside and kicks next door to him, too. >> So, mom doesn't implement any corporal punishment on him, either? >> What do you mean by corporal punishment? Like hitting him or like >> So, yeah, so just so that we're on the same page, the corporal punishment is like basically in Florida, it's totally legal for you to like spank your kid. It just can't be excessive, you know? >> She can't She hasn't given him a spanking in a long time, a very long time. As far as I'm concerned, when I yell at him >> It works better? >> It works better cuz he yeah, yeah. He'll get teary-eyed and I'll just be like, "Bro, just what you got to do, you know what I'm saying?" >> Yeah. >> Is there ever a problem with the homework? Like, does he not want to do the homework sometimes? >> You know that's kids. I never wanted to do homework either. But yeah, he'll he'll try to like get over some days, you know what I'm saying? But he always ends up cuz like they give him a packet he has to finish before the week's over. So, it's a mess. One One day he might miss it, double up next day, you know what I'm saying? >> Okay. >> If he misses a day, he got to double up the next day. That's all you have to do. If he doesn't do his homework, he can't play. He can't He can't eat. Basically, can't do anything until he does does his homework. Can't go outside, can't play video games, you know what I'm saying? >> You said Grandma drinks like every day. So, how many times throughout the week she's like snapping? >> I would say at least like four or five days out of the week. >> Diana obviously thought she could act however she pleased and get away with it. After all, she was the oldest among them all. But the outcome of the case would certainly teach her otherwise, especially with Israel's father still not done revealing what he knew. >> Once she's drinking, it's always little stupid stuff that she has to say. She'll always start arguing with somebody, you know what I'm saying? Just >> Is she like physically aggressive or just verbal most of the time? >> Verbal, but she can get physical. She has put her hands on Julie before she has video. But yeah, she feels like she can put her hands on people, which I don't understand why. >> Yeah. >> You know? And she feels like she can get away with it. >> Do you know if she ever had like treatment for her drinking? If this been going on since Julie has been >> Yeah, she's been drinking ever since Julie was a baby. It's not a new thing with her mom. >> Was Was Grandma ever diagnosed with like any kind of like mental disorder or behavioral issues? >> Not that I'm aware of. I know she's sick right now due to her drinking. She's supposed to be in the hospital, too, but she just didn't want to ever go. >> Eventually, at some point, you know, Grandma's going to get bonded or bailed out. >> Okay. >> She's getting out of at some point. >> Right. >> And you know, this is her house. >> Right. >> You guys have established residency, right? So, you guys still live here. >> Right. >> However, at the same time, when she comes back to this house, there is going to be a continuation of issues. So, have you guys started talking about formulating a game plan as far as how to move on from here? >> Yeah. >> Because, you know, you can be hopeful that she's not going to try to keep stirring the pot, but I highly doubt it in the time that she spends in county. It's not going to stop. >> There's places we can go, you know, I have a little money saved up. I'm seeing what I can do. I'm just, it's, you know, things It's crazy nowadays. It's really expensive. >> I know, man, trust me. >> She's not working right now, so everything's kind of like on me right now, you know. She's got to watch the baby for at least suggesting this things actually what we just cuz we pretty much stay in a room all day anyway. We don't bother her, so >> Yeah, but I mean, still living in the same house, there's always that potentiality. I'm just saying that it would definitely be in everybody's best interest you and the girl are kind of like get together, start getting to work on that plan. >> Okay. >> You know, however, if she does now continue that behavior and breaks the that no violent contact order, she'll be facing additional like >> It was Julia's turn to be questioned, and what she chose to say about her mother would either soften the blow or make everything even more disastrous for Diana. >> Is this your mom or his mom? >> His mom. >> Your mom. >> Okay. >> This is like where you grew up? This home is where you grew up? Okay. Okay. What happened before you guys moved in here? >> The place that we were staying at they didn't want to renew the lease, so and she needed help cuz she's really sick. I don't know if you've seen her, but she's very sick and she she wasn't working at the time, and so she wanted me to help take her pay the bill. And since they didn't renew the lease, I was like, "Okay, we can come back." Cuz I couldn't find another place. I wanted to help her out because she was really sick and the alcohol is really not helping her at all. I could >> Um, Israel, Mommy's talking to your mom. Can you go play or do you have homework or something? >> Do your homework. >> Yeah. Please. >> Yeah, get started on your homework, buddy, that way you can start playing video games later. >> How long has she been dealing with uh drinking? >> All my life. Cuz there was always violence in the house between her and my dad and stuff with the his >> So, it seems like nobody said anything bad or negative about him at school. It seems like he behaves really well at school. He does pretty well at school. >> That's good. >> They did voice concern though about him being like absent a lot. Is there like a specific reason why? >> Oh, before it was after because we had just gotten this vehicle. We were using her vehicle. >> Okay. >> So, every time she would get upset or mad, she would take she would take the vehicle. >> She would take the car from you guys? >> Yeah, but then we ended up getting our own vehicle. We couldn't we couldn't go shopping and then we couldn't So, we couldn't go out our transportation at the time. >> I'm going to ask you a couple more questions and understand too before I ask these questions, I want to preface it by saying corporal punishment, spanking is legal in the state of Florida. You can spank your kids. So, don't feel like scared when I ask these questions. Do you ever like spank Israel when he like misbehaves, stuff like that? >> Yeah, but not like bad like not like not in the back of the head, you know, just like a little slap on the knee, yeah. >> And how often? >> Not often, only when he's like really really like >> How often do you say that you drink? >> I just had the baby so I probably literally had one drink. It was one night though. We had like >> After after you gave birth? >> Yeah, after I gave birth, we had a a get-together and we had a drink. >> And how about Jason? >> He probably has like a a few beers a couple times a week but not he's not like crazy and not like >> He doesn't like binge drink or anything like that? >> Yeah, he doesn't binge drink and he's not like a a raging alcoholic. >> Can you tell me like what happened Jason to be able to get >> Yeah, he was drinking. So, we were supposed to go play bottle flip in the kitchen but I had to change. It was a water bottle so we always took the bottle whatever. Whoever wins either he loses, he has to go clean his room. >> Oh, so this is like a whole thing with this. This is like rules? >> Yeah, it's like it's a game that we play, yeah. >> I thought he was just like flipping the bottle. >> No, it's a game that we play so he probably was he went out there and started probably started it before me but this time he didn't say >> [crying] >> And then I had to go change the I'm the baby diaper but I was coming around the hallway and I heard like a like a you know when you hear a water bottle hit somebody. >> Yeah. >> And then I said, "What happened?" And I look and there's water all over his face, all over him. So, I'm like, "What the What's going on?" You know? >> Do you know how much he drank? >> I don't know what the size, but it's like a bottle like this big of vodka. >> Like a handle? Like a 750? >> Yeah, something like that. But, it may be a little smaller. I don't think it's that big. Those are the big bottles, right? >> She had that whole bottle? >> Apparently, yeah. >> I know what she drinks. She just goes crazy. >> You said that was vodka? What was the name of it? >> Yeah. >> I don't know. She drinks different ones. >> What kind of vodka is it? >> Platinum. >> So, usually when she's drinking, is she like violent? Physically violent? >> Verbally and physically violent. Verbally and physically violent. >> And how often is that like roughly? >> Every night. >> And how do you keep like your family separated from >> We stay in the room. We lock ourselves up in the room. >> And she doesn't like try to >> Yeah, she does. >> Kick down the door? >> Yeah, if you go in my room, you can see the the borders. She just her is broken. >> For the frame? >> Yeah. The thermostat on the wall for the AC is broken, too, because she was Oh, it's too cold. Oh, nobody's going to Nobody's going to get air. She ripped it off the thing. But, they said it's fine because this is her house, so. >> It's not a crime to break your own stuff. >> Yeah. Yeah, he doesn't like that. >> He doesn't like it. >> And but everybody else he's nice to. He's very nice, welcoming, friendly, but to her he's scared of her. >> And I'm scared And they're around each other, too. >> How many times has Grandma ever like physically hit Israel? >> From when I was here, from what I seen, it was about like three times. >> Three times? You'd say? >> Yeah. And then I would I would be outside and I'll walk in and I'll see her [clears throat] raising her hand like with the you know with the tongue click. >> In the end, Diana Chaudhari was charged with parental neglect. Still on dumb grandmas realizing that they're going to jail, meet Jane, an irrational woman who believed she could steal from a store and walk away scot-free. >> Have a seat. >> Thank you, please. >> I'm not going to say thank you, loser. >> Walking through the store, looking at stuff and everything, and at some points I walked away from my purse. Look at your cameras. I don't know how it got in there. >> On December the 17th, 2023, officers were sent out to WinCo Foods regarding a shoplifting occurrence involving an aged woman and two minors. Once the officers arrived, they wasted no time in reviewing the CCTV footage, and that alone set the pace for what might just become grandma's worst nightmare. >> Okay. Is it Do you have eyes on them still? >> I I did, but since the door I lost the female She had a She has a hopper box on her. >> She has a what? >> A health and beauty product, cheap. >> It's okay. It's okay. She has a >> I don't know if I can't find her right now. So, this is grandma. Oh, she wearing black? >> Yes. So, she had a box in her hoodie and either she just picked it up to conceal it in her pants right now, but then she has something else in her bag, but >> Is this grandma now? >> No, yeah, they've been concealing together. I don't know why they're separating all of a sudden. And there's another female, a smaller female for sure. >> So, would you You want the items back, obviously. >> Oh, hell yeah. >> Then you want them trespassed. >> Oh, most yeah. >> Okay. >> So, I can show you real quick, that way Who's grandma? >> Cuz they haven't passed points of sale yet. I'm going to Let's go make contact, and then uh you can chill here. >> Okay, so she has She has something in her bag, and then again she has a yellow box. I don't know where it is. It's health and beauty, cuz it's just me right now. >> Okay, so she has her own her but grandma has a [ __ ] ton of stuff in her purse and on top of her >> Okay. All right, cool. I'll try to bring it back over here. >> Hey, thank you. >> Yep. Cops went on to speak to Jane and from the moment she saw them her composure shifted and she immediately made a critical mistake [music] that sealed her fate for good. Hey ladies. Ladies, how you doing today? >> Okay. >> Hey, uh let's go ahead and bring all this. We're going to go down to the LP office. We're going to go have a little chat, okay? Cool? >> We're going to have a chat, why? >> Yeah, so right now um you're you're most likely concealing items right now that were shoplifted. So, let's just go have a talk down at the LP office so we don't have to make a talk out here, okay? >> Okay, but I think you're mistaken. >> Okay. Well, if I am then I am. So, let's go have a talk. >> Okay. >> So, go ahead and just follow me. >> What about all my groceries? >> Uh if hey, if it's a mistake we'll we'll we'll get some new ones, okay? Go right, go right. Go right. Ma'am, stop taking items out of the bag. Kind of a dumb move, right? We're going to go straight to customer service. Want to go ahead, popular? You can slow it down, ladies. We're going to go just follow this officer. All right. Sorry, I know it's kind of a tight squeeze in here. Close this for a second. Okay. Are you grandma? Ma'am? >> What? >> What's your name? Go just go ahead and put your hands behind your back for a second. >> Why? >> Ma'am, put your hands behind your back. >> Why? >> Cuz you're being detained for shoplifting, that's why. >> No, I'm not. >> Yes, you are. >> No, I'm not. No, I'm not. >> Relax. >> Let go of the purse. >> Relax. >> Let go of the purse. >> Do it. Let go of the purse. Stop fighting with us. Do it. Stop fighting. Do it, Beth. Do it now. Let go of the purse. Do it now. >> No. Whatever you keep telling me to do. Here. Put your arm up. Yeah. >> Now. You have to drop everything you have for the tape. Do it, Beth. >> You need another one? >> Don't touch my bag. >> You're You're being detained. >> I didn't touch you. You're saying some dumb [ __ ] >> You're saying dumb [ __ ] >> Listen, you have three officers and you're fighting. >> You're hurting my arm. >> And you're resisting against us. >> Bring it back now or I'm going to throw you on the ground. What an idiot move. Going to turn around? >> I have another gun on here. I need to know where she's at. >> Well, we'll figure that out after this. >> Yeah, but I need to know where she's at. >> After this. >> You have to be safe. >> After this. We're going to have to detain you. >> Jane believes that resistance would secure her freedom. However, it failed immediately, leaving her with one goal: to escape from the cuffs using any narrative that she could concoct. >> Set an example for this young lady. Have a seat. Have a seat. >> Say please. >> I'm not going to say please to you. You disrespected us by trying to resist arrest, okay? Excuse me, detainee. >> [laughter] >> This is the other one. >> This is This is This >> Are they got a young one right there? >> Yeah, they have a minor minor. >> Hey, Pablo, can you >> Are they out with him? >> Can you take a look at him? Can you just go grab him? >> She's in the pet aisle, which is aisle Do you have an associate with him? Was she involved or she's just a little >> No, she's just walking around, but I mean, if you want to bring her in, I'm just >> She's in Crocs, black shirt. >> You walk out of the store, make a right, go down that center aisle over here. >> I was just going to like talk and stuff like that, but I figured again, if she's stealing with her children or minors or whatever, you know, it's going to be problematic anyway. >> Well, did you get scared of the BuzzBall? You don't want the BuzzBall no more? >> They're talking to you. >> You you >> I didn't. >> What's up, sergeant? >> Go right here. >> You didn't want the BuzzBall no more? >> I said I didn't take no >> Well, they're going to talk to you. >> All right. What's your name? What was that? >> Oh, I forgot. She took the booze. My bad, I made a mistake. >> Okay, let me get your bag over here, okay? >> What the hell, Ben? >> I'm so sorry. >> It's not personal. It's just you just >> If you don't understand >> She took all the hard stuff. >> I did not know that. >> You did it right next to you. >> I did not know that though. >> I'll show you. >> I was walking through the store myself trying to get groceries. >> But, whoever this is, your grandmother, I believe is right. >> for having that stuff in my purse. >> She just kind of wrapped things up for a second, okay? So, I'm just trying to get the full story here. >> But like alcohol or anything >> She was. >> I wasn't aware of it. >> She was right behind you when you >> But I wasn't aware of it. I didn't see her do it. >> All right, go ahead and talk to us, okay? Just just real quick, let me let me bring this. >> Is there any way we can separate the two now here with her back to the cameras? >> Yeah, I can She can talk. You can separate her. Okay. >> Just so we can clearly speak with her cuz it's She's talk The grandma's talking, she's talking. >> Yeah, we're okay. >> All right, let's >> You You have him as a grandson, she's >> She has a disability. >> Okay. >> I don't want her to get really get freaked out. >> No, the officer is with with her right now and she's fine. Come on back. >> That first chair is fine. >> Okay. >> Just cuz we have so much talking going on. >> Yeah. >> I don't blame you. I would be I had no clue. Did my partner get your name by chance? Okay, what's your name? >> Before you ask your question, do you understand this right? Okay. >> Now, at this point you don't have a choice. So, like we told you you're detained for the crime of the shoplifting, concealment, then you resisted with us and tried to grab the bag. So, what is your name, ma'am? You have to legally give it to me at this point. Or I will charge you and >> And if you hinder our investigation, I'm just going to add an additional charge to your the charges you already have. Yes? >> No, it's Jane. >> Jane? >> Jane. >> Jane? >> What's your last name? >> Um we're going to finish the investigation and depending on if anyone else can pick up especially the little one, you're going to go down to our booking facility and get processed for shoplifting. >> All of us? >> Yes or no? >> Even the little one? >> Not her, unless she was shoplifting. >> No, we're we're going to have somebody come pick her up. What do you have at home that they could pick up? Possibility exists that your kids may be >> Probably her mother. >> Let's call her mother. What's her mother's name and number? >> Okay. >> So, which purse was yours, ma'am? >> Mary Beth. >> The blue one. >> The blue one. And this was all in the blue purse, correct? >> As far as I know. How did this get into the your purse? I I really don't know. >> To be honest, you made it worse for yourself when you resisted and did not just relax your arms so we could put the handcuffs on. When you grabbed the purse and you resisted the whole time with us, that made it way worse for you. We were just going to put you in handcuffs to detain you just like this, nice and easy. So, most people if they're innocent, they're like, "Cool, fine. Handcuff me. we have the wrong person, we release them, right? Someone who feels guilty, they fight with us. Or someone who's dealt with this in the past who has negative connotations. >> I have never had anything like this happen to me. And I I'm telling you, I don't know how that got in there. >> Okay. >> I was going to the store shopping. I have a cart full of food to buy. >> Okay. >> Jane was supposed to be the protective kind, the grandmother who shields her grandkids from harm, but her conduct was telling another story entirely. >> They came up to me and said that we had to come in here because there was a possibility of some shoplifting going on. >> Mhm. >> I didn't know. I was walking to the store looking at stuff and everything, and at some points I walked away from my purse. Look at your cameras. I don't know how it got in there. >> Okay. And was your purse in that little seat area the whole time or was it somewhere else? >> the little seat area, yes. >> Okay. How long would you say that you lost visual of your purse at your whole time? >> I don't know. I I was looking at stuff trying to see check prices and and and figure out what I was going to get. And probably at some points it might have been for a little while. But >> What were you >> That's That's what they're by my purse, so I don't know. >> Okay. Okay. >> I mean, technically it's just dummy stuff. Except for what she was doing. I had no clue she was stealing alcohol. I don't even know what that [ __ ] is. Like I said, I don't drink. >> Okay. Did you see her at any point put stuff in her purse? >> I did not. >> It sounds like when they were trying to detain you, you were saying just do it, just do it. What were you referring to? >> Just do it. >> The store? >> I don't remember. >> Do it now, do it now? Are you saying something like do it now, do it now? >> Yes. >> What were you telling her when we were putting handcuffs on you? And we kept telling you no, don't do it. >> What will happen most likely is that >> What was I telling her? I don't even remember. I really don't. >> Was it in reference to going to the car? >> No. >> Cuz I was mentioned. >> That's what she said, but I'm like, "No, what are you talking about?" Go to the car for what? >> Was it in reference to grabbing the purse in the car from my hands? >> No. >> Okay. Do you understand how this isn't really adding up to us when we have video evidence and then you're resisting arrest with us to detain you for a shoplifting? For concealment? >> Video evidence of what? >> Shoplifting. No, that was in here. Shoplifting is also considered concealment, not just all pats points of sale. >> Do you have video surveillance that I was shoplifting? >> Yes, that's why we got a call here. That's why we got called here, yes. I'm not lying to you. I wouldn't lie to you about that. Okay. >> And have you ever been caught shoplifting in a Winn-Dixie before? >> No, never. >> Can I have your last name? >> In the end, Jane and her 16-year-old granddaughter were charged with shoplifting. While Jane faced an additional charge of resisting arrest. In the next case, we have Barbara, an aged woman who was already heavily intoxicated, but still tried to buy more alcohol before driving off. >> I'm just trying to stop her from driving. >> Okay. What's so what's going on? >> She's drunk. >> Hang out over there for me. >> At what is your problem? >> Stop. Sit down. >> your problem, you Why don't you shut up? You don't have a [ __ ] badge on you, [ __ ] You've got one. Let me see that [ __ ] badge. Why are you so angry? Why did You said Why did you not say so? >> On February the 19th, 2025, officers were dispatched [music] to a Winn-Dixie after concerned bystanders spotted a woman who was so intoxicated she could barely stand, yet still tried to buy more alcohol and drive off. At that moment, a crazy drunk granny Karen was on the loose and the cops needed to find her before she did anything disastrous. >> Hello. Okay. >> I'm just trying to stop her from driving. >> Okay. What's so what's going on? >> She's drunk. >> Okay. >> She's always drunk. >> Okay. >> She's up here. She's drunk. She's got better part of two quarts of wine in there. She's up here getting more. >> Okay. >> I followed her up. So I'll give you a ride back. She won't hear any part of it. And these guys can testify that it's been pretty embarrassing. >> Okay. And that's her their neighbor. >> Yeah, I know. That I just met >> nothing to do with it. Just hang her out over there for >> that I just met a minute ago. Same with him. I came up to save the >> grab your IDs for me? >> Yes. >> All right. And that's her purse. >> Yeah. >> Awesome. Can I take that, please? >> I don't know. She's got an ID in there somewhere. >> That's okay. Don't worry about it. I'll go through it. >> All right. >> You need mine? I'll just stay over here. >> Please. Yeah, there's the four people right there. >> While the officer was still trying to piece the situation together, Barbara came out swinging, literally and verbally announcing herself louder than anyone ever needed. Years of unchecked entitlement finally grabbed the throttle and took the whole encounter off the rails. >> Hang out over there for me. >> What is your problem? >> Stop. Sit down. >> your problem, you [ __ ] fat >> Stop. Just stop. >> Why don't you shut up? You don't have a [ __ ] badge on you, >> Go sit in your car. >> You don't have a [ __ ] You don't have a [ __ ] >> Go sit in your car. I don't care. But when the police arrived, they were not prepared for this kind of defiance. >> I had to check on the smoke down here. Okay, everything okay? What's going on down here?
