I'm Deputy slope I work for the Sheriff's Office reason I stopped you is for a criminal amount of speed okay and you're not wearing your seat belt okay and your license plate was flapping in the wind and your registrations expired so all of all of those so initial stop was for 77 and a 50 so criminal speed the whole pulling over sequence instead of pulling to the right which is easy and legal and safe here we pulled to the left now we're stopped literally in the middle of the road there's no insurance for the vehicle whatsoever I get issued an identification card um his license is suspended and along with his license being suspended he also has a outstanding warrant from panau County for uh reckless driving so overall bad driving history of bad driving um everything I've seen today has been terrible and that's probably why his license is suspended and he also has a warrant obviously you know your license is suspended because you have a you have an ID card um and your plates are suspended because you don't have insurance you don't have insurance and your registrations expired and all that so hop on out for me Sam and I did episodes one to episodes 112 together uh some of you know Sam's no longer with the panel count Sheriff's Office he's moved on to the private sector doing doing Sam things um I am still with the sheriff's office we're still videoing Fridays with Frank the sheriff's office just hired someone to take Sam's Place but out of those first 112 episodes the episode with the teenage driver and the pregnant passenger and this episode are two of Sam's favorites and um you can see why why am I why am I what's going on well I'm going to tow your car why well you no longer have the privilege to drive so you can't drive so I can have some I can just have my mom come and pick it up like that is absolutely a possibility step on out are you serious I I'm already were late for work like why are you telling it I could tell that you were late for work because you're 27 mph over the speed limit okay but also why so I've asked you twice really nicely leave your bag in there cuz I don't you don't have to take that I need my bag yes I do leave your bag in there unbel just put it down and get out of the car now put your hands behind the your back because you're under arrest you can't do that he didn't just say I was R sir you can't excuse me relax relax man relax relax relax relax here we go take that grab that there we go so much what do you mean so you also have an outstanding warrant from the last time that you arrested for criminal speed okay so why wouldn't you start with that you don't tell someone you're I'm towing your car get out of the car and then you get them out the car and you say I am going I am going to tow your car because you're you no longer have the privilege to drive this is crazy I'll grab that yep there we go step step one up over here just so you can grab that crazy okay here we go step one up over here something that belongs to me I'm you to put it in my car we're going to take it all with you because you're being booked into jail and all that stuff's going to come along with you pH we have it I'll get it I'll get it relax relax do you have anything on you that would be considered a weapon anything that's sharp or anything like that okay unbelievable put the camera down well here we go weird irritate the out of me like I call the subject that's in the vehicle he because on his driver's license it says he um how he may identify may have been different that is that's not for me to determine um but the reactions to him and seeing Sam and the video camera and all of that um really made for a for a good episode it's it's one of the reasons that this is Sam's favorite is just everything between the bad driving and the weird reaction and um Sam being called a weirdo uh which was the first time that's ever happened um that's that's kind of what makes this one of one of the best best ones what the what side would you like up here sitting there all right hold on a second put this there we go it's for your safy is so un i s I'm sorry it's a it's a warrant it's an order from a judge hly just I don't want to talk to you but you need to get my phone there's a pink thing that you dropped and thank you so much along with the personal property of a purse and a phone which they apparently wanted um looks like there's also some maybe some THC stuff in here um so maybe there's some something that drug induced which would be the reaction for that weird reaction that happened there so uh we'll take the purse vehicle's obviously going to be impounded um and then we're going to go back to the substation deal with uh the DUI possible charge we'll look at some impairment there um and then obviously all the criminal stuff between the warrant the driving unsuspended the criminal speed suspended license plate all of this all the entire I don't know if you could realize it here but we are we are in the intersection like the double yellow line is right here so we we came to a stop we came to a stop here in the middle of an intersection instead of pulling to the right anywhere where it's good so all sorts of impairment here there's a ton of weed in there and I didn't mirandize him and that's because I don't have to um the totality of all of the evidence for this case comes from my personal observations I don't need any sort of of um you know confession from him or really what he says is totally inconsequential um so as I'm talking to him I'm just talking to him telling him what's going on um but it really doesn't it's not like that the case isn't going to go away because I didn't mirandize him I just I don't I'm not looking for a Back in Forth it was just me conveying information and having a conversation um so if you're wondering why I didn't mirandize them until I got back to the office um when I really began to ask him questions about a crime that I believed he committed um that's why that didn't happen is it just the timeliness just wasn't there obviously there marijuana and THC vape and alcohol so there's a little bit of everything in there okay why can't I just have someone come and pick it up why do you have two tokens well it is a crime to drive when you know that you're suspended and you know you're suspended because you have an ID card so you are committing a crime then you're committing another crime by driving at a criminal amount of speed and then since there's so much Mar in there I would be well and all the THC the liquid THC so I would be remiss in not at least looking at you for impairment for ingesting all of that so which an impairment for that could cause your perception of driving 72 mil or 77 miles hour I do I get I I completely understand the internet questions as to why I tow some vehicles and why I don't tow others this vehicle was towed in impound very specifically because he was under arrest for ultimately for DUI and then his license was knowingly suspended that means that it's aggravated DUI in the state of Arizona aggravated DUI Falls with under the mandatory impounding requirements so because of that was the reason that this vehicle went to car jail and then he went to regular jail so he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest so after I processed him for DUI he was booked into jail for his outstanding warrant um the DUI is a whole another case that went to the court I just got a ticket the other day for going 120 mph so I'm headed to the D you have substantially slowed down I think I only got you at like 73 I I was just slowing down too oh my God what were you you're doing 73 what were you slowing down from I didn't even think about it I saw I was doing in the 70s that's why I backed off of it man I knew it was you though I yeah I don't have my endorsement I'm headed there right now to take the test again everyone says that like just a couple blocks from here I'll turn around and take this home and walk back to the DMV I get that you're trying to do things right you just can't quite figure it out so I'm going to give you I'm going to give you a couple breaks okay I'm not going to sight you for criminal speed thank God okay I'm also just going to give you a regular speeding ticket and not having obviously you need a mo you need a a permit man yeah look at that tinted windshield Hugh he's lucky I'm here with you man be chasing that guy down the road no I'm just kidding line up for tickets man I got plenty of them they give me they give me paper and rolls but I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you're trying to do things right I am you also need to get a motorcycle endorsement I mean if failed yesterday I'm headed back today to do it again and tomorrow until I get it um I like that okay I like some tenacity questions I can answer you right now am I going to be on Tik Tok you never know don't do it you are now you you might be I don't I don't get very many people I just got stopped the other day for criminal speed and then doing another criminal speed now and you know what funny is is I was testing this bike for repair the other day and that's why I was up so high on speed and it was just that one and so so you're testing it for repair yeah well what if something went wrong at 120 and uh I was coming back from the repair oh so the first part yeah I was like that's I feel like that's how you die yeah yeah that is that how you die all right any questions before I kick you loose no dude nice to meet you everything work for the panal county sheriff's office Traffic Unit reason I stopped is I locked you in at 74 speed limit on this road is 50 so you're 24 over that was for me yeah know D it what do you mean you know yeah they they HP when they catch you know you catch bad guys that's the other man I I could always tell where I sto someone from what uh lives in a state that doesn't like guns cuz hands come out the window like so I appreciate it man it's very it's very cool of you right all right what's your what's your current oh what's that is that the last ticket you got who gave you that one who gave you that one um I forgot his name officer he got for the same thing uh oh this is City Maricopa yeah uh man he was super nice he wrote you for waste of finite resources I describe waste of finite resources as like a diet speeding ticket so it's still um it's a citation at here in Arizona um as long as you're in an area that's posted as 35 M an hour or above um and you're outside of a uh like a congested area you could write waste of fite resources what it means is that it is you can't go to driving school for it so it doesn't count as a moving violation um it's decreased fines there's no points on your life license and if you get charged with waste of finite resources and you get stopped for an actual speeding ticket it's still makes you eligible for driving school so there's a lot of situations especially with people that have never been stopped uh in panau county for speeding before um I I use that citation a lot um it's I just I feel like it cuts people a pretty big break since this was his second stop I didn't go with that and I went with a regular speeding ticket so he um had a little bit more to pay on that actually was he was a real cool cat he's a cool dude man I know I know that guy I mean you were doing 72 that day yeah you got to learn it you don't have a learning curve you have a learning Plateau no I I what I do is I follow the flow of traffic and I get busted for that where's another ticket where's who got you this one man you're collecting these you're going to be able to trade these tickets in for a bike one day regular old speeding ticket all right
