So when we when we were in there, you you had your hand in the kid's pants. Did you stuff something in his in his pants? >> Keep moving. Your child's going to be all right. We decided to come in. Your child is now in our custody. >> Karen's and poor decisions are inseparable. But nothing is as ridiculous as seeing one take their kids as a tagalong during a shoplifting spree. >> If they knew, I'd be honest with you, but they didn't know. >> Felonious activity with your children present. >> Okay. having them assist you in picking items to put them in the No, no, I watched that video. These Karens decided that it was a super splendid idea to take their kids shoplifting. Meet this woman who thought her little one was a getaway ticket after she was caught shoplifting. Ma'am, you got some >> and I have AIDS and I'm a pregnant woman and I have told you. >> On April the 27th, [music] 2024, officers with the Kent Police Department responded to a call from a Safeway store about a shoplifting that was already in progress. They arrived just in time to catch an awful mother stealing without a single care in the world, while a little one stayed right there with her throughout the entire situation. Ma'am, stop. >> Oh my god. What are you doing? >> No. Give me my >> let me go. We'll take a six king and we'll >> serious >> just to let you know. >> I got it. Do you have any weapons on you that I need to know about? >> No, I'm not going to jail. >> Okay. >> I can't breathe. >> Why not? Consequence of your actions hurt. Is that what it is? >> Appreciate it. Okay. >> Okay. We're going to take a seat in my car. What are you doing? What are you doing? You're still going to sit in my car. I don't This act I don't really care for. So, okay, cool. No. >> Okay. Sit in the car. Swing your feet into the car. >> Okay. >> No. Swing your feet into the car. >> I need an ambulance. >> For what? Get up and get into the car. >> Yeah. >> I need an ambulance. >> For what? >> I need my son. Where's my son? >> All right. Come on. Got him when he was. >> You can't touch me like this. >> Trying to put you in the car, man. >> I need an ambulance. >> I need an ambulance. >> Stop. Stop. >> You can't touch me like that. >> Stop. >> You cannot touch me like that. >> Stop. >> I need an ambulance now. I need am >> for what? You haven't told me anything. >> Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can't be used against you in a court of law. You have the right. It's time to talk to a lawyer and have a presidency be in question. >> Do you understand your rights? >> Fantastic. So just a shop lifts my car. >> Nick, anything else I should know about? >> She was So she was when you rolled up, she was trying to push her up. >> Push push everything else with her kid in the stroller still trying to leave the store. >> Yeah. Where's the kid now? Uh some passerby is like she was pushing it, knocks it over, he like falls out of the stroller. >> The kid fell out of the stroller. >> Passerby is going to grab him so he doesn't actually like hit the ground or anything. >> Okay. How is this kid? >> I think he's probably only a couple years old. >> All right. So, are we taking this kid? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yeah. >> You want me to go get a car seat right now? >> Yeah. >> It was clear as day that she cared less about her little one, but the officers kept her detained for the moment while they scanned the area and tried to piece together exactly what they were walking into. Um, I just seen the baby like getting tipped and like thrashed around in the stroller >> by the mother. Good >> job, buddy. To help. >> They were trying to stop the shoplifter is what it was. >> What was she taking? >> Oh, there was a whole car. Okay. >> That whole thing. >> Okay. >> So, do you guys need a receipt for this? Yes, please. Yeah. I'm going to take some photos real quick. >> Okay. You want me to flip it over so you can get everything? >> No, you're all, man. >> I tried to diffuse the situation because I saw the baby. He wasn't crying or anything. Didn't seem distressed, but I >> I have five kids. My youngest is two. So, when I saw him getting thrashed around, he was this close to hitting his head on the pole a couple of times. So, I I I intervened and I tried to diffuse it and I said, "Hey, you know, I'll buy this stuff. you know, just, you know, and then I asked, um, well, she had a couple of bags with her that she claimed were hers when she came into the store. They maintained that she put items from Safeway in there. I'm sure I'm sure it's true. I'm sure >> snacky snack, dude. >> She seems uh she seemed very um >> very upset. So, >> so they were accusing her and then and then and then in the process they were like, "Hey, don't leave. She's holding on to the >> Yes. And they're holding on to the shopping bags. Yeah. He's He's like just a like he's attached attached to them. She was like little >> I don't intervene in other people's business. It's not my business. But I I have to say something. There wasn't a moment where her hand wasn't on the stroller and she wasn't trying to get away from the security guards that he wasn't being thrashed or being neglected. As far as >> Did she ever anything that he was saying? >> Um no. I start anything about kiddo label. >> Yeah. Don't touch my son. Uh give me my son back. She almost knocked his shoulder off over over there. Uh trying to steal the bags again. Um and then over here she knocked him over. Absolut like all the way over. And the guy the black guy that just walked outside, he actually caught him before he hit the floor. >> Can I just kind of get your account what you saw what happened? >> All right. So >> I was upstairs watching her from the catwalk with the camera and >> you told me >> intentionally he told me she came in with bags that were empty but from what I saw there was they had full observation of her and from what I saw she came through the aisles. She didn't even stop at checkout. She just went right through and just try to go. So we told her just give us some stuff back. So, I was just trying to think. I was just thinking about the kid. You understand? I told just go. And she said she wasn't want to go and was just flying everywhere >> and I just right where you guys came. That's why I grabbed the kid. So, from falling on the floor, scratching his face on my face. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Technically, >> I got kids on my own. So, >> yeah. You I as I pulled that man, you literally caught the kid. >> Yeah. It was that was the kid fall. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. So, >> but yeah, that's she did we did have all our elements. >> So, yeah, you saw a selection. Yeah. Everything started to >> when she started to push you out like was she using her kid as like a as like >> like a like I get what you mean. >> Not really. She did it at the end and I was tell I told her I was I'll help you with the stroller. Just go just go let's get the stuff back cuz you don't want it to be taken. She said she don't give a she needs it. Uhuh. She said she kept saying she came with the bags which she didn't. And I'm telling her like just go. And then she just started swinging the baby around in the stroller. So, I don't know. All I was caring about was a kid. That's it. >> From everything the officers had heard and everything that they had already experienced with her earlier, they returned to her fully aware that the encounter could go from bad to outright disaster. >> The second that we came out here, she started, "I'm passing now. I can't breathe." I was like, "Oh, you were fighting pretty good, though." So, that's funny. Still just acting. Okay. So, no, no use for except for just grabbing her. >> No. >> Okay. No, I mean swarming, I guess, >> technically, but um >> yeah, once I saw her like start to run out the door and then knock the kid down in the [ __ ] checking area. >> I got fire in route. Someone bring in a car seat. Uh we'll have to do the shot removal. >> She's under arrest for theft three and then >> Okay. >> Oh, I guess I'll just let her know. All right. So, right now you're under arrest for theft and obstruction. Okay. Uh, someone needs to stay here with her, though. >> Yeah, I'm staying here. >> All right. >> Hey, we're trying to figure out your your kid's name. What's your kid's name? Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. Talking to you. Hello. Fire is going to come check you out here shortly. What's your What's your kiddo's name? You don't want to talk to us? Okay. Is there any like child medical card in there? I'm going to try to fill out that child removal form. Yeah. She's not willing to talk. >> Before we do this, is there anyone else that can come get the chat? >> She's not willing to talk at all. I mean, you could try to talk to her. She's Before we go any further with stuff, you're That's your child, correct? >> Is that correct? >> King, >> ma'am, >> that's your child. Okay. Is there anyone else that can come get your child? >> Not that I know of. >> Not that you know of. Okay. Well, you are under arrest. So, what's going to happen is we're going to have to remove your child and contact CPS. >> Huh? >> If you don't have anyone that can come get your child, we're going to have to contact CPS. >> There's no door. >> Okay. >> Huh? My CPS working. >> Okay. Well, we we're going to reach out to CPS. >> What's that? >> What? >> I swallow my >> You're pregnant and you swallowed what? >> Huh? >> I do. >> You're pregnant and you swallowed what? >> Huh? for that. >> You need to talk louder. I can't hear you. >> I'm trying. >> Huh? >> What did you swallow? >> Huh? >> What? >> Can you swallow and you're pregnant? That's a smart thing to do. >> Well, it's hard because she didn't cuz she's lying cuz she knows. >> Yeah, that's her. >> Yeah. Yeah, this hurt. >> She seemed to have overestimated her own wits despite her sickly demeanor. The officers believed that she was only trying to dodge consequences. But with a personality that unhinged, they knew that they couldn't take anything about her for granted. >> He wants his toy. >> I think he's hungry. So try to run away. Reckless. Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. Reckless obstruction. >> Her myriad of warrants for aft 3 and 42. So that's fun. >> Um I guess in a previous call that she was also arrested for kid. >> And what happened with the kid? You're saying >> uh so during I've read the Tquila report briefly. It looks like uh last year the she was brought to Valley due to medical stuff with a shoplift incident. She had a son with her and medical staff thought that due to her mental state she wasn't fit to uh take care of the kids. So this is a prior CPS intake number that you might be able to give them. So that way they already have the names there instead of giving them all the names. It looks like they spelled the name differently in that report. Uh, and that's the report number here. Um, >> the child's name is different. >> Yeah, it's different than whatever paperwork you found. >> Okay. >> Um, so, uh, yeah. >> All right, ma'am. Uh, my name's Officer Hans. You're going to be going me to the hospital. Okay. >> Okay. >> Are you pregnant? I got there. >> Hold up. >> Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, you're hurting me. I'm pregnant. I'm hurting me. I'm pregnant. You're hurting me. >> Shut up. >> Why are you being like that? >> There's no reason for you to fall. >> I can't. I'm >> sit in the seat. Can you act like an adult, please? >> Hey, ma'am. I understand you don't feel well and that you're pregnant, so I don't want to rip you and pull you into this car, but I will. You need to we >> but you need to stand up and sit your butt down before I have to physically remove you. >> I'm trying. >> Okay. >> Put your feet on the roof and push yourself up. >> I'm trying. >> Okay. Would you like assistance? Cuz I will assist you. >> Good. Rotate your butt upwards. >> Sit up on your bottom. There you go. Stay right there. >> You need to stay leaning up. We're going to the hospital right this second. >> There you go. >> Holy crap. >> Oh no. Real quick. >> Hey Tanya, this uh this just going to go with your property. We're moving your kiddo. >> Yeah, my kiddo. Where are you going? We're we're you're going to the hospital, >> but your kiddo is going to be going with CPS. All right. >> You're probably going to be good. >> Okay. >> Is this going to go with her property? >> Uh I got everything. I'm going to take kiddo back to the home. >> I have her uh bag. I'll enter that. >> The officers moved her to the hospital. And while she might have thought that she was working an angle on them, there was no escaping the inevitable. Yes, you're going to the hospital. >> Hey, Tanya. So, we're here at the hospital and look, we're at the hospital. I'm not here playing any games with you. So, don't do any of that bull you've been doing. You're going to walk in the hospital. You're not right. I get it. You need help. We're going to get you help. Come on. >> If you be cool with me, I'm going to be cool with you. Let me close my door. >> What was that? >> My son. >> Your son? >> Yeah. >> He's safe. He's with us. Uh, I don't know what they're going to do if they're going to do CPS or not, but we're getting them to see if one place the same. >> You're breaking the law right now. >> I can't breathe. >> Hey, were you able to prank your car? >> I can't breathe. That's hurting my stomach. >> You have to get this eye on me. It's hurting my stomach. I'm pregnant. >> I have lice and I have AIDS and I'm a pregnant woman and I have told you this is pressing my stomach. I don't care. It's pressuring my stomach. You have to get off my stomach. I'm a pregnant woman. >> I know. I am a pregnant woman and you have to get this off of my stomach. >> I have life and I'm AIDS. Did you tell the hospital that? Did you tell the girl that I'm a pregnant woman? And this is wrong for you guys to treat me like this. And I asked for a kid to get done and you did not give me one. That is illegal. He didn't even read me my rander rights. And neither have you guys. That is illegal. >> You want your murder right? You have the right to rem say you. >> It's too late. It's still a lawsuit. >> I have time to call your lawyer have res. >> I have asked for my lawyer this entire time. >> Hire a lawyer. >> I already have one and I've asked to call him this whole time and he hasn't let me use the phone. >> And you decide any time to exercise his rights to not answer any questions or make any statements >> and he hasn't let me. >> Did you understand any of that? >> Yeah. Did you understand that it's illegal for him to not give me a ration when I've been asking for one the whole time I've been here? >> Wait. So it's it's Tanya. Yeah. >> I have been asking for >> and I I'm pregnant. This is testing on my stomach. >> I'm not going to talk about until there's an advocate here with me. >> All right. Well, an advocate's not coming here. >> Obviously, I'm not getting it done. >> An advocate can meet you at the jail. >> Okay, that's fine. >> It needs to get done in the future and then need to get done. >> No, it needs to get done right now. >> Does not need to get done right now. >> Yes, it does. >> It has to get done within the first 48 hours. What are you talking about? That's probably why we need to ask answer those questions on where >> she didn't ever ask me those questions. >> Because he never read me my Miranda rightites for one and particularly >> I'm a pregnant woman and I need you to get this off of my stomach. >> Okay. And you guys have a huge lawsuit on your hands just so >> and I have to use the bathroom and you cannot carry me into the jail like this with my whole >> legs first. >> You have to get me out of this. It's hurting my stomach. It's hurting my stomach. >> No, it's hurting my stomach and I'm pregnant. Stop. You're hurting me. I have to use the bathroom. I have to use the bathroom. >> I'm going to have piss all over this back seat. I have to use the bathroom. I have to. I've been asking to use the bathroom the whole time. I'm pregnant. You're pressing on my stomach. What am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to do? You are refusing me to get a And you're refusing to give me a kit. What is wrong with you? I am a pregnant woman and I'm about to pick all over the place of myself. >> You don't want to do that. >> I told you. 2 hours ago. What is wrong with you? This is unlawful. And this is unlawful. I told you I had to use the bathroom. And I told you that I couldn't breathe. >> I am a pregnant woman. You cannot get in jail like this. >> This is a lawsuit. This is a huge lawsuit. In the end, she was charged with theft, neglect, obstructing official business, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a controlled substance. While being treated at the hospital, officers discovered that she had been concealing two pills and a bag of powder identified as and she even ingested the pills while still under medical care. Her little one was found to be uninjured, thankfully, and taken into protective custody by child protective services. The Last Woman was an awful excuse of a mother, just like Sandra Lopez, whose 22nd shoplifting scheme at the same store ended with her being arrested in front of her kids. >> That's it. I didn't get it. >> Okay. >> I'm willing to pay for it. >> Okay. Um, where are your kids now? >> We do have prior on her. This is our case. We have about 21 incidents for around $650. On October the 22nd, 2024, an officer with the Middletown Township Police Department responded to a store where an unrepentant repeat shoplifter had once again greedily taken merchandise and refused to pay for it. The officer entered the asset protection office and the details being shared were shocking enough to leave Jaws on the floor. >> How's it going? How are we doing? >> Good. >> Hi, how are you? >> Good. How are you? >> Seat on this side. Just some stuff was tucked under her purse in her cart. She just never made an attempt to scan this and stuff. Okay, these are the items here. Three items, a book, shorts, and a water bottle. We do have prior on her. This is our case. We have about 21 incidents for around $650, but we can file on that separately. >> Okay. That's just what we got her for today. Got it. >> Okay. Do we have an on or? >> Yeah, she's saved all the video. She'll send that over to you. >> Perfect. Can I take a look at it now? >> Hey. Okay. Not ready to import right now. Okay. >> Okay. >> Do you still have your kids with you or are they >> Yes, I have kids with me. I forgot to pay for that. That was here. That was here. My daughter was taking stuff out of the car. I forgot to pay for that. >> 313 County. Uh, child and parent has been reunited. You may be scene transaction here. >> First thing is for this. >> That's all good. So, right now there's a book under this purse and there's a water bottle under that. And the shorts are right here. >> Okay. >> I forgot to pay for them. >> They scan the food. Everything else is good. Mouthwash is good. Book is still under there. Bottle is still in there. >> Bag the water bottle right there. That's not scanned yet. Staff walk. Daughter goes out first. Son goes out. That's not right there. Okay. >> Where are your kids right now? >> My kids outside. >> Okay. Are they Do they have like the car or >> No, my daughter has my granddaughter. She don't She don't drive. >> Does your son drive? >> My son came in his own car. >> Okay. >> Those pants were right here. >> Okay. >> My daughter was putting stuff in the scanning the stuff. the book threw up under under my purse. I forgot to pay for it. That's it. I didn't ski it. >> Okay. >> I'm willing to pay for it. >> Okay. Um, where are your kids now? >> They're outside. >> They're in the car waiting or where? >> I would think. I don't know. They outside. >> Okay. How old are your kids? >> My granddaughter is 3 years old. >> Okay. How about the the other kids that are with them? >> My daughter is 26. You don't drive. So, >> okay. And how about your your son? >> My son is outside. He came his own car. >> Okay. How old is he? >> He's 21. Okay. Can you call um one of them and let them know? Um we're probably we're going to be taking you in. >> We're going to we're going to be, you know, bringing you down headquarters. Okay. I'm giving you the chance to let them know so you can kind of figure stuff out with the kids >> because I forgot to pay for that. >> Well, I I'm I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. It's It's clear as day on video, so I'm not going to argue with it. So, I'm giving you the chance to talk to your kids to figure out a situ so you can let them know, and then we're going to be on our way. What's the other? >> Uh, it's pants, water, pants, water bottle, and uh, looks like a total like 70 bucks. Yeah. Come in. Come over here. Um, so send Elliot. >> Is Elliot your oldest? >> No, he's my youngest. >> I just spoke to somebody in the hallway. >> Yeah. >> Elliot. >> Yeah. >> Okay. He's just uh You want to give him something? >> He's out there. >> Yeah. The officer's polite approach soon led him to break news that barely seemed to surprise anyone, hinting that they may have already known what was going on, or worse, that this might not have been the first time something like this had happened and that they were used to it. >> Hey, how you doing, man? Most champs from Middletown. Okay, you know, I'm recording. All right. Um, so your mom in there, uh, I guess she put like a water bottle in there, didn't want to pay for it, [music] and a pair of pants, tried to walk out with it. So, did shoplifting. It is what it is. Um, you don't know if your mom has like prior incidents or anything like that with police? Nothing like that? >> Yeah. No. >> No. Okay. >> Okay. So, I mean, as long as she doesn't have any other instances or anything like that, she'll be summoned out and she'll be released. So, we just Yeah. >> No. No. Well, no, we got to bring her to headquarters. She's going to be fingerprinted, photographed, all that stuff. [music] But, as long as everything else is fine and, you know, because the way it works in in in uh New Jersey is it goes off against um her prior stuff. Okay. >> So, as long as she doesn't have any prior things that are going to jam her up, she shouldn't be going to like county jail or nothing like that. She's just going to be getting released. >> And what is this? Uh Middletown? [music] >> Yes, Middletown. >> So, Middletown >> uh Middletown uh Township Police Department. So, it's right down the road. One Kings Highway. It's like right up 35. >> All right. Her car is in the handicap spandic or Okay, that's fine. Um I know she said that you're also with I guess your sister and her and her daughter. >> Okay. Are you guys okay to like are you good to drive them? Are you good with that? >> I have my own car, too. >> Okay. So, they're going to hop in with you. Is that okay? Yeah. >> And where you're going to pick your mom up from? >> Just recently. >> Okay. It's going to be a little bit. I'm not going to guarantee that it's going to be fast. Are you guys from here or No, >> not originally, but we live in Kingsburg. >> Kingsburg. Okay. [music] Um, yeah. I I don't know if you guys want to go home. I can take a number for you and let you know when we're done. >> All right. >> So, was it the store that you would want to pay for it afterwards or? >> Yeah. I I mean, it's that it's that and also, you know, I already observed it on on camera and stuff like that. So that's kind of what it is. >> Camera and watch what you have and what you do. >> Well, we can go to courts and file. I don't want to jam you guys up with a bunch of paperwork. We can go file that on our own. >> Yeah, >> it would take us like an hour to get all together and email it all at once, too. We have it all saved already. All the narratives and receipts for all the incidents, we have it all saved. So, just say the word. We'll include it in the email. >> Yeah, we're we're probably going to have to take a look at it. >> Yeah. >> The one obviously incident today, it was like for 70 bucks, but then they're uh they're talking [music] about that they were uh they also have like I guess 21 other priors with her and stuff like that and and they're talking about going to file at the courts. Is that something I should include now or is that okay for them to file? >> [music] >> Okay. So, [music] should I just do the one incident now and have them file at a different date or or should I Okay. Apparently, they have they have video of all the all the incidences separately. Yeah. Like 21 of them. He said it's going to take an hour to get them all together and stuff. >> Yeah. >> Right. >> Well, no. So, they're actually not even they're not even juveniles. They're like It was like a 21-year-old and a 26-year-old. They they already talked to them. They're already going back home. They had like a three-year-old child with them, but they're already headed back home. >> Yeah. Nah, kids aren't an issue. Hold on. The phone conversation had already sealed her fate. And with 21 prior shoplifting cases attached to her name, it was obvious that this was far more than a simple patent. Seeking self-imposed discounts had practically become second nature. >> Hey. Um, so we're going to we're going to get her on this for now. >> Okay. >> Um, and then we'll worry about that at a later date. We'll file that. Um, and then I mean we'll have her information, everything. So if anything, we can always scoop her up, right? Who's the cool Figuroa she gave [snorts] you? I don't know if that's the name you guys figuroa. >> I haven't taken anything from her yet. I haven't even spoken to her. So, um, >> do you guys have a statement ready for me or do you need a statement? >> I I can get for >> Yeah. What's your first name again? Garrett, right? Garrett here last name. >> Shine. S H I N E. >> All right. The request has been cleared. Yes, sir. >> So, your your kids are going back home. I told them um whenever we're finished up, I'll give them a call. Um cuz like I told them, I mean, as long as you don't have any like prior or anything like that, way it works in New Jersey, it goes off of a number. So, you know, this offense will get paired with anything else you have and it spits out a number of, you know, what if they think you should go to county jail or not. So, as long as you know that number's low, it's out of six, you'll be summoned out and you'll be released by today. So, >> I don't have a problem. >> Okay. So, then, you know, we should it should be a quick process. Um, as far as these other offenses that they're talking about, um, that's something we're going to file at a later date. So, that may be also something else that may be coming in the future. >> One time they did stop me. I checked my receipt. my receipt was fine. >> Okay, that's fine. Like I said, that's something we're going to >> stop that month ago. >> Okay, that's fine. That's something we'll we'll figure out at a later date. But for now, um we got this. So, >> we have photographing process this. >> Why' you shoot underground? >> She doesn't want to photograph. >> No, it's not I don't want to view. I cannot view. >> I And I and I do apologize, but unfortunately, you have to. It's just it is what it is. Um, unfortunately you committed a crime and and we have to be processed and fingerprinted, photographed, everything and then you'll be released. >> No, I didn't commit a crime. I forgot to pay for the dams. >> Okay. >> Thank you, sir. Appreciate it. >> All right. You want to hold these for me? >> All right. Are you going to stand up for me? You have that phone. >> Can I walk with you guys? >> Yeah, but I'm putting in handcuffs though. >> You have to. >> Sorry. It's It's >> I don't want to leave like this. >> I apologize. And then I'm sorry, but either that is what it is. >> Let me just grab your phone and throw it in your purse. >> Oh my god. >> All right. Just turn around for me. >> Thank you. Just don't put it. >> What's that? >> Oh, don't look. >> Okay. >> Okay. Hold on. >> All right. >> Can you put this down? >> Sure. You want me to cover your hands? >> Yes. >> Okay. That's all right. Is it purse in this bag? Is it the stuff you paid for? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. That I paid for all that. >> Okay. G just confirming that is all her stuff, right? She paid for that. >> Perfect. Okay. >> All right. Going out here. Go ahead. >> Thank you. >> What's that? >> I got it. But uh people have one, so that's the I don't miss. Her scheme had already gotten into far deeper trouble than she had anticipated. While this was clearly not her first rodeo, the officer remained polite and kept a close eye on her, knowing that he was dealing with someone who was far from a first time offender. >> Stand there for me. >> You don't have anything on you, right? I don't want to kind of want to bet you just put me in here, please. I'm just going to wrap this around your seat belt. Just lean back on. Sorry. >> Right there. Where we going? Halfway. >> What's it? >> Where we going? Halfway. >> No, this is Middletown. So, we're going Middletown. Yeah. >> All right. You good? >> All right. Uh, there's probably right there somewhere in the handicap. I don't know. My car is >> I'm going to ask right now. All right. Question for you. Your I know you said you have your license in your car, right? >> Where's your car? >> My son took my keys. >> Your son took your keys? >> Okay. Um, >> so you don't know who I am yet? >> No, I don't. Can we focus not to just >> Okay, we're going to figure out in a second, but I got to kind of identify who you are because if you're giving me fake names and everything else, it's going to be another charge and then that just increases the chances of you going out to county jail. >> So, we can make this very easy and you can give me your actual name. >> Oh, >> or you can get another charge and we can make this hard. >> So, I'm going to take my pen out, my p my pad, and I'm going to get your name and as long as it's the right name. >> Lopez. >> Sandra Lopez. That's your name? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Have you had any contact with any police in the area? >> What you mean? >> Like, have you had any police contact at all? >> At all? Like for anything? EMS calls? Anything? Okay. All right. We'll figure it out when we get down there. All right. >> What's uh What's your car? Which car do you have? What car do you have? >> That one over there. >> What's that one? Which one? Silver one. >> The black one over there. >> The black Honda. Can I call my son? >> Yeah, I'm going to call him right now. The black Honda. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you're you're you're for sure your driver's license is in there. >> Yeah. Call my son. Let's get it. >> Okay. I'll call him. Thank you. >> What? What you think? >> Your keys aren't in here. Or at least I don't see them. >> Okay. No, they're not in there. >> Where are they? >> Let me see. >> I'm I'm not uncover Can you give him my purse? My daughter. Give you give my daughter a purse and nothing is there. You could check in in my purse. >> This is your purse, is it not? >> Yeah, I'm saying. But where you want to keep my purse? Nothing is in there. >> You just said the keys are in here. >> I'm saying you don't want me to give my purse to my kids. >> I'm not giving you your the purse to your kids. Why? >> Cuz this is your personal belongings. It's going with you to headquarters. >> It don't matter. >> I I don't It doesn't matter to me. It's coming with you. >> Oh my god. >> So again, where are your keys? So then I can get your driver's license. Let me see if I might my my Can I Can you >> No, >> I'm not. Cuz you already been lying to me and all this other stuff and you're making this a lot harder than it need to be. All I'm trying to do is get your keys so I can get your license and we're going to leave. >> You're complaining that we haven't left yet and it's because you keep lying to me. >> Where are your keys? >> My keys are right there. >> Where is right there? >> Let me get my purse. Before I open my purse so I could check for my license. >> No, that's not my keys. >> Okay. So, where are your keys? Can I get my >> I'm not cuffing you. >> Can you pull my daughter again? >> No, I'm not giving anybody your me. >> Okay, sounds perfect. Look at that. Was that hard? What are you trying to hide for? >> I'm not trying to hide in my car. I took it out the other day. >> Okay, thank you. >> Updates on her charges remain unknown at the time of this video being compiled, leaving the final outcome of her latest shoplifting case unclear. So far, we've seen plenty of dumb and reckless women getting exactly what they deserve. Much like Kelly, who dragged her little one straight into a messy shoplifting spree that never stood a chance of ending well. >> So, here's thing, Kelly. >> I know you stole from here. I know you stole from all >> Yes, I do. I have in my back pocket. >> Hand it over. When we were in there, you you had your hand in the kid's pants. Did you stuff something in his in his pants? On August the 17th, 2024, officers with the Brimfield Police Department, Ohio, responded to a store following a report of a woman who was shoplifting multiple items while making some of the wildest claims imaginable. The officers arrived quickly and approached the loss prevention team, who had a lot to say about what had just gone down at the scene. >> Hey, Kelly. Officer Rumbler, Rfield Police. >> No. >> So, I understand you got caught stealing. Why were you doing that? >> Okay. It's not a forer. Are you getting it for your son? Just what's going on? >> I don't know. >> It's just stupid talking about it because I feel like no one believed you. >> Well, what's up? What? Why don't they believe you? What's going on? And because I caught before we literally like to have the things that I mostly for my sons at home just they had to watch their dad overdose. >> And there they didn't ask for it. My son was talking about these things he wanted for school and him and his friends and I just saw it and I don't have bills at home like $500 in the hospital right now. Sounds like you're going through a really hard time right now she concealed into her purse including her headphones that she removed some alarm system on that we have. So, we got that back. Some toys that were taken. Um, this side had a tag that was removed off of it. And then we have a few other random things that uh some shopping bag. >> Is there anything like else missing that we know about? >> Not that we know of. That should account for everything. We can search it first cuz we're not allowed to. That's up to you guys if you want to. >> Kelly, why are we stealing? This This isn't something new. >> Yeah, you can stop acting >> cuz I've given you summons twice. Officer Deal's given you a summon and I believe officer Crosie has as well. So why did we have we not learned our lesson? >> I thought I had I don't know. >> No, >> I don't know. >> Do we just not have money or what are we doing? >> No, I don't. I had no business even coming spending the money I had on that stuff. I >> Why do you have your kid out this late anyway? How old is he? >> He's three and a half. >> So is he three or six? That's a big difference. >> Oh, okay. >> Obviously. Jeez Louise. Yeah. So, the only thing she did pay for was the diapers. >> You know, everything there was paid for. Here's the other receipt, but she's been honest with us so far, as far as we know. >> Trespasser. >> What are the scissors for? You want hair in here or what? >> Do you use it to cut the stuff? >> No, I just I have a lot of Oh, that's Yeah, that's >> Scissors are criminal tools, you know, right? >> No, I do not. My phone's busted. cuz she's been in here before and she's stolen from us before and we noticed that for the first time that we caught her in the act. >> You guys have prior? >> No, no priors because uh I think she did it off camera or something like that. It wasn't clear enough that I wanted to use. So, this was the first time that we watched her from start to finish when she came in here. Watch her go to the bathroom, take everything, and when she was able to get the stuff at the register, we took her on that and got the rest. >> The officers had already heard a lot, and they even knew details that Kelly thought that they weren't aware of yet. Before long, they let her outside the loss prevention office. The investigation was moving into another phase as they looked deeper into what had already been going on. >> All right, we're going to come over to your car, Kelly. So, here's your thing, Kelly. >> I know you stole from here. I know you stolen from Walmart. There's a Marshall's receipt in your bag, and I see a Marshall bag on your seat. Is anything from there stolen? >> No. >> Do you mind if I check the receipt up to match? >> Yep. >> Is a car unlocked? >> Yeah. >> If not, I know your key was in your purse cuz I put it back in there. I like to help. >> All right. Could you just step over here with my partner, please? Just leave it. >> What's that? Just set that back in there for me. Hey, buddy. Can I get in here? >> Grab your toys. >> Hold on to these guys. Okay. >> It's Spider-Man. >> So, there's a shirt in there. >> Straw. There's something in this. >> Did you check that cigarette pack? >> I did not yet. >> Oh, it's that's Careful. >> Well, there I already opened it. There was like powder >> some type of gray stuff in here. >> Is that what that is? >> Uh I don't know. Probably gray. Probably some kind of So be careful. >> Want to take a look at There's three of them. >> What's What is this? >> Okay. Well, the their dad just overdosed in front of them not that long ago. He's in I had to drop him off at um a silver living. >> It's not smart at all. And I I think it's sitting right in the center. You got Is this or >> I have I I literally I don't I >> Well, here's here's the rub. It's yours now. Okay. So, you're getting arrested tonight. >> What came out of the pack? >> Cigarettes. I I promise. >> What do you mean? What's in it now? >> Nothing. It's just empty. But you want a cigarette? >> Cuz I asked if I could smoke a cigarette. >> Okay. Do you have anything on you in your pockets? Don't reach. Just answer. We're not going to We're not going to cuff you. Don't even try to run either. Just lean against the car. Lean against the car. >> Kelly, listen. >> Yes, I do. I have It's in my back pocket. >> Hand it over. >> Don't Don't reach. I'll get it. What's in there? >> It's Turn around. >> It's a vital. It's He smokes out of it. >> Turn and face the car. Can you spread your feet for me? Put your hands on top of the roof for me. >> Oh my god. >> Can you spread your feet wider for me? Thank you. In your back pocket here. >> Yes. >> Yep. Glass smoking device. >> He doesn't live with me, buddy. You can stop bull us. Okay. >> Not not. >> All right. Do >> you have anything else on you, Kelly? >> Anything in your bra? >> No. >> If we go to the jail, it's automatically an addition. Hold on. Hold on. Let me finish. It's automatically an extra F3 if we go in there with it. >> So, if we do, >> be legit with me right now. >> We're not going to check your bra. >> But listen, you're you're going to be on video. You're on you've been on video since we met you, but you're going to be on video every angle until you get put taken to jail. You are going to jail. Okay. But here's what you got to do. You got to call your mom and have her come get the kid. >> That's There's no getting around it. >> I don't have any. >> What's that? >> You don't want her? >> No. No. I don't want to do that to the kid. The only reason you're not being put in handcuffs right now is cuz your kid's here. Okay. So, you are going to sit on this curb. You're going to call your mom. >> Kelly, before you walk away, where did this come from? Or what is this? It's it's it's just it's it's been in my car for um I maybe it was that um we went to Goodwill >> 110%. >> Yeah, absolutely. There was there's >> Goodwill sign to me. >> It was absolutely >> absolutely what >> it was. It's from Goodwill. >> Marshalls. Yep. That matches the receipt. What about these cutters on the front and your blowtorrch? >> Well, the blow torch is for this trick. >> No. Good job. >> I have a lighter for my cigarettes. >> So then what's the blow torch for? >> What's Do you know your mom's phone number? >> Yeah, but I can I call his dad and have his dad come get him? >> His dad's aic. There's nobody. >> No. No. That's two different dads. >> Where's he coming from? >> Close to my house. >> Cuz I'm not sitting here all night. I'll call JFS. It's quicker. Okay. Where's your phone at? >> In my purse. >> Let's go get it. You are under arrest. You're just not in handcuffs cuz I'm giving you a little respect with your child. Okay. Just so we're all clear on the same page. You a superhero >> doing Superman moves. What's that? >> I am. I pretend to be one sometimes. >> What's that? >> I help one. >> That's what we do. >> Yeah. >> Yep. We try to help everybody. >> What happened to his face? >> He has rashes. >> Rashes. Okay. She knew the officer's stern approach meant that she was in over her head, but somehow she still believed that she could outsmart a system that had already boxed her into a corner. >> Let's make this phone call. >> Hey Siri, >> three trifolds of snutter. She had this in her back pocket. Hey, Kelly, back over here. >> Do you want me to like take him over to my cruiser? Show He likes police cars distracted. >> Yeah. I'm not going to cuff her till this kid's gone. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> She's not not dangerous. >> I know. No, you don't have to. >> Everyone makes mistakes. >> They're not my I take drug tests all the time. >> I just dropped him off to sober living just >> and you and you plead that in court. Okay. >> No, you don't. You really don't. >> It's what I do for a living. That's pretty cool. >> I've seen much worse situations. >> Of course. >> I understand that. >> You told me. >> How long till he gets here? >> How long till he gets here? >> 7 minutes. >> Okay. >> And that's his child's father. >> Mhm. >> Or someone he's safe with this guy. >> Yes. >> Okay. What's his name? >> James. >> Last name. >> Behinger. >> Would it be cool if I show him the police car and all the lights and stuff? >> Yeah. You want to go see the lights on my car? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Come walk with me. show on the back. >> Yeah, it's all the all the Spider-Man colors. >> That's Captain. >> It's Yep. That's also Captain America colors. >> That's not up to us. Um probably till Monday because it's it's Friday, right? >> Yep. Saturday. >> You check that? >> That's clear. >> I've been dealing with this for 4 years. I know how everything looks. What? Your drug use? Just be honest. I'm not stupid. I mean, you could We're all adults here. We got it. We found it. >> I'm I'm not I'm not >> You got a >> You got a a snutter in the council. Three bindles of >> And a pipe in your back pocket and two torches in the car. >> Just took it out of the car when you guys went said you were going to go look in the back. I did. I got scared. I >> It was sitting there. It was sitting there before we even got out here. Yeah, I know. That's tape. I literally just took him. >> You said you're on probation. What are you on probation for? >> Theft. >> What? >> Theft. >> Okay. Do you have to What's this? >> Tea tree oil. >> I don't know. You got aluminum foil and and hair tie holding it together. >> That's weird. Oh, it's piss. >> That's what I thought. That's exactly what she was for. >> I'm just Well, you hand it to me, so it's kind of funny to me. Hey, stay over here. >> Can you grab her lighter, Nolan? Do you know what that is? If it's >> I truly It's If >> you had to guess, if you're just overdosed on also. >> Okay. Now, who's the guy that him that overdosed? >> My older boy's dad. My We're still technically married, but we've been >> And it was in front of him. You said >> it was in front of both. Yeah. >> All right. We can walk over there, Kelly. You can hang out with your kid till he gets here. Okay. What is >> my dad's car? >> No, there's enough in plain view where we could have. Anyway, >> this is the fourth time it's overdosed and they've never they don't they haven't done anything about it. Well, I don't I don't know what would make you think it's a good idea to drive around with this in your center console in his pipe in your back pocket when you're out shopping. >> But I I I know. >> Where was that pipe at before? >> 2503. >> It was in I just got all all of his clothes were in my car. We drove at Water Street Tavern. >> So you've been walking around with that big ass in your back pocket. >> No, it wasn't in my It was in the car when you guys when I went when I opened the door, I grabbed it. >> Where was it? 22. I'm not subject. >> You know that's tampering with evidence, right? It's thirdderee felony. >> Not going to be a but just so you know for future just if if we would have saw you doing it >> like all day long probably would have charged you. Not going to charge you with it. But that's that's what that is. Okay. That's a thirdderee felony. You turn you turned a paraphernalia >> into a thirdderee felony. >> Well, it seemed like the encounter had reached a climax already. The situation soon took a nose dive when one of the officers confronted her with a detail so bizarre that it left everyone around the scene stunned and Jaws practically hit the floor. >> It was weird. Hey, Kelly, come here real quick. Just ask her. We're not doing it, but you ask. >> So, when we were in there, you you had your hand in the kid's pants. Did you stuff something in his in his pants? >> What did I have my hand in his pants? >> You had your whole hand in the kid's pants? >> No, there's absolutely I'm not checking your do that. All right. >> You got I I'll pull his pants right now. >> No, we're not doing that. But it But >> me and him both saw it. >> And I just want to make sure you're not putting the kid in danger by by doing that. >> Don't be offended. I got to ask. >> A couple of us. >> He can take all the groceries. >> And you can give him the key to the car if you want. So the car is not sitting up here. Does he have someone he can get to jockey this car back to your house? >> So we have to We don't have to tow it. That's fine. It can sit here overnight >> if he can get it out sometime tomorrow. >> Yeah. >> How you doing, sir? Good. >> Thanks for coming out. >> Come here, buddy. Hey, your daddy's here. >> I already got it. >> Hey, can you uh we're going to let the car sit here, not tow it. >> Can you If she gives you the key, >> I'll get it taken care of. >> Okay. If it's got to sit overnight, that's fine. >> I'll get it moved tomorrow. >> Okay, perfect. >> And then >> we're going to let you You take all that's all the stuff she paid for. Okay. So, if you want to get all that loaded up in that car, I don't know if there's any refrigerated. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I'll take it to the house. >> Okay. And as soon as you you take off, we'll do what we got to do here. >> All right. >> What, buddy? >> Bye. >> Hold on. >> You said you did get his stuff. >> Yeah. >> Okay. You don't have >> No, I checked. >> It was all the folds. It's all set. We're >> How many times do I tell you? >> How many times we need to >> There's nothing you don't that I'm not already aware of. >> Give mommy a hug and a kiss. Tell her you love her. Can't tell her you love her. She doesn't take care of you. >> So, what exactly is going on? What's what's happening? >> If you if you got no problem me talking to him over there, I'll go talk to him. That's fine. Because she's an adult that does her business. >> I understand. >> They found he I they they found all the folds I had. >> I >> I don't know. >> I Let's go here. We'll talk. Let me >> You want to buckle him in? Yeah. Come on. Let's get you in there. >> Walk around the other side, though. I just don't want the kid to see you. >> We're going to come over to the rear passenger side of cruiser. Okay. >> My purse. >> Uh, officer Roman will grab that. >> Purse. >> Yep. >> All right, Kelly. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do could be used against you in a court of law. You understand these rights as I read them to you. Okay. I'm going to take these items. We're going to set them up on top. Do you want him to take your smokes? Cuz the jail's going to pitch them. They they you kept them last time. So when I got out, I was able to have one. But >> they did? Yeah. >> Oh, I say we could try, but they'll probably pitch. So before we get in, go ahead and put your hands behind your back for me. Yeah. At least till Monday. And then depending upon what they want to do with the charge, it could be extended. You'll get your call and stuff once you get down to the actual jail. Okay. >> I appreciate you coming out, man. I know it's >> Hey, it is what it is, man. My son's involved. It's priority above everything else. >> Yep. I hear you. Fair money. >> Basically, she she's been she's been caught stealing >> like >> multiple times. I know. >> Just here like just in Brimfield. >> So anyway, she got caught tonight. She's cooperative. Well, she's got a bunch of Marshall stuff on the front seat and a Marshall's receipt in her purse. >> So, she let us match the receipts up to that. >> Okay. >> Um I'm pretty I think all that checked out, but she had some other stuff with no tags. It's probably stolen. Not that big a deal. >> But right in plain view in the center council, she got three bindles and a snutter. And then she she went to grab her cigarettes and she grabbed a pipe out of the door pocket. Tried to hide that. So, it is what it is. You know, >> I've been bashing my head against wall for how long she been using. >> Honestly, I couldn't tell you exactly how long, but I know that I've never seen her use ever. >> You can tell she does. >> Yeah. Stupid. >> No. >> Yeah. >> My ex-wife was a addict. Yeah, >> I was off in the military. She was at home smoking. I know. >> The officer remained calm and polite. Meanwhile, her former partner appeared on the scene and was more than ready to air dirty family or buck and was more than ready to air dirty family laundry in public. >> You know what I mean, >> right? >> So, well, that's what I'm wondering cuz those bindles are likely her and she's got a pipe. So, I don't know if she's snoring and smoking. >> I have no idea >> cuz I don't I didn't see any track marks at you. So, but we didn't we didn't find any. We didn't open them all, but anyway, it's not cool to have with the kid in the car either. >> No, that would kill the kid. >> I've been >> So, this this is going to I'm just being honest. This is going to suck for her for a little bit, >> but it could be a blessing in disguise for all of you. >> Well, it's going to be a blessing in disguise for me for sure because I've got a custody thing that's already in the works that hasn't come to light yet because my lawyer is waiting for for divorce to be final. Well, here's a here's a nice shiny package, >> bro. >> Still sucks because there's two other boys involved. >> Are those yours, too? >> No, sir. They're not. >> Okay. >> But one of them I coach in baseball have for 5 years. You know what I mean? They >> They're not mine. But >> now, did this other guy over Did the other dad overdose in front of all them? >> In front of the 10-year-old? Yes, sir. He did. >> Okay. Cuz she's trying to blame it on him. >> She's been blaming it on him for three years, dude. And I'm tired of hearing the story. Maybe this will be the camera that puts down on her, >> right? and puts her to ground zero to where she has to [clears throat] get help. >> Right. Well, that's >> I've been waiting for this to happen. Unfortunately, it sucks that the way this is the way it's got to go, but >> Well, that's that's the goal is that she gets help. We're not I mean, she seems like a nice lady. We're not trying to put her in prison for 10 years. >> She is she is she's just her priorities are >> Yeah. Well, I will tell you >> she's backed in a corner. She doesn't know how to get out of it. And I've been trying help her to get out of it for years. >> Well, she's using both of those. >> I know. >> I mean, she's going to need >> Yes, sir. a lot of help. >> She is. >> Now, she told me she's on probation. They found a She's got a bottle of piss in there. >> So, I'm not I'm not going to dispose of a a bottle of piss with a piece of foil and a hair tie over it. >> So, if you when you get that car home, go through it, clean it out, get that piss out of there. >> I don't know who's I don't know who's pissing for it. Somebody is. >> Probably one of the boys, honestly. >> Oh, and then one of my partners, we don't know for sure. We weren't going to search your son. Uh, but she saw her hand down his pants. So, we don't know if she hid anything there. She said no. But when you get home or now when you're by yourself, you might want to just double check just for his safety. >> Thank you. I forgot to tell you that. >> Before I even leave, that's going to happen. >> Yeah, we're not I'm not going to strip search a child. No, >> you know what I mean? >> I get it. >> But it was it was weird. And me and my part my other partner both noticed it and then once we found all this, we asked her and she got all defensive. She's like, I'll pull his pants down right here. We're not doing that. >> I tried to keep him distracted from everything. It's a struggle, man. We see it all the time. >> What's up? Is is this is not This is not her. 5 years ago when I met her, this is not her. >> Well, even her BMV photo to what she looks like now is two totally different people. >> Absolutely. >> You know, you can see it in her face that she's using >> for years. I'm like, come on. I know you're full of I know I know what's going on, >> right? >> And my hands are tied because she's still married. So, in the state's eyes, he wasn't even minded until 6 months ago >> really >> when I got the paternity and all that because she feed on it. I had to jump through all the hoops and get them to do it. And >> I paid for paternity out of pocket. >> No good. Because child support doesn't want that. They want their test. >> Well, I'm I'm since it's your son, I'm going to be honest with you. We're probably going to charge her a child, too. >> Really? >> Cuz she's she's got that kid in a car with felony in a little piece of paper. >> So, how many felonies you think she's going to get hit with? I I got to see how the child fits. At least one, maybe two, >> because the pipe will get sent out for testing. That'll be another one when it comes back. >> Packaging. They might >> But they're not going to >> But but you know as well as I do, when it all comes down to it, they're not going to they're not going to convict her of every felony when it's all worked out. But >> there's going to be wheeling and dealing and [ __ ] Yeah. But the goal of this in our eyes is not to not to her over is to get her in some help. Get her in some court order treatment that she has no choice but to >> the biggest focus right now >> and be there for her kids and use to get her >> Yeah. >> In the end, she was charged with endangerment, possession of criminal tools, possession of controlled substances and theft. Speaking of horrible moms, meet Tiana, who seemed rich enough to afford anything she wanted, but also dumb enough to go for a five-fingered discount while shopping with her kids at a camera flooded Walmart. Tiana, here's the deal. As I've watched all the video, by Florida state statute, okay, you walked out of the store without paying for items. The reason why is because she shoplifted from Walmart. Um, she went in with her and the two kids. On April the 6th, 2025, officers with the Ocala Police Department intercepted a shoplifting suspect just as her getaway was starting to fall apart. According to reports, she paid for the items her food stamps covered, then casually tried to steal the rest, as if nobody would notice. A bold move that quickly blew up in her face in the middle of the day. >> How long am I? She said I was detained. How long am I detained? >> Well, right now you're under going to be under arrest. So that's why you're getting out of the car. >> I can't steal anything. >> Okay. Well, we're we're going to figure that out. >> But then by that time it may be too late if I if I get >> It's not an option at this point. >> Well, so Tiana, here's the deal. I've watched all the video by Florida state statute. Okay. You walked out of the store without paying for items. >> I did not walk out. >> Okay. I did not go outside. Outside. I was not outside. >> Okay. You passed all points of sale. That's what that means. Now, Kiana is detained. Okay. The reason why is because she shoplifted from Walmart. Um she went in with her and the two kids. [music] Um she paid for about $25 worth of um like groceries and stuff, but she tried leaving with about $300 of unpaid items. All right. So, um whenever we showed up here, they gave us a description of the vehicle, they gave us a description of her. Um, we've obviously located her right here, which is just within a very short distance of Walmart. Um, and since then, she's been less than cooperative with us. Um, but she was wanting for uh her kids if in the very least if you would be able to take her children for and stuff like that. >> Can I get the kids? >> Yeah, we'll make sure that you get the kids and stuff like that and get everything taken care of. >> What you doing that for? >> I don't know. >> I got money, right? >> You know, I'm I'm an insurance broker. I make over $100,000 a year. I got money. You know, I I honestly don't know. Um, do me a favor. What we would like for you to do is I think that the kids will probably be calm enough with us if what we can do is we can just have her step out. We can take care of stuff away from the kids. Okay? Because we don't want them seeing all of this that's going on. She does have to go in handcuffs. She doesn't have to be padded down, go in a vehicle and stuff like that. We'll let you come in and start taking care of the kids and [music] stuff, right? And then >> my car here, >> huh? >> You want a car here? >> Um, yeah. We'll figure that out. So, I don't think the vehicle is registered to her. We'll get that stuff lined out, but let us get this squared away and then we'll either decide if the kids need to come to your car or if you're taking hers or what what's going on exactly. Okay. >> Go over there, right? >> Uh just wait until I come back and let you know and then we'll we'll let you know. Okay. >> Kiana, does that sound right? Tiana, >> Tiana, >> Kiana, >> Tiana, >> Tiana, I'm sorry. The cars I can't hear. That's my issue and stuff like that. So, I just talked to your mom. Here's the deal. Um, we're going to try to be as respectful as possible with you and your family here cuz these are your kids, right? >> Okay. What we would like, if possible, and if you will agree with it, is we would like for you to turn off the car and step out and walk back here with us. Okay. So, that way we don't do anything in front of the kids and we don't have any issues. Is that okay? Are you agree with agreeing with that? All right. >> How long am I? She said I was detained. How long am I detained? >> Well, right now you're under going to be under arrest. So that's why you're getting out of the car. >> I didn't steal anything. >> Okay. Well, we're we're going to figure that out. >> But then by next time it may be too late if I if I get >> It's not an option at this point. >> Well, so Tiana, here's the deal. I've watched all the video by Florida state statute. Okay. You walked out of the store without paying for items. >> I did not walk out. >> Okay. >> I did not go outside. Outside. I was not outside. >> Okay, you passed all points of sale. That's what that means. Tanya, this officer wants to ask you some more questions whenever we get done with this. Okay. >> Soon as we get these in and you're secured in the back of my car, I'm going have your mom go up there with the kids. Okay. >> Okay. >> Have a seat. >> My windows are Everything's unlocked. if you need to. >> You're fine with the car here. She's been obviously good with us. Um, if you want to go sit with the kids and stuff, just don't leave yet cuz we do have our car up there in front of it anyway. But we'll get it all sorted out. >> My sister going to come and move the cars if that's okay or what's going to happen with the car. >> We got to talk to her and figure out exactly who the car belongs to and who gets permission and stuff like that. >> Somebody else. >> Yeah, that's what we're working on. So, start off with the kids. Kids. Yeah, let's start off with the grandbabies and then we'll go from there. Okay. >> Coming. The officers already had overwhelming evidence stacked up against her, and it was obvious that she had barked up the wrong tree this time. To make matters even worse, she had allegedly been shoplifting while driving around in an expensive car, making the whole situation look much less like desperation and more like someone who simply couldn't resist the urge to steal. >> So, here's the thing. We have you on video stealing. We have the proof. I don't need you to tell me you did or not. You can be upfront and be honest and tell me, but that's up to you. Cuz what's going to happen here is essentially I'm going to take you to jail. >> So, here's here's the deal, Tiana. What we would like is for you to tell us your version of the story. >> Yeah. Yeah. By all means. >> My man, how the [ __ ] get his car? >> Don't make no goddamn sense. >> Would you like to tell us your side of the story? >> Yeah. Um well, I went back to the They accused me. I came in there. I went back to the um register. I checked my gift cards. Um a woman helped me in the front. Yeah, a woman helped me in the front. I check my gift cards and then I return something and then I left. >> Okay. >> I try to leave. >> So, let's let's let's start back from that. Okay. >> When did you come when did you decide to come to Walmart? Was it this morning? This afternoon? Was it spur of the moment? >> Um I was coming from the villages. So, um I mean I just need to stop by. >> Okay. Where do you live at? >> I live in the villages as well. >> You live in the villages? Coming from the villages. Live in the villages. And you came here to this Walmart? Yeah, because I was getting ready to have a gathering. >> Like a family gathering. >> Mhm. >> Okay. All right. It's fine. So, you stopped by Walmart, do some grocery shopping, right? >> Mhm. I got I got like a few things. Yeah. >> Got a few things. What was a few things? >> Um what was the stuff? >> Uh peanut butter. >> Red peanut butter. Um, I got some juice and um some chip cookies. >> Okay. About how much was all of that? >> Um, roughly about maybe a little about 40 bucks. >> 40 bucks might be a rough estimate or something like that. >> Okay. So, you had about $40 worth of stuff. You went through selfcan or did you go through with a person? >> Um, both. >> Well, okay. In the beginning, which one did you go through first? >> Scan it in. >> Selfcan first. Okay. So, you you got the stuff, right? And then you went to what? Customer service or like a normal >> uh customer service? >> Customer service. >> The machine. The lady came over with the machine, but it wasn't wasn't functioning. >> Okay. So, >> all right. So, you did that and then you tried to leave, right? >> Cuz you were done. >> You went to the doors. >> No, I went to the customer service. >> After after customer service. Yeah. Yeah. You check your You return an item. You check your gift card balances and stuff like that and you walk out. You and your two kids >> from this Walmart. >> You got stopped inside the vestibule past all points of sale by a large man in a gray shirt that identified himself as asset protection. Right. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, you followed him? >> No, I didn't. >> Didn't what? >> I didn't follow him. >> You didn't follow him? >> No. >> Okay. Did you follow somebody else? >> Yeah, I followed this woman. I kept ask her like, "What's the problem?" And she wouldn't tell me. So, wouldn't >> tell you. After a while, I said, "I'm You're not going to tell me what's the problem." Then they said, >> "Yeah, just come with me." And I said, "I'm not coming with you anywhere." >> Okay. >> I said, "I'm not coming with you anywhere." >> Mhm. And then I walked out the door. >> And then you walked out the door. Yeah. >> Okay. So, what about the items that you paid for? >> Did you >> What' you do with them? >> I didn't even I didn't even bring it with me cuz I said I want my money back. >> Okay. So, you you said you want your money back. Who was you telling you want your money back to? >> Oh, to the customer service lady. >> And then >> when was that? >> That was after while I was speaking to the man and he's like, I don't want to embarrass you. And I said, "Look, just just give me just give me back my money. If you're going to, you know, accuse me, just, you know, just give me back my money." >> Have you mer. >> Okay. Her story rire of guilt from the very beginning. The officers quickly saw through the cracks in her story. One of them knew exactly where to poke and press, knowing that she was only digging herself deeper with every attempt to stop the inevitable. >> Okay, >> so it it it your story's starting to fall apart here. Who on earth goes into the store? Hear me out. Who on earth goes into the store, does that, goes back up and is following this, you know, an employee and then tells customer service, "Hey, I want my money back." But then just leaves without getting their money or taking the items that they paid for. I mean, I I do a lot of grocery shopping. McCall you do a lot of grocery shopping. I've never had that happen. Have you? >> He stated He said I wasn't going to get my money back. So, I said, "Okay, if you're not going to give me my money back, I'll just do a dispute." Okay, that's why I stated. >> Okay. All right. So, let me ask you this. While you were loading your shopping cart full of items, >> and you only paid for approximately $25 worth with supposedly a gift card, I believe is what it was. Or was it What kind of card did you pay with it for? >> Um, a gift card. Yeah. Gift card and some like cash. >> Okay. Some was gift card, some was cash. All right. So, kind of a combo deal. >> So, real quick before y'all go on, do you actually have a driver's license? >> Yes or no? Cuz I just ran I just ran you. So yes or no. >> I don't. >> Do you or don't you? >> I don't have it. >> No. Do you actually have one? Period. >> Oh, no. Matt, I don't have it. >> Oh, no wonder why you don't have it. >> Okay. >> 26. Thank you. >> All right. >> Here's the deal. At >> this point, we're done anyways cuz you ain't done nothing but lie. Like I asked you about your ID. I asked you about the car. Asked you if you went to Walmart. Every single thing you said, it doesn't matter cuz we have it on video at this point. >> I did not steal anything. >> Okay. >> He accused me of stealing and I told him I didn't steal anything from him and I told him, "Hey, if that let me just get a refund." That's what I That and he said, "You know, you cannot get a refund." >> Okay, so here's the deal. You loaded up approximately $295 worth of merchandise in your cart. You tried to pay for $25. You tried to walk out with $270 and 99 cents worth of unpaid merchandise. I have the itemized receipt. We do have it on video. You passed all points of sale without paying for it or attempting to pay for it at that given point. Which means that at this point you've committed a retail theft, which means that you are going to be going to jail today. Okay. Hey, is everybody calm down a little bit? Okay. >> Hey, baby boy, >> right? >> Baby boy. >> Baby boy. Yeah, >> baby boy. Hey, buddy. Look at your little mohawk, man. You got some wild hair, don't you? >> I know. It's starting to grow in. I know. Um, so here's the deal. >> Do what? >> No. >> Um, I'm going to get you to verify your daughter's information and stuff really quickly cuz there's a lot of times that she's telling us no, even though we've seen it on video. >> The unfortunate part is she had the kids with her whenever this happened and it could have easily been avoidable. Sounds like sounds like you were had she called you and said, "Hey, we need this." You would have helped her out or something like that. >> Okay. Got got $300 right now. Not right cash, but >> you could have easily helped pay if you needed to. Or something along those lines. Um I do believe that she is going to have to go to jail today. >> Okay. I I wish that we didn't have to. However, you know, she I mean, she literally ran away from the asset employees, so she ran from Walmart. She's been less than compliant with us the whole entire time. We've tried to explain to her, hey, look, this is what's going on. We're just trying to do our job and stuff. And she's like, >> who does the car belong to? Is it Kayana? Kiana. >> Kayana. >> That's who the car owner is, right? >> Kiana. No, that's >> that's her. >> That's her. Kion Spear. >> What did you tell her your name was? >> Kiana Spear. The registered owner of the vehicle. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, this is this is her. >> Yeah. This you're Kiana Spear. Yes. >> Kion Spear. Okay. And the the vehicle isn't registered to you or owned by you, is it? >> Yeah. >> Oh, it is. Okay. >> You do realize that's an additional charge. You gave me a false identity. >> What' you say her name was? >> Tion or something. Thank you. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. At this point, >> in the end, she was charged with shoplifting. Agreed that Tiana was too dumb for her own good. She still had nothing on this dumb Karen whose shoplifting scheme at Home Depot ended with her and her husband being cuffed while their little one watched in disgust. >> We came to get sandpaper and he he just walked up on us saying that I I took something. I didn't take nothing. I didn't touch nothing or nothing. >> You don't have anything on your person? >> Ask him. I didn't touch nothing. >> If they knew, I'd be honest with you, but they didn't know. On January the 30th, 2026, deputies with the Home Depot Loss Prevention responded to a shoplifting in progress at a Home Depot after loss prevention observed the couple concealing boxed power tools and hiding saw blades inside the woman's purse. The pair paid only for the sandpaper at selfch checkckout before attempting to leave, but loss prevention stopped them outside just as deputies arrived on scene. >> All right, go ahead, step over here with us. Just go ahead and step over here with us. >> Listen, I didn't know that one thing was in the cart behind my purse. I swear to you. >> Okay. >> We'll put it in the car. >> No, because I did. I was going to buy them and I I thought we didn't find them. >> Keep your hands out of your pockets. Just go ahead. Step over this way. >> Over this way. There we go. >> All right. What's going on? Keep your hands out your pockets. Keep your hands out your pockets. >> So, what's going on today? We came here and get sandpaper. I swear to God. >> And he he just walked up on us saying that I I took something. I ain't take nothing. I didn't take nothing. >> Okay. >> I swear to God I >> I ain't touch nothing or nothing. >> You don't have anything on your person? >> Ask him. I didn't touch nothing. >> Did I even touch anything? >> I ain't do nothing. >> I um I >> Does he have an ID? >> Who? my son. >> No. >> Oh, I don't I don't think so. >> Okay. >> And then what's your son's name? >> First name. >> O I S E S. >> Um O I S. >> Yes, sir. Roman 2. >> What is uh your date of birth? All right. Before we go any further, before any talking, I'm just going to read you guys your rights. Okay. >> You and you. Okay. to him >> with these rights in minds. Are you willing to talk to me? >> Yes. I'm sorry. I was dealing with him. I apologize. >> I'm just reading them for now. Doesn't mean anybody's going anywhere right now. It's just we have to ask you some questions. They're to protect you and your rights. So, with those rights in minds, are you guys willing to talk to us? >> Okay. So, let's go. And what are we doing here tonight? >> Get sandpaper. >> Sandpaper? >> Did we walk out with sandpaper? >> No. I didn't know. I was looking for jigsaw blades and I didn't know they found them and they sit there in the car and my purse was in front of you. >> Okay. So the entire time you had no idea. So even when you walked out of the store >> they were right there. I would have never moved my purse that I thought they were in there. I mean I'm not >> they were in the car or they were right in front of my purse and I didn't know. Okay. >> I will pay for whatever it says I sold. I will do whatever. But I don't want >> you have the receipt and everything. >> Yeah, I can get a statement, too. >> You want trespass? I've got I've got all of that. >> All right, >> we'll get it all in the next package. >> Look, we just knocked back here ever again. >> That's not how it works. See, when you refuse, >> I walked right up to you. I went in and you kept playing the game. Now, that's how it works. >> I didn't refuse to even do nothing. I had no involvement in it. Just a second. >> Yeah. >> I didn't have nothing on me or anything. >> I didn't touch nothing. >> Touch nothing. >> They said that. I mean, I'll give them a statement on you guys. They said they have >> work. >> Yeah. He said they're doing all >> You guys have camera footage. You mind showing it? Yeah. Yeah. I'll go. You want me to go? Yeah. >> Okay. That's why they looked a little surprised when they filled this out. >> Do you have any um fire truck for for >> lararseny? >> Already they knew that their buy one conceal another scheme had not fooled anyone. And right there on the spot, they started scrambling to come up with another story to contain the damage. All while doing it in the presence of their little one. >> If they knew, I'd be honest with you. But they didn't know. >> You want to call me? >> Yeah, but you're you're going to jail. I'm going to smoke. >> I'm going to jail, too. >> You have any priors? >> Yep. But they honestly didn't know. I promise you. You can look at the video. I ain't doing nothing though. Honestly, >> right in that bag. >> Where did the bag just go? >> They took the sandpaper. >> The bag was just in my car. I promise you. >> Yeah. >> The receipt. >> The receipt was in the cart, too. >> No, that's the receipt they gave them. There was just a little circular sandpaper. I paid 1074 or 1067. everything in your life today. I'm sorry. I'm going to have to tell her. She b me out. I'm home. They'll probably make her come get you. I'm going to transfer the money into my account right now. >> Yes, sir. >> Where are you going for? >> I love you. I knew you got to get something. >> Yeah, that's my charger. You have anything else on your personal? >> No, you can search me. >> You do understand at this moment you're being detained. You're not friendly. Nobody. >> I'm not going to lie to you. >> No, >> I figured those kept on for my t-shirt machine. Oh, there it is. Right behind you. Listen, I know he doesn't smoke him, but I know they're going to throw this away. Can I just give this to him to give to my mom? Fortnite. >> No, we we No, I mean, we can't we'll figure that out later. He can't go with that. Um, but we'll figure we'll figure that out. If your mom comes here, then you want your mom to have the baby. >> She's not going to get here for me. Are we, is she? >> Well, I mean, we have I don't know. She I haven't spoken with her. Have you? Meanwhile, the officers were digging into their past, connecting the dots between their history, the choices they had already made, and the kind of foreseeable future that was starting to catch up to them. I would probably give her a call to come get your son. >> Is he going to jail, too? >> Um, yes, sir. this. And he has a warrant. >> For what? >> He has a warrant as well. >> Okay. >> Well, I'm going to I'm going to ask you again. You know, >> can we put everything down? >> Absolutely. Just set it down. Doesn't need to be pretty. Okay. We can put that down, too. >> Do you have any family members in the area that are going to be able to >> Hold on, buddy. >> Hold on. >> I follow him. >> Say again. >> That's what he's asking. Can I give him a hug? >> Let him give you a hug. >> Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Besides that, I'm getting a text. I had nothing to do with that. >> Well, I mean I mean at the least you have a one. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> That's what I'm getting with. >> I don't I don't know yet. I mean I mean at the least you have so [clears throat] >> because I really hate I mean you can ask them. I have nothing to do with you. >> I didn't take nothing. >> Yeah. That's my phone and my sunglasses. >> Even if I could, I would. That's why I was honest with you. >> I appreciate >> um I think I'll need it if I get out. You >> mind stand for a second? I get some gloves. Thank you. >> Here. Here. I got you. Awesome. Just out. Anything in your pockets at all? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> We We'll take care of all of this stuff. >> I know. I don't even want to hear it. Yeah, we'll get that. >> I got a bubble in my pocket. >> Oh, that's that's your time as well. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I got a bubble in my pocket. I do. >> What's that? >> A bubble? >> Yeah. >> On that tight. >> Okay. >> No, no, no. I don't have no dope on me. >> Okay. Okay. Um, just turn off this car. What? What pocket? >> It's in my front pocket right there. >> This pocket? Nothing but my jeans pocket. >> I got you. I gota check the jacket. >> Oh, yeah. You did, sir. I'm sorry, man. >> No. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Turn off. >> Um, so he says he's got a bubble in his pocket. >> He's got what? >> A bubble in that pipe. Are you You want me to take this one or you want to take both? >> I can take this. >> Okay. >> You don't need the >> I'm not going nowhere. I'm not doing nothing. You're not doing nothing. I promise. >> No needles anymore. >> No. Hell no. I don't do nothing like that, man. That's why I asked you to bring me over here. >> That's why I actually bring you over. You realize you have any? >> I don't have Yeah. No, I don't have any. >> What is this vibrator? No. What's in there? >> That's not a bubble, but that's brand new. The officers later turned their attention to the woman who already seemed to realize that she had bitten off far more than she could chew, but still carried herself like she was somehow expecting a soft landing when everything was said and done. >> So, you've been trespassed. You're not allowed to return back. >> You'll get it. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> But just for future references, in case you don't get it, >> what was that? I got to go to the front. >> All right. All right. I love you. Thank you. All right. I >> approximately how far >> away. 10 minutes away. Okay. >> I love you, too, baby. >> Is there anything you want to take with you? I know you're leaving your phone. >> Can I get my phone out of my purse? Phone out of my purse. >> I'll grab it. I'll grab it. >> I apologize. I just want I just want And I have a question. Is my son allowed to come back and get my car? >> As long as you're not coming back. >> You won't tell it. Thank you so much. Um I to be honest with you, I don't know exactly where it is. It's a blue minivan. Please don't throw it. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Yeah, it's a blue minivan. He can show you. >> I have two. >> Oh, no. It's this one. >> And then >> I have three phones. >> You got >> All right. I did. Oh, you're actually going to give me the stuff that I paid back. >> Yeah. Well, nobody ever >> Oh, that's why we couldn't find it. >> I apologize. >> No, I didn't touch anything else. >> I would want to get over. >> Look, I would tell you. I told them the truth about everything. No, there's nothing else. >> No, >> thank you. Thank you. Please. I won't come back here. I promise you. Do you want your purse to go with you or do you want your purse to go to your son? >> He can take it. He can take it. >> Well, my other son is old enough. So So they'll throw it away at the take it. I just bought it. >> Thank you. >> I love you, too. It's going to be okay. Y'all are going to come get me. It's going to be okay. I promise you. I love you. >> Love you. >> Until his brother. >> I'll see you in a little while. >> Until his brother comes to get >> He'll be about 10 minutes. He's in the P section. >> What's he going for? >> Huh? Is he going for? >> Uh, he had a warrant for petty theft and then he also has >> he has a he admitted to my partner he's got a bubble pipe. He's got pipe and it just tested positive. >> You told me he's sober. >> Are you going to be okay in the same car with him? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Lean against the car. People lie all the time. I know. I know. >> I just People lie all the time. Even you know our partners. It sucks. But >> I'm just saying I'd tell you if I had anything on you. >> I know. But we still got to do our >> I'm just not feel like you know what I'm saying. >> Nothing on you is going to stick, hurt, poke me. >> You're not going to get mad I'm stuck with a needle or something like that. >> That's another charge, isn't it? >> Um could be. And then having it on you could also be another charge. So And you know if you get to the jail, >> it's going to another felony charge if you find it on you. >> What is the brother's name? >> Yours. >> Whose phone is it? >> Mine. Okay. I have a work phone. I have my phone. And then another >> three phones. >> Yeah. >> What's up? Halfway down my irritating. Get my door start here. >> Thank you. >> Yeah, it's just right on that car. I'm getting messages with it. >> No, I know you're not in there. >> And then just cuz people hide all the time. >> All right, we're going to walk over to the other side. >> Sorry, I'm cold. >> I'm not going. >> Can you do me one favor? I don't know if you're allowed. Can you please just loosen this side a tiny bit? >> Yeah. Yeah. Really hurting. >> No, you're fine. I really appreciate a cop that would actually >> It went on super fast. So I apologize that it went on so tight. >> You never had somebody actually. >> So I really appreciate that. >> Is it better? I know you got a lot of >> You got a lot of jewelry on. So that's good. >> Are we able to take that off or find you? >> So >> nothing else on you? Eventually, the couple's reunion took place in the back of a police cruiser. The dice had already been cast, and their greed had finally caught up with them right in front of their little one. But somehow, the ride back to the station turned out to be anything but mundane. In the end, she was booked for petite theft as a second conviction after deputies confirmed that she had prior theft offenses, and her bond was set at $25,000 before being posted shortly after her arrest. Her partner was booked on the same theft charge along with possession of paraphernalia and his bond was also set at $2,500 before he was later released. Next up is a moment that these dumb women turned what should have been a simple mother and kids shopping trip into an unintentional shoplifting lesson for the little ones. >> And the fact that you have your children here doing no no felonious activity with your children present. >> Okay. >> Having them assist you in picking items to put them in the No, no. I watched that video. >> On December the 24th, 2024, just before sunset, two women were stopped by loss prevention at a Target store after being caught concealing unpaid merchandise beneath their shopping cart. The two women had brought little ones along. They even appeared prepared to make a quick escape, completely unaware that nearly every move they made was being monitored from the very beginning. >> Yep, we know he's got some undated merchandise in the bag. >> Go back inside. Oh, is it under there? >> No, we're all going back inside. >> Everybody, >> don't let the people. >> We're going to that side of this target. We're going to go back inside. Walk to your left. >> You guys just want to follow me? >> Okay, no problem. >> Yeah. Anything we have to be for >> See that lady in the green sweatshirt? That's where we're going. Following her. >> I have the receipt as well. >> Okay. Yeah, I can hold on to that for now. >> Yeah. Um, is there some stuff under the car? >> Can I wait in the car with my daughter or we all have to go together? >> No, you can keep walking. Thank you. >> I'm I'm walking with you, please. >> Thank you. >> You're just tapping my back and I don't feel like it's necessary. >> I'm just guiding you. >> No, I'm He told me to follow her. >> Yep. So, can you walk a little faster? >> Sorry, man. Yep. Go in there, please. >> We can get that. It's the blanket. >> So, you have a Florida driver's license. >> I do. All right. Where do you have a driver's license? >> All right. What's your name? >> All right. What is it? >> I'm sorry. >> Okay. What's your name? >> And my date of birth. Where do you live? >> I live in Palm Coast. >> Okay. >> I just moved here. >> All right. Where was your last ID card? >> Um, I don't really get ID cards cuz I'm not from here. >> Are you a United States citizen? >> Yeah. >> Did you ever drive a car? >> Not really. >> All right. >> Have you ever issued a state ID card or driver's license from any state in the United States of America? >> Um, >> it's not a hard question. I know every state I've had a driver's license. I mean, I'm dealing with several cops today. I'm extremely uncomfortable and they're >> going on. >> So, do you have a driver's license or ID card issued from the United States of America? >> Right now, no, I do not. >> Okay. You've never had one in your life? >> I have, but I do not have right now. >> Um, >> where was your last one from? >> It was a work permit. While she seemed to think that she was several steps ahead of the officers because of her anonymous status and foreign nationality, a search through their loot quickly told a completely different story and exposed the kind of person she really was. >> Is this is this your bag or your bag? >> It's my bag. We will contact someone when we get to the jail. >> Okay. and we will be able to stay with them. >> So, how it works is you go to jail, you get booked in, you're at jail until first appearance. Tomorrow's Christmas, so I don't know if they have first appearance on Christmas. >> So, you're in there on first appearance. >> You're in there until first appearance the next morning. >> So, you might have first appearance tomorrow. The web of lies they hid behind was quickly falling apart. Still, they kept trying to dodge responsibility, unaware that the officers were already a few steps ahead of them. >> Is it the one with the cake? >> C. Is that your home? >> That's our husband. >> Talk to him. >> Can I please? >> Thank you. >> Hello. [clears throat] >> Hello. How do you know what's going on? I'm your on here. I will call you back. Okay. >> It's ridiculous. I know. But you'd be surprised what we find. >> Fine. >> We're not worried about that. >> Yeah. No, I'm not worried about that. I'm telling you, we find things in people's hair all the time. >> You really got to get down. There you go. >> That's all yours? >> Yeah. At least she's good. >> Reports later revealed that the stolen merchandise was estimated at $1,291. In the end, both women were charged with felony grand theft. The next case took things to Washington, DC, where Ashley's greed ended with her being separated from her little one after a shoplifting situation spiraled out of control. >> Why am I being detained? Because suspicion of theft. >> You do not have a right to do that. >> Keep moving. Your child's no. We decided to commit a bunch of crimes of the kids. Your child is now in our custody. >> On January the 14th, 2025, officers rushed to a shopping mall in Lynwood, Washington, following a report of an ongoing theft. The officers arrived and quickly linked up with loss prevention staff to figure out exactly what they were dealing with. >> Well, she stole and then she went to American Eagle and now it's coming back out or is coming back. Can I have you show me where the shoes are at? >> I mean, not the shoes, the watches. >> Hello, ma'am. Officer Numo with the little police department. Just so you know, you are being detained right now. I'm going to have you come back to the loss prevention office with me right now. Okay. >> I just have Okay. Well, we're going to figure that out. Like I said, I'm going to have you come back to the loss prevention office with me. I'm not going to handcuff you cuz I don't want to cuff you in front of your baby. So, if you could come with me. We'll talk about this all in a second. if you could come back to the office with me. >> Yes. I I'm sorry, but I'm not going to agree to come with you. I have >> Well, you're being detained right now. So, >> so I have these. >> Okay. Well, if you don't agree to come with me, then I'm going to put you in handcuffs. Stop. >> Ma'am, >> you're not free to go. I told you you can come back to the office with me. >> I know my rights. >> No, I told you you're being detained. >> You want me to put you in handcuffs? Are you going to come? >> No. >> Then are you going to come to the back office with me? >> Why am I being detained? >> Because suspicion of theft. You do not have a right to do that. >> You're being detained right now. Ma'am, >> please stop. >> No. Stop. >> Lincoln. I've got one resisting. >> Stop. >> Ma'am, stop. Can you grab your arm? >> My child. Stop. >> And I told you I didn't want to do this. >> You decided not to listen. >> Stop. >> My child. >> Then stop. Why are you fighting with it? Stop. >> Knock it off. >> You're going in handcuffs, so stop. >> Yes, you are. >> You're done. Stop. >> I already gave you that option. >> You're going to go to the >> You're going to go to the >> You're making quit fighting. >> Please do not >> then. Stop. Please stop. >> Please stop. >> You're my child. >> You're making it worse. So, quit fighting. >> Jesus. >> We're by the watchers. By the shoes. >> Okay, let's go. >> Right here. child >> here. I can't >> I can't worry about you a second. Stop. Stop resisting. >> Please help me. >> We have one to 10 here. >> Come on. I tried to give you an option. >> Ma'am, can you get Can we get my child, please? >> Hey, right in front of you. >> We'll worry about your kid in a second. Right now, you're under arrest. Your kid's going to be okay. >> And now you're under arrest for obstruction as well. >> Where you parked at? >> Um, >> we're right out front. >> We're right out this door. >> Okay, let's go that way. >> Everything she had done made it clear that she was only trying to stall the inevitable, but the officers already had her cornered. She had played a reckless game and now her consequences were catching up with her, ready to unfold right there on the spot. >> Good, guys. >> Keep moving. Your child's going to be all right. You decided to commit a bunch of crimes with the kids. Your child is now in our custody and you're going to be just fine with us. >> What? Yes. Yes. >> All right. Take a seat. >> Take a seat. I'm >> going to read you your rights. Okay. >> Can we please look for speedy? >> No. No. Having these rights in mind. You wish to talk to us now. I would like to go home. I can >> Well, that's not happening. >> I tried to have you walk back to the >> My child. My child. My child. >> Okay. Well, you should have listened to me the first time rather than running away from me, telling me you didn't do anything. >> I don't have any proof of anything. >> And that's what I was trying to figure out. But you didn't want to talk to me. Ashley, my partner here just read your rights. She's asking you about the theft that got conducted inside of a store. Do you have any statements you'd like to make? >> I did not complete any theft. I was literally I had >> Do you want to explain the situation that happened inside of North? >> No. I >> anywhere else in the mall? >> No. >> Okay. You have no statements about any of that? >> You have nothing you'd like to No comments. No. No statements. You have BC for her? >> I do. >> Okay. You're under arrest for theft. >> Understand that? You don't have to say anything else. Relax. Your child is in our custody as of right now. >> No. No. No. Yes. That's how that works when you commit crimes inside of our city. That's how that works. And so as of right now, right, we're going to make sure that he's okay, but you are being held responsible for the crimes that you've committed and we're going to get all of that sorted out. The more difficult you make it moving forward, the longer it's going to be before we can get you back reunited with your kid. Understood. >> Can we take care of this right here? >> We're No, we're taking care of this in the process that it's going to take. And it's not going to be quick. It's not going to be fast. >> He's not going to be okay. >> Yeah, he's going to be just fine. So, the next thing we need from you is to turn around and we're going. You're going to be search >> You have anything on you that's going to stick me, poke me, hurt me? [crying] >> Wind your stance for me. You have anything on you that's going to stick me, poke me, hurt me? >> I do have a firearm in my bag. >> You have a firearm in your bag? >> I also have Back of my hand. Back of my hand. Face the vehicle. [crying] Stop fidgeting with your cuffs. [groaning] Well, I want to get this off, but feeling she's not going to be too cooperative. >> Probably not. >> What's that? >> Probably not. >> I'm going to be cooperative. I just weren't. >> Can I hold my child? >> No, that's not happening. >> Belonging. You don't have a rifle. >> Yes, we do. >> If we do, you're under arrest right now. >> Here, let's sit in the back of your car. >> This way now. Take a seat. >> I am not. >> Sit. >> She is. >> No, I'm done. >> Why are you doing this? >> Everything that had befallen her could be traced right back to her own greed. But in the middle of it all, she had dragged her little one right into the crossfire. She wasn't just reckless. She was a terrible mother. Now the little one became a puzzling situation that required a delicate approach. [screaming] >> Hey, come here, mister. Come here. [crying] >> Yeah. Hold on a second. Get a phone call. Hey. >> Uh, we're just outside of Nordstrom on the north side. >> Your pinky off. >> The outside of the store. Yeah. >> No, we're we're good. Uh, why don't you get some bags, bag all that stuff up, and then take photographs of all the stolen merch, and then let's go through. I think some of it's in this this bag. Um, we need to search that. What's up? >> Um, you want to hold him? >> Hey, baby. >> Yeah. >> So, listen. Um, >> I didn't mean to walk out with I clearly was caring for him. It was an accident. I just said I'm need to I was going to pay for them. >> That's fine. I I don't I don't need to hear the story about the the incident. Uh, as of right now, you're under arrest and here's the deal, right? Obviously, your kid held your hope is that I don't have to call to listen to your >> I don't have my husband's out of town for training. >> Hope I need to explain something to you and then I'm going to let you respond. My hope is that I don't that is not the place for you. But that is the only other option that I have if you don't give me a responsible party to call and contact to come pick him and take care of him. >> He's out of my husband's out of town. Do you have mom? >> Nobody else that you feel comfortable. Nobody else did you feel more comfortable than CPS taking your son? >> I called my mom. But >> okay then sir, >> what's a good phone number for mom? >> Please. >> Can you just write me the citation? >> No, that's not how we're doing. >> We're beyond that. >> Why are we beyond that? >> If you think I'm If you think >> I just explained it to you at the >> What's a good father? >> It's nap time. I need to hear from my son. >> So then I need to call your mom so that he can get a nap. What's your mom's name? Sir, please. I'm begging you. >> I'm I'm telling you that your circumstances are not changing. I'm trying to help you out. >> Can you write me a citation if you think I had theft? >> No. >> So, you're in the city of Lynwood. That's not how we do work. >> What's your mom's name? >> Please let me out. >> If you like, I can just call CPS. >> No, I don't. >> Then I need Then I need your mom's name. >> And a phone number for her. >> Sure. Listen, at minimum what we always do, standard procedure here is to get fingerprints and photographs at our jail. We can't do that with your child. So, we need to transport. >> Can we just do that here? >> No, sir. >> No, it it takes going to our jail >> to be out of here. >> Well, your behavior has demonstrated that you don't need to be out of here. >> We're crazy about my child. >> Yeah, so are we, which is why I don't want to have to call CPS. >> Can I call my mom? You can call. >> No, you can give us your phone number for your your mom's number and we will call your mom. >> She lives in Arlington. She lives fantastic. >> Perfect. That's exactly what I wanted to hear. >> What's your mom's phone number? >> I'm going to call your mom and I'm going to try to figure out some care for your Korean. >> I need to call the vacation. >> No, just hang tight. Eventually, the officers took her into custody and the youngster was temporarily placed under the care of the Lynwood Police Department. Authorities later released the little one to a friend who arrived at the mall to take custody while the woman was arrested on a theft related charge.
