Roll down the window. Hello, what's going on? >> I was at what? >> All right, everyone. I'm Frank Slope. I'm a 25-year veteran of a sheriff's office here in Arizona. Today we're going to do some body cam breakdown. So, Uncovered is the channel that we found today's video. It's a great channel. We've used them before. We're definitely going to use them again. Sam seems to like this one, so we're going to see how it looks. And while we're doing it, we're going to be playing some body cam bingo. This happens to be card number three, but we're going to have cards one through five are a set and we sell them at bodycammingo.com. So, go there, check it out. You order them and we'll send them to you. So, let's use card number three, check out today's video. >> Okay, go ahead and uh shut off the vehicle for me real quick, all right? What's going on here? It looks like you had a little bit of an accident. What's your name? >> Erica. >> Erica, okay. I'm Officer Jordan from Roscoe Police Department. Uh any reason why you're sitting out here like this? It looks like you crashed into the truck. >> Right into a truck? >> I did not crash into the truck. >> Okay, do you live here? >> Yeah. >> You crashed into it. Do you not remember crashing into the car? It looks like you made contact with this truck that's sitting right here. Okay, what I'm going to have you do is I'm going to have you step out of the vehicle for me, okay? Please. Thank you. Honk that horn [snorts] whenever you want. Where you coming from tonight? >> Um I was in Machesney Park. >> You were in Machesney Park, okay. What were you doing out in Machesney Park? >> Getting Culver's. >> Culver's in Machesney Park, okay. >> Delicious Culver's concrete mixer. >> You crashed me into this this truck right here. >> I did not crash into the truck. >> Okay, here. Go ahead and step step over here. I'm going to show you what's going on over here, okay? You made contact with the truck here. Do you know whose truck this is? >> Yes. >> Go ahead and follow me. I'm going to step back to the uh back of your car here. >> Lots of snow. Culver's in Machesney Park? >> Or Roscoe? I'm not sure. Right up against What's the road? I don't know. I was just at Culver's. >> Have you had anything to drink tonight? >> I've had a car bliss. >> You had a car bliss. Okay, how long ago was that? >> An hour. >> It was an hour ago. Where did you have a car bliss at? >> Uh the Nest. >> At the Nest, okay. >> Maybe 2 hours. >> Pretty interesting scenario. Um they get a call. Looks like it's on private property. It's in someone's drive in apparently her driveway and she had run into the car that was already in her driveway. Um initially she's like, "No, there's no crash." And the cop's like, "Hey man, there's there those two cars connected. So, although not something that here in Arizona and apparently not in Illinois, not something that they're going to take a report on, but it's great probable cause to add to while you're arresting someone for DUI is that they were involved in a collision. So, it's great for the paperwork. Um take some pictures of it. You know, obviously they're going to contact people that are inside, make sure that it is her house and everything else, but it's uh you know, but they're not going to probably charge her with being involved in a collision, but it'll definitely be part of a DUI investigation. >> So, I'm I'm again just trying to figure out. We got a call that there's an accident out here. What I mean >> What? >> Clearly clearly ran into the truck. Okay, there's damage. I'm not 100% sure who your caller was, but there's damage to that truck. >> Do you know that for sure? >> What's that? That there's damage to the truck? I can walk over there and look at it and see that there's and there's somebody said that there was somebody the caller said that somebody made contact with that truck. A gray Jeep gray Jeep made contact with the truck. >> Heaven forbid in my holy >> New people. >> It's new people. Okay. >> New people. >> Okay, ma'am. So, you had a car bliss that was 2 hours ago. >> What do you guys want? I'm in my driveway. >> Okay. >> Doesn't matter. >> Not in your driveway. >> What rhetorical questions are you looking for? I moved from Texas. I'm here humbly looking for a job. >> you get here? >> Did you know that Medicare is about to start covering some GLP-1 weight loss drugs? And maybe that's not your thing, but what is? There are all kinds of Medicare plans across the country, and navigating them is confusing. That's why I wanted to tell you about this video sponsor, Chapter. Millions of seniors are on the wrong Medicare plan, and they don't even know it. You may not need weight loss drugs, but Chapter will make sure that your coverage continues to get you the right medications at the right price. Chapter advisors are salary-based, and they look for the best plan, not the one that makes them the biggest commission. So, if you want unbiased help with Medicare, give Chapter a call at 805-604-5905. You'll talk to a real person in the United States who will help you figure out exactly which plan is right for you. And they'll even tell you if you're already on the right plan. Chapter is free and has saved the average senior over $1,100 a year. So, give them a call today at 805-604-5905. Again, it's completely free, so you really have nothing to lose. >> I have a son. >> Beautiful. >> If you want to talk to him. >> Beautiful son. >> Um my son is inside if you want to talk to him. >> Okay. >> Mine's Erica. Erica >> Erica, can you do me a favor? Can you walk to the front of our squad car, please, real quick? It's right in front where the license plate is at. >> Actually, I want to take this for a walk. >> And what do you figure you had, about 20 alcoholic drinks tonight? >> 20? >> Yes, ma'am. Did you have about 20 alcoholic drinks? >> That seems so rude. >> Why? >> 20 alcoholic drinks? No, I wouldn't. I couldn't even >> You couldn't You couldn't handle You couldn't handle 20 alcoholic drinks? >> No. >> Neither could I. >> Not even a drink or if I tried. >> Did you have How much did you have to drink tonight? >> A few carb-less. >> A few what? >> Carb-less. >> Explain to me what carb-less is cuz I don't drink. >> It's like 100 calorie. I'm very health-conscious. >> Carb-less. >> How much alcohol does it have in it? >> Uh 5% >> 5%? >> Maybe less. >> Okay. >> I'm a very health conscious person. I don't drink calories just to consume them. And I'm >> smart >> around town and I >> Oh, you okay. All right. >> All right. So, I think that the I think the channel got what she was drinking wrong. I think she said carb-less. Like White Claw or something that when you drink it, it's got alcohol in it but no carbs. Which is in stark contrast to Culver's which is all carbs. Like all the bread, all the breading, all of the delicious concrete mixers that are one of my absolute favorites. I just get in a really small size so I'm not a fat deputy. Um but she seems concerned and and states several times that she's health conscious. But she's eating at Culver's. So, she's not that health conscious. I think we could Maybe we could all agree on that. >> So, you're new around here and that's why you you you don't drink. >> No. It's my lifestyle. I don't just drink like people do here. That was my point. I don't play slots and drink like it's a habit of my like feng shui of life. >> All right. >> My life >> I don't think feng shui of life means what you think it means. >> And not drink empty carbs. >> Oh, roger that. Okay. Um how far did you go in school? >> Uh I took some I went in cosmetology and then I went in pre my pre west requisites >> Okay. >> in uh for x-rays. >> All right. You know the alphabet. >> And alphabet? >> Yeah, do you know the alphabet? >> A >> I'm going to have a specific way for you to do it. >> Your tag is inside out. >> It doesn't surprise me. >> Oh, dang it. >> So, I want you to start with the letter D and go to the letter Q. Can you do that? >> N I T >> And make sure it's all there. >> H I J K L M N O P T Y Z >> Okay. All right. And then, how about your dexterity? You work out, right? I understand that you don't drink very often, okay? >> I don't. >> All right. So, do you feel like you're falling down drunk or just a little buzzed? >> Oh, no. I don't feel like I'm falling down drunk or I feel like I'm very No, I don't feel like I'm falling down drunk. I feel like I blocked someone that was drunk in my driveway to save them from not driving. Actually, and I'm getting reamed for it. >> Well, I feel that that you've had too much to drink tonight, all right? And so, at this point, we are going to arrest you for driving under the influence of alcohol. >> So, you'll notice that there was no walk and turn, there was no one-leg stand of the standardized field sobriety test battery. But, there's also snow on the ground and there's nowhere that's flat and dry and free of any debris. Um, it's super cold, so I don't know if they they just didn't want to make her do it because of that. Um, cuz there is obviously they they would have had to have used a shovel to shovel the ground free of all the the ice and snow that was there. So, if you're wondering why, um to my knowledge, that would be why they wouldn't. Um, it's not simply because it's cold, but everything in in the totality of the circumstances, probably better off um to not do those. And you have so much evidence of just her and how she looks and how she speaks and the fact that she was involved in a collision, you really don't need the FSTs. Like, she's she's done a good enough job of showing you that she's impaired already. >> I don't think that you're under the influence of any other drugs. I'm looking at your eyes. I'm not seeing any of that. Um, what we're going to do is I'm just going to have you step out. I'm going to have Officer Smith is just going to search you and make sure you don't have any weapons on you or any other contraband on you. Okay? Do you have anything sharp or anything like that that would stick us or anything like that? Okay? >> No. >> Okay. So, she's just going to go ahead. She's going to search you and and like I said, you are being arrested. >> In my own driveway? >> Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. >> Yeah, we do that. >> You drove from somewhere and got here. I don't know how you drove. >> did I Remember you told me that you drove here to get to your driveway? >> Was this a trick of Illinois? >> No, ma'am. It's not a trick. >> Illinois. >> Step out so I can do a search on you, okay? >> Who moves from Texas to Illinois? >> everybody after I search you, okay? Step out, please. >> Going in the wrong direction. >> you to turn around and face the car. >> So, she says she's from Texas, but she has moved to Illinois. I don't know why anyone would do that. I don't understand it. Texas is a great state. They had a great governor, all sorts of great senators and congressmen. They got shoreline of salt water where you can catch salt water fish. They've got plains, great hunting. Great. It's a great state. And then, not only did she move to Illinois, but then she makes fun of Midwesterners. Who makes fun of Midwesterners? They're like the nicest people in the United States. Like they are known for just being kind and nice and drinking milk with their meals. Like I love Midwesterners. So, she's over to me I buck. >> Go ahead and keep your hands out of your pockets for me. Thank you. >> Do you have anything that's going to hurt me, hon? I know that he asked you, but I'm going to ask you again, okay? Okay, are you wearing a bra right now? I'm going to go underneath, okay? Is this like Do you have a shirt underneath this or is this your shirt? >> This is my shirt. >> This is your shirt? Okay. Going to go like this. Make sure that there's nothing in there, okay? Okay. Okay, keep your hands behind your back for me. No, I can't feel anything. Okay. I'm I'm to double lock it so it doesn't cinch up on you. >> like everyone's is cold. >> So I can't talk to anybody um in my house. >> We're going to get your phone. Where's your phone at? >> It's in my car. >> Give me just a second. I'm trying to do this. Please don't move your hands. >> Can you do the um um paperwork and then do an inventory on the vehicle? We just need her purse and >> So her boyfriend wants nothing done about his car. >> The people in my house like my child? >> Yeah, we'll take care of everything, okay? Do you have someone that can um watch your child? Is there anybody else with your child in there? >> that I'm trying to make with you. >> Okay, I'm listening. Do you have any options? >> What are my >> out? >> Yeah, we'll talk to everybody in a second. Do you have somebody in the house that can take care of your child? >> Yeah. Um Just doesn't make sense to just uproot and >> Yeah, so unfortunately you did make the decision to drive after drinking. >> I didn't do anything when I'm in my own driveway. >> So you still drove. >> Doesn't work like that. >> Driving. >> guys like hunt me down or what? >> No, we got a call about somebody. We got a call from somebody saying that you were drunk. I don't know who it was from. Okay, give me just a second. >> There we go. >> Do you have the keys to your car? Do you know where they're at? >> No. >> No, okay. >> I need my >> And you're okay with your boyfriend watching your child? >> No, I he doesn't have any rights to that. >> So you don't want him to watch your child? >> Listen, I'm trying to help you. >> I know. >> I don't want to leave your child with someone that you're not comfortable with. >> Yeah, it's fine, but >> It's okay if he watches him. >> anything to Sydney or Josh. >> Not yet. I'll go I'll go ask them, but it's not up to me at this point, okay? >> Like I'm trying to understand as much as I can cuz this isn't >> Yeah. >> Okay, you understand. >> I'll go talk to them and then we'll go from there, okay? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Please. >> Yep. Okay, I'm going to unbuckle you and I'm going to have step out, okay? Then you're going to have to walk around with me, okay? Go and step out. >> Thank you for lying to me. >> way. >> Did you lie to me? >> I did not. I did. I talked to you. I told you I was going to talk to you. Let's talk about it in there, okay? >> Well, you didn't have any money. >> It's okay. We'll just talk about it in there. >> Yeah, what? You're hesitating. >> I'm thinking about what I'm going to have you do. Yeah, can I have you I'm going to uncuff you and I want you to turn all your pockets inside out, okay? Um unlock your fingers. I'm trying to uncuff you. Okay, Erica. >> Do you need to use the restroom at all? Before we get started. >> Let me out of the can. >> Okay. So, you're being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. I have some paperwork that I have to go through. Once we get through that paperwork, then I'll let you make as many phone calls as you want to make. Okay? You have a right to a lawyer for advice before we ask you any questions and have them with you during questioning. Do you understand that? >> Yeah. >> If you can't afford a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before we ask you any questions, if you wish. Do you understand that? You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand that? All right. How much did you have to drink once you got home? >> I didn't have anything. >> Cuz you were still sitting in the driver's seat of your vehicle, right? >> I wasn't sitting there. I was conversing with the person in front of me. >> And did you accidentally hit his vehicle or did you purposely hit him? >> no accidental anything. >> So, you purposely hit his vehicle. >> up close so he could not leave. >> Okay, cuz he's intoxicated. >> "I'm not saying he's drunk, but I'm saying like I'm not condoning any stupid behavior." >> to drink at the New Year's time. >> No, I do not condone that. I do condone >> All right. >> logic. >> All right. >> What are you talking about? >> And I just pulled up and no one's calling >> Okay. >> the cops on him. >> I know, man. I think I ESP and we just went poof. We're going to go visit America. >> And I don't care if my neighbors did or not cuz I know them too and I >> What that would be some somebody calling 911. That >> What city are >> Right. Well, nothing out of my 1/4 of the time that I'm actually home >> What what city are you in right now? >> Roscoe >> Okay. Normally I do the passenger side. You know, tonight was a little exception. >> It's really warm back there. Go ahead and sit down. >> The suspect was [music] charged with driving under the influence. >> All right, car number three, absolute flop. She said nothing. I didn't get a single I couldn't even stretch anything into a box. So, maybe better luck next time. What you could have luck with right now is being a subscriber.
