any idea why I might have stopped you today I have no idea well you are driving down the road texting with both hands and driving with your knees my car was on autopilot um I don't think there's a stipulation in Arizona state law for my car drives itself so I can text while I'm driving I was right I actually went to the judge in the jurisdiction where the the stop took place and talked to the judge and the judge agreed with Tesla which is look just because this car has a self-driving mode doesn't mean you can put your head down and ignore everything that's going on ultimately behind the scenes I did not write the guy ticket um I thought it was a little bit gray and I don't like writing tickets in the gray area so I gave them a warning we pulled up the Tesla website um under their support/ autopilot uh the third paragraph down autopilot enhanced autopilot and full self-driving capability are intended for use with a fully attentive driver who has their hands on the wheel and is prepared to take over at any moment
