On March 1st, 2024, officers responded to the airport after receiving reports of a passenger causing a disturbance. >> I'm Frank Slope. I am a 24-year veteran of the sheriff's office out here in Arizona. Today, we're going to be doing some body cam breakdown. So, NY Detective is where we found this video. They are the goat of videos that happen in airports. So, we're going to give this one a check out while we're playing body cam bingo. So, [cheering] we got a card. This [screaming] card's performed well for us in the past. We're going to see if we can uh how it's going to perform today. >> United. Hey, they normally don't run into problems. >> I am going to tell you >> everybody. >> No, I need I need to get home. I need to go back to New England and live where I live. >> All right. Can Can I talk to this uh guy real quick? What's your name, man? >> I haven't done nothing to you. I haven't done nothing to you. I'm literally just trying to report. >> I haven't done nothing. It's kind of like I didn't do anything >> because I'm about to fly almost 2,000. >> I'm going to circle it. >> United. >> Take that one right off the bat. >> Did you not tell me to get out of your face? I don't give a I don't give a damn about her. >> I I I have a whole No. Come over here. Come over here. Talk to talk to my partner. >> I don't even know her. >> All right. What What's your name, man? >> No. Stop. >> What's your name? >> She She's not going to want to talk to you, man. That's why we got called out. >> Okay. Yes, sir. >> Take a step back. Take a step back. Take a step back for me. And what's your name, sir? >> I'm I'm Bryce Nman. If I was going to her up, I don't give a damn about her. Okay. >> I really don't. >> Okay. So, >> I just want to get back. I don't even >> You're a terrible person. >> Name from Sam and Sam. I don't care. >> You don't have any weapons or anything like that on you, do you? >> No, I don't. >> Go ahead. Turn around. Let me rescue you real quick. Make sure you have any weapons. >> I don't have anything. >> Okay. >> How How are you going to >> Sorry. Where you flying to? >> To Maine. Maine happens to be one of my favorite states. I did my undergrad there. Uh so I spent four years there, traveled all over the state. It's beautiful. The people are nice. The hunting and fishing is great. Um and because the people are nice, I don't think they want him back. He probably belongs in Austin. I mean, Texas probably doesn't also want him, but if he's going to be anywhere in Texas, I feel like Austin's probably the right place. But I guarantee there's mayers up there that live in Oldtown, which is an awesome town way up in the north end of Maine. Um, they don't want him. >> Where? Right here. Right here. >> Where do I put my bag? >> We'll move your bag over here close to me. Let's talk over here. >> Here's the deal. What's What's your name? I don't know what to call you. What's your name? >> Uh, my name is Bryce, but I go by I I go by Brooks. >> Brooks. Okay. So, Brooks, here's the deal. United We'll shake hands when everything's said. Oh, I I didn't know if you were trying to or >> Oh, no. So, United denied you a flight today. >> Yeah, I didn't. >> I don't care. >> Well, here's the deal. Um, you said you're flying to Maine. What What part of Maine are you flying to? >> I live I live in Oldtown. I live in northern Maine. >> Oldtown, by the way, makes great canoes there in Oldtown, Maine. >> He never had a ticket. He was getting ready. >> He start he started off with this young lady back here. Um he was upset with her because she kept telling him he didn't have to fight for today. So he gives her her phone his phone. She pulls up the reservation. Reservation is for the 28th. >> So as she's telling him that, he's like, "No, you're going to put me on today." So she calls me to say, "I think I got a red light." >> You don't have to overhaul your whole life in 2026. Start with simple swaps like upgrading the snacks to your pantry to ones with real ingredients like Masa. It's the easiest way to eat clean without feeling like you're on a diet. Masa chips contain just three ingredients. Organic niximalized corn, sea salt, 100% grass-fed beef tallow. That's it. No seed oils, no mystery chemicals, just real food. And these chips don't only avoid all the bad stuff, but they taste incredible, too. Masa is nothing like regular chips. With Masa, you'll feel satisfied and energetic with no crash or bloat afterwards. Personally, my favorite flavor is these habanero. They're the best nacho chip you'll ever taste. You ready to give Masa a try? Go to masachips.com/frank. Use code frank for 25% off your first order. Or simply click the link in the description. Or you can also scan the QR code to claim this delicious offer. And if you don't feel like ordering online, Masa is now available nationwide at your local Sprout Supermarket. So stop by and pick up a couple bags before they're all gone. >> So she comes over and then when I walk over there, then he goes, "I'm not a ray light. I'm not intoxicated. Why would you say you know what that was?" I'm like, "Yeah." I'm like, "How you know?" I'm like, "How do you know what a red light is?" >> Damn. We didn't even know what a red light was. We're like, "What is what?" >> So, that's what kind of was like, "Okay, >> I just learned something new." >> Pardon me. Right. That's what I thought to myself. So, then I said, "Well, how do you know what a red light is?" And he's like, "I don't talk to her." So, she just needs to go away. I said, "Okay, go over there. I got it." So, I started talking to her. And then I asked him for she was ask was asking him for the reservation. And he kept saying, "I don't have it." I'm like, "Sir, you just showed her something on your phone. That's how she knows what's there." So he gives me the phone and then I pull up the reservation. So I explain to him like your flight was two days ago and he was like you're two days late. I fly a lot, right? I fly back to see dad on the east coast. I fly to Florida to see my friends. I I've got I love to travel and hunt. I spend a lot of time in airports. I have never in all of my years of traveling shown up at the airport two days late and been like, "God, I can't believe I missed my flight." That doesn't happen in Frank Slope's world. I'm like a two hours early kind of guy. Get through security, find my gate, find a bar, sit down, you know, eat a bowl of soup, drink a beer, relax, knowing that I made it through security, and jump through all those hoops. That's that's a Frank Slope travel experience. Showing up two days late, I don't even know what I would do. I would have to be in a coma. Like I'd have to be in the hospital in a coma and then wake up and go to the airport for me to miss a flight by two days. I don't even know how this happens. >> At this point, you disrespected my employees. You can take your phone and you can buy it online. Have a great day. >> He walked on the side of my counter and started saying, "You going to make me hurt you." Hurt you. So I'm like, >> "Oh, hell no. I ain't deal with this, bro." >> Absolutely not. That is unacceptable. >> I'm going to call the police. I'm asking you to please walk away from my counter at this time. I'm refusing service to you. Please walk away. >> Gotcha. >> You know, making threats of physical violence towards other people is a crime, right? And you can go to jail for that. >> I understand. >> They're not wanting to press charges right now, >> which is a shame. >> But you've actually committed a crime that you could go to jail for. >> No. No. What I'm saying is >> you need like I I understand. I'm listening. towards the center. But the fact of >> I left everybody alone you I don't know their names but they had said it's not bothering I don't bother anybody. >> Yeah. >> Not exactly true. >> All I can tell you is what they told me and I have multiple people telling me the same thing. So right now we're trying to figure things out for you. But at at this point with you being in talk listen just listen. >> You're not going to fly with any airline today the way you are right now. I can guarantee you that. That's based on my experience. You're not. >> You've threatened people and you've had too much to drink. My recommendation truly is to try to catch a flight tomorrow. Have no drinks. Come back sober tomorrow and try it all again. And then you're going to get home. But I guarantee you the way you've acted today, no airlines know your phone. >> It's a good explanation. I really like this guy. >> What's your name? >> Pat Nelson right here. >> Just so I can address you. >> Okay, I appreciate that. Your your mom is coming to get you. >> Perfect. >> Your mom is coming to get you. She's on her way. So, what we're going to do is we're going to take you downstairs. Let you sit in the chairs. She's going to when she picks you up, she's going to find other flights and have you fly out. should tell you about the tragedy about losing your dog. You guys are both but >> everyone knows I'm a dog lover. I have I've put down a dog was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in my life. Sad. Um a different kind of sad. And I I get it. But losing your dog and then drinking before you go to the airport is probably not the best sequence of events. like maybe get to the airport not two days late. Um, get through TSA security and then find a great bar, sit down, listen to some sad songs. You know, Chris Stapleton's got a sad song about his dog. Uh, Hardy's got a song about his dog. Like, there's lots of sad dog songs. Put in your earbuds, drink a beer, think about your dog, then get on your plane and fly home. But don't drink before you go to the airport and then have to navigate all of the trials and tribulations of getting through an airport while you're drunk and sad because it's just not going to work out well. The important thing right now is just to get you where you're not stumbling around or you know to get you where you can pass the TSA checklist because they're more strenuous on checking people than the ticket counter is here. Okay. So, and I'll agree that's the best decision to make. >> Okay. >> What did y'all talk about? >> Just talked about solutions for me. And the solution we came up with is her coming from Round Rock to come pick you up right now. That's what she's going to do. >> Okay. So, let's go downstairs and bring your stuff downstairs. I'll grab her back and once she picks you up, you guys go back to her house with me. I'm over here. Once she picks you up, >> once she picks you up, >> perfect. Find other flights. Okay. Get you She'll get you another flight over there. I thought it would. >> So, these officers for Austin PD are awesome. They absolutely, man. They they talk this guy down. They calm him down. Um they find a solution to his problem, which is that he's drunk at the airport and can't fly anywhere. Um they give him the solution. They work everything out and then they're like, "All right, let's just go downstairs and wait for your mom." And then you look down and you see how much time is left in the video. And I was like, "No, there's going to be more." So, I thought this was going to end amicably. And I just don't think it's going to go that way. >> I hate all of you. >> You hate all of us. >> I mean, I love all of you, but I hate all of you. >> Well, sorry. Sorry you feel that way, but we're just trying to help you out, man. All right. So for you, sir. >> All right. Well, I appreciate it. Let's make our way downstairs and I'll grab your bag for you and we'll get you taken care of. Your mom here, all that good stuff. You get on a flight of different today. And that might be for the best. >> Okay. >> I like it. >> Right. >> This is his those are the unattended bags. >> Oh, okay. >> So, if you want to follow Officer Kid, we'll head downstairs. I'll grab your bag for you. Okay. >> Officer Kid right there. >> Just follow him. We'll show you the way. can ruin my life. What causes this? I'm >> sorry. >> What caused this? >> You being drunk. >> Completely honest. What causes? Is you drinking? >> Y. >> That's the answer. >> Who Who said I was drinking? >> No one had to tell you were drinking. >> I can tell you were drinking. >> Yeah. >> Wait. What do you mean by that? >> Look at you. >> I'm not going to debate your level of intoxication. If you want me to debate it with you, to debate it in the back police car. For now, I cut you a break. >> No, I just I just want >> pretty serious break. >> That's your drum. I don't have to explain to you. I'm sure they have. You're stumbling around. Your words are slurred. >> Yep. >> Can't think. And I'm I'm not trying to talk down to you. I'm trying to help you. Actually, grab onto the rail so you don't fall. Use your balance. >> What I'm asking? >> Don't fall down the escalator. What? What legend? >> It's a big airport. I don't think I've ever been to Austin. >> Hey, here are your choices. Here are your choices. Hear me out. Do you want to sit in a chair over here or do you want to sit outside? Choices are yours. >> Stop treating me like a criminal. >> If you talk to me like that again, I will take your ass to jail. Listen to what I'm telling you. >> Take me into jail. I don't >> Okay, I don't care either. >> That's it. Just like that. >> We give you plenty of chances, dude. couldn't >> couldn't let his mouth keep his body out of trouble. >> No, no, no, no, no, no. Now you're going to jail. >> Take a deep breath. Take a deep breath. >> Instead of making it I wanted to do is just stand here. >> Listen to me. Listen to me. >> I didn't use sign language to you at all. Did I? No. I spoke to your mother. I found a way for you to go home safe. I understand that you lost your dog. Okay? I sympathize with you on that. We're trying to cut you a break. The last thing I need from you is to use file language towards me when I'm trying to help you out. You listen. Look at Look at me. Do you understand what I'm telling you right now? >> Yes, sir. >> Then why would you do that to me? >> That's not personal at all. >> If it's personal or not, I just >> You're responsible for everything you're saying. >> I just Yeah. No one's ever held me accountable for what I've said before. [ __ ] some consequences were I just I don't know how to feel. I was supposed to fly out to my house. >> You're taking out on everyone including the people at the ticket counter. Like I said, you could have gone to jail for just what you said up there. But I understand you have an idea on you. What's your idea? >> I don't know. >> Okay. >> If you put me in the jail, I'm going to be pretty mad. >> Think I care about how mad you're going to get? Been dropped 21 years. Made a lot of people mad. >> I like this guy. Listen, here's here's what I'm going to do with you. I'm going to take you to a sobering center. It's not jail. >> You'll go to the sobering center. Your mom can pick you up from the sobering center. Okay? >> Don't do that to my mom, please. >> Okay? Pick up from jail. Which one do you want? >> So, let me start this out with the base level of we don't have sobering centers in Arizona. We have jail. >> Um, Austin, maybe it's an Austin thing. Um, man, they are sure nice. Where that that officer was like, "Look, I'm not going to take you to jail and take you to sober center and you could get sober there and it's not jail." I was like, "Man, they are nice." Because here we're like, either you leave on your plane or you go to jail. That's it. Like, there is no in between like, "Ah, we'll put you in cuffs, but we'll take the cuffs off when we get there." And yeah, I I don't know about all that, but I mean, it sounds like a good idea in theory, but I don't know. >> You're not staying here anymore. >> I don't need to stay here. >> Okay. >> Did you ever see an ID with this? >> No. He gave me a name. He told me Bryce. Yes, sir. >> No, you're not. >> Way you go. >> You're coming with Let me explain. >> You're ruining my life. >> Let me explain. >> Nope. You're ruining your life. >> You're ruining my life. >> Let me explain to you what I'm take where I'm taking you, okay? I'm taking you to what's called a sobering center. It's not jail. >> I don't need that. I don't need that. >> You do. >> I don't give you choices. I'm telling you what I'm going to do for you. >> I I gave you a choice to pick my life. >> Okay. Jail we go. It's going to be jail. >> If you don't get to pick my life, I'm the only one who pays my bills. >> Yeah. You can pay your bills when you get out of jail. >> No. Stop. Don't Don't add a resistant charge. Don't add a resistant charge. >> I like this guy. What is he saying? Just walk to the front of the car. Walk to the front of the police. That's it. >> Austin PD to be nothing but nice to you. >> What? What? What? What exactly are you saying? >> I was going to call your mother at the sobering center, give her the address, and have her pick you up from there. >> That's what I was going to do for you. >> Okay. >> Can you just calm down? >> Okay. >> That's what I want you to do. It's not jail. >> Your mom's Your mom's going to pick you up at a different location. She's going to drive you to her house. They're going to she's going to schedule you another flight. You come back and fly out. Just make you some milk and cookies. Rub your tum tum. You'll be fine. >> Just relax. >> I got to take stuff out of your pockets because when I put people in the back of my car, I got to make sure they don't have any weapons on. >> Where? Where? Where am I? >> I'll take you to the Sobering Center. >> Unbelievable. >> The sobering center. >> Okay. >> Okay, that's it. When we get there, I'll call your mom, tell her the address, she'll pick you up from there. >> Is that okay? >> But you have to cooperate with them. If you act the way that you're acting with us, they will not take you there. >> Yeah. I'm just I'm just confused because >> because I think that it's something that I've been drinking. It's just >> I I'm confused of where where where am I going? >> Okay. I was going to leave you here. Additionally, I was going to leave you here. You cursed at me. I didn't like that. So, I said, "Okay, I'm not going to leave you here. If you're cursing at me, you can curse at anybody else. I'm going to take you someplace else off site. Now, depending on how you act, when I'm transporting you to that place, if you start cursing at me again or acting bizarre in the backseat by car, I'm going to take you to jail. And there, they're going to keep you for anywhere between 8 to 12 hours. Sobering center, they'll keep you till your mom comes to pick you up. That's it. >> So, it's like a babysitter. He's taking them to an adult babysitter. >> Make sure that we're checking the handcuffs right now to make sure that they're they're fitted properly. Okay. All right, they're lot. They're not going to get any tighter on you. Okay. I mean, what do you think? I'm a [ __ ] criminal. Like an animal. >> No, that is what we do with everybody, man. >> So, okay. >> Let's do the challenge. >> Best way is to kind of face us and sit down. That's the easiest way. Okay. Just face me. kind of turn towards me. This way, the other way. This way. >> And then kind of just sit down and we'll make sure you don't fall or anything. >> There we go. How easy that is. >> We can't >> swing your feet in when you get to the center. Is that >> I'm going to say there's a complaint about handcuffs in there. >> That's why we want to take you to the sobering center. There's medical professionals taking care of you. That's it. It's not >> Okay. Then what I need >> that's two >> is everybody goes in the backseat of a patrol car like that. That's our policies we have to do. >> I'll go ahead and >> Why are you doing this? >> Watch your back. >> No. Please loosen me. >> No, they get loosened this side. >> They're cutting into my >> They're not cutting into your wrist. >> Yes. The >> No, I'm not I'm not take I'm not loosening them. Let's go. >> What? Stop. My >> Let's go. You're going to have [ __ ] in my Give me my backpack. >> No, you don't get your backpack. It gets turned into property. >> Property as property. Not like >> they in the jail. >> You can't make demands anymore. You're not in charge. >> No, you're not. >> That's a nice big salad port. I like it. >> Why? Why am I being so treated like [ __ ] >> Treated like property. >> This is your property. It gets turned in. >> No, it doesn't. >> Okay. I promise. >> No, it doesn't. He was taken to jail and charged with public intoxication. >> NY detective gave us a good video, but not a body cam bingo. So, we only ended up with two. I was kind of I was hoping I was going to get I know the law, but I don't think he was sober enough to remember that. So, now we'll see. That's as good as I can do on that one. What does give you a bingo is joining the channel. So, you join the YouTube channel. When I fly, when I'm in airports flying, I make videos and when you're a member, you're the only people that can see them. So, I make videos when I'm traveling. Usually on my way there, I'll let you know I'm in the airport. And then I try to post every day while I'm somewhere else outside of Arizona. Um, just to give you guys a little kind of backstory and and little background on what I'm doing when I'm traveling. So, but you only get that if you're a member. So, join, become a member, and you get all the uh all the behind the scenes.
