I will give it back. >> I don't care. >> I'm going give it back. >> That's not how it works. >> To this pregnant shoplifter and her friend who thought being with child and playing the race card would save them from arrest. >> Get off of me. I'm a touch. >> I don't trust no glasses. All right. >> All y'all be dirty. >> Oh, big surprise. >> She ain't big surprise. >> You can't handle no [ __ ] a minor. That's how you handle women. >> Who raised you? >> Here are times when pregnant Karens think they can get away with shoplifting. Starting with this shoplifting Karen who believed without an iota of doubt that a pregnancy scare could grant her immunity from the law. >> But the children I'mma stand right here. I'm going stand right here. I'm pregnant. I'm going stand right here. >> You shouldn't be smoking if you're pregnant. >> I'm nervous. >> But do you do you know where they're at? >> You do. So just tell us so we can be done with this and you can go. >> Yes. On August the 19th, 2025, early in the afternoon, officers with the city of Akran Police Department responded to a call at a glasses shop where they were told a customer had shoplifted and already left the business premises. This sounded strange on its own, but with a pregnant Karen, the unimaginable his routine. How >> you doing? >> Well, better >> Gucci. Always Gucci. Um, are are you guys looking to breast charges? >> Oh, yeah. >> Do they have them already? >> Um, >> yeah. Can you give me uh the suspect information? So here I am. >> That's the car there. >> How you doing? >> I didn't know the whole story. So >> um yeah, >> do me a favor. Are you the owner of the car? I'm going to have you step out real quick. Okay. >> Which one they say this suspect? You >> uh back back here. I I saw the gold grill. I saw that. >> Can we walk back over here? >> Let's go back over here. Any weapons on you or anything like that? You want to step out for me? >> I have to step out. She don't like to show them. They ain't say nothing about me. >> Yeah, they did. Because because we're doing an investigation, so you do have to step out. >> Oh, no. I'm not I'm not in it. I'm not in it. I'm not in it. I would No, I'm pregnant. I don't have nothing. >> Well, you are going to step out. I'm just let you know. >> Okay. What did I have to do with this? >> Uh because you match our suspect description. >> No, David, not me. >> No, actually description is black female and a black shirt. >> A black male, black shirt with a gold grill. >> Okay. Well, that's I'm not saying you're under arrest, but >> Huh? >> You want to step out real quick? Step out. >> I'm under arrest. >> I said you were not under arrest. >> It wasn't my job. >> But excuse me, you do not I'm going to stand right here. I'mma stand right here. I'm pregnant. And that's what I'm getting my cigarettes, please. >> Those are my cigarettes. >> Hold on one second. >> Can I have my cigarettes, please? >> No, you can hold on one second. Look, you're not in control of the situation. You're going to make it worse for yourself. I'm sorry. Okay. I'm sorry. >> You were making this way worse than it needs to be. Okay. This is very simple. All you do is follow follow orders. That's it. Simple. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. Now, here me and you're going to step back here. Okay. >> I'm sorry. I need you. >> I'm about myself. All right. Well, don't yourself. That's disgusting. >> Yes. That's what I want. I don't want to be okay. >> Okay. No, that's all I was wanting is truth and and obviously we know we know the vehicle. We got the suspect descriptions, everything like that. So that's all you can either talk now and get yourself out of this or we can and we can move on with life or what I feel. >> Uh well, it depends on it depends on where we're going with this, right? What So tell me what happened. >> I'm going to be a snitch. Can I go home after this? >> If if you're not involved, then yeah, absolutely. You can go home. >> Okay. >> Uhhuh. >> Okay. Were you in the there with him though? >> No. And I'm not saying that you took him. I'm asking. I was in there with I was in there with her and I went to go get my get my dad some her friends some Ray-B bands but they didn't they didn't and my car wouldn't go through I had my car it wouldn't go through so I left >> I left I don't none of that type of [ __ ] >> okay and like I said if that's where are the frames at now then I don't know where >> he had he took them fine you can stay back here you have to go back out there and talk to him you can hang out back here with me >> yes I will get your cigarettes >> can I go home >> not just yet will look if you're not involved then that's fine then you go home if you weren't the one that took them that's on Come back up here. >> The officers kept the investigation moving, [music] but suspicious details began to emerge. Dark details that maybe pointed to the pregnancy claim not being real or maybe hinted that they were dealing with someone far more reckless than they had anticipated. >> You got a lighter? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> You don't know where these frames are at the Okay, that's not just hang out there. Don't leave. She said he took the mail. Yeah. She's not getting anything, but she say she just popped open detailers. Okay. So, and she said he took the money right there. They were all in here. She had to buy some frames. The car. So he doesn't know where I'm going to take the team in just about I have a bladder. >> Okay, we we while we're doing this, we can't let you go. Okay, you're going to have to hang out for a minute. >> We shouldn't be smoking if you're pregnant. >> I'm trying to be I got my kids at home, baby. I'm about to go. >> Okay, that's fine. >> Okay, that's >> okay. Now, I'm going to ask you why they have them in there, right? >> On you. You don't have them on you. >> I don't You mind if I just check that real quick? [ __ ] Nothing's in my >> That's my money for my >> That's fine. You have your money. >> This is my money. That's what I'm saying. >> You don't know where they're at in the car? >> No. Me, too. I don't I'm tell I'm >> Has he always been in the front seat there? >> Yes. >> Huh? >> He's never been in the back seat. >> Only in the front? >> Like just now? like since you guys left. >> Okay. Where did you guys go after the cops? >> Did you say you went to a beauty store or something like that? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. A& he was standing out there by the old I talked to him. He guided me and then he pulled off like I don't want I'm pissing on myself but I'm not going to kiss outside cuz I don't need no that's just you don't nobody even knows that we we ain't there right >> the officers had already noticed a couple of major red flags in her story. It pushed them to modify and change their modus operandi. Soon they suddenly offered her an option that she could not easily turn down. >> You guys find the frames. What's that? I try to keep it real with everybody here. >> I know. And that's that's why that's why you're the one. I'll try to be real with you. >> That's that's why you're going to be the one that gets to go, right? >> I don't want to be the one. >> But do you do you know where they're at? >> You do. So, just tell us so we can be done with this and you can go. >> Yes. >> And I can just walk off the >> I'm done. I didn't do nothing. Let Well, let me get your information first. What What are your warrants for? >> Petty. >> Okay. If they're petty, then you get a summoned on the way or we can send you to jail. That's how this works now. That's where we're at now. >> See, now you train them. You said you trained them. Now you train. >> No. No. This is This is >> Yes. But if you have warrants, I can still give you a summon. You go on your way and you go to court, right? If there if as long as as long there are no felony. As long as there are misdemeanor warrants. Okay. >> I don't have I don't want to be in legal because then they going to know he got to get out somebody. >> So where? >> Okay. I figure he got back and I go home. >> I'm still going to get turn. >> No, he trained on me. He told me that we had to deal. He told me to walk up with nothing without you saying nothing to me. >> Just tell me where they at. I don't get >> I go home. Please don't. I'll tell you what. Can I go home? >> Okay. You already have warrant. So now I'm going to send you to jail. only him. >> I did not ponder him. >> Come on. >> I swear I didn't go. Hold on. Hold on. She said you >> He said I didn't ponder. He told me. >> He said I didn't bother. He said I did not ponder. >> He said I did not bother. I didn't ponder. >> Why would y'all put my job put me in there? >> Okay. >> So, let's do that then. All right. Tiffany. Now, see now they me. >> Why are you writing me like that, sir? >> Because you're still failed to disclose. So, that's >> And I'm pregnant. You cannot help me. >> Yeah. First, let's start with your name. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Oh, Tiffany, you got a million warrants. >> No, I don't. >> Oh, yes, you do. I signed warrants on you for stealing down the valley at the liquor store. >> Oh, that was back in the day. >> Oh, that was back in the day. What are you doing? >> It's my money. >> It's money. She didn't have >> She don't want to give it that up. I said, "Whatever." >> Put it in your pants. >> Okay. >> Well, go get it when they get to jail. >> I don't have nothing but Stop. Okay. >> Okay. Stop me. >> Glad I got her. Please. Please. >> I knew there was something in there. Tiffany, stop. Here. >> Do you see the camera? You're on camera. You have rocks in your in your pants. It's not going down your pants. Stop. >> Stop. Tiffany, stop. >> And you're using a smoking cigarettes and stealing. >> You got to calm down. All right. You got to calm down. All right. My arm hurt. Please. >> Well, don't you me. my my arm. Baby, you twist my arm my ear. Let me let him down. >> The pregnancy card was never going to make her actions disappear. But entitlement has a way of blinding people to reality, just as consequences have a way of bringing them back to it. >> She got she got more honest. She got more. >> No, I don't. I'm here because I had to be dinner. Had to be I had to feed anybody. No. I don't have no I don't have nothing on me. I don't have no I don't That's you. You don't know what that is. I'm getting serious. I'm not going to lie. >> I give you some help. Please. >> What do you need for help? >> Please help. >> Please. You need help with >> What do you need help with? >> I'm ding my stomach. I'm serious. I hope you don't be a breath. I'm 5 months pregnant. I am. >> You want to check out by med unit? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> The door is hot as [ __ ] >> Oh, yeah. We'll roll out the windows for you then. Can you tell me what y'all tell me what's going on? >> Um, >> yeah, >> they can take you can take me back to the store, whatever. They'll tell you. I never went back there. >> Okay. >> Fix my glass. >> What beauty store did you guys get to go to though? >> It's right there across from the It's I don't even know the name of the place. It's right there. >> It's a Do they Is it like Do they do hair there or do they sell? >> I have no idea. I've never been. >> It's a blue building. Blue building. >> The building. Okay. >> Is it in like a plaza? Like a a >> It's not in the plaza. And who was the person that you talked to? >> I didn't go into >> Yeah. But now she wants cuz she has 50,000 warrants like felony F4s, F3s. >> Can you bring a bottle of water off my baby? >> I I will roll on the window and turn the air off right now. But And yeah, it was $100 that she got for it cuz that's all she had on her was that brand new. It was brand new when we got it. No, it was in her under. She may have been somehow we were here for 15 minutes with her talking to her, a whole conversation with her. The other person walked up and all a sudden a bike comes out of her mouth and was like, >> I didn't even see it in her mouth. [ __ ] like this right here. Where >> she had? So she has a theft misdemeanor from us, theft misdemeanor from Fairlon, Portage County smuggling contraband into prison, Stark, an F4 for grand theft, FECC contempt for fail to comply, and a misdemeanor theft out of Wadsworth. Okay, another question for you. Okay, who who went inside the beauty shop and sold the glasses? Sold the glasses? She didn't. Did she go in by herself or you going with her? >> She just went by herself. >> Okay. Do you know how much she sold them for? Cuz she had that $100 on her. She had a brand new $100 bill. So, I'm saying it was at least $100. >> I ain't going through. I don't know. >> Okay. >> I know that's >> She didn't say anything or nothing like that though. Like >> Okay. All right. Thanks. >> In the end, the woman was charged with theft, possession of illicit substances, and she also had to deal with her outstanding warrants. The last pregnant Karen was reckless, just like the next one who was caught using a baby diaper to hide substances. >> But who's the mother of the baby? >> What's your name? >> The mother. Who's the Are you the mother? >> My baby's in the car. >> Yeah, we got your baby. [panting] >> And I'm pregnant. Please, sir. I'm going to get in trouble. >> Well, you shouldn't have. We found on your son >> and his wife >> and his parents. Oh, that's not me. >> On May the 14th, 2024, [music] officers with the Melbourne Police Department were called to a Lululemon store where a pregnant woman and an accomplice had what seemed to be a strange but effective shoplifting arrangement that had been working for them up until that Thursday evening. >> Roll your windows down. >> How you doing? >> 10 is going to be it. >> How you doing? >> Do me a favor. Step out of the vehicle. >> Okay. >> Just let you know everything recorded on body cam. All right. >> Me? >> Yeah. Everything's being recorded on body cam. I have to let you know. >> Okay. All right, I'm going to read your rights real quick. Okay, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say against the law, >> you have a right to attorney if you can't afford them. One, it could be appointed you by the court. You understand? >> So, what are you doing stealing from Sunglassette today? >> Who? Me? >> Yeah, you. We have video of you stealing from Sunglass. >> Can I see it? >> Yeah, we can pull up the video. >> I saw it 100% you. >> Who? Me? >> New Jersey Hotel. >> Stay back to the rear of the car. >> Okay, one second. >> Go to the rear of the car. >> Go to the rear of the car. Jersey Hotel. >> Can I just put the baby in the park? >> Take the car seat out and put it on the back of the car. >> It's one or the other. Either take the car seat out >> and put it on the trunk or you hold them. >> Let me just fill the seat up. >> Huh? >> Who's the mother? >> She's run the auto all the way. >> She went, >> but who's the mother of the baby? >> Which >> the mother? Who's the Are you the mother? >> Who's the mother? >> I just call her. I don't know my whole name. >> Okay. Do you know where the baby is? >> The Do I know who the baby is? >> Yeah. >> Which one? >> Who's the mother? >> Anessa. Vanessa with >> I don't know her real name. >> Is she here with you today? >> Yeah. >> Her answer seemed to confirm the officer's suspicion that they were working together. And maybe the more confident one was still inside the store, even if she might have already sensed that something was off and that the situation was starting to close in on her. Get your arm out. >> Okay. My baby's in the car. >> Yeah, we got your baby. >> And I'm pregnant. Can I get off my stomach? >> As soon as you got handcuffs, huh? >> Please, sir. I'm going to get in big trouble. >> Well, you shouldn't have called. >> Okay, I will give it back. >> I don't care. >> I will give it back. >> That's not how it works. >> Okay. >> Give me your arm. >> Okay. I'm not going to go to jail forever. Please. too much. Put your hand on your back. >> I'm not coming now. I got my baby. >> We got a second. >> We got a second. >> Can you give her a call so she could get the baby? >> Can you call her so she can come pick up the baby? >> No phone. >> We don't believe so. We're double checking. >> Her phone's in the car. Why would you go to the mall without her phone? >> It was >> I don't know where she was. >> We see this every day. All right. Huh? >> We see this every day. >> Mhm. You guys went in the mall together and you guys both shoplift. We got it all on video. >> I shoplift. >> Yes, you did on video. Sunglass both of them. >> No, I didn't. >> Stay back here. >> I'm just trying to make sure the baby Okay. >> Can I open the door? >> You did? >> I did. >> Just have parked by Oh, hold off. >> Yeah. And we're going to try and see if our relatives will come with the baby. Roll. Roll. Sit on your butt. Sit right there. >> Nothing until I go like, >> please. She doesn't know. >> Stop talking. >> She doesn't know. >> Stop talking. >> She doesn't know. Please. She doesn't know. >> Now they got to go inside. >> She doesn't know. >> Listen to me. You're under arrest, right? >> Okay. But she >> Listen to me. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can or will be used against you in the court of law. >> You have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford one, one will be provided for you. Everything's recorded right here. Okay. >> Trouble with this. >> Do you have receipt for this? >> Yes, it's in the car. >> How about this? >> It's a car. >> How about this? >> Yes. >> This is a car. That's why I said >> this is a car. >> Yes, it is. >> We're searching the entire car. >> Okay. >> The entire car. >> Soon, the officers began going through her hall. And it didn't take long before subtle patterns [music] started to emerge. choices that showed that she wasn't just grabbing at random, but she was following a preference that [music] quietly set her apart from an ordinary shoplifter. >> And Lulu, go to Lulu, too. >> I'm pregnant nowhere. >> My phone and everything. There's nothing in there. >> My phone's in the building. >> Ma'am, I'm advising you to stop talking. million forever. >> Well, that's dumb then. You shouldn't have told. >> I know. >> I got to teach you how to act like an adult. >> You got a kid and you're doing it. >> I don't care who money is this. >> Stop talking. How many times I got to tell you? You are. You should have thought about that before you wanted to steal. >> You're in essence. >> I'm never going to >> stop talking. >> That's my >> What about that? That's a sensor, right? >> That's not Yeah, I took that. >> No, they take that. Oh, you did take took that. >> Perfect. >> [music] >> Can I just get up and go? I'm pregnant. >> Stop talking. >> I just want to do >> Stop talking for 3 seconds. Go nowhere. >> Sit down. >> I'm just going to stand. That's all. >> Sit down. >> Pardon me. I'm hurting. >> Can I just get up for a second? >> You're perfectly fine. >> No, but let me just get up. Let me just get up for a second. >> No, you ran. So, you know what you were doing. Don't get up. >> I ran because I have my in the car. Not in the car. >> You wouldn't have left your car, right? >> I didn't leave him in the car by himself. He's with my friend. >> No, we got him, too. >> Huh? >> We got there, too. >> Everyone's under. Your baby's coming to headquarters. >> No. >> Yes, she is. >> Can my mom come my sister, please? >> We're past that point. All right. >> Can my sister come up? I don't want the baby to go, please. >> Stop talking. Why can't I talk and I'm just telling you? >> I'm going to deal with all this. Just take her down to give to to the to my friend. She's going >> She's going on arrest, too. >> She didn't take anything. I did. I took everything. >> She didn't take anything. >> I need to respond. >> He has my phone. He has everything. Okay, fine. We're going back to my car now. >> How am I able to be able to see her? >> Because you're under arrest. You don't get that privilege. >> Yeah, but my son. I can't see my son. What are you going to do with my son? My mom could come get him. Please. >> If you keep yelling, then that's not going to be an option. I told you to stop already. >> I'm sorry. I'm just scared because I'm already in a situation. >> Well, you put yourself in a situation. You're you're a woman. >> And I don't have nothing. And I have nothing. Sir, you work. I don't work >> and this is the only house >> I chose to work. Right. >> Meanwhile, in the now crowded parking lot, the babysitting accomplice was on a whole different level. Still convinced that she could handle the situation and walk away untouched. >> Bravo 6, you can disregard the squad for now. I'm trying to make other arrangements for >> the baby to a random person. You have to you need her to to show up or you need her to call contact some her relative. Not your relative or >> cuz what will happen is we're just going to have doctors come take the baby. That's how it's going to work. >> Since you don't know who she is, we need her to come back and grab the grab her child and then she can make the arrangements that she needs to do. >> What's in all the shopping bags in there? >> No, that was something. No, that was just something I was going to try to uh >> return. Yeah. Yeah. So, there's receipts and everything in those bags. >> Yeah. Lower levels are >> I'm not sure. >> Can I look in the bags? >> Yeah. I never went to Victoria. Nothing. >> Okay. So, give me permission to look in the bags in the front. >> Yeah. Just her. She's looking towards me. There's tags on them. Looks like there's tags on everything. >> We got Victoria Secret. >> I got to look at the skill. I'm assuming cuz you said Victoria's Secret and where the sunglasses. >> That's what I'm going to look looking for. >> That was just sign. >> I got you. You got the receipts for this stuff. >> Is that home? That's why I never >> the other lady. >> Oh, no. That's her license. >> You checking for war? >> Said she didn't have her license on her. >> Check. Can you check all around? >> I already did. Yeah. >> Okay. The officers could tell the stash was impressive, but when they traced it back to the source, the numbers behind each item didn't quite match the trail it was supposed to follow, leaving them questioning what they were really looking at. Was this an ordinary shoplifting or a well-crafted shoplifting scheme [music] to resell on the black market? >> What's up, man? >> We got both of them. >> What exactly? >> Yeah, the one was stupid enough to come back in. >> I don't think your sunglasses are anything. female, right? >> One of them took this one. This exact here. >> So, the one with the the Hispanic chick, she took this one and the chick she took this right here. >> Both over 200. >> This one was 600. 600. All right. Perfect. Uh, yeah. Concealment on both of them from the sunglass side at least. Uh yeah, black. What are the two pairs? >> Uh Dolce Gabbana. >> Black Dolce Gabbana >> and a black Chanel. >> And a black Chanel. >> Butana had gold. >> Get your And I got to go lower level, too. >> How you doing? >> Good. >> Yeah. Is it yours? >> How you doing? Good. How you doing? >> Okay. >> You guys pro charges, but I'm just double check cuz >> if you're not, we keep the bags. >> We're not keeping. >> Yep. You got to press charges and take custody of them. That's outlet. >> What's up? >> That black one is Outlet. >> No, that's her personal lift. >> Oh, >> that wasn't from today. >> Yep. Those are ours. Those are ours. >> While the inventory of the stolen merchandise told its own ugly story. The officers turned their attention to a closer search of the car. And it was in that moment that the full scope of what they were dealing with began to reveal itself. You guys can uh There you go. Sorry. Yeah. Lot of bags back here. Oh, >> that was open. >> There we go. piece along the angle. Can we try mic >> here? You can take so you guys know all security. They don't want to go. >> Oh, thank you so much. Thank you. I love you. >> Oh my god. >> It's important to know cuz if you step back on property, we can just arrest you. >> I know I'm not. I promise my life. >> Have a seat. >> Oh my god. Thank you so much. >> I'm getting locked up on I have things that I have to give him. He has medicine in my bag. Okay. That I have to give him. Do you understand, sir? >> I understand. It's a pretty simple concept. >> Okay. I just want to just give him the medicine. She I hope she's not getting like that cuz she didn't do nothing. >> Sit down, please. >> She didn't do anything. I promise you. >> Sit down, please. All right. I'm just going to reach over and grab the seat belt. >> I promise she didn't do nothing. Can you just send her so she can take my key home? Okay. Please. She didn't do anything. I promise. Stay here. This is what county. Back at the parking lot, the officer soon made an even more bizarre discovery. One that maybe added another layer of confusion to an already tangled situation. >> Um, >> yeah, >> we we found some in the baby's bathroom. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Ask her. >> She's saying that she didn't know about it. >> Okay. >> Who was this person to her? >> Yeah. >> And you know, listen, she was in possession of the baby, so who knows? I don't have a stroller. I had I was holding him with the um with the car seat. >> They over that vehicle. >> We had a car seat. I was holding him with the car seat and then And then I was like, I'm going to go back inside, right? And then I came and then I was like, I'm going to come back, >> right? >> And then here then then this happened. >> Okay. >> And I'm telling you the honest truth. >> Where's your phone? You got her phone? >> No, Griff has it. I'm calling him now. >> All right. >> You guys w my phone. He dropped everything on my bag. >> Okay. >> I don't even know what else he got. He probably dropped the medicine and everything. >> We We have everything. Don't worry about Can I get the baby? >> No. Your handcuff. We're not going to know. >> Yo, you see my text now? >> Right now, the officer's coming. He's calm right now. >> You have all her stuff, right? Okay. We're in yellow ground. >> You know, dias come in. >> No, I'm already on that because >> Okay. >> Um Yeah, I'll figure it out. >> Take what she need to take. That's hers. >> Okay. So, we're doing a favor and we're holding on right now >> until your mother comes. >> I'm listening. I just I I just don't like when people lie >> cuz you just said you got an abortion but in there you told me you were pregnant. >> Yeah. >> I got an abortion but what I'm telling you was that Yes, I am. I I I can Yeah, I was I just had an abortion. Yes, I was pregnant. I'm just telling you my stomach. I was You know what? I said it wrong. >> You told me you told me pregnant, but I got an abortion. >> Eventually, both women were charged with theft after racking up over $12,000 in stolen merchandise. A scheme that had quietly stretched across months. And as for the illicit substances that were found in the baby's diaper, the babysitter admitted that it was all her. Next up are the most rebellious duo ever, whose entitled mindset led them to believe that being pregnant would somehow earn them special treatment after being caught shoplifting. >> But we didn't take nothing. >> You attempted to take stuff and then you went back into the store and ditched it. >> We didn't, though. >> This I'm pregnant, too. So, can you please not for >> 15 weeks? get you in a squad here and then probably go to jail. Okay. >> I'm going to do >> Mhm. >> Why? >> For retail theft. >> On April the 14th, 2024, officers with the city of Musko Police Department responded to a store after two unruly teens were flagged for shoplifting. The officer's quick arrival cut off any chance of escape. But in return, instead of a [music] routine smooth arrest, it set the stage for a situation that yearned for chaos at every turn. I don't have >> your Don't reach for it. Oh, I'm sorry. >> So, we going to go nothing. Yeah, >> but we didn't take nothing. >> You attempted to take stuff and then you went back into the store and ditched it. >> We didn't though. We had stuff in our hand. We never left out. We >> This lady was on the phone with the ask guy. They said they even got you on camera. Okay. So, all this stuff that you'll be able to see too. Okay. We didn't just show up here out of nowhere if you know what I mean. >> So, just a little front of the court on the cameras and they'll deal with it. So, >> so we got to we got to get charged today. >> There's a lot of questions we got to answer. Have you you know, have you been arrested before retail that? >> Yes, we have. >> Okay. Have you been arrested before? >> Everybody still need that. Exactly. >> Well, I know I know that the lost agent wants her. >> She does. I have to figure out what she got to figure out. Okay. log the known subject with the orange hair registered on her that >> you didn't successfully take anything but the attempt right there for Easter >> what's going on that's so irritating >> you going to take her I'll identify her and then I'm going to put you guys inside okay >> you're going to take her I have not done Yeah. >> After successfully detaining the duo, one of the officers went back into the store to piece together what had happened and what the store employees shared pointed to details that caught the officers offg guard. >> Okay. This is something they actually pushed out. >> Uh yeah, they concealed it in their bags. >> Okay. the Apple. >> Perfect. Uh, anyone else with them that you know of? >> Just the two that I saw. >> Um, could you uh come up with like a receipt on this of how much >> you want it combined? Otherwise, I can try to figure out. Unfortunately, that one um I don't have I didn't have consumer on camera. >> The one in orange she had consuming on camera. >> She consumed. Okay. She did not though. >> Uh she had stuff concealed in her bag, too. I just unfortunately >> don't know which one was. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, we know though that she for surely >> Yes. >> stole. Okay. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Cuz like I know she was walking around with these >> for a little bit and then I can't >> say we're 100% that she >> concealed them cuz she had the Nike things. I think she had socks. >> We're just not sure what all cuz they brought the stuff back in. So, we found it all. So, I say we just do a fine toner together >> and for both of them for an Yeah. Well, they push it out. So, >> right out, we're good. >> Um, so he's going to get a receipt and start working on that, but there's enough for her, too. Um, >> um, so I know he's going to get a receipt for that and work on it. I'd like to get photos just like we did for our last. >> Yeah, I won't we won't put anything away. I can take photos of the stuff. That's not a problem. >> Okay. >> Worry about dealing with uh >> I can assist here. >> Yeah, worry about dealing with her. Get her 1080. I'll get photos of this and price-wise and then work on videos >> and we're not going to separate. >> We we can't I mean like we just know the concealed item both together items. So >> I'd imagine >> do we have any priors with them? >> Yes. Or I don't know if we knew but they do both have been arrested for >> just do all county with it regardless. We'll set it up together for combined total. Yeah, >> a closer look at the recovered items showed that some [music] of the items were meant for infants. And maybe that wasn't random at all since one of them identified as Amari was actually pregnant, giving the situation a different kind of context. While the officers were able to detain the first suspect with minimal effort, the second one seemed to think it would play out differently. >> This is ridiculous. I'm getting picked up, too. So when you >> I'm going to go to the district. >> Well, how much? You know, you guys have to steal. >> I didn't. >> Okay, >> there you go. That's your answer. You're going to go to county. >> The jail. Do you have any like this. I'm pregnant, too. So, can you squeeze me out for this? However, I am >> 15 weeks. LA7373. So, explain to me again cuz I don't know why you being arrested or you put items in your purse. So, I'll put a camera. I know I didn't put nothing in my purse. >> Why my phone right there, too? >> This is ridiculous. >> How long does it take? I have like got to be at work. whenever you can. Officer Cortis. >> Yes. >> I guess uh for prior um retail thefts and we'll kind of figure out >> 140. >> However many times you been arrested prior for retail theft is going to play. >> I don't know what they are. So, >> but if I >> think I'm taking I thought I was taking Amari. >> Okay. >> I don't know who was taking what, but I just No. >> I don't. >> I got it. >> Okay. >> We don't have like It should be on camera if that's if that's what you got to call. and see if that goes well. I feel >> I send the photo to your >> going to just put everything in your purse. >> I got to go to work. >> Hey, listen. I was going to do Okay. All right. Um, I'm going to double check to see which car are you guys in. >> Three. >> All right. >> Officer Pat is standing by. >> This is ridiculous. >> I got my car out over there. Where'd the hands go? Maybe get a car. What is that holding? H >> Why do you got to hold >> That's a requirement. Unless you want to sit down right now, you can do that. I call yours and that's just something that they require us to do cuz believe it or not people intentionally fall over an anti-loop push. >> What happened? >> We getting accused. >> This is ridiculous. I got >> you see people huh? >> How long would this take? >> 14. Where's your 20? CCTV footage had already shown the duo trying to leave with stolen merchandise, but they turned back into the store to dump it as soon as they noticed officers waiting outside. [snorts] >> So, what's going on, sir? >> Huh? >> What's going on? >> We're organizing stuff. We're figuring out what we're going to do with the car. You're going to get you in a squad here and then probably going to jail. Okay. >> I'm going to jail. >> Mhm. >> Why? >> For retail theft. >> Why am I going to jail? I didn't take nothing. for a retail class. We already Okay. >> Jail. >> Jail at Walker County Jail. Okay. >> Why? >> Because you committed a crime. >> No, I didn't, bro. So, I got to go to jail. >> Sounds like it. >> Look. >> So, even if you don't >> Look, it didn't. >> Even if you don't leave with the merchandise. Theoretically, I'm not accusing you anything. I don't know what happened. I didn't. >> But if it's not on camera that I took anything, then what's going on? >> They trying to take us to jail. If you attempt to leave, that's still a crime. Okay? >> Even if you don't take it. >> Hi. Who are you? >> I need you to wait outside for me. >> Okay. Talk to her. >> Not right now. I need you to wait outside for me. We're warmer. They got her in the car. Next. We need to get the day. So, her sister isn't on scene in the front. I instructed her to exit. She's going to speak to an officer. >> This hurting me, you know, she really don't know what I'm going to do. >> What's your sister's name? >> Why? just cuz she's here. What's her first name? >> I don't know if you want to know that. So, >> just her first name. I just need to talk to her. >> I don't I don't want to give anyone information that um that don't get her. >> Hi. So, I'm I'm going to jail. We're going to determine that where we're going. Put it on the face. Squad separate your feet wide apart. I got to search you again. >> Why? >> But I don't know what I really want to know. Why? around the hospital. Just moving on side with the seat belt. Oh man. Where can I execute just a little? No, we'll we'll execute. So, ma'am, can you tell me what's going on? >> When she when she knows, she'll let you know. >> Her teeth come here. I'm going to get it. I don't even tight. >> An inventory of the stolen items showed that Shan and Amari took a wide range of goods from night pajamas and a paw patrol set to a jean skirt and several [music] infant items. And while Amari was initially charged with retail theft and bail jumping, that charge was later reduced to disorderly conduct. The next case takes us to New Jersey where pregnancy entitlement got shut down, leading to a fierce encounter with law enforcement over shoplifting. >> So you're under arrest not >> you going to be mad when you get this lawsuit. You throwing me on the car and I told you I'm pregnant. If you hurt my baby, you going to be in a lot of trouble. Yeah. Okay, then. So, you better be Yeah. I just told y'all that. I'm not going to keep saying it. >> On February the 13th, 2023, just before noon, officers from the Flemington Police Department in New Jersey arrived in time to abort a well-marked shoplifting scheme. While the shoplifting plan had already fallen apart, their reaction made it clear that they weren't ready to give up just yet. >> Ma'am, come with me. >> Where? Which one? >> Come with me. Where's the other one you're with? >> Who? >> The other woman you're with. Nobody's with me. >> You're by yourself? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Come on. >> Come on. Come stand out here. There's one more inside. All right. Stay here. What' you take? Did you put anything in your bag? >> No. What are What is they talking about? Lady was watching her. I didn't put nothing in my bag. I've been sitting here waiting for roadside assistance cuz I locked my feet. So, if I look in your bag, they're not looking in my bag. Nobody's touching my bag. Nobody's accusing me of nothing. That lady, you can ask her right there. She been walking around seeing I didn't touch nothing, bro. Nobody's touching. >> Okay. Touching my bag and nobody accused me of touching. >> Stop yelling. That's only one side of the story, right? So, all you have to do is say All Nobody's checking my bag. Simply can I have ID? I'm aggravated. No, you're not getting my ID. I'm not answering no questions. No, you're not touching my ID. >> Okay. Relax. >> No, I'm aggravated. I'm waiting for my to get the key out my car. I'm just walking around to waste time until roadside assist to come and get my key out my car. >> Where's your car? >> I'm not answering no questions. Why the you keep asking? No, I'm not answering nothing. >> We can probably help you with the key thing. We have like our own like people that can come. >> Coming in here walking around like what the wasting time. That lady seen me right here. I'm literally walking around. >> One more inside. What's that? >> One more inside. keeping in that van over here. If they start to leave, let me know. All right, >> I got to go check the bathroom in there. >> All right, you uh you come outside so we can talk. Is this your friend or >> All right, we're just trying to calm her down. She's pretty upset. So, like I said, I'm not >> I only got one side. That's why I came out. >> I told you I'm not answering no questions. >> This is why I wanted you to come outside and have a conversation with me. >> Answering no questions. >> All right, then don't. >> Okay. And if we need to ID you guys, we're going to ID you. And if you refuse to provide your information, you'll be placed under arrest for obstruction. Hey, can you stay over here for me? >> I'm not staying. No way, bro. You talking about >> You are. You are. >> You can get mad. I I'm I'm going to be respectful to you. That's all. >> Um so did you get the story from inside or? >> Yeah, they have a bunch of stuff in their bag. >> Okay. Um, so we're going to take a one second. I'm I'm going to need your information. This is your last chance to provide it. If you don't, you will be placed under arrest for obstruction. So, it's your choice. So, we're be You're upset. I understand that. >> I don't care. >> So, I need your information. If you have ID, give it to me. >> Have ID or not getting my ID? My answer is still the same to all three of y'all. >> So, then I wrong with you. >> Then I need your name and date of birth. And if you don't provide it, then you're going to be placed under arrest. So, please provide it. Are you going to provide your information or no? >> The officers kept trying to remain as polite as possible, even though reports suggested the two were working together. They insisted that they weren't familiar with each other, which already raised some questions. [music] But for the moment, the officer's main focus stayed on deescalation as they observed the duo [music] more closely. >> Miss, I take that as a no. >> Okay. Well, you're under arrest now for obstruction. >> My mom come, bro. Not doing that. >> No, that's not how this works. You don't >> touch me, bro. Do not touch me. Do not touch me, bro. Relax your hands. >> No, you don't want the 49. >> Relax. So far, none of their claims had seriously [music] addressed the allegations, and their insistence that they weren't working together had already started to fall apart. But they still seem to believe that they could somehow outmaneuver the situation. >> Bro, get off my jacket. I don't need you to hold me. >> Send us pulling. >> It's already on me. >> Yo, if you don't let me go, I promise you I'll spit on you. >> Go ahead, >> bro. While the older woman, 33-year-old Sierra, was charged with shoplifting, obstructing administration of law, resisting arrest, and hindering, with her total coming in at $844. So far, there have been plenty of cases involving pregnant women acting out of line, but none compared to this next one, where a pregnant woman took on the role of a getaway driver for a violent shoplifter. >> Uh, the guy who was in your car stole a bunch of stuff from Walmart and uh he ran away from the AP office. >> He was an Uber. You're an Uber driver. >> Okay. Do you have your insurance, please? >> Like I said, I had no idea any of this was going to happen. >> Yeah, I hear you. This is like way too much. I've been to jail one time in my life. That was a long, long time ago. >> On September the 13th, 2025, at around sunset, Walmart security reported a male suspect who had grabbed $84 worth of merchandise while carrying a knife and then rushed it out to a red Mazda where a female driver was waiting and then fled [music] the scene. By the time officers caught up to the vehicle, the knife wielding suspect made a quick and bold decision to run away into a nearby Menard store while he left the driver behind. Hey, the guy got out of the vehicle. Hi. Can I see your license and register proof of insurance, please? >> What happened? >> Uh, the guy who was in your car stole a bunch of stuff from Walmart and uh he ran away from the AT office. >> He was an Uber. How do I get there from here? >> Okay, he's back in. How do I get >> He's going this way, sir. >> Where's he at? >> What? Where'd you go? >> Okay. Well, I'm hopping in the truck. We got an officer inside if you guys end up finding out he's in there. Okay. 9 from 16, an orange employee told me he was running down Freedom northbound. >> Okay, I'll hand you that bag. That looks good. >> Do you have the the Uber order on? >> I don't because it was my last drive and it's I Uber through my step or my mother-in-law. >> Okay. So, I texted her and told her if I could, you know, if she could send it to me, but once my stuff ends, I can't restart cuz she has to verify with her face. >> Okay. So, >> do you have the Uber app? Like, the driver. >> Okay. >> So, you're not the driver for this car? Like, >> yes, >> you're the driver. Okay. Just hang tight with me. Do you mind just uh turning your vehicle off real quick? And then any like weapons >> there is we he >> Okay. Okay. So he that's his >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. >> Yeah. I was like that was that was scary. I didn't know what the heck was going on. I didn't know >> police. I didn't know if he seen somebody that an enemy. I I really didn't know what was going on. >> Okay. >> So this is his hitter pipe and uh just leftover. >> Okay. The officer already had a sense of what was unfolding, but chose to play along. And as he started piecing together the details using her own words, the truth slowly began to surface. >> You have what? There's a grinder somewhere in here with >> Okay. Oh, and then another one. Okay. I'm not sure. I'm not sure. The grinder is mine, though. Okay. Call for that one. >> That's fair. >> Or are you pregnant? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, you purchased something while you took someone else from an Uber ride to your Walmart. He was I He was being picked like I was picking him up from Walmart. I was already here. >> Oh, you were already here and then you were picking him up. Okay. >> And then I started the Uber out here cuz I was going to do here. Back home. I do shopper uh shopper too, which is where you go to stores and shop for people. And I have one I had the Uber here and then I was going to go East Poria Target do the shopping. Okay. What's the other shopping? I can't think of what it's called, but like uh Spark Spark is just uh Walmart just delivery from Walmart. >> Okay, it's kind of like the same thing. You just pull up, pick up, but you can do do multiple like you can do mixed with Door Dash or Goober mix with like you can >> I don't know yet. Yeah, it sucks. Sorry. Apparently, he's giving them a run. Your mail is running towards garden center. He's crossing the street right now. He's at the fence line. Turn the corner northbound for him. This is crazy cuz he'd probably just get an NTA and then he would go home like but now he's like fleeing and eluding. So jail wasting my time freaking the medicine. I've just been it's just been crazy with this medicine. I can't even I've been chasing it down for two days. She went to a doctor's Friday >> and I've been fighting to get this medicine since Friday. like her test results came back positive for UTI. >> Oh, no. The baby >> the my 5-year-old. >> Oh, your 5-year-old. >> 5-year-old. >> Because she's my tomboy and I just can't get the kid to wipe. So, she's possibly 52. >> Oh, >> usually it's a mom they put her on. That's a normal very normal medicine that they have except her now she's been on too much. said they have to do a different one and I guess every um bonus he was out of it >> really. >> And Walgreens said that it's this is like you might as well look at it as liquid gold because the paper out of pocket like without insurance is over $1,000. >> Wow. Wow. >> That's awful. >> Yeah, it's crazy. Did he get in here with anything odd? Like, >> no. Didn't have anything on him except for obviously that stuff in his pockets, but he didn't have like a bag or like nothing like that. He said he was running in to get some milk and then jumped in the car and said, "Pick me uh Menard." He said, "Okay." And I was in park and he said, "Just let me out here." I freaking let him out here and he told me to go. Like I could tell when he got in the car after he came back out from Walmart that something was wrong. But like >> I thought you said you were already here. >> I was already here. >> Like in the >> he he got him when I picked him up and we went back like he went back inside. >> Mhm. >> He said he was getting mail cuz see somebody somebody dropped him off. He was getting dropped off there because he was already I don't know. He must have already been here. But somebody dropped him off here and I was taken in back to Creekore or I can't really remember. It was in the Creekore Pean area kind of like Belle. That's where the location was. >> Okay. >> I'll be honest. He is my cousin. >> He's your cousin. >> He is my cousin. But I had no idea. That's why I can't do it cuz I was like, "This is scary." And >> Okay, I get I get it. And this is scary. I >> I never thought he was. >> So, he's your cousin? >> Yeah. >> Okay, so friend dropped him off there cuz he was here with a friend, I guess, cuz night with friends, worked out here. I don't I really don't know, but he asked if I would give him a ride since I was coming out here to get my daughter's. He ran inside to get milk cuz I seen them. They they were parked by my car since I was already I had already been inside >> and got prescription medicine >> and did a little shopping and I end up losing or leaving my car that so I just left the car inside. >> Okay, so there was a third party here, someone else. Okay, it's just you and him. >> Okay. >> As the night was closing in, so were the consequences. And while the female officer already suspected that she was an accomplice, she held back from making an immediate arrest, knowing that she might be useful in tracking [music] down the other suspect. >> It was just you. And then he asked you to pick them up. >> No, just pick him up. >> Just pick him up cuz he's >> I told him yes. I was checking out. I was leaving cuz I just got just got our medication. I was heading back to pick and he asked if I could give him a ride. I said yes. I got to the car before he he was in the store. When I got to the car, uh, when he came out of the store, he had no milk because he said he was going to get milk. He was going inside to get milk. And when he came out of the store, he didn't have milk or nothing. He just told me take him to the nards. Okay. He was stranded. I had no idea what this was. Like I said, I had no idea any of this was going to happen. >> Yeah, I hear you. This is like way too much. And I'm not going to lie, girl. I'm gonna I'm gonna search a car because of Okay. Like Illinois state law says it's it doesn't matter if it's his or yours. I just got to search the car. Does that make sense? Okay. Um do you have any anything on you or anything else you know of in here? Okay. Okay. Do you want to sit in my car so I'm not Okay. Okay. Okay. I know you're not going to get me in trouble cuz you're pregnant. >> Leave my purse. >> Yeah, that's fine. That's perfect. Okay. I won't put you in handcuffs or anything. So yeah, since you've been compliant plus like I was sucking pregnant. >> I've been to jail one time in my life. That was a long long time ago. Okay. And I just don't I don't want myself into trouble. Got changed. Got eyewash. Okay. We got the grinder lighter. Piercing kit wallet clip lighter screwdriver cigarette clipper spoiled milk. Oh, fireworks. More screwdrivers. It's a gift mask. Card empty label. Oh, so she wasn't just innocently sitting in the parking lot. That's crazy. All right. Come back in my car. Okay. >> You might be sitting on the buckle. >> This is a long drive. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> But I'm going to grab that first pass and I'll make sure. >> Sounds good. >> All right. Thanks. >> Following the investigation, the female [music] suspect was charged with cannabis use in a vehicle, possession of paraphernalia, retail theft, possession of stolen goods, and trespassing. [music] She was then released with a court date set for October the 28th, 2025, while the male suspects faced felony retail theft and resisting an officer after fleeing. Next is a case of two pregnant women, Sedaru and Melissa, who went on a theft spree across different stores and seem to believe that pregnancy and a language barrier might be enough to keep them from facing jail time. >> I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. >> I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. >> That's fine. You understand these rights? >> What is this? It's your Miranda warning. >> You have rights. Do you understand them? >> Okay. >> I don't care if you're pregnant. Don't steal things. You are under arrest and you're going to go to jail. Just so you know. Okay. >> So, you don't understand. >> Okay. >> On March the 27th, 2024, a routine theft investigation in Frederick, Maryland, took an unexpected turn when officers encountered two pregnant women, Mela Sadaru and Melissa Stefan, reported for stealing in several stores. Officers uncovered evidence of an elaborate shoplifting scheme extending beyond city limits when their vehicle was stopped. While their pregnancies were noted, this wouldn't deter the investigation, for the evidence was lying in plain sight, and it told a different story, leaving no room for denial. >> Pull your car over. Pull your car over. >> Put it in park. >> Oh my goodness. >> Oh, you're being detained right now for a theft investigation. Step out. >> Step to the rear. No. Step to the rear of the vehicle. Step to the rear of the vehicle. >> How are you doing? >> What happened? What happened? >> Right here. >> Excuse me. What happened >> on the sidewalk? >> Oh my god. >> You're being detained right now for a theft investigation. >> What happened? >> You two were stealing from all the stores on East Patrick. Go around, please. >> No, I don't think sir. That is crazy. >> No, I have it on camera. I I took the >> I took the investigation. Okay. Were you not in the store on East Pastor Street? >> You were. >> You were. And then the store keepers saw you and they chased you down >> and the guy they described your vehicle. >> Yeah, it's closed. >> What? Um, where's your identification at? Do you have ID on you? >> Where's your ID? >> Excuse me, sir. >> Yes. >> What do you need? I need your identification. >> I'm just taking the hangers. >> Oh, the hangers. Perfect. >> Oh my goodness. That is crazy. >> Yes, it is crazy. So when I find when I when I find the >> Where's your ID? >> Where's your identification? >> You have it? What's your name? >> Melissa. Okay, Melissa, I'm going to advise you of your Miranda warning. Okay, just so you're aware, you have the right to remain silent. You have >> Melissa, pay attention to me, not her. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you on a court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while you're being questioned. >> No, no. Just in English. >> Okay. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish one. You can stop answering questions at any time. >> Do you understand these rights as I explain them to you? >> I don't understand. So I don't speak. >> Okay. What do you speak? >> Romanian. >> Romanian. Yeah. Okay. You speak English, right? >> Okay. I'll read you Miranda warning as well. >> I need Listen here. Stop talking. Hey, separate her. Stay here. >> I'm going to put her in handcuffs and make you go over here. Ma'am, you're not listening. What's your name? >> Oh my god. >> It's not. >> Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you on a court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have them present with you while you're being questioned. >> You cannot afford to hire a lawyer. One will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish one. You can stop answering questions at any time. Do you understand these rights? >> What is this? >> It's your Miranda warning. >> You have rights. Do you understand them? >> What is this? >> Okay. Perfect. Okay, >> what do you need? >> That's fine. So, what we're going to do right now, you're you're detained for this investigation. There are stolen items in the back of your car. >> No, it's not. >> They I have it on camera. >> Oh my goodness. >> Have a seat. Sit, ma'am. Sit. As the officers dug deeper, they uncovered a trail of theft that stretched from local boutiques to high-end stores. Despite one of the women's efforts to evade reality, she failed to grasp that her antics were futile and held no weight at that moment. >> So, I only have the green dress. The It's a Karina dress. It's worth $298. Um, >> yeah, it's all green. We take it off cuz ain't no receipts. Wait, >> here it is. >> Here it is. >> 90. >> Here it is. >> The dress that you stole. Yes. >> You moved it from the middle of the rack to the back of the rack. And then you put it up your dress. >> That is crazy. >> Mhm. It is crazy. I know it's crazy. You ready to take the tag off of it? I'm assuming. in a French dress. >> It's my clothes. This is my clothes. >> Well, they're not yours. >> It's mine. >> Do you have a receipt? >> Do you have a receipt? >> Do you have a receipt? >> No, I >> No, cuz you didn't. You stole them. That's why. >> It was at this moment that the officers were determined that they had gathered enough evidence to hold the two women accountable. Both at different points began causing scenes, clinging to the hope that their condition could shield them from the consequences. Although being pregnant would probably help them garner sympathy, it was not going to be enough to save them this time. >> Here's the photograph of you. Sit down. >> And then there's your photograph from stealing. So, >> do we get ID on her? No. Okay. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. >> Yeah. Do you have any of the clothing on you? Do you have anything else on you? >> I'm not speaking, but I'm >> front here. Step back here. West here. >> If you continue to talk to her in a different language, I'm going to put you in the back of a police car. Stop talking to her. You understand English? You're just playing the game. All right. So, [cheering] what needs to go to Augusta Rose? So, we have Augusta Rose. >> Where's all this from? >> Who knows? Um, yeah. I at least know this is from ours. >> Oh my goodness. >> I got ambulance coming. Okay, >> I'll help. Well, they're going to jail by Well, I'll take I'll take up with you >> cuz it's over, >> you know. >> All right. Um, let me Do you want me to go to 38 and try to talk to them there? >> We have an ambulance coming. Don't worry. It's right here. >> I'm going to go to 38 and try to figure >> Give us kind of totals. >> Yeah. Uh, you want to take all the stuff from them with pile and see what they can sort through? >> Um, not right now. They'll probably We'll mess. We'll figure it out. >> Melissa went on and on playing a familiar game, the language barrier card. But the officer [music] in charge had so far grown weary of the game and set straight off to the next step. Whether she understood it or not, the reality of her actions was now [music] unavoidable. >> Just so you're aware, you are under arrest and you're going to go to jail. Just so you know. Okay. on this street. >> Okay, you'll understand when we get there. You're under arrest, so you're not free to go. >> The officers contacted several shop owners to come and identify the stolen clothes as one [music] of the ladies, Melissa, was transported to jail. Sedaru, who had previously complained of stomach pains, was checked up in the ambulance, and she later on declined to go to the hospital. As the investigation continued, the officers patiently waited as they figured out where each stolen item had been picked from, proving that this was not just shoplifting, but an organized retail theft operation. >> The owner of this is the one coming here now. >> I get it. And then the other store is coming to see if any of this is theirs. >> Yeah. Uh, so she owns both. She owns Treaty and Relish. >> This could be all from Déja Vu. >> Yeah. >> But we don't know. >> Yeah. The lady coming down >> tag some of it, not all of it. >> The expensive gowns probably. And if they have like other brands that just like Sweet Rain or whatever. >> Yeah. >> He's coming. The owner of this name is Hie. She owns this for treaty and she also owns Relish which is next door. So she'll be able to tell you. >> What do you need from me? Just give this back to Deja Vu. >> I give relish deja vu. I'll take care of all that. >> Okay. And then whatever's left. >> Yeah. >> And they're going to come in the station. >> And if she says, "Hey, this is why get me your values and all that." >> Yep. I got all that. >> All right. So, I'll tell Puppy to transport the other road. >> He's gone. He was the jail or the >> He went to the jail. >> Okay, perfect. When it was Sadaru's turn for jail transportation, she tried to offer weak excuses about her condition. However, the officer wasted no time and firmly ensured she was placed where she belonged. >> We're going to the jail now. >> It's getting towed. >> Yep. >> For theft, a conspiracy. >> I don't care if you're pregnant. Don't steal things. >> I don't know. It's up to the commissioner. Do not steal anymore. No more stealing. >> No, I broke >> that is bad. >> I sure will. >> We'll see. >> You're also Carol. >> Carol County is also going to have charges against you as well because the dresses you stole in Carol County as well. Even though she tried to appear clever by claiming it was her first offense, her actions told a different [music] story, revealing it as a calculated move, especially since they had means to purchase everything. Her fear of the consequences sharply contrasted with the boldness of her actions. >> Well, hopefully it's the last time. >> Yeah, >> you have a lot of money. I don't understand why you have to steal things or your sister has lots of money in her purse. White House money. >> Is it your money or her money? >> Half and half. >> Half and half. >> At the jail. Uh, no. They have heat and air conditioning. It's a nice jail. Have you ever been to jail before? >> You'll be okay. It's a nice jail. It's clean. People are nice. >> Eventually, it was a contradiction between her actions [music] and the excuses she made, as she had never fully considered the consequences of her choices. >> You should have thought about that before you went and stole a bunch of stuff. Thank you. >> In the end, the stolen items were returned to the owners and the remaining unidentified items were stored at Frederick Police Department HQ for safekeeping. [music] They were then charged with theft and conspiracy. Just when you thought that you'd seen it all, along comes a 4-month pregnant woman who went off the rails after being caught shoplifting, acting as though that she had every right to behave that way. >> I have four months pregnant. Stop. >> Stop. >> Y'all want to fight me so bad. >> Do it. Yes. >> On February the 29th, 2024, officers responded to a shoplifting call at a Walmart in Washington. Upon arrival, they spotted a suspect trying to exit through the back door. As they attempted to detain her, she revealed she was 4 months pregnant, adding tension to the situation. Despite this, her defiance only escalated, making things more complicated. >> In arrest, ma'am. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. You are stand >> stop. >> What? No. >> This is looking. It's not that serious. Stop. >> Okay. Well, stop. >> Are you with her? Are you okay? >> No. This is ridiculous. Can you drop these, please? >> Stop resisting. You got her arm. I'll just do the cuffs. >> I don't want to do that. >> Stop resisting. Okay. Please stop. >> I'm not resisting. >> Well, you just think sounds like you aren't complying. >> We're not trying to hurt you, but you're resisting. No, we're not. >> That's precisely what you're doing. >> No, you just stole things and you don't want to cooperate. >> Sorry. Why are you bending my hair? >> I'm not trying to. >> Relax, ma'am. >> Why are you bending it? >> Okay, you can calm down now. >> We're good. >> What did you get? >> Thanks, man. Okay. I'm going to go. >> Is this yours? >> It's mine. >> Yeah. Walker back there. >> My arm hurts. Get off. I have nowhere to run. >> Y'all want to fight me so bad? >> It [screaming] break it. Break it. There's no point in hurting you if you're going to hurt. >> I cannot walk the bank and I won't. So just break it. >> My car front. My car's on the side. I know. >> Walk me correctly or I'm not going. >> Not your choice. >> Why are you bending me like that? That's not necessary. Does this look like a dog to you? >> Let me go. >> She's way too warm. >> Stop me like that. I was going to say was just put in my car. I don't know why we're walking on I >> Why are you holding >> I figured you guys going to try and put her in a stair? >> Yeah. >> I want you to calm down. But >> no, >> you're causing me physical pain. No, I'm not calming down. >> I did. I'm pretty sure I told you to. >> I have a baby to go home to. >> The woman didn't seem bothered by what was happening, leaving the cops to wonder if she was accustomed to committing such crimes. >> What a real piece of stealing cleaning supplies and baby clothes. What a >> criminal got. What was that? >> Okay. >> Last I checked, y'all weren't allowed to do that if you're a male. >> Wait, where did you check that? >> Can she search me? Cuz I don't want you touching me. I'm Please stop touching me. >> That sounds fine to me. >> You are [ __ ] babysol toothbrush. A piece of [ __ ] 37. >> Okay. >> It's unlocked. >> Yeah. Like it's already Can you put my face in with my belongings, please? That is mine. I paid for it. I want it back when all this is said and done. Thank you. Unexpectedly, she decided to act dramatically, seeking attention. [music] But her aggressive resistance only earned her more warnings. Completely disconnected from the situation, she attempted to sound sympathetic, but [music] it was clear that this was neither the moment nor the time for such antics. >> I go home, too. >> Stop. >> I'm never going to see my again. I have a go. >> Yeah, I got >> Where is your Where's your house at? >> I'm going to tell you. >> Okay. Well, I need to know for the citation. I'm homeless. >> Okay. >> So, how are you going home to a baby if you're homeless? >> She's with her father. >> Okay, then she's she's somewhere safe. >> No, actually, she's not. >> Okay. He's a biological father. Okay. So, if you're going to real quick, if you're going to keep continue to kick that kind of stuff, I'm going to put you into leg restraints. Okay. >> So, otherwise, just relax and we'll go up to jail and it'll be really quick and easy. Oh yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I'm never going to see my again. What are you talking about? >> It's a basic shoplift. If you would have complied with us from the very beginning, I'd have probably issued >> works for black people when we get put in handcuffs. >> Okay. >> Are you going to be are you going to continue to kick my my >> I want to go home and see my month old. >> Okay. Well, that's not an option right now. Okay. All right. So, I'm going to ask that you relax and don't kick my seat cuz if you do, I'm going to have to be forced to place you under leg restraints to prevent you from possibly injuring yourself >> before. That does not bother me. >> Okay? I'm just letting you know. >> I've been in neck restraints. >> Okay? I'm not I'm just trying to deescalate the situation the best I can. Okay? >> Go stop someone who's really bad and evil. I'm getting things for my >> Okay, it's still stealing. >> Okay, which is still a crime. All right, it's not a victimous crime. >> Some stolen. [music] >> So, are we going to continue to kick my chair? >> No. >> Okay, I appreciate that. Instead of cooperating, she chose to be arrogant. But by then it was too late and her arrogance was meaningless as the consequences of her actions were already unfolding. >> What am I in trouble for? Do I need a lawyer? >> You're under arrest for theft third and resisting. >> So what happened? >> So from here I will be booking you into jail where you'll be able to see a judge uh tomorrow and you'll have a bail amount to get out of get out of jail. >> Well, I don't have bail. I don't have money. I can't even call my baby dad. I'm going to chew through my Idol. I am not a mentally stable person. You don't even know who you have in the back of your car right now.
