No, I'm not. You already came right. >> No, no, I don't want I'm not running. I'm not doing anything. You don't have to do all >> You think AK-47. >> But I I can get a citation. I will come to court. I cannot go to jail. I don't live here. So that is impossible. Most dumb shoplifting Karens show the decision-making skills of a loose toddler, [music] helping themselves in a camera covered store right up until they're caught in the act and then act dumb again. >> Don't touch me, girl. Do not touch me. Do not touch me, bro. >> You can't do that. That's the law. >> Let go your bag. >> No, I'm not. You ain't about to go bag. >> No. Ask me nicely. >> Let go of your bag. >> So aggressive. Oh, >> here are several moments when dumb shoplifting Kairens realize they've been caught. Starting with Kada, a dumb Karen who figured an ankle monitor wasn't enough and decided to shoplift at a store she had already been trespassed from. >> I guess you have probation warrants and everything. >> Well, you're on ankle mind right now. >> You're saying you've been trespassed? Like you weren't allowed to come back here? >> Oh, yeah. Well, >> how come you came back if you knew you were bored? On April the 8th, 2024, just after 700 p.m., officers rolled into a Walmart in Athens, Georgia, after loss prevention had already flagged a repeat offender, a habitual aisle bandit with a long history of trouble. She had been trespassed before, but her arrogance gave her a false sense of confidence. That evening, things were different. By the time the cops arrived, she was caught hands deep in the cookie jar, doing her thing like the rules didn't exist. here. Put that in your pocket. Okay. Um, here you want to take her phone real quick. Thank you. There you go. 1095 with her in the clothing section. >> Okay. So, is that your buggy over there, ma'am? Do you have your purse or anything over there? >> Yeah. >> We're at the baby apparel. Uh, looks like a 28. >> Looks like we got two times. Okay. >> I didn't steal anything. >> Yeah, you're not this time. >> I can't charge you with it, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to put it into my computer system. >> All right. Head back to your office. >> Yeah, I'm going to take this service. I didn't bring it up. >> 3750. We're heading back to the service desk in the loss prevention office. >> I thought I saw you crash fine. Then when I go in, you already whipped around. >> Yeah. >> All right. You said you don't have your ID on you? >> No. >> Okay. Okay. Here. You want to hold it real quick? Is there anything in the bag? That's yours. >> I don't see anything. You can look into it if you want. >> It's heavy, but I don't I think >> there's a guy in here with her. >> What's that? >> They said there was a guy in here. Not the guy. >> Okay. All right. So, got trespass right now. She's already barred from here. >> Oh, yeah. All once. Are you going through the pack? >> I just search you for something. >> Let's go to the office, I guess, real quick. >> I'm going to search this right here while I have that space. >> Hey, is the office open? >> Yes, sir. It's closed. 76. Come over here to the LP office on the right entrance. >> Hey, where the L where the LP office at? >> Down there. They got they got them. >> How far down? all the way to the next store. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Hey, we got this cuz she didn't actually steal anything yet, but they stopped their uh >> full of craft right there. Do you have anything on you that will stick me anything like that? >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to pull this off real quick. Make sure nothing >> underneath there, >> nothing. up here. >> Hey, what's up here, bro? >> Silling. Hey, is the LP officer this way or that way? >> That way. It's right next to the dog tac thing. This about to be his first call here. >> Okay, I'm going to put this back on. >> Can I ask him? >> All right. >> Uh, I guess you have probation warrants and everything. >> Well, you're on ankle right now. Well, yeah. >> So, uh, those aren't fashion accessories. >> What? >> Ankle monitor. >> Okay. >> Okay. Is there any pockets? This little boat here. >> Do you have anything on underneath there? >> A bra. >> Okay. Don't see pocket. >> More officers poured onto the scene. And what followed was a string of questions that slowly pulled back the curtain, showing just what kind of maniac they were dealing with. >> Hey, [sighs] do you mind put my body back on my head? >> Like, okay, hold on. >> So, what we got, sir? >> Uh, he she didn't actually get a chance to steal anything. I got him ringing up the buggy just to see how much it was going to be, but she had these with her. Got other cases on her. My partner has case on her. Um, we've been talking about to Franco about it for a while. >> Scared to hurt me like you can. Um, >> I just they I was at lunch. They called me and said, "Hey, girl in the bonnet, ankle monitor." I was like, "Yeah, that's probably her. I'm on my way back." Called Frank on the way down the road. Told him she was here. And he went ahead and said this way or >> Okay. >> It's not going to be any charge on us this time other than what he'll he's taken from the warrants we got from the past. >> But uh I can't charge her with anything today. Conceal or anything. Oh, she's just got the barring too >> as well. >> How are you doing? >> Living the dream. >> Talking about you. >> My ears are always burning. >> That's it. >> The Walmart number. >> I don't think >> I hear you. as far as something. >> Yeah, I was going to check with him, but >> you do it. >> Okay. Yeah. >> 66. I've worked here 10 years. Don't have it memorized. [laughter] >> I used to have all that come up in here. I only used to be in here what, four or five times a week. >> Sorry. >> So, I set off your alarm coming out here. >> The two things that didn't look used were this and this. >> I'm going to read something to you real quick. >> But something set off an alarm. So, Well, it looks like it's been used a little bit >> dirty in there. So, I don't think this is ours. >> We wouldn't care. I don't know. It's Yeah, that's the real >> unless she has like a magnet or something maybe in there. >> He's right in mind. Do you wish or are you want to answer my questions now? >> Okay. >> I didn't see anything look terribly new. over here. >> There's no none in there. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, what's going on today? Uh >> oh, no. >> What What happened with the the plastic bags that you got? Go ahead and said you have >> You take the shoes off real quick so I can check inside with no cell phone. >> You have anything that belongs to you back off? >> I don't. >> Okay. >> Here you honest with you. So, >> okay. What would he get? >> What are the plastic bags for that you had? >> Nothing. >> Have you been arrested here before? >> Yeah, that's not >> Have you been trespassed from here? >> Um, >> you're saying you haven't? >> I'm saying like I've been arrested for tresing here. >> You're saying you've been trespassed? Like you weren't allowed to come back here? >> Bard. Yeah. >> Why? So, how come you came back if you made a bard? >> Excuse me. Sue it. Okay. >> As far as that previous barring, you just go ahead and put the case number in uh the CAD for us. >> Did you know you had any warrant for your arrest? >> Okay. Uh what's your phone number? >> I don't know about that. >> It's fine. >> 248. I'm just curious how much it's going to be that buggy. >> There you go, sir. apparently with somebody was under the bank not all right. >> So you had all the money to pay for all this stuff. >> That's my fault. >> I didn't see a wallet. Well, she does. >> I mean, this is going to be a lot. Like, it's a lot. >> Cada knew her craft too well. Even with the officers cornering her, she had a plan that was about to probe for loopholes that could actually outsmart the system. >> I'm not being charged like I'm still here. What? >> Well, you were getting a charge for criminal trust file cuz you've been barred from here before. You also have outstanding warrants, Mr. House, >> and everything. So, you are going to jail. >> I know that I'm saying about still like here like as far as the >> Well, they got to go through check make sure and all that. Um, >> we're about to go out to the car in a second. >> Yeah. Don't worry. >> In fact, pull my car up. It's on the other side. >> Yeah. Right. But yeah, it's very suspicious that you have all these items or anything got. But uh does she have a wallet? >> I didn't see a wallet. The only she had on her was her phone. I put it in the back. >> Oh my gosh. >> Yeah. That you come here to a place to shop and all that. Got a lot of items and you have no way to purchase any of those items. Also giving your past history >> when you said you're gone. [music] >> Okay. And then there's also your past history, lots of past history of shoplifting from here. Uh, and we've actually been looking for you for a while. Here's a couple photos and pictures of you shoplifting from here before >> and all that. So, which is actually some of your other warrants. >> You have for shoplifting? >> I believe you have some other warrants for shop besides the probation. I'm so sick of these goddamn bull poopy cars I got, man. >> Well, I get at least one bench warrant signed for you. So, >> we'll probably renew your borrowing out here again. So, >> so he's going to come in here. He's going to tell you again pretty much you've been borrowed. Please listen. Please. Walmart got like a zillion dollars. Like, it's damn near impossible. You're probably better off doing crime at the Secret Service than than to come here after you've been barred. Like there's cameras everywhere. Ple please. Like you just set yourself up. And I've been doing this for like 10 years. >> She had poked the wrong hornet's nest this time and the officers looked ready to take it all the way. But in the middle of it all, one officer stayed back with her, using the moment carefully, hoping he could still reach the part of her that wasn't completely beyond redemption. >> We're at 1325. She still got all that and that left. >> Oh yeah. She's like she was saying she was going to use whatever app on her phone to purchase it. I'm like sure. >> Yeah. >> The way she responded when I said you going you had the money for this? >> Go ahead. >> The security is so sophisticated. It's imposs I I know where all this stuff is. It's it's Walmart got like a billion dollars. A billion. Please sis don't do this to yourself in the future. It's just it ain't worth it. Well, if you got to go to Walmart, just go to another Walmart. Don't go here cuz cuz when they b people like they are actively looking. They're not even looking for new people. They're looking for the people that they've already bar just so they can have a come up and you look like a very smart person. You know what I'm saying? >> Okay. So, here's the plan. They're going to come by. They're going to rebar you for 2 years. So, I'm going to take you to jail and devo to get your car. Okay. [music] >> I appreciate it, man. Yeah, that's fine. So, you taking it or I don't mind taking it. >> Say it again. >> What's up? Are you taking it? I don't know. >> It's whatever. Uh >> yeah, I >> bu ahead and uh extend it again from today another two years. >> So again, you're born for a period of two years starting over from now till uh 2006. Uh, >> good old cars. >> They're 2026 this month. So, >> I literally just dropped. >> I mean, I know who you are now, especially I know your tattoos now. I know your ankle monitor. You have a fancy thing for these bonnets, but just stay out of the store and we'll stay out of trouble. Go somewhere else and try it here. >> So, I was like, let me get over here. All right. Yeah, if you want to transporter, let me get your bag and then we're going to head out to my car. Okay. >> You like your keys in your car, >> man? If you want to stand by here >> this way. >> Sure thing. >> Be this first car right here. >> You doing? Okay. You need help? >> So, so she she took items to go pay for them, but she never paid for them. >> No. So, they called me. I was at home on lunch. So they called me and they were like, "Hey, there's a girl in a bonnet in a with an ankle monitor on." >> And so, you know, I've already remembered from the cases we had. I said, "That's probably going to be Cadasia." So, I jump I just came on back and while I was on my way over here, I called Franco and I said, "Hey, you know, ankle monitor girl, Cadia." And he was like, "She's at the store." I said, "They say there's a girl in the store that looks like her. So, I'm going to get there. I'll pull up the cameras and I'll find her." So, yeah, Smith came. Uh, I guess Franco told Smith to come. We pulled up the camera, sent it to Franco. He said, "Yeah, that's her." So he Smith went and just identified. She was very honest all the way open. I'm actually thought she would have lied. >> So the stuff that she had at the counter, she was going to pay for some stuff. >> She says she was going to buy this stuff, >> but it never got to the point. >> Yeah, we were at 1300 when I left. >> Okay. >> And they still had half a buggy left and some other stuff. So >> maybe 2500. >> I was thinking three at first, but it might not make it that high. And it looks like it's a lot of stuff that she's going to probably refill, like stacks of bonnets and, you know, multiples of different items. It looks like she was probably just going to sell at the flea market or sell on the street. Yeah. One night I got her walked in, went to the candy over there, took her backpack off, just started loading it up. She went in the bathroom, sat for about 45 minutes, and then she left. And >> she stay around here. >> I don't know. I'm not sure exactly where she's from. My partner Emily dealt with her first. She caught her trying to walk out with some stuff one day and she took off and left the bug behind. But that's like I just told the manager up front. She's like we have just waited and let her do it and stopping her before. I said we could have waited but I have a feeling we'd have been waiting till close cuz she's already been in here for a long time to spend all that time selecting that stuff. At least >> it's always better I think just to go ahead and do what you do. So she already has stuff on. Can you get out? Okay. >> Shades back on my head. >> Back up. >> Yeah. There you go. >> In the end, she was charged with trespass. Cada's ability to think was on airplane mode. Somehow she still came off smarter than this dumb 23-year-old who had bet everything on the bold theory that playing dumb was a genius survival strategy after shoplifting. I'm not running. I'm not doing anything. You don't have to do all this. You don't have to do all >> I am 23. >> So, you are you are more than old enough to understand that you cannot walk out of a store with not even getting paid for. >> Okay. Yes, I understand that. >> Oh, we've got to understand what's going on. Now that we do, you are going to jail. >> But this situation is so messy. On June the 19th, 2023, a Dillard store in Alamonte Springs, Florida, called the police after spotting what looked like an active shoplifting in progress. After a short while, several officers arrived in the hot afternoon heat and immediately ran into the suspects just as they were about to make their getaway, setting off a tense back and forth between everyone involved. right here. Yeah, cuz I I don't want to go in the office. >> I don't feel comfortable doing that when you get what I'm saying. >> There's too much story, too many stories going on. >> Okay, I got it. We'll make it real simple. >> We'll find out. We'll find out which which one of them it is, which female they say it is. And then that's the one we're going to deal with. We're going to let the other one go. to ask them which female. >> All right. Which one was it? >> It was the one with the light green shirt with the denim short and has the lighter brown. >> Copy that. >> Green, huh? Green shirt. Then the denim shorts. >> Yep. Okay. >> I'm just trying to figure out why they're lying. Why it's two different stories going on. Y'all not go talk to them at all. >> Yeah, we are. So what they say? >> All right. >> I'm just asking. >> So they're saying she didn't have anything to do with it. >> But I mean at the end of the day that's wrong though. >> Yeah. There are two different things going on. You come here and you just honestly say >> you come here. >> Well, I'm not. >> No. No. I don't I'm not running. I'm not doing anything. You don't have to do all this. You got to go and cuss. You don't have to do anything. >> Come with us. Come with us. like doing the road. Like when I pay for it, I want y'all to talk to this man right here. >> Yes, sir. >> That's an issue. >> Parker, I'm going to park the car real quick. I'll be away with you. Okay. >> All right. AK47s 911. So all personal property goes away from them till you AK-47. >> You think AK-47 just being >> Yeah. Just that way we don't know. >> You think AK-47? >> So what you do you stand around for? Go find out. >> Do you have your ID on you? >> This is his first day. >> No, I don't. >> No ID. Okay. What's your name? >> Mar. Mar. >> Yeah. But why do you need my ID? I thought y'all were asking what we're going what happened. >> I'm going to ask a lot of questions here and like >> we don't have time for these ladies. >> I know. I'm just saying like y'all can just >> No, I'm not trying to. >> I'm really not trying to be argumentative. >> Sit here and relax and go with the program. He's going to ask you some questions. He's going to do a bunch of stuff you might not get. We'll answer your questions, but you might not have time for it, but you're going to take the time. So, you don't have a choice. >> What's your first name? >> What's your first name? >> It's a cool name. >> And how do you spell that? >> S E >> S E >> Q U >> Q U >> O I A >> O I A. And your last name? >> Mley. >> Mley. >> M. >> Mley. Okay. How you spell that? >> M. >> Yeah. Y'all got the names in here and all y'all. >> And what's your middle name? >> You need my middle name, too. Okay. >> Where are you? Can I >> I have to put you in a system for what? >> Okay. Cuz right now I have to identify you because you're being investigated for shoplifting. Okay. So, you're going to be documented in our in our thing. >> So, can I just ask this question? >> Okay. >> Are y'all trying to arrest me? You're not charging >> right now. We're just investigating. >> Charging me with something. I'm just asking. >> We We're not there yet. >> I have to have to figure that out. Okay. >> I just need to know. So, I cuz I don't reside here. >> You don't reside here? >> No. Where do you reside? Know that. >> Okay. Where do you reside in North Carolina? I don't >> North Carolina. Okay. >> Do you have an emergency contact? >> Wow. >> So, we can call somebody just in case something bad happens. >> What's bad going to happen? >> I don't know. It could be a lot of things. >> The officers knew nothing was concrete yet, but they kept it professional because beneath all the formalities, they had an ace up their sleeves. >> Do you have somebody that you want to put down? >> Me. >> Are you okay? What's your name? >> Erica. >> Erica. Mhm. >> How do you spell that? >> D R I A >> Erica. >> Daniel. >> All right. So, >> okay. >> So, we're doing a bunch of things and I'm kind of on their side now. What the hell is going on? >> What are we doing? Where are we at? >> I was about to ask that, too. >> So, what have you got so far? I don't know who to ask what. But my only question is what you're taking or what. You don't know if you want to charge her. And I said, "Okay, come on. Let's go. I'll pay for it." You know what I'm saying? >> We have no records. Both of these names are fake or >> we just gave it. I said, "Hey, >> this conversation was happening. Where were you guys?" >> We can search for an ID. >> We can identify her, but this person is possibly a fake outside. This came on the outside. I don't know about you. >> Okay. So, you guys were in the outside of the store. You didn't pay for the dress. >> I didn't hear you. >> Yeah. >> Sorry. >> They were store. They didn't pay for the dress. >> That's so you were outside of the show. >> Unprofessional. Y'all >> go ahead cuz we got to hear this. Let him talk. Let him talk. >> You were outside of the store and the security guard came to you and you told the security guard. He stopped you. You said, "Hey, give back the dress. If you give it back, then we will not call." Right. Exactly. Exactly. And then what happened? And then we said, "We'll just pay for it." He said, "No." He said, "Um, all right. Come in." So, we're like, "Okay, we'll just pay for it." >> I was like, "So, are you going?" He was like, "You're lying." And I'm like, "She doesn't know." You know what I'm saying? >> So, I asked him. I was like, "So, are we walking into the register to pay for the dress?" And he said, "Yes." Next thing you know, all standing outside was standing out there and then they were and then we were standing out there trying to figure out what was going on. So I walked back in the store with them to go pay for the dress and they start talking about going upstairs and I'm like took us to the register. >> Yeah. I'm asking why go upstairs if I'm going to pay for it. You get what I'm saying? What's upstairs? I like why can't I just pay for it right here? >> And as soon as we went to the register he talking about um so I the dress is right there as you see and I would we >> that's the dress there. Yes. >> Okay. >> So, we are where we are. You committed the act of the >> Okay. But I can get a citation. I will come to court. I cannot go to jail. I don't live here. So, that is impossible to bond out. I can't do that. >> I don't know another way to jail. >> I can't do that. >> How old are you? >> I am 23. I cannot. >> You are You are more than old enough to understand that you cannot walk out of a store with none of you getting paid for. >> Okay. Yes, I understand that. >> Okay. So, for me, that is the end of the discussion. It is a crime. >> So what was the point of doing all of this extra stuff? >> What extra stuff? We have talking about y got to get >> Yeah. You talking about y'all knew what was going on from the get. You should have just said that. Like >> stop. If you ask me a question, I'm going to answer it again. I told you I'm going to shut up and stop answering your questions if you keep over talking. >> Okay. >> So, we met you all in the parking lot. There's >> Stop. There's absolutely no way for us to know in the parking lot what's going on. So, we do have to figure it out. We've got to talk to y'all. We've got to talk to the store and figure out what's going on before we make a decision. We're not just going to stop you, place you in handcuffs, which is why I stopped him from doing it out in the road. >> We've got to understand what's going on. Now that we do, you are going to jail for >> this situation is so messy. Like, how is this even holding right now? What? Get what you need. >> I don't need a revelation. >> What do you have to finish what he needs to You have no idea. >> Okay. I ran your name >> and nothing came back. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> I don't know. I told you it was an X Q U I A M O T L E Y. >> I ran it. >> Can I write it down for you so you can do it again? Cuz I promise you that's my name. >> I just don't have my ID. I'm going to keep working with you. But if you keep doing that, I can't help you. What did you say was so t >> a little bit longer cuz we're training, but once we get her to the jail, >> it's all on the jail and how fast they process. And that's on >> the bond should be less than 500. I think it's >> I mean, I'm not worried about that. Like I got money right now. Hey, nice. Where you from? >> North Carolina. >> Being dumb was one thing, but playing dumb while guilty had never saved anyone. And to make matters worse, the officers were about to search them, hoping to uncover whatever secrets had been tucked away out of sight. >> So, your bond is going to be out of state. I don't quote me, but I think it's 500. >> Okay. >> Methylate them. >> Maybe some cough medicine. >> What's that? Yes. Okay. >> 35 on Bravo. Do you copy Jersey number? >> You need help? >> No. No. I got ahead. It You said seminal seminal county. >> Yep. >> Okay, I'm on my way. I guess I'm just waiting. Oh, and they got the nice range over there. We got money. That's a nice one. >> All right. So, what are we doing? >> Uh, we're going to head to evidence because I've got marijuana and sledge. >> All right. Watch this. Put those down. Hold that in your hand. That marijuana. I don't care which hand. Take this hand. Pull the glove. Pull the glove like this. >> Keep it going. Keep pulling. Keep pulling. Keep pulling. >> Look at that [ __ ] >> Eventually, she was taken into custody and charged with retail theft. Next came a 32-year-old shoplifting Karen with the attitude of a broke rapper and the wits of a toddler who thought being sassy was a way out when caught shoplifting. >> I'm sorry about that. Remove this watch since you've been here. I watch you put everything in all your bags. Okay. >> Put everything in these bags. >> Yes. >> Right. >> Yes. That you did not pay for. So I need >> I paid for the everything. >> You did not pay for everything. Do you watch your whole transaction? >> I'm just saying. You >> sure are sassy for a thief. >> I'm always sassy. >> Put me in a car. >> Yeah, you're coming to jail. >> For what? >> For retail theft. >> On June the 14th, 2024, just a few minutes before 400 p.m. Police were dispatched to a Target after a retail theft that tried hard to stay under the radar. But to anyone paying attention, it was as obvious as the afternoon sun. >> I've been watching since you were here. You have to go to it. I'm sorry about that. Remove this. I want you to watch it since you've been here. I want you to put everything in all your bags. Okay. >> Put everything in these bags. >> Yes. >> Right. >> Yes. That you did not pay for it. So, I need >> I paid for the everything. >> You did not pay for everything. We watched your whole transaction. I'm trying to make this easy for you. You just need to come back to the office. I'm going to write your name on a piece of paper. That's it. We already have your friends call. >> Leave that. >> Come on. My friend in the car. I didn't come with no friend. >> You came with two other ladies. I watched you the whole time. I know. >> Okay. That don't mean I came with them just because we all walked in together. So, what do you want to do? Cuz I I have help here. >> You have to come back to the office. I need to document all your information. Is that your friend? >> Oh, no. The cop was somebody. >> All right. Well, put it away. >> I check my phone call. >> Okay. Well, do you want you just want to arrest her or do you want to go for what? >> For retail staff. >> I'm not stealing anything. I bought these. >> Okay. Perfect. Okay. Perfect. Then where's your receipt at? >> My receipt's right here in my wallet. What are you talking about? Tanky 25. >> All right. Right here. >> Sweet. Target. That's about the right size. So, >> so the country lemonade. Okay. Cool. Right. >> Then what is what is that? I don't know what that is. Bought in is like a pair of panties out of like all that she has in here. She >> What's all this? You didn't pay for any of this. The Pokemon. That's all I hear. stars above. >> Oh, I was supposed to put that back. I didn't realize that. >> Oh, you didn't realize it was in there. >> So, what else didn't you realize was in here? Like the Nerf gun or whatever that is on the bottom. >> What do you guys >> bought that? >> You bought this? >> Yeah, it's right there on that. >> Okay. I don't know what it is. So, what about this? We buy that. >> Is this your bag or is this >> That's my friend's bag. >> We don't have anything that we know. >> Okay. A debit card. >> At this point, the shoplifting scheme had already been busted, but she seemed completely unfaced. Maybe she was too dumb to realize the show was over. Or perhaps she was already plotting her next move. >> No, I don't. >> So, how'd you pay for this stuff? Cash. >> Yeah, cash. >> Paid cash. >> It says right there on the thing. >> It does. Oh, man. Maybe she actually thought it would save her. Or perhaps she had done this so many times before it barely registered. >> Do you want to go upstairs with them and get a ticket or do you want to come with me? >> Do you want to go upstairs and get a ticket? >> Do you want to go upstairs and get a ticket? >> No. Okay, that's fine. You sure are sassy for a thief. >> I'm always sassy. >> Her non-stop nonchalance made her act untouchable, even while standing there with a full hall in plain sight. But for every action came an equal and opposite consequence, a concept her dim confidence seemed to think her sassy attitude was somehow immune to. >> Consistency. >> The receipt. No, it's that game. >> I give it to you if it had four things on it. Okay. >> It had the two It had the two country times comments and stuff. So, one of these is ours. Can you um >> ask which auditing they scan? >> No, I've paid with that. >> Tell them to bring the camera down. >> So, what's going to happen? You're going to be trespassing that store for a year. You cannot come back. You're going to come back. You got to call them again. Okay. >> You cannot step foot in here. You can't piss in here. Anything a lot of stuff? >> Yeah. She uh only the shorts and one of the panties. >> So this is ours, right? >> The shorts are hers. >> So these two and one of the panties. >> What color? You said that. No, you said that you didn't know them originally to me cuz No, just cuz I came with them doesn't mean I know them. >> I didn't say I w I said I didn't walk in with them. >> Okay. Well, it still means you know you didn't know them. So, your stuff's coming with me because I don't want anyone to take it from you. >> They're not gonna take from me if you just give it to them. I'm giving you permission to give it to them. >> No, it's okay. >> I'm just No, I'm just saying like I really want my things with them. >> It's okay. It's coming with me. Watch your head. >> It's safer this way. You That way you'll get it back when you go. >> No, I I just want it with them. >> Female pull over here. >> You don't need a female. I just don't want No, I'm like I'm just asking you. Can you get that to them? That's it. That's all >> Wait either for the station or right here. I don't know. Could be safe though. I ain't nothing in my head. >> Okay. >> Put my hat back on. >> Turn around. >> Wait. >> Turn around. >> Why? >> Cuz I have on a whole dress. >> All right. >> There's nothing. >> Can I put my hat back on? >> No, it's with me. >> We'll go in your bag. >> They'll go in your bag. Don't worry. >> Can the lady come and grab my bag? I'm just letting you sit down. >> Why not? >> No, because Okay, I'm sitting down. But get in. >> I just No, cuz I want her to I just want her to grab my thing. >> It's all coming with me. Let's go. Let's go. >> I didn't do all that. I'm just ain't this ain't a turn around. I tried to turn around and y just instant handcuff me and I'm just trying to get in the car. Get in the car. I'm just trying to get my >> We're going to pull you in. We're going to pull you in the car if you don't pull turn around. >> Y don't have to pull me in the car. My things. >> Let's go. >> It's going to happen. >> Let's go. >> Let's go. >> Oh my god. Can I get my things? >> No. Here. Seat belt safety first. >> Why my things can't be with her? Because they're coming with you, so nobody takes them. >> No, but I'm trying to get in contact with her so she knows. >> Too late. >> It's not too late. I've been trying to THAT'S WHAT I WAS ALREADY DOING. >> Too late again. >> In the end, she was charged with retail theft and obstructing identification. Unlike the previous Karen shoplifterss, Kyra Snipes proved she was boss level dumb when she called the cops on the store for not letting her steal. >> Did you call 911? >> Yes, I did. >> I'm out with the caller. Okay. >> He counted everything in our cart and still trying to say we stealing stuff. >> I called the cops for him to feel safe cuz he keeps yelling at us and I'm going to yell back and I don't have time for it. >> I'm talking I'm talking to him. >> Listen to me. Listen to me. >> What you want to do is you just want to verify the items. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> That's it. >> On February the 24th, 2025, just before midnight, police received a strange call from a department store. Two siblings claimed employees were putting them in danger. It sounded urgent enough to raise alarms, but when officers showed up, it became clear pretty fast that the story being told wasn't the whole story. And halftruths have a way of causing just as much trouble as lies. >> And literally, I'm not about to keep arguing with them. He got we got all our receipts right here for the TV and everything. He counted everything in our cart and still trying to say we stealing stuff. You counted one cart. YOU DIDN'T EVEN COUNT MY food cart. We got all Look, everything's on here. >> Did you call 911? Yes, I did. What are you talking about? >> I'm out with the caller. Um, do you want to go talk to them? You want me to talk to him? >> I want the rest of my He's trying to say that we took that we stole. >> Let me see the the um receipt. >> Counted everything in our cart and still going to say we stealing. >> Just don't go anywhere yet. I'm going to help you guys work it out. >> No, I'm Uber. So, I'm back. >> Yeah, I'm just I'm going cancel it. >> No, don't cancel. >> Yeah, cuz you're going to spend time here. >> No, we're not. >> I got We got to make sure everything's all good. >> No, everything is fine. No, they >> just give me one sec. They said this stuff is good. This is good. >> This stuff is all good. >> This is good. But he's saying that commercial that we didn't pay. >> Did you How did you pay? Did you just pay no Walmart pay? You can't pay nothing else but Walmart pay or card. Please do not cancel cuz we got to go home to my nephew. Please. Like please. >> Yeah. This isn't going to fit in this car. >> No. All right. Whatever. >> What's he talking about? Everything in his cart is in that store. It's paid for. >> How'd you get all this out here by yourself? >> My brother. >> Oh, okay. >> He counted everything in the car. Half of the stuff that's in that's not in this car is in there cuz he took it out. >> Yeah. Hurry up. >> They talking about he going to call the cops. No, I'm going to help you. I don't Nobody needs to steal. We got money. I got EBT. >> Yeah, but it's saying I don't know how to read this. So, is it Was it declined? >> No, he declined it, but it was because he he had um a regular card instead of Apple. Yeah, he he used Walmart pay. So, he declined it and then paid for it again. >> Okay. Yeah. I don't know how to read these. So, I'm going to step in. I'll talk to the employees. Just hang out here for a second. >> I'm not keep like it's it's over. It's over. He I called the cops for him to feel safe cuz he keeps yelling at us and I'm going to yell back and I don't have time for it. It's either we going to get our stuff and leave or >> is your brother still in there? >> He's still in there trying to get the rest of our stuff. >> Based on their complaints, it looked like their basic customer rights had been crossed. Still, the officers hit the brakes and checked in with store management trying to piece together how the situation had spiraled and whether it could be diffused before it blew up. Who? Who? What's the issue here? What happened? >> Uh >> yeah, we were trying >> I'm trying to figure is it this two separate incidents? What is this? >> We trying to verify the items that the >> Okay. >> Some of the items are >> what did you not check? >> No. >> Did you not scan it on check out? >> No, I some have not been and and they don't want to they don't want us. >> Okay. There's a lady who has just left without >> Yeah. I have my partner talking to her outside here. So, >> let them just bring everything because some of them are not facing. >> Okay. >> Are you listening? >> Yes. >> So, now what I'm saying is I didn't come up to the front. >> I got the TV, my game, all that. Right. >> Are you with them outside or not? >> Yes, I with them outside. But in the midst of that, he's saying he stopped us, right? Showed them the receipt. He's saying that it's some item that's not paid for. >> Okay. Do you have Do you have the receipt? >> She has. I'm talking I'm trying to be I'm talking to him. >> Okay. So >> So then after that he's saying but they started going back and forth. I'm telling her to give him receipt. All right. She not giving it to him. He's saying the stuff that's in that car is not paid for it. Right. I'm like all right cool. It's not paid for. That's not my issue. I didn't bring this stuff up. The person that was in the back of it, but I paid for it. It's no issue. I showed my car. I paid for it. >> Were you guys all together at one checkout counter? >> Yes. >> Okay. So this items that you have right here, >> this right here is paid for. But the stuff and that stuff is he went through that already. But he's saying >> all that stuff is good. That right there is not paid for. All I'm saying I'm going pay for it now. But he's making a big issue. My Uber is about my Uber about to cancel. I said my >> it cancelled. >> Let me one. What? >> Let us bring the item to verify one after the other thing. >> Yeah. That's what we're trying to do. Yes. >> Yeah. That's what just we're trying to do. >> Who's your brother? What's your brother? Yeah. Uh, can I can I talk to you? >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Where? Outside. Did you pour on >> Can you just stand in here for a second? >> Stay right here. >> He just wants to verify the items on the receipt. >> Okay. >> So, >> all the items that she has outside. >> Yeah. Is Is that okay if we could just verify the items? >> He He literally verified it three times again. >> Sorry. If we were to just verify the items right now and then he were to pay for whatever he had to pay for it. >> No. Forever. Whatever has not been paid for, they can only pay for after 12 hours. We just want to confirm all the items if there are items that have not been paid for like those ones. >> So this right here has not been verified. >> So this stuff that's on top of the shopping cart has not been verified. >> This stuff right here. >> Yeah. This this one. >> Okay. So we just have to we just have to verify this what I'm touching. >> Yeah. This one this one I did not I did not verify. >> This is what we're going to do cuz we're way we're making this way way too complicated. Look, way too complicated. Man, do you mind if you just bring your shopping cart right here real fast? We'll just verify this stuff real fast. >> The quicker you cooperate, the quicker we're going to get. >> Yeah, just look. We're just going to verify and then he said whatever. >> He just He just said the stuff that was good that's out there. Everything that's not good, he just put back. That's what I'm saying. >> I understand. Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. >> Okay. Listen. At this point, we're doing an investigation. Look, >> look. >> Just bring it in. Okay. >> He just wants to verify this once again and then that's it. >> Can he come out here and do it because I'm not about to keep bringing this in and out. Just >> How about we How about How about we do this? I'll wheel one in. >> One in and you the other one in, right? >> Yeah. You need help doing it, right? We got this. This has >> Let me know. >> Okay. Oh, sorry. >> So, all you want to do, correct, is just >> just verify stuff, right? Just listen. Listen to me. Listen to me. >> Okay. >> What you want to do is you just want to verify the items. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> That's it. >> Yeah. That's it. >> Okay. All right. All right. So, let's verify this real quick so we can get him out of here. Let's go. You have uh the receipt once for >> the camera showing right there. Telling the camera back that he just verified it three times. >> The camera's right there. Camera's right there. >> All right. All right. Stop. What are we trying to do? What do you need? You need the receipt. >> Can I have the receipt? Let me have the receipt. >> How do I have to keep this receipt if you just seen this time? >> The situation had hit a crossroads. The officers could already sense the irregularities, but patience has a way of dragging the truth into the open. >> [music] >> You going behind a counter? Count the right here. >> All right, here we go. We got a mirror here. We got a TV. All right, I think we can cross that off. Look, two t two uh two mirrors, one TV. >> Show them three of these. That's those notes. Those notes. >> Yeah, but one of them is not on it. >> If it's not on it, if it's not verified, it's only count. >> No clothes on the receipt. These in >> those are another one. Those in that one. >> This is another one. Another one. So, can you bring it up right here? >> The cat was already out of the bag, but somehow the brat still thought they had an ace up their sleeve. Even after the knight decided to show them a bit of mercy. It only felt like salt in the wound and they weren't about to let it fly. >> They don't want to trespass you. Nothing. Okay. >> They just wish cuz it's already like it's already 11:02. They're already shutting down. Um, if you could just come, he say come back tomorrow. Whatever the items are that you want to purchase or purchase. He doesn't want to trespass you. Doesn't want anything. Just whatever. Okay. >> Okay. >> We'll just put this down as a misunderstanding. Understand? >> Okay. Thanks. >> All right. Uh did did you provide the other officer right here? >> Yeah. I don't have a No, I I said that I was 17, but they asked me did I have an ID and I said no. >> Okay. >> But my name is Sierra Williams. I called on the phone. >> You didn't do anything wrong. Why Why lie about who you are or how old you are or anything? >> Why lie about my age? Why do anything if you didn't do anything wrong? Why would you say? >> I don't really want to get too in detail. Just I didn't know I had to get past like asking who I am and do I have ID? >> Why wouldn't you? >> Because I didn't do nothing for me that you didn't give any information. >> Stop inside the store with more police officers and security. >> I called y'all though. I called y'all. >> I called y'all for my safety cuz they thought we were stealing. >> So, was there anything in your carts that you didn't purchase? Everything he just verified. Am I correct? He just verified everything. He just checked each and every whatever was not verified he has. And he just told us. He just came up to us and said whatever was >> I got to We have to identify you first. So if you have an ID, give it to me now or else you're going to be waiting. >> I do not have ID. How you >> Okay. Why did you lie when And you said you're 17. Your math was off by 2 years. >> I know it was, but I just didn't think I >> You're going to lie. At least do it right. But where's your ID? Give it to me now. >> I don't How you pressuring me about something that I do not have? >> How do you not have an ID? >> Because I don't have one. It takes a while. >> You're 19 years old. >> I'm 20 actually. But I said 04. >> So what we have to do is >> Regardless, she said the wrong date. >> Give us your mother's name and her phone number. We're going to call her on the phone. Say you're 17. So we don't need to know. >> She's not. She said she gave me a different date now. >> I'm not 17. I'm 20. >> I don't know. >> I don't know how to I got to Do I have a picture? >> Yeah, but we still don't have a DL or anything. >> Yeah, we got to do it so we can trespass him. >> I don't have a ID. >> Call your mom. My mom is not What is my mom going to say? >> So, if you're 17, someone has to come pick you up. >> I'm not 17. >> Why did you lie? >> Because I didn't think I had to give y'all information about something that happened. >> We're investigating a shot a possible shoplifting. >> But it's it's in >> And now you're trespassing from the source. So now we have to identify you. Show me anything that can prove your name that you're telling me. Do you have a debit card or anything? You got nothing? >> I can't EBT. >> You have nothing with your name on it. >> Kenya, how old am I? >> No, I want to talk to one of your parents. >> My mom, she's Oh, my dad. Hold on. >> Hello, Dad. How old am I? >> Dad, you sleep? My bad. Just How old am I, Dad? >> Just get to the office. >> How old am I? >> Let me talk to your dad. I got to identify you. You're making it harder. >> I'm not making it hard. >> You're making it much harder. >> How am I making I'm 20. Give me anything that has your name on it. >> I don't have no I don't have I'm not lying. I literally >> You already lied. So why should I believe you? >> I don't even have a Starbucks card. >> Okay. Show me something with your name on it or you're not leaving. >> Well, then I can't leave. I have nothing. Or I can bring you into the police department and we can lock you up. >> Just lock me up. I have no >> We have to identify you at some point. >> Like I literally have my iPad. Like I don't know what you want. >> I want your ID. >> I have no How you telling me that I have an ID when I don't. >> Okay. So you're telling me you don't have any identification? >> No ID. >> Okay. So >> where did you used to live? >> Where I used to live? >> Where do you find? >> Maybe it was frustration over a failed scheme. Maybe just sheer stubbornness. Either way, they had no idea the trouble heading their way was about to hit harder than anything they had felt so far. >> You guys have been out here like 20 minutes ago. What's her name? >> She said her name. >> Okay. What is it? >> Tell me what it is. >> Oh, she said her name. All right. >> Tell me what it is. >> Sorry. She said her name. Ma'am, she said her name. But I'm just saying you told the woman to wait. >> All right. We're doing an investigation right now. If you don't uh >> you both could be arrested right now for traveling. >> Look, I'm just let you know. We're trying to prevent that. We want you guys to get in and get out of here. Okay. >> So, you're properly trespassing you guys from the store. We need to properly ID you. >> Okay. Yes. Officer is verifying me. >> I'm trying to verify her. So, I want to see if you're going to corroborate what she says. If not, she's getting locked up. So, what is her first name? >> What do you mean? >> What is her first name? >> Why are we being locked up for it? >> She's hindering apprehension. >> She might be. As long as your name checks in, you give us her correct information, you're fine. What's your first name? >> What's her first name? >> Why is your actual name? >> Because I'm trying to corroborate the story. You're a shop owner. What's her first name? No, >> that's fine. He gave us >> I I have more than enough hand. >> I'm just going to talk to you out here. >> No, you to me? >> Yes. >> Why? No, stay right here. You're not going out here. >> No, I want to talk to you personally. Right here. >> Right here. Person to person. All right. Well, we can't talk. >> I don't want to go here. I want to stay right here. >> I feel comfortable talking out there. >> We'll go over here. I don't know why you want to go anywhere further than here. >> All right. >> Right here. I don't want you going out there. I'm not chasing you. >> I don't even know. We don't have to go. Stay right here. >> You could keep me in the corner. Look. Okay. Oh, wait. I just want to talk to her personally. >> Okay. Me personally. I don't want to get in trouble. I didn't steal nothing. I wasn't doing nothing. But yeah, I did lie and I apologize. But I just don't want to get in trouble cuz I'm already on probation. But I wasn't stealing nothing. >> If you're on probation, then you you should know by now that you need to be providing your proper information when you come across. >> I don't want to get in trouble because I don't we are there's they don't want to press charge on shoplifting. You could have left here 20 minutes ago if you gave me your proper name. See how this is a problem, right? >> Why? Why did you lie? You have >> No, I'm on probation. I mean, if they think that I'm stealing, I'm I could go back to jail and I don't want that to happen when I wasn't stealing. >> Right. But so if you want to prove your case and you want to prove to people you're not stealing, you need to learn to cooperate with people. You can't be out here causing a scene because when you're causing a scene to me and my partners, my guard is up. I'm like, why is she causing a scene like this? Something's wrong. Then you're not cooperating with them. They're trying to get you out of here. They wanted to check your receipt and check the items and you would have been out. >> But now we have a problem cuz you lied. You lied to me twice. >> Okay. So stay here. Give me a second. I have to verify your identification. >> She had her chance, but her dim wits had poked the bear. And now there was no avoiding the fallout. >> Just going to go under. >> Huh? >> I'm just going to place her under. Here we >> go. >> Yeah. Not even close. >> I know. Do I get locked up? >> Yeah. I'm going to bring you in. So just turn around. Take your bag off. >> Wait. Can I give my brother my stuff? Cuz he could leave. >> No. No. Just say your stuff. All right. >> Oh, wait. Can you tell? >> No, cuz I was at Walmart and you know how I got EBT or whatever. I went shopping for mommy and Sher got his taxes and me and him was just going shopping at the store. And then that's when the guy was like, "Oh, can I count your stuff?" Um it looks like some of the stuff is not paid for, but we like we did pay for all of this stuff. Like I don't know. They just see, you know, when black people get money and we close the story, they be completely stealing every time. They arrested me because I told them false information cuz when I'm on probation and I don't have time for, you know, stuff like this to be on my name, which it is now, but I felt like me personally, I felt like I ain't have to give them information if I was a steal. >> In the end, Kyra L. Snipes was charged with obstructing justice, hindering identification, criminal trespassing, shoplifting, and disorderly conduct. Kaira and her brother were about as dumb as they come. Just like this duo who hit a cosmetic [music] store three times and threw a tantrum when they finally got caught. >> Do you know each other, >> bro? I told you I came here by myself. Why you talking to me questions? Stop asking me questions. >> Yo, if you don't let me go, I promise you I'll spit on you. >> Go ahead, >> bro. Let me go, BRO. BRO, LET ME GET THE OUT. Officers arrived just in time, catching them before they could make their escape. And right away, stupidity took center stage. While common sense seemed to have taken an extended vacation. Come with me. Where's the other woman you're with? >> Who? >> The other woman you're with. >> Nobody's with me. >> You're by yourself? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Come on. >> Come on. Come stand out here. She about to come here. I don't know what you talking about. You got me up, bro. >> Go ahead. >> With you. >> Reports later showed that they hit the same store three times already. A dumb move on its own, but that looked tame compared to how they were about to handle the situation this time. >> Um, so did you get a story from inside or? >> Yeah, they have a bunch of stuff in their bag. >> Okay. Um, so we're going to take a one second. I'm I'm going to need your information. This is your last chance to provide it. If you don't, you will be placed under arrest for obstruction. Amamira faced two counts of shoplifting, plus charges for obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrest, aggravated assault on an officer, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief. Sierra was also charged with two counts of shoplifting along with obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrest, and hindering. So far, we've seen plenty of dumb carens get caught shoplifting, but none came close to this one, whose only concern after being caught was lighting up and getting high. >> Please don't take me to jail. Take me to jail. >> Why do you have so much stuff in your purse? If you want to go in, you can go in. >> I don't know what to do. >> I don't want to hurt anyone or do anything bad for anyone.
