We [ __ ] tripping, bro. >> The amount of people like I don't care. I don't hear that again. >> The dude pulled the gun out on me the other day. >> I heard about that. >> Yeah. Like like man, I bought this place. Ain't nobody never mess with it. I was fixing it up. You know what I mean? Taking my time trying to bring it back to life, working, coming when I can get some free time. >> Mhm. >> And they uh they um ain't nobody never mess with it. getting some then they they was a lot of people here so >> I just was some people in the back. >> How long have you owned this spot? >> I've been owning this for 3 years. >> Really? >> Yeah. 3 years. >> Anyone ever lived here? Like officially? >> Um no. >> The property owner explained to the police that he had no choice but [music] to call them because the squatters tried to pull a on him when he asked them to leave. Furthermore, [music] they had boarded up the inside which locked him out and consequently made it difficult for anyone to enter. >> Like they boarded it up in the inside. >> Wow. >> From the inside. >> Yeah. >> Like the squatters. >> Yeah. Somebody wear that from the inside. >> Hey, what do you plan on doing with this place longterm? >> I was trying to You see that? What are you trying to >> No, I'm just saying like they >> Yeah, they probably got a nail shut or something. >> After a proper [music] discussion with the landlord, the cops were now left with having to apprehend the squatters. But considering the fact they made sure that the building was impenetrable, the [music] cops had to find an alternative point of entrance. Go first. >> Yeah. Right now, >> take the police inside. Make yourself known. >> None of this stuff. >> Dayton police. might say 28 28. >> There's like the eye and there's another one here. >> Hey, police doorway. Is this the front door, sir? >> Yeah. >> This is bolted shut. >> So, this place is officially vacant though, right? >> Yeah. They got no one like paying to live here. >> No, no. taking police. >> Police in here. Tell me. >> Did you put this stuff in here? >> I did. Not all of this stuff. I came back. I'm going to show you. I had it. >> So you Is this your stuff or No. >> No. The furniture, that table, that was my stuff. >> Put all this other crafts on here, >> man. No. >> Like this clothes and >> No. Man, I had this place. This is um like just let you know like I've been having this for a while. Everybody been living here. >> Yeah, I know. When I came when I came out today, that's when I found out that they've been all through my place. >> What these like guitars and stuff, >> man? I Man, I came here was about 20 people in this building. >> As things unfolded, the cops continued to look for the squatters. They observed that the residence [music] was fully occupied and well furnished. It was at that point that they begun to understand how entitled the property [music] occupants were. But soon what they discovered was and unpredictable. >> There's a dog back there. >> I heard a dog barking. Where? >> Back here. I don't want you to go before me. >> A dog. There's a puppy. >> It's a puppy. >> Yeah, I can tell it's a puppy. I got dogs. >> [music] >> If you back, you better get out of here. >> Hey, Ben, there's a dog in here. >> Come in the top. >> Dang. Police. You're make yourself known. There's someone in here. Dang. Police. Go inside. Make yourself known. >> Okay. All right. Get your dog. >> Okay. >> All right. All right. >> It's all right. All right. It's okay, pup. Baby, >> call your dog. >> All right. It's all right. You're not in trouble. >> It's okay. Is there anyone else inside? >> You're not supposed to be in here, man. Now that locked up. >> Yeah. >> So that means some people might be more locked in here. >> Is that door literally locked in here? >> Are you okay, ma'am? >> All right. Are you sick? >> Why can't you walk? >> I had a little dinosaur in my spinal cord. >> How many people stay here? Oh, we have all the details. >> All right. >> Are there other people in these other rooms? >> She doesn't know. I don't know. He's sleep. >> Okay. Uniforms, I think. >> Yeah. But he's he can tell you're scared. >> Just trying to slip this around his neck. Hi puppy. She's okay. >> Oh my gosh. It's okay. She'll be all right. Hi puppy. >> Good pup. Good girl. What's her name? >> Champagne. >> Champagne. Good girl. Champagne. Good girl. Good girl. It's okay honey. Good girl. >> They found a woman who seemed vulnerable and possibly unable to care for herself. The officers tried to understand her situation and [music] determine who else might be involved or responsible for her presence in the building. >> How long have you been staying here? like about a month. >> About a month. Who Who do you live with? >> My ex-girlfriend. >> Your girlfriend? >> She see she's friend. You want to go for a walk? You want to go for a walk? >> No, not that we found so far. >> What's your name? >> How do Who's been who's who took care of you last? >> Tessa. When did that happen? When did she take care of you? Sorry. last night. >> I don't know if there's a way here. Let me see if there's a way. >> There was an urgency to evacuate her, but they also suspected more people were hiding. So, they proceeded with caution, aware of potential dangers. >> Dang. She tried to call that tempted to kick it. >> I don't know if anyone else is in here. >> Can't have him unscrew that thing. I mean, we got to get her out of here somehow, though. >> There got to be somebody cuz how would it be locked in place? >> That sounds like Scotty. We got to do some hardwood. >> What are you guys on? >> I smell incense. >> Despite repeated instructions to [music] open the door, one of the squatterers, Scott, did not comply, forcing the officers to take extreme measures. How do they even have a security? Hey man, firework. >> What they discovered next [music] was heartstoppping and escalated the situation to a highly tense and dangerous moment in this police operation under there. Oh my god. There's one over there. >> Get out of here. >> Close your [ __ ] hands. Do it now. >> Got a firearm. Y'all better get out. >> Get out. I got one, too. Right on you. >> Better get out of here. >> I got to get on you. Y'all better get out of here. I don't care. Come on, man. Get out of here. >> I got to get on you. >> So what? I do, too. On two of you. I better get out of here. >> Y'all better get out of here, man. Get out of here. >> Pull it out. Show your hands. Show me your hands. I'm not showing you my hands. Get out of here. Show me your hands. >> Do it now. >> Get out of here. >> Do it now. Five more times. >> Y'all better start. Better listen. I'm I'm going start shoot. I'll see your foot. >> I'm going tell you one more time. >> Police. >> I'm going tell you one more time. I'm coming up over here. [ __ ] >> I can't see. >> 4. >> Can you see his hands? >> No. No. >> Can you get under the bed? He's under the bed. >> We need to take some. You stupid. Get calm down. Back out of here now. Put your hands behind your back. >> [screaming] >> Guys, guys, >> do not tuck that hand down. Do not touch that hand down behind your back. Now, >> hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Behind your back. Stop it. Put your hands [screaming] behind your back. I said >> all that. Hands behind your back. >> Keeps putting his hands behind his back. >> It's on They're on his head. >> Put him preventive. >> I got you. That >> hang on right now. >> Okay. >> The whole situation was insane, especially [music] when the female cop lost her mind and repeatedly tased the man under the bed. It was one of the most bizarre police encounters I've ever seen. [music] So unbelievable to see the nerve of some people just move into someone else's property and then threaten the police. Now we are only getting secure. Okay. >> I took a ride on that probe, man. >> All right. >> There you go. Hold right here. >> He's lucky to be alive right now. >> Oh, yeah. >> You good? >> I'm good. Yeah. >> Does he need anything? >> He's got all kinds of injuries. So, we'll check you downstairs. Okay. They said you did your legs. >> Yeah. Yeah, you do. He said you got to start at right. >> Oh, no. I'm saying you already check here. I don't know if it's fake or not behind this thing. I think it's a baby. >> What do you guys need? >> Nothing right now. >> Hang on. Let me tighten this. >> Did you see the lady in there? >> Yeah. >> She can't walk. She's not supposed to be here. >> I don't even know if we have this whole building clear. We don't yet. >> So, please >> I don't know. You put your clothes on. >> Pipe in there. >> So, that lady is not supposed to be here. >> No one. No one's supposed to hear >> besides the owner who's got that hoodie on the spreads. >> Him and his cousin. >> A large black male. The two black males. >> But that lady, she's not supposed to hear. No one's supposed to be here. >> Yeah. I already used my back, too. >> Not the way you act with officers. >> Hey, keep watching come through. Up until this point, the story had been intense, but there were more twists ahead. [music] >> Need everywhere. Show me your hands right now. Right now. [screaming] >> I'm actually caretaker. Okay. I'm actually caraker. >> I'm scared. I'm just scared. I'm not doing nothing. I'm just scared. >> I am taking care of her. That's why I'm here. >> Damn it. >> That's why I'm here. I'm not doing nothing. No, you're doing >> No, I'm not doing >> Yeah, right. >> I'm not doing I swear to God. >> I'm clean. I'm recovering at >> So, you're staying then? >> No, it's not. This guy next door was staying said he was working it off. Let me work it off for next. >> I'm sorry. >> I'm really not I'm not trying to fight. I'm not resisting that guy. >> But you're hiding. >> Get up. Get up. I'm scared and you're staying with him. >> You're going down there. >> Please, >> please. Nothing. Get in the car. Please tell them. >> No, absolutely not. We are not talking about that. >> Listen, I'm talking. We're going to the car. We're not doing any favors. We're going to the upstairs. >> She hasn't been searched. You're going to have to I don't know her name yet, but she is crazy. >> Yeah. >> Is it? I'm not sure. is I'm not trying to cause any problems. I really caretaker. I'm just scared. >> Yeah, I understand you're scared. >> Do yourself how scared we are. >> You're This man owns this place and weren't on the street. He asked you to leave the other day and you came back. >> Because this other guy that we ripped from told us that he didn't >> and he's a liar. >> And no, that's not that's not even a story because you're already instructed to leave. >> I was out here the other day when someone pointed a gun. Yes, we have a clear house. >> Do you keep anything in your garage? Money, phone, cards, anything like that? >> We We don't know. You obviously weren't taking very good care of her. >> Um, yeah. I was trying to get us out of here. >> She thought that was bad. Wait till you hear about the squatter named Christine Denise Roy who thought she was slick but her luck ran out faster than you can say stripper pole. >> She's done destroyed my house. Did you see the writing on the wall? No. >> I went >> now. Does it say right now? >> Yes. >> When we when >> I mean on the paper where does it say >> which one? I don't care. You're not getting out of the house. So get yourself and get out of the house or you go to jail. On the 4th of September 2021, [music] an officer responded to a call about a domestic dispute between a homeowner and his tenant known as Christine [music] Denise Roy. After speaking with the homeowner, the officer confronted Christine, who [music] refused to leave, immediately escalating the situation. Every time I come, since we served her this, every time I come over here, my brother escorts me over here. >> Mhm. >> I'm scared for my safety and she's crazy. She's the type that will say that I hit her. >> Hello. >> The cops have been coming over here about I bet they've been coming over here two, three times a week. The different things that she's done. Destroyed my house. Did you see the writing on the wall? Know the mattresses were in the way. The girls are even on my side. It's a restraining order place. Once I showed them my video of her spray painting my drive my car. Oh my god. I can't believe they're not arresting her. No, ma'am, they're not. Now it's going to be even worse. She's going to retaliate even more. Every time she gets serving something, she'd tear something up, break something in the house. See how she spray painted the house? I got her on film. >> This nice elderly guy had let a young lady stay at his place. However, when he finally asked her to [music] pay rent, Christine turned mean and started breaking stuff. He tried to evict her [music] legally, but that process was slow. Fortunately, a judge sped things up by issuing an order to stop her from stalking [music] him due to her bad behavior. air stuff real quick. I guess that paper I think he gave me the wrong one. Should be the non written one. >> [music] >> Yeah, this one. >> How did I receive a handwritten? >> What's that? >> Why did I receive a handwritten? >> Uh, sometimes the judges do that, but then before they get transposed on the computer, >> you still have the court date on the eight. >> The officer informed Christine of an upcoming court date and a temporary restraining order requiring her have no contact with the filer and stay 500 ft away from the address. Despite her confusion and claim that it was also her address, the officer insisted she must leave [music] immediately as per the judge's order, which was in effect until the court date. >> So, how much stuff do you have here? >> Um, well, okay. Right there in the driveway is where his RV was, and he moved it so he could go stay somewhere else. >> So, this is only temporary. Um, >> that's why he took his RV. >> Yeah. >> Until we worked this out. was unbelievable that the homeowner had to sleep in an RV in his own driveway while this woman squatted in his [music] house because she refused to leave the premises instead choosing to justify her continued stay. >> You can't be within 500 ft here. So once you are served >> what it doesn't have a time >> correct. >> So does that mean 24-hour notice? [clears throat] No, it's once once you're served technically I mean and like I said that that I'm not trying to be a dick about it but technically you are violating terms of a restraining order by being here right this second. So like I said it's not an issue of getting all your stuff just have to get it and go. >> It's unrealistic though. >> What do you mean? >> Just Christine said it was unrealistic to expect her to move immediately. But what's truly unrealistic is squatting in someone's home and just refusing to leave. >> So, how much stuff do you have here that you need to get out? >> Um, it'll probably take me 3 hours to get out. >> Okay. Can't be that long. So, I like >> I'll try to shorten the time, but I need to make some phone calls cuz I'm not just going to get in my car and start driving to nowhere. >> Well, in the meantime, we went inside, grabbed some things, and you have to get out. >> No problem. I need to make a couple phone calls first. >> Okay. Well, I need we need to pack up a few things and make the phone calls in the process. >> That sounds great and good. I'm going to do that. >> Um, but I'm going to sit down and make a couple phone calls first. I don't have that much stuff. >> Well, how much stuff do you have? >> Um, >> I'm trying to work with you here of of to try and get all your stuff out so you don't have to deal with anything later on. >> Right. Um, same. I mean, honestly, if I was, I don't really have much more than like some clothes and a couple dressers, you know. >> Yeah, let's step inside and work on that. >> The officer tried to get her to cooperate, offering [music] her a chance to pack her belongings while he made a phone call to find out where she could go. But despite his kind efforts, she chose to frustrate him. >> Calling somebody first. Okay, then you're not going to go back inside. One of the two. >> No, >> that's I'm I'm not trying to be a jerk about it. >> I don't think you can prevent me from getting my stuff or making a plan to have somewhere. >> You're you're standing here debating it with me as a problem. I'm telling you to go inside, pack your bag while you make a phone call >> to to call somebody, make a plan, and then >> with it doesn't matter about your plan. You have to get your stuff and get out of the house. >> That's fine. >> So, I'm making a plan to know where I'm going before I get my stuff. >> No, that's not what happens. >> That doesn't that sounds that doesn't sound very That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Like, no. Uh-uh. >> The judge says you have to be out of the house. So, you got to get your stuff and get out of the house now or not. I'm not going to sit here and be ignored. So, is that what you want to do? >> Cuz the other option is going to jail >> for making a point. >> Yes. If that's what you want to call it. Yes. You use whatever word you want or word whatever way you want or use whatever phrase you want. I don't care. You're not getting out of the house. So, get yourself and get out of the house or you go to jail. That's the two simple explanations to it. This is a serve DVI signed by the judge. Okay. You have to be out of this house. He says >> that's fine. >> So, we can go inside and get your stuff and get out or you can go to jail. I'm not going to sit here and stand there and debate this with you at your door. [music] Are we going to go to jail or you can get yourself out? >> By ignoring the officer's instructions and not replying for several seconds, Christine was beginning to test his patience. >> Christine, >> I'm looking some things up. >> Okay. I'm not here for you to look things up. I know you're not, but I feel like >> this this isn't definite. So, >> correct. It's a temporary order until your court date. So, you have to be out until your court date. So, you can look up all you want. That's fine. But I'm not going to sit here and debate this with you in the doorway. >> Debate whether or not you know where I'm going. You don't have a plan for me, do you? >> No. That's And I'm not trying to be That's >> your problem. Right. >> Correct. So, the judge says you have to be out of this house. You have to be out of this house. >> Okay. But we're not getting out of the house. So, like I said, we're not I'm not going to sit here all day and do this. >> Do you have resources for what? >> Should I sleep on the street? >> I just want to know where I should go. >> I don't care where you go. All I'm doing is telling you. >> That's not my problem, though. The judge says you have to be out of this house. I'm here to tell you you have to be out of this house. I'm trying to work with you on it and trying to get you get your stuff. If you don't want to get your stuff, that's fine. But you are going to leave this house. >> That's fine. I'm going to make it >> now. First, no. >> Please, please. No, >> you ain't got enough. >> Yes, I'm still here. After giving several instructions, the officer decided to physically remove her from the property. >> Yep. >> Don't put your hands on me. >> Change money back. >> Don't do off of me. Get off of me. Get off of me. >> Tuesday, how many know you had a tag team? >> Turn around and put hands behind your back. >> No. >> Turn around and put your hands behind your back. >> What am I doing? That's illegal. Stop. >> Turn around. >> No. I want you to tell me why you're putting me in handcuffs. >> You're under arrest. >> Don't do that. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back now. >> Don't do that. >> Turn around and put your hands behind your back. >> Why can't I stand up? >> Put your hands behind your back now. Put your hands roll over and put your hands behind your back. Roll over. >> Stop. I'm I'm trying I'm trying to get up for you. >> You're not getting up. Put your hands behind your back now. >> Do you really think it's necessary? >> Please stop. >> No. Put your hands behind your back. Stop. Roll over and put your hand behind your back now. >> All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. >> Put your hands behind your back now. 105. Case number two supervisor. >> No. >> During the confrontation, Christine tried [music] to dodge the officers by hiding behind a stripper pole she had installed in the house. According to the reports, 8 352 18 350. Meanwhile, another deputy listened to her side of the story. It was more like an [music] emotionally entitled rant justifying her unlawful stay in the property. >> He served me. Okay. The day before yesterday, I got served with a court filing. >> Okay. >> For a basically a court hearing. >> Uhhuh. for um my roommate is filed stalking on me for anyways. Well, today this officer come knocking on the door at the same time with my roommate. >> Okay. >> But and told me that the judge ordered a temporary injunction. >> Okay. and that I needed to leave right away. >> Okay. >> So, I told him, "Okay, well, I need to make some plans, some arrangements." >> Okay. >> You know, um and basically he was like, "No, you can't make any arrangements. You just have to get your stuff and get out." >> After sharing her details, Christine sounded more resourceful and [music] determined, likely to find another free spot to squat. Can I still make a plan for somewhere to go? >> No, you're going to go to jail now. >> Why? >> Cuz you fought with the deputy. >> So, >> how so? >> What do you mean how so? >> I mean, how >> you you didn't do what he told you by gathering up your stuff and getting out of the house. So, you're violating the injunction. And then when he came in and told you you're under arrest, you didn't go quietly and peacefully. You fought back. So, you get charged with violating the domestic injunction and resisting an officer >> that I just received. >> Mhm. Cuz that injunction says you have to vacate the house right now. And by not doing it, you're violating that injunction. >> I wasn't even given the opportunity. >> The same one that showed up to give it to me is the one arresting. >> Yeah, because you weren't going to get your stuff. >> I don't have a problem getting my stuff. >> But you didn't do it. You argued for a while and then you made a phone call. >> I just had questions. >> Okay. Well, you didn't need to ask questions. You needed to get your stuff. That's what he told you. Get your stuff and then you can ask questions after you do that. All right. Um, >> I'm going to go take care of this and then we'll head over to the jail and we'll have some we'll have a crime scene person take some pictures of the taser marks. >> Okay. >> All right. Hang on a bit. >> In the end, Christine faced [music] charges for breaching a court-ordered injunction against stalking the homeowner, obstructing without resisting an officer, refusing to leave, and misusing 911. One.
