what what drugs do you do that you're so hooked on that you don't want to go to rehab poured out here freezing today [Music] the star of today's video is a man named Arman although when you watch the video you'll hear the officer call him Lamont the reason he calls him Le Mans is because nobody's perfect Armand is a local drug addicted homeless person that resides primarily on the west side of Columbus he's been on the channel before interacting with this same officer how long have you been living on the street man all my license are 12 years old since you were 12 yeah and you're not a young man anymore what are you 47 yeah that's a long time on the street on this particular day the officer was out on routine Patrol in the late December and in Columbus Ohio the winters tend to get very cold the officer was aware that there was a cold front moving in so he stopped to talk to Armand to see if he had made any arrangements so he'd be inside and warm during the upcoming cold front I just thought this would be a good video to show you show that these are the kinds of conversations that happen frequently between police officers and homeless people and drug addicts that live in the communities where they serve oh how you doing buddy I was just stopping to say hi it's Lamar right again what yeah [Music] is that the day that I was there enough to get your stuff out of the shed [Music] s Thursday next week not gonna rehab yeah Monday to start Monday Thursday is Thursday yeah yeah so Monday it is all right yeah I was just catching up with him yeah what'd she ask you to do oh okay I saw you had a broom earlier I didn't know what you were doing so whoa so really so see Monday was Monday she's working on Monday morning guys foreign yeah it's gonna be freezing it's gonna be freezing rain today and then it's gonna get down to negative two degrees tonight yeah and it's gonna start snowing wow so it's gonna we're gonna get hit dude I know and she said that she was like um it's gonna get cold bro I'm not opening a door I saw you I'm gonna have to do something and it's only like like you know how like you send me to that uh cyborg yeah where they send me there from from they don't they only keep you for um like a week what was that place like was that a rehab or a mental place [Music] I really don't know what I'm doing what what drugs do you do that you're so hooked on that you don't want to go to rehab I know but you're gonna be bored out here freezing to death oh no I'm wrong foreign yeah and I've seen you walk in ever since I I got in my car yeah I've seen you a couple times I was always going the wrong way so I couldn't stop yeah and I saw you over here I figured I could stop and get out of the car it's no big deal yeah probably I've been making my rounds um I don't know man I don't know if I went to my doctor's web I [ __ ] up with Mr um I missed the oh I was running on the Southeast as I see about a job [Applause] yeah I know one like I don't I think that Netcare down there is still talking to people they're not doing crisis like they're not letting you check in but you can still go down there and make arrangements and stuff to talk to social workers and stuff that's right around the corner you can always do that I mean they just they don't have beds or anything anymore at least I don't think they do where you oh what's that no they they lost their funding I uh they still do some kind of Outreach but I'm not sure exactly what they do um but they can help you get with your social worker and stuff and get your job interviews and things but you know I mean we both know until you get yourself clean and healthy you can get an apartment and you'll just lose it anyway we don't know because your brain's not working right man I wish that I could I wish there was something I could do to convince you to make the right decisions you know what you gotta do it's it's hard but it's a lot harder to be out here in the cold isn't it where's he at is he still up in like yeah oh he's not at the off go to college downtown so um okay yeah but he can't let you stay there I know he'll get kicked out you need to get back to you need to find a way back to Southeast let them help you man yeah foreign what drugs do you use generally oh is that the main one so when you went into the psych ward for like a week and then went the other place did you have bad withdrawals yeah so that's that's the hardest part yeah for most people did they give you anything they give you Suboxones or anything like that really I don't know why I'm good really how much do you use a day all right one 20 bucks it's not that bad make sure they didn't just send me on something else do you know where all the warming stations are and stuff no so you get out of the cold oh my God normal is that one of them okay so you know how to get around I think honestly my first officer like [ __ ] really like don't come back have you ever gone up to Jordan's Crossing to talk to them you're aware of them all right they do yeah I know yeah I know up on Hague by the tracks they're good people they'll help you keep they'll help getting in contact with the right people and stuff like that too so I don't know man is there anything I can do for you right now you're just gonna earn a couple bucks all right man well I'll get out of here let's do your work I know it is it's a mess man I'll let you be all right I'll see you around yep [Applause] 9101 I got my pictures here I'll go ahead and start down there to North Meadows on that 17. okay thank you [Music] foreign
