Please walk over to your car. >> hear what he says. He's lying. >> Go to your car. >> You hit him, man. >> I didn't hit him, though. That's the >> You can say you didn't, but I It's hard for me to to just believe. >> He's lying to you. >> He's not, though. >> And that's stalking and harassment. >> It's not. All right, internet. I'm Frank Slope. I've got 25 years as a deputy sheriff here in Arizona. Today, we're going to be doing some body cam breakdown. Florida cop cams is the channel where we found this video, and it looks good cuz it's a traffic-related video and it ends up being right in my wheelhouse. So, while we're checking this video out, as always, we got body cam bingo on deck. So, we've got card number three today. Uh we sell them in a pack of five, and if you want to play along, play body cam bingo at home, you could order cards at bodycambingo.com. Check out this traffic collision. >> I was on the way to work, and uh maybe a lighter street before 59th. Uh there was like a trolley there. This lady was uh she's actually behind me. Street beside this >> Hang on. Please walk over to your car. >> to hear what he says. >> Go to your car. >> Jeez. Sorry, I didn't want to deal with this in the morning, but Uh so, yeah. So, she was uh she was from behind me speeding through, cutting through multiple people, and then she ended up getting onto the left side and lane, and uh I was on the right side, no turn signal. She just went straight into me, and uh I was able to go onto the sidewalk, so it prevented a lot of that >> Walk on the sidewalk. >> pulled over, thinking she was going to stop, and she did not stop, and she kept going. And there was actually red paint on here, but then when I, you know, followed her here, and I asked her, you know, if she hit me, she came up, and you know, she's saying that she didn't hit me or whatever, and she started wiping it, and I guess the red paint went away, but yeah, she did leave a little mark on the front of her car I saw. Stop at the old 7-Eleven. >> Uh good morning. >> Morning. >> So, what's going on? >> Um, I was driving down 64. Couldn't tell you exactly where. There was a trolley in front of me. He was behind me. He was not in front of me. I had my turn signal on to go merge over right, and he floors it and says that I hit him. I did not hit him. I slammed on my brakes. It's a brand new car. I heard that it's very loud. If you look at my car, there's not a lick of damage on it. Not a single thing that even shows that I remotely even touched him. And I'm seeing it as he sees a brand new car. He has damage on his vehicle, and he's trying to pull that I hit him. >> Okay. >> I did not hit him. I slammed on my brakes, and I was nowhere near him. He saw a close call and is trying to call that I did that to his vehicle. There's no damage whatsoever to my vehicle. >> Okay. What would make you go over and start wiping the side of his car? >> To show him that it was dust. >> Okay. All right. >> But, there's nothing >> We'll walk down and look at it. >> But, this is from where I can pull, and I have video proof of where this is where >> [laughter] >> Right here, so I can just walk by. >> So, there's damage to your car in the same spot. Absolutely not. No. >> So, how did this damage get here? Right here on the side of your car. And all this. >> no idea. That's not from today. And that's dust. >> So, this is a >> There she goes trying to wipe it off again. >> Impact right here. >> Not from him. I didn't hit him. >> Okay. Well, >> I I did not hit him, officer. I'm telling you the honest truth. I did not hit him. I slammed on my brakes, and my My are loud. >> No. >> And you got wheel damage. >> I have no wheel damage. >> You do have wheel damage. >> Working the hours of a cop, it's hard to stay healthy. Part of my routine that I actually enjoy is this video sponsor, Cowboy Colostrum. Now, fall is here and you need to be ready for cold and flu season. I live in Arizona, so the weather's getting better and the germs are getting worse. Now, I've been going to the gym a lot more lately. I'm taking my supplements and I'm watching what I eat. And the one thing I don't skip is Cowboy Colostrum. It tastes great in a glass of milk. Now, Cowboy Colostrum is great for your gut. When your gut health is good, everything else follows. Colostrum is the very first milk and it's rich in bioactives like immunoglobulins and growth factors. That's your immune system's front line. Cowboy Colostrum offers the highest quality bovine colostrum available in the US. Getting back into a routine does not have to be overwhelming. And this is one of the small consistent habits that actually delivers. For a limited time, my viewers get up to 25% off their entire order. Just head to cowboycolostrum.com/frank and use code Frank at checkout. That's 25% off when you use code Frank at cowboycolostrum.com/frank. >> There she goes trying to wipe that off, too. >> There it was, officer. >> Okay. So, you see your wheel's all messed up. All these marks, this right here, that's fresh. Okay? So, >> You're a liar. >> I do crashes. I I go I've been to a >> seven and I was rear-ended last night. There's no damage whatsoever to my vehicle. So, he's lying. >> So, you're saying that your vehicle has never been in a uh accident. When I first started talking to you, you have no damage to it. Now, you're saying you're rear-ended last night and I'm looking at this and I can see that this is consistent with what he's saying, consistent with the damage to the side of his car. So, I I'm going to write it up. You can contest it with your insurance company, okay? But, I I can see it. >> I didn't hit him, though. There's no way to prove that that's from today. I didn't hit him. >> Okay. All right. >> This is a brand new car, and I don't >> Ma'am, ma'am, this is a civil issue, no matter what, okay? It's a civil issue. >> So, this citation is going to be a very simple citation. If the officer writes it, um here in Arizona, because the way that the damage looks like one vehicle made a lane change into another vehicle, we have a citation here called unsafe lane change. Um it's the same verbage as failure to drive in a single lane, but it has to do with a vehicle's movement within the lane on the roadway. Um it's a civil citation, meaning that there's no criminal consequence. It is simply you can go to driving school, you can pay the fine, or you can go to court and say, "Hey, that wasn't me." That's it. Those are Those are your three options. Here in Arizona, I would imagine in Florida, there's something very simple. Um the officer says, "Hey, this is just a civil infraction." So, it's got to be something right about the same. >> But, if an accident occurred, then >> No, but I'm telling you no accident occurred. >> But, you're telling me your car has never had damage. Now, I'm seeing the damage that's consistent with his car. And you're telling me you don't know how it happened, but it didn't happen today. >> Yeah, right. >> Cuz I didn't hit him. >> Okay, but you got to understand it. I'm an outsider looking in. He's telling me one side of the story. I'm coming to get the other side of the story. And when I look at the damage, the damage is consistent to suggest that your vehicle did impact his car. >> Great way to explain that. >> You can dispute that, but it it's obvious. I'm not here trying to be evil to you. I understand that you probably don't >> me into the parking lot. >> I I would, too. >> He saw a Target, and he followed me into the >> This is not about targeting. This has nothing to do with targeting. This just has to do with doing the right thing. You got into a minor minor accident. It's a minor accident. That's it. >> This officer is doing a great job of investigating the two sides of the story. Now, we very commonly say, "Hey, there's three sides to every story." There's his side, there's her side, and there's the truth that lies somewhere in between. Um his interview with the male driver was really simple. Guy's like, "We're going here. I was doing this. She did that. She moved into me." Very, very simple. Very believable. And the damage to his car would you know, it's not like, "Hey, I got T-boned." It was it's absolutely consistent with those movements that he described on the on the roadway. Now, when the officer talks to this lady, she's got this elaborate story of how this driver saw a car that was new, and he already had damage, and he's like, "I need an insurance claim. So, I'm going to follow this lady into a parking lot." And it's just None of it is believable. Not one bit of that story is believable. So, as we're looking here, and we're just analyzing just the two interviews, you could see how grossly different they are. And if you're going to lend credibility towards one version, I would absolutely lend more credibility towards this. >> And you're 100% certain without a doubt she impacted your car and everything like that. >> Okay. >> And it would just be the damage that's identified right here. >> Uh yeah. I don't think that's >> Not not that, but just this right here. >> Okay. >> Looks like it. >> All right. And she came over here started rubbing. >> Yeah, she came over here started taking pictures of it, and then started rubbing it off and say, "Hey, this is just dust. This is just dust." It was red paint though. >> Okay. >> It's not dust. Unless it's on her hand still. Catch her red-handed, but uh >> I see what you did there. >> I didn't hit you. I'm leaving. And I you know, I put the 911 operator on the phone saying that she has to stay there. >> I just want to make sure that I'm not getting cited. >> Oh, I So, this is Florida no-fault, okay? Uh accidents are a civil issue. If I can determine an at-fault driver, then uh or the cause the driver that's the cause of the accident, then a citation is typically given. Okay? >> I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. >> So, this female driver is absolutely adamant that there was no contact between these two vehicles. And she says she doesn't have any damage on her vehicle, and her vehicle's brand new, and this is just an insurance scheme. And then, this officer, who is trained to investigate collisions, looks at her car and says, "Well, right here on your front bumper, there's damage, and then there's damage on your rim, and all of that damage is consistent with striking a car side to side." And then, all of the sudden, her story changes to "I was rear-ended last night. Then, I hit a curb. And the damage on the bumper? Well, I have no idea how that got there. It's definitely not the collision that I was just involved in, cuz I wasn't involved in a collision. But, there's mysterious damage, all of which lines up exactly with the version of events uh as described by the male driver. So, I I again, there's just no credibility to this woman's story. And then, she goes, "Hey, can I just not be cited for this? I If I was involved in a non-collision, I would There's no way I would ask to Oh, can I just not be cited? I would demand it because nothing happened. But, she seems to really accept the fact that like the gig is up and that the officer isn't buying her version because it just makes no sense. >> Once again, he's lying. Flat-out lying to you. He sees consistent damage with the vehicle. He sees a brand new car and he's trying to get an insurance claim out of it. >> How can he see damage and come up with me? >> How can he see consistent damage with a with a vehicle? >> There's the Grandma, my tires from when I hit a curb. >> Okay. >> guarantee that. >> Okay. Go guarantee it. >> There's no other damage on the car. That scrap could have been from anything. >> Okay. >> I hit my brakes and when he's saying that I hit him, I slammed >> It could have happened by for anything. >> me hit his car. I did not hit his car, officer. >> Okay. I >> I didn't hit him. I I I know when I've gotten into an accident. I I didn't hit his car. He he sees he sees the brand new car and wants to get an insurance claim out of it. He followed me into the parking lot. >> Yeah, he followed you because you hit him, man. >> I didn't hit him, though. That's the >> You can say you didn't, but you're a hit-and-run driver. For me to to just believe that somebody that's just going to work is going to randomly say, "Hey, I just got hit by this person and this is the vehicle that did it." >> the brakes, so he thought he could use that as a reason to say that >> of a sudden the damage just shows up on his car and the damage is consistent with the >> idea. That could have been there for a week or two. >> understand where this doesn't add up? >> So dumb. >> I'm not here to try to be evil to you. I'm here to do the right thing by people. >> You're doing the wrong thing. He's lying to you. >> He's not, though. I can guarantee you that. Why else would you walk up to his car and start rubbing it off and say, "Nope, I didn't hit you."? >> Because I didn't hit him. >> Okay, but these are odd behaviors. You told me you you haven't been in an accident. Then you told me you were in an accident last night. I look at the damage on the side of your car, it's consistent with what he's saying. >> I need to call a lawyer. >> Okay, that's fine. These are civil issues. This is between you >> Lawyer, got it. Insurance companies. >> and an insurance premium raise because of his idiocy. And the way he disrespected me. He didn't even have the decency to come up to me and say anything. He followed me into the parking If anything, that's stalking and harassment. >> It's not. It's not. >> And he's saying he was in front of me, he was behind me. So, he doesn't even know what happened. There's no way I would have hit him where I he's saying I hit him if he was in front of me. That doesn't make any sense. He said he was in front of me. >> You're in another lane and he's if ahead of you, but you're in another lane. >> ahead of me. He was coming up behind me. I went to get over right and he floored it in front of me. He was coming up >> What's a good phone number for you? >> And and I'm not going to apologize for someone accusing me of something. >> asking you to apologize for anything. Is this address correct here in Palmetto? Is that >> Have her insurance information. >> Yep. It has uh so, vehicle one is listed as her, has her insurance company and vehicle two and your insurance company, okay? Driver one, driver two, okay? We don't do fault here, so it's up to the insurance companies, but we do say, "Hey, you were the cause of the crash that wouldn't have happened if it didn't happen if you didn't do this, right?" So, that's what we kind of do in the city of Palmetto, okay? >> But like, she can't say that she did it, right? Like, it never happened, right? >> Um >> All right, so >> I mean, >> She can say whatever she wants. >> You saw the red light? >> Well, I'm going to document the the consistency of the uh the impact here along with the consistent impact on her vehicle. >> Adam, I'm Brittany's father. I happen to be in the area, actually. >> Okay. >> And figured I'd stop by. What's cooking? >> Um so, I'm getting ready to just take the photographs. I I've already taken care of him. I'm going to give her the paperwork and we're all set. >> Um are you citing her? >> Yes, I am going to cite her. >> Okay. Um >> It's not even consistent with where it's hit on her. >> Everything is consistent. 100% consistent. >> He didn't say anything. >> Who doesn't have the decency? Okay. I'm I'm I'm not sure what you're looking for as far as that goes. >> I didn't hit him, officer. That's from me hitting a curb in a parking lot. >> It's just super random damage. Crazy. I'm not taking any sides, ma'am. Your story hasn't lined up since the time I arrived here. It hasn't. You've literally said that I didn't get in an accident. I There's no damage on my car. Come look at my car. And now as soon as I point out the damage that would be consistent with the damage to his car. >> That's not from an accident, though. That's from me hitting a curb. >> You're saying that. So, up here you hit a curb that's this tall. >> There's That's not from hitting a curb, officer. That's from something else. >> It's just something else. Everything that you're saying is not consistent. It's not. >> What he's saying is inconsistent. What what what the >> I'm not arguing with you. I'm not arguing with you. I'm doing my job. >> Yeah, I'm sorry, officer. So, I did not So, I understand. I will try to talk to her. Um what can I see the pictures of his car? Just so you can explain to me. >> So, on the side of his car Yeah, come over here. I'm not trying to be rude. >> No, you're not. I I understand. >> But, there's nothing >> So, >> So, that is very consistent with the the rub mark that's on her tire, the damage that's on her rim, and then the part of the front of her car coming in contact and kind of dragging. That's what that's consistent with, which is also consistent with his damage. So, I find it very hard. I'm not trying to say your daughter's a liar. >> I I understand. >> I find it very hard that this guy is just going to make up this entire story and say that she did this. And when I look at her car, it has the damage that's consistent with the damage that he has. >> And looking at those pictures, and again, you've been doing this long enough, I'm sure, that things look wacky. >> Sometimes the most obvious answer is the right answer. >> No, I I can't say what happened cuz I wasn't here. >> Exactly. >> All I do is look at the evidence and say I'm sorry, but this is this is kind of what's here. And I know she's upset, and she's frustrated, but I I look at this and I say, "I'm sorry, but this this lines up." This Everything that he's saying makes sense. And when I started talking to her, she was like, "I I didn't I wasn't in an accident. I didn't get in a crash. Uh my vehicle's never been in a crash." Okay? And she said, "Go look at my car. There's no damage anywhere." Then I walk up there and start pointing out the damage, and then she's like, "Well, that she said something else. It wasn't even uh or she said she didn't know where that came from. Then she's saying now uh >> I get it. >> a curb hit it. So, everything about it. And then she told me, "Well, I got rear-ended last night. I've been in seven crashes." But you initially told me that you weren't. Everything about what she's been saying hasn't been accurate or truthful. >> I understand. So, it makes >> very much like >> I get it. >> You know, so I I'm not trying to be evil to her. >> No, no, no, no. >> I I have to do a job, and when I look at this, I >> Good investigation. Good investigation and good articulation. >> Again, you have The key thing he said was, "You do this all day." I look at it once. You do it all day. >> Right. >> And I can't really make a inform I mean >> It's hard, and it takes time to learn this, but crash I mean I'm on the the THIT like for traffic homicides and everything. I I literally look at crash data and I'm still learning and developing myself, but I do this all the time. >> No, and I so >> So this officer is part of Bradenton Police Department's THI or their traffic homicide investigators. So this guy is the in the same unit that I'm in. Um we have a unit part of the traffic unit is called VCU or our vehicular crimes unit. Same thing. They're investigating serious injury collisions, injuries involving fatalities, um big very complex investigations where you start dealing with the physics of recreating um vehicles moving on the roadway and the energy that is transferred from one vehicle to the other and vehicles movement. It's it's very in-depth um and really focuses on the the minutia of how vehicles move on the roadway. Um they read a lot of evidence, both evidence on the roadway like tire skid or scuff um or yaw and also you start talking about intrusion into a vehicle, um how much a vehicle crushes, how it compacts um during the course of a collision investigation. So a lot of this is this guy is a is the top in vehicle collision investigations. Him investigating this collision is like a homicide investigator investigating a schoolyard fight. Like that's how simplistic this vehicle collision investigation is compared to other investigations that this unit does and is involved in. Um so when he's looking at this, very quickly he comes to a conclusion based on training and experience that is far above the level required to of any other police officer to investigate this collision. He is absolutely the right guy for this job. >> All right. [snorts] So, this is the driver exchange form. This is the same form that I gave to him. On this form, when you contact your insurance, you're going to want to give them the HSMV report number. That's the highway safety motor vehicle crash report number that's been generated for this. And this is the agency case number. We don't really do anything but document that that we came out here for the crash, but that's the agency case number that's associated with it. >> Interesting. >> Your insurance you're going to want to give them both those those numbers. Once the crash report's finalized, they'll be able to reach out to us and pull that crash report, and then they'll start the the the process of getting everything repaired, okay? On here, you're listed as vehicle one and driver one. He was listed as vehicle two, driver two. I did write you a citation. The citation is for careless operation of a motor vehicle. You have 30 days to take care of the citation. If you don't take care of the citation within 30 days, they'll suspend your driver's license. All the options to take care of the citation are in off to the right side here. You just got to select one of those options and follow through with that option within the 30-day window. >> I'm going to choose the >> It's a civil infraction. It's 166. >> Okay. >> So, other than that, we're all set. Everybody's all set. I've taken the photographs. The photographs will be a part of the case, and then the insurance companies can work it out from there. >> Okay, good enough for me. >> All right. Please be safe. >> All right, thank you, sir. >> Yes, sir. Take care. Be safe. >> All we got was mention his lawyer or court. That's it. Out of all of the flapping that her mouth did, she just didn't check any other boxes. So, better luck next time, but card three wasn't a winner today. You know what's always a winner?
