I'm going to call my daddy, and we're going to have bad ass lawsuits. >> No, absolutely not. >> Oh, you're making it worse. You're that kind of girl. >> I'm going to make you work for my daddy. >> Call my daddy. >> 2025. All right, everyone. I'm Frank Slope. I'm a 25-year veteran of a sheriff's office here in Arizona. Today, we're going to be doing some body cam breakdown. So, we found today's video on Real Body Cams, and it looks like it's been pretty popular for them. So, I'm going to check it out and see if it's popular for us, too. While I check it out, Body Cam Bingo is the game of the day. We're going to be using card number five. We sell them as a set. Check out bodycambingo.com. You'll be able to find everything you want there. But, for right now, let's uh let's put this marker to work. >> Officers in Florida were already responding to 911 calls about a reckless driver in a white Volkswagen when the same driver was seen speeding at over 90 mph, spinning out of control, [music] and slamming into a pole and a parked car. Witnesses reported seeing the 25-year-old driver stumble from the car just moments before police arrived. But, she adamantly insisted she wasn't the one behind the wheel. Here's what the officers did next. >> I'm getting her right now. >> We might have three in the car here. >> What? >> Well, then don't drink and drive. >> Okay. Who was actually involved in the crash itself? >> One person. >> They're already being assisted by the fire department. >> So, if you guys don't mind, I'll talk to you in a second. I'm just going to see if >> She's on the other side. You can smell it on the breath. >> Okay. >> I'll be inside. >> Okay. I appreciate you. Thank you. >> Side curtain airbags. >> Some white Volkswagen. >> She is very aware. >> She is. >> Hasn't been in the car for over an hour. Wants us to prove that she was in an accident. They told she told, I guess, everyone here that she had nothing to do with that accident. She said she's fine. She's the only one that needs the attention. >> She's coherent. >> Wow. >> Is this your car, do you think? >> I think so. >> Do we know if this was involved in >> Yes, she's in the car. >> Can you tell me your last name? >> Oh, you don't want to >> She's not wearing a shirt. >> It's not that deep, dude. >> You got to see that. So, it sounds like, on the initial approach here, law enforcement gets there and the driver of this vehicle has fled, has been contacted by fire, and they're trying to put this case together. So, because that none of the law enforcement officers have seen her in the vehicle, they've got to build this case. So, they need they need to interview witnesses, they need to talk to her and then interview her. This isn't as easy as just walking up to a car with an impaired driver and then arresting them. They need to build a more thorough case with other um with other evidence except or in addition to what their own observations are. >> I'm not trying to be a dick. >> I'm just I'm just asking you a question. If you don't want to go, all I need you to do is sign this paper. >> I don't understand why you're being really like really rude to me, bro. Like >> If you don't want I got an ambulance here. >> I don't want to >> I just need you to sign this paper. Do you want to sign it? >> I don't want to sign it. It's not a DUI. Like I'm not trying to be a dick. >> If it's not a DUI, you should have no problem signing >> I don't have a problem, but like you're like chat-chatting with my friends with sandwiches. >> Hey. >> You're talking >> we talked to. >> Hey, Aiden. >> Aiden. >> First can I stand? >> He's talking to me. Yes. Um so, I'm not trying like a little I'm not even trying to be anti-way, but like my friends sent to Everyone hangs out in Eagleville. And he acts that way and then he's like, "Oh, I'm I'm trying to pull you over for eight different types of DUIs." And I'm like, I have never tried to ever drive my car out of here. >> So, were you driving just now? >> No. >> No? How did you get over here? >> I didn't. I was sitting over here drinking with my friends. >> Like you've been here? >> Yeah, I've been here. That's my thing. Like I'm not trying to be a [ __ ] but like that's kind of weird. >> Sure. >> Okay. Do you Do you have a driver's license on you? I do. You can pull me over. I'm 25 years old. You want to drive me? >> Sure. Part of my daily routine is stopping by a convenience store for an energy drink and a snack. Now, I looked for some healthy chips, but every time I checked out the ingredients, it was all junk. I wish I just brought my Masa Chips to work. Now, I've been telling you about Masa Chips for months now, and that's because I really like them. Masa Chips contain just three ingredients: organic nixtamalized corn, sea salt, 100% grass-fed beef tallow. And that's it. Now, my favorite part about them isn't just the health, but it's how crunchy they are. Masa Chips are not going to break in your guacamole. There's a reason that Sprouts, Wegmans, Target, and Whole Foods have all picked them up. This is the real deal. You're ready to give Masa a try? Go to masachips.com/frank and use code frank26 for 25% off your first order. Now, one thing to know, because Masa uses real ingredients and they make everything in small batches, certain flavors go out of stock regularly. Now, I just got my hands on cabanero again, and it was sold out for weeks. Again, that's masachips.com/frank. Use code frank26 for 25% off. Or, you could click the link in the video description, or you could just scan the QR code. >> I'm going to go pull over on my car, if that's okay. It's around the corner because I didn't drive because I'm not irresponsible. Okay, so around the corner because I didn't drive because I'm not irresponsible. It's around the um Volkswagen Jetta. But, I don't drive because I'm not irresponsible with >> So, the scenario is though, I guess no one ever That's why I said Cuz you've been drinking. >> But, I was never driving. >> So, there are plenty of people who said they were witnesses to seeing you driving. They got the video. >> And you're kind of wearing something specific. >> I never drove, so I'm kind of confused though on that one. >> But, I'm just telling you what >> And we're telling you what you guys should have you get a court and I was never driving cuz I don't drive. I would never do that. Like, do you see this? Like, I'm like, "Oh, I'm not driving." I wasn't boosting that [ __ ] Like, >> What's your last name? >> For what? >> You were involved in a crash. >> I'm suing them for what? >> You were involved in a crash. You have to give me your license and >> But, but I >> Or we can just go to the Jefferson or is it that's where we're at? >> But, I didn't crash anything. Ask him. Did I crash my car? >> Yep. >> No. So, >> We were in here. >> No, I was in here. >> It's like we were in here. >> [laughter] >> Did I crash my car? No, like I'm not trying to be a [ __ ] but like in a crash I >> Yeah, here you are. So, I was trying to look as I was watching this video and I I couldn't zoom in. I'm Yeah, I'm I'm watching it from a little ways away, but typically when airbags deploy, if you're holding onto your steering wheel, you get some abrasions on the insides of your wrist from the propellant. Um same thing on the side, if you have those side curtain airbags, especially in Volkswagens, super safe car, um they've got airbags in the sides of their seats to prevent from side impact injuries. So, when those deploy, there is an accelerant that sometimes will leave some burns. Um no one here in this investigation mentioned it, but um it is it's something that when I'm investigating a crash, which I obviously I do for a living, um when I'm there and there is a question as to who or who may not have been in the driver driver seat, I'm always looking for those injuries that are consistent with being a driver at the time of a collision. Um and that's some of them is what side your side airbags on, um and then of course stuff on your on your wrist from the airbag. So, um maybe a seatbelt mark on the shoulder. Uh if she was wearing her seatbelt, if the seatbelt is locked, then you'd know she was wearing it. There's all sorts of different things that we look at um to establish who is the driver at the time of the collision Um if they're not in the driver's seat and no one wants to tell the truth. >> I understand what you guys are saying and I get it. It doesn't make sense crosswise, but I've never ever touched my car and I've never been drinking and driving home. So that's a funny haha. >> So how'd your car get crashed? >> pull a Can you pull a tab of when I've been drinking so I can give it to her? She's asking. Can you ask her? She's asking for it. No, cuz you guys have no jack [ __ ] about No, this is Melbourne police officers have nothing about I'm not trying to be a [ __ ] >> Do you mind just signing that sheet if you have to sign it? >> 100% That's what we're doing. >> Perfect. >> I'm going to pull my daddy in and you guys are going to have a bad ass lawsuit. >> Wow. >> Have fun. >> Okay. >> Congratulations. >> I don't mean it like I don't want to be like that. >> Well, you're being like it, so. >> You quoted them more than anything, dude. >> I was just trying to check the out and make sure you're not You're okay. I don't feel bad about anything else. >> Super easy. >> Caitlin, come here. You got to say you're unfortunately just because of what happened. You say you're going to be in a police stop off. You can do FSTs which are like tests of if you're over the limit of alcohol. I am 20. So if you don't want to do that, it's fine. I'm giving you the option. I am 25 years old. >> Yeah. Old enough to crash a car. >> Do you want to do FSTs or not? >> For what? I'm not trying to be a [ __ ] but like >> So So here's a here's a deal, okay? >> trying to be a [ __ ] but like >> listen listen to me. Here's the deal. >> I'm not trying to be a [ __ ] >> Obviously there was Obviously there was a crash, right? We have finished our crash investigation and now we are moving into a DUI investigation, okay? So that being said, I have to read you something before we continue asking any questions, okay? This doesn't mean you're going to jail. It's just something that I have to read you before we keep asking you questions, okay? >> Okay. >> Before you ask any questions, you must understand your rights. You have the right to remain silent. >> Stop talking. >> If you stop talking and listen to me, you'll be less confused. You have the right to remain silent. >> Anything you say can be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice before we ask you any questions. Does that all make sense? >> Yeah, I don't see what I did wrong. >> these rights in mind, are you willing to talk to >> Except for her being a [ __ ] the entire conversation. >> So, having these rights in mind, are you willing to talk to us? >> I I don't I haven't done anything. >> Okay. Okay. So, you're okay with talking to us right now, right? And explaining what happened? >> I'll take I'll take I didn't do anything. >> When? >> Okay. So, >> The only time I ever said I I talked to I said it happened a couple years ago. It's like >> If you need something, we can >> No. Honestly, no. No. If it If it said this and this and this and this and this, no. >> Have you been Have you been drinking at all today? >> No. But, like if it's a No. You're being Okay, I'm going to be completely honest with you. You've been nothing but rude as [ __ ] >> Are you willing to perform some field sobriety exercises for us? >> He's been nice. You have been nothing but not >> That's not true. I'm being nice. Are you willing to do field sobriety exercises for us? >> Um I'm not I'm not trying to be a [ __ ] but like You can talk to him with me. You can do the talking. >> Yeah, here you are. >> Talk to your friend, buddy. >> Are you Are you willing to do field sobriety exercises for us? >> Well, I'm going to go home at this point because like she >> You're not going anywhere. >> As far as I see, I don't >> No. So, I I'm like you're being a [ __ ] You're being a [ __ ] And I'm like I haven't done anything. I've come out. I've hung out. I've placed every field sobriety test you wanted. I was hanging out with my >> You're not going anywhere. >> And you played my friends. >> Okay. >> And you played you You played the friends with my friends to get tests out of me, which is kind of on your end. >> On my end? >> Well, you got to test out my friends. Is that how you wanted it? >> met you before. What are you talking about? >> you guys see it? >> All right. So, this is what I'm the one that called you guys before the accident. I was at the red light over the bridge. And it was like 5 seconds I looked in my mirror like and the cars are about to turn and stop traffic and all of a sudden like two like 110 miles an hour almost a collision. >> I saw her in the windshield and her eyes were like rolling and she was like on the >> So she was in the car? >> She was in the car. >> her in the car? >> Yes. >> So raise your right hand for me. Can you swear what you just told me that you were that you were seeing like the way that you >> I've never seen that before. >> Going back to my original question, have you had anything to drink today? >> I had two drinks. >> Okay. How long ago was that? >> Um 6 hours. >> 6 hours ago? Okay. Where did you have those drinks at? >> At Goomba's. >> At where? >> Goomba's. That was all I had. >> Okay. What did you have to drink then? >> I had a neutral and another neutral. >> Okay. Two neutrals. >> I got to have a drink. >> I got you. You're 25 years old. You're more than allowed to have a drink. You're allowed to have a drink. That's fine. >> No, I can't have a drink. >> Were you coming Were you coming from there when this happened? >> I wasn't driving, dude. I was sitting there. I wasn't moving. >> Okay. I got you. >> I was in that mobo, like that was like my whole I'm not moving and you're >> Where's your Where's your car at right now? >> Over there because I didn't drive because your friends would threaten me with if I drive that was bad bad for me. >> Okay. >> That was like those are your friends where it's like if I drive that's a bad bad no no. >> So I was about a little over halfway over the bridge and she swerved and comes super super close to hitting my car and then at the last second kind of moves misses my car and then there's a white car right in front of me and then I don't remember what kind of car it was but it was a car to my left and she comes up slams on the brakes like super super close to hitting that white car squeezes those two cars and just heads straight into right where it starts to curve bounces off of that and then after she bounced off of that the car just went out of the way and I couldn't really see where it went after that. >> How did the car end up like hitting the wall? >> It's not my car. >> Whose car is it? >> He's >> Okay, where's >> She's over there. >> Okay, was she driving? Was she the one that hit the wall? Okay, so if we talked to somebody else who said that they saw you driving, they're lying to us or what? >> No. >> They're not lying to >> If I were to be driving, I would admit to it. Like if that were my car, that's my car. >> Okay. >> I would I wouldn't lie about it. Like why would >> You're a terrible human. >> I I cannot tell you to be >> Just looking right in his eyes and lying. Are you willing to perform field sobriety exercises for us? >> But how is that fair to me? >> What do you mean >> When those are your friends. >> Why is that fair? >> When all the little sobriety like sobriety partners are your friends. >> Give me 1 second, okay? >> You said >> We do have a witness saying she was driving. >> Yep, we have a witness and on top of that, so she I guess and then took off so it was her car. And then crashed up here. >> I like that she went and got independent evidence. Witnesses. >> I don't like it and then sobriety test type of way. >> Okay, so is that a no? >> I mean in a respectful like test type of way. >> not allowed to say no. If you want to say no, you can say no. >> I I just don't like the way it's being said, if that makes sense. >> Okay, no it doesn't. Again, is that a yes or a no? >> No, I guess from the way it was being asked. >> Okay, we're going to cool. You're under arrest. Do not tense up. >> Tense up. I'm telling you right now you're going to make it worse. Do not tense up. >> For an IV in place of arrest >> So so can I um wait wait wait wait. I'm telling you right now >> I'm not resisting but I'm going >> You're not resisting for a bingo up and down. That's ba ba ba bingo. >> It's worse. >> Ma'am, you need to stop resisting. >> No, I'm calling my attorney because it's worse. >> You're going to get charged >> No, you're not. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop yanking. that. That's not okay. No. No. No. >> I guess you're going to call your daddy. >> No. No. No. No. No. You. No. >> Katie. Katie. Listen. >> No. That's not my name. No. That's That's not my name. >> What is your name? >> No. You don't need to >> Listen. >> No. No. >> Listen for 2 seconds. >> No. >> You're making it worse. >> No. You all are making it worse. I'm calling my daddy. >> They're not making it worse. >> I'm always focused on red flags. So, when someone tells me like, "I'm a good person." I'm always like, "Why do you have to say that?" Like, it throws up a red flag. It's kind of the same as this chick, right? Like, she's like, "I'm not trying to be nasty, but like, that's kind of like someone saying, "I'm not racist, but you know the next thing that comes out of their mouth is racist." Right? Like, that's just I think that's pretty much a foregone conclusion. Same thing with the nasty statement. Like, she's saying she's not trying to be nasty, but then she is a absolute exemplar of being a terrible human. So, I don't know. Yeah, I don't believe her. And also, what 25-year-old girl calls her dad daddy? That's weird. Like, on a weirdness scale, that's a 10 out of 10. I used to have a 25-year-old sister. She's older now, but at one time she was 25. She didn't call her dad daddy. No. She called him dad because that's what normal people do. This girl's got problems. Lots of them. >> Okay. Let's go back to the car. >> I DIDN'T DO NO. NO. NO. What the I didn't do anything. >> Okay, then we're going to walk over to >> Well, you're you're That's yoking the me like I'm >> Cuz you're resisting. I got to hold on to you. Why don't you call >> When have I I have given you my I have given you my name. Nothing out of jack [ __ ] And you've been nothing but mean. You've been >> Everyone's mean. >> GET OFF OF ME. PLEASE, STOP. >> If you put your hands on >> I'm trying TO PLEASE, GET YOUR [ __ ] HANDS OFF OF ME. NO. GET THE GET YOUR [ __ ] hands off of me, please. I have nothing. I have nothing. I have nothing. Please, FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST. OW. OW. PLEASE. I have nothing. God. I HAVE NOTHING. I HAVE NOTHING. PLEASE, for the Christ of me, let me have stuff for the [ __ ] >> Okay. I thought she said for the price of meat. >> OH MY GOD. WHAT IS THIS [ __ ] >> And in you go. I like that off That female officer has absolutely zero ability to deal with that stupidity. I love it. Yeah. She said somewhere over in Satellite Beach. She what? Okay. Yeah. Yeah, I said something like that. But okay. Um did you physically see her driving? >> No. No. Cuz >> No. Cuz I just came to tell you. Okay. Got you. Got you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I got you. Okay. I mean, well, obviously she I She So, she's going to jail um for Yeah. Oh, she's Yeah, absolutely hammered. Yeah. So, she's going to jail for DUI. Uh she hit two of our cars. She Yeah, she battered one of us when we were taking her into custody. So, she's I mean, she's going to jail. Um I don't know if that helps at all or makes you feel any better, but Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean, Yeah. I would one One would think, but we'll keep make >> But people don't think, and that's why we have jobs. >> Yeah. It is what it is, but um but I appreciate you stopping and letting us know what happened, so thank you. >> And I got to read you something, okay? I'm now requesting that you submit to a breath test to determine the alcoholic content of your breath. You're now being advised that you have the right to refuse to submit to a If you refuse to submit to these tests, your license will be suspended for a period of 12 months for the first offense. You understand >> [music] >> what I've explained to you? Will you submit to a breath test? >> I'm going to need to record my answer. >> Just to see what you're drinking. Yeah. Pretty simple. >> Yeah, I'm sure. >> So give me a yes or no. Are you willing to submit to a breath test? >> What? >> To determine how much you've been drinking. >> For you? >> For you. For everyone. Yes, that's [music] Yeah, are you willing to submit to a breath test? Answer yes or no. Anything other than a yes or no, I'm just going to take it as a no. Okay. Okay. >> I'm not. >> Double refusal. >> This officer is reading a version of the admin per se affidavit. It is a form that's in this case issued by the state of Florida. We have one here in the state of Arizona. I believe every state has some version of this form. Um and pretty much what it says is, "Hey, if we are conducting we as law enforcement are conducting an impaired driving investigation, uh we have probable cause for arrest for DUI, you have to provide a chemical sample, whether it be blood or breath." Um here they're offering a breath test. This is different than the preliminary breath test, the PBT, the little portable one that sometimes you'll see people um handheld that will that will be used at the the scene or at the site of a stop. Um those typically are not admissible in court. At least they're not admissible here in Arizona. All it does is it confirms the presence of alcohol in someone's body and then I bring them in to use an instrument that's typically kept in the office or in the jail or in the booking area. And that instrument is admissible in court. It goes through a set of calibration certification checks. It's calibration is checked typically every 30 to 31 days. Records meticulous records are kept on the instruments use, on its function, on making sure that all of the the checks are done properly and all of that documentation is retained for court. So, that is when this officer is saying, "Hey, we want you to submit to a breath test." That's the test that they're talking about. It's not the handheld one. It's the big formal instrument that prints out a sheet and and gives all the information on breath alcohol. >> That's That's something that Oh. It's what she said she was drinking. >> She got a felony. She battered us and we arrested her. >> What? >> Uh she got a felony cuz she put hands on us when we went to arrest her. >> I got video of that too if y'all need it. >> Uh we got it. We should be good. They got body cams. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Oh. Overnight camping. >> Get in. Get in. You need to get up for me. >> Now sleepy time. >> I don't I don't want to have to pull you. >> Sleepy. >> I'm going to have to get out of the car. Come on. Come on. I don't want to I don't want to Hold on. >> There we go. >> I got you. Come on. Good work. Come on. >> After the crash, Aiden was arrested and initially charged with driving under the influence, DUI with property damage, resisting arrest without violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, a third-degree felony, and leaving the scene of a crash causing damage over $50. She was held on a $6,500 bond, which she later posted. During a subsequent court appearance, the prosecutor dismissed the felony battery and DUI charges entirely. Aiden entered a plea of no contest to resisting an officer without violence, leaving the scene of a crash, and a reduced charge of reckless driving involving alcohol. The judge adjudicated her guilty on all three counts. She was sentenced to 6 months of supervised probation running concurrently across all counts, and ordered to complete [music] 50 hours of community service. Her probation conditions required her to complete a 4-hour basic driver improvement school, a level 1 DUI school, and a victim awareness program. She is also subject to random urine analysis and prohibited from possessing or consuming alcohol or illegal drugs. Her total fines, court costs, and fees amounted to $891.50. >> bad. We got a bingo. Card five killed it. So, we got the I'm not resisting as she was actively resisting. And then, for what would she said a whole bunch of times in an attempt to not take responsibility. So, great bingo on this card and this video. Loved it. Another bingo, a bingo for life, is being a subscriber. So, click that. It takes you to our home page. What it'll do is click it. It lets us know how many people are watching. We are getting close to a half million. It's the next threshold that we want to try to get over, and then it's a million. So, we're heading there. We're trying to get there as quick as we can. We just need your help. So, see you on the next one.
