today we're going to look at four different episodes uh they're all kind of short so we're going to look at them it's episodes 13 through 16 so we're to take a look at those individually um and I'll let you know what was going on behind the scenes any idea why I might have stopped you today um no I didn't even see you on the phone um but hey you know I stopped you like on the phone like I didn't even see that like what I did see is a giant fire truck flashing lights as you noticed as it was coming you know that you need to pull parallel to the rightmost curb and remain stock right you didn't these videos get a lot of comments and we don't really care about them um but a comment that we see is that I'm not supposed to be able to ask people why I stopped them I don't know where this came from but that's not true so some random person got some random piece of incorrect information and has now spread it all over the Internet unless you can find me some State case law from somewhere in Arizona that said says that I can't go up to a car and say hey why' I stop you I'm going to keep saying it did you know what there's a giant octagon shape there with a four-letter word that says stop on it just and you did not stop my attention was drawn to your car by your annoyingly loud Muffler and then I realized that your window 10 was illegal so I hate loud mufflers I think everyone hates those like there's there's no reason to have them like there's no reason except to draw attention to the fact you're driving kind of a crappy car that's legal make everyone look at stop messing with me okay and then we'll stop messing with you all right does that does that seem fair all right there we go be a better driver sir have a good day I walk up to that car with that super loud annoying Muffler that everyone hates um apparently except the people that drive the cars and I was a little salty when I I walked up to that car and I wasn't sure if if Sam was going to use it in the videos wasn't sure if the bosses would allow it um I don't know if you know but all of these videos one Frank doesn't make them Sam makes them and two they go all the way up and they get approved approved within the agency before they get put out to the public and um our bosses are awesome and they were like yeah put that out there no one likes those cars from like all the way down to Mountain View all the way up here swerving out of your lane I wasn't texting I was looking but you're right I was on my phone manipulating you were what you were doing was manipulating your wireless communication device I was go right I live on the mountain of right it's where I live I have a condo there I think that's the first time that I said that on uh on camera I've used it for years but you got I think that's the first time that I actually came out of my mouth on video license so you have to worry about your insurance going up all these are are administrative issues between you and the PT okay Port down here is located right on Hunt Highway just a little bit further south here do you have a license oh man I'm still in the blue the blue charger why you driving so you don't have a driver's license no then why are you driving and in running his information in the system find out that 4 years ago he was issued a citation for driving without a driver's license and apparently he didn't get the point across that he needs to have a license if he's going to be driving so per Arizona state law not having ever been issued a driver's license in any jurisdiction uh his car is going to be towed so your car is going to be towed your car going on that and going away okay because you need a license to drive here remember when you were stopped in 2018 and issued a ticket well in four years you should probably figure out a way to get some sort of license so that's a pretty good warning do you know him yeah he's the my boyfriend okay do you know he doesn't have a driver's license yeah but okay then why are you then why are you allowing him to illegally drive your car I don't care but why are you allowing him to illegally operate your motor vehicle no answer for that I'm at 100% telling it we'll see if this has the desired effect of making him comply with the laws of Arizon unbelievable well I'm Deputy slope I work for the panel County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit any idea why I might have stopped you today I have no idea well you are driving down the road texting with both hands and driving with your knees my car was on autopilot um I don't think there's a stipulation in Arizona state law for my car drives itself so I can text while I'm driving I was right I don't know I don't know about that but it just it just doesn't feel right like it feels like there should be some sort of attention being paid while you're driving your missile down the roadway this is the first time I had stopped someone driving a Tesla in their autopilot mode so I actually went to the judge in the jurisdiction where the the stop took place and talk to the judge and the judge agreed with Tesla which is look just because this car has a self-driving mode doesn't mean you can put your head down and ignore everything that's going on so judge says no Tesla says no in the verbiage of Arizona state law says no ultimately behind the scenes I did not write the guy ticket um I thought it was a little bit gray and I don't like writing tickets in the gray area so I gave warning this technology is not infallible um this isn't something I would trust my life to um as I'm barreling down the road at like 60 something feet per second I don't think that's okay I was right maybe the court will think different but I I feel like the way that the law is written you can't put your car on autopilot and just put your head down in your lap and ignore all of the traffic that's going around you everywhere we pulled up the Tesla website um under their support/ autopilot uh the third paragraph down autopilot enhanced autopilot and full self-driving capability are intended for use with a fully attentive driver who has their hands on the wheel and is prepared to take over at any moment while these features are designed to become more capable over time the currently enabled features do not make the vehicle autonomous so even Tesla on their website says look Keep Your Hands on the Wheel look through the windshield and be able to do something should your vehicle not automatically do it um and that doesn't mean you can have both your hands on your cell phone looking down to your lap and I should have written that ticket yeah you were going pretty fast and you got to wear your seat belt man yeah never been pulled over never been pulled over before well you always remember your first time you smoked last night so true no not even last night I been broke I'm sorry I've been broke kind of I just got well that's good cuz if you're broke you shouldn't be spending money on weed yeah it's good like a public service announcement and do you have current proof insurance for this uh I just got it so I'm like still working on my all right hang tight for me this video is the last video uh in the Fridays with Frank series that's less than 3 minutes uh Facebook wants videos that are more than 3 minutes we love Facebook so we're keeping them 3 minutes or longer um they're not real long but longer than 3 minutes at least to make Facebook happy and there's this thing called click it or ticket well you didn't click it so you get a ticket also you don't have any current proof of mandatory insurance and the fact that you don't have insurance makes every other driver on the road all of their insurance is higher because you don't have insurance I'm pretty sure that's [Music] true right in the middle of the road officer good is there a reason we're stopped right in the middle of the road I didn't want to walk the road so this is kind of an turning so I ass that's a terrible idea all right who's playing bumper cars here you're there just 10 and driving down the road and here comes a car and you're like boom yeah the light sun was in my a little bit so I couldn't see his lights all the way so I'm not sure if you realize it but that's South the sun rises here in the East and sets here in the west cloudy day everyone's fine vehicles are replaceable this isn't it's not the last vehicle you're going to have in your life the last little portion of that video is just a regular car crash nothing crazy um Sam wasn't going to put that on the internet cuz it's obviously it's someone having a bad day but that ridiculous excuse came up and we had to put that person on the internet why were you pulling me over you were less than one car length from the bumper of that SUV that was in front of you there was not an SUV in front of me third was a minivan this one okay vehicle that's bigger than your car and you were less than your car length away from the back of it when we were going over the railroad tracks getting into the turn the entire yep all the way up yep got great video of that hello hello Citizen and so what would the ticket be if you're going to get me a ticket I haven't decided if I'm going to give you a ticket yet well I took my test and my son took his driver's license test 2 years ago um I read in the MBD manual that it was one Carly I love that's how it's always been I'm 52 years old and I that's how it's always been working in the car business I mean I I know the rules of Road I'm shocked at how stupid that state statement was and like I couldn't I couldn't do anything but just stand there I sure appreciate the roadside education I've obtained today welcome I don't even understand the conversation that I just had just not a nice human being just a condescending arrogant woman um but I didn't know any of that until I pulled her over so the overwhelming majority of the time I'm conducting a traffic stop I pretty much know if I'm going to write that person I tiet or not um I had pretty much decided it was going to be an educational stop I was not going to make write a a ticket and then she turns into this Karen there on the side of the road but I don't write spite tickets um so ultimately I did not write her a ticket for the tailgating she provided all the other information that that she needed um we left that uh that contact with just just some education Sam wanted me to write her a ticket cuz she's such a Caren um but I said I really don't write spy tickets have any idea why I might have stop you yep cuz I made a stupid turn stupid turn is a great description of that I don't know if you realize as you were heading head on into traffic that the vehicle that you were heading head on with is my partner in an unmarked Dodge Durango yes perfect so and not that I would have stopped you no matter what whether it was just a normal motoring citizen but I happen to have a certain level of affection for my friend oh he showed up I know I'm sorry that's okay what's up dude's going man I love that guy yeah I was like I think that's Fender it was my perspective was uh very quick and this car is not going the right direction I would have turned around and pulled her over done the same thing detective Fender when we work together was Deputy Fender and uh we were be partners when I first came to the agency so he lateral from another agency I lateral and um we ended up being B partners and a guy's got a giant heart um was detective of the year like just guy's just great he's great at what he does um and he's big patch collector U has brought all the patches from all the different years of panal County Al together um guys just great you have any idea how fast we pass each other5 6065 well after 60 65 then there's 7075 then there's 7580 and then there's your speed that was 81 do you have gold teeth okay gold teeth you know you would imagine that if you had enough money to have gold teeth like
