King Adam Victor 4201.
So, are you stopped for your speed? You
got your license on you?
 I'm sorry.
 I
got you stopped for your speed. Do you
have your license on you?
 Um, yeah.
You know how fast you were going?
Yeah, I do.
 How fast were you going?
 I checked 84.
 Okay. though.
Yeah.
All right. You didn't really slow
down. You're still doing 80.
 Yeah, I
know. I I know I shouldn't have been
going that fast. I'm sorry.
 All right.
You got your license, too?
 I do. Yes.
All right.
Where you coming from?
 Um Clifton.
Clipton. Okay.
 You got your registration
over there, too?
 Yeah, I sure.
 I think
you just had it in your hand.
Yeah.
This
 I don't really know which one's
which, to be honest. I don't get pulled
over. Yeah. No, that's where my parents
live.
Okay. Is this where you live now?
Yes.
 Okay. Where is that at?
 That is in
Cincinnati is put in like UC campus.
 Oh,
okay. Where you headed to though?
 I'm
going to my friend's house right now.
Okay.
 Yeah.
 You have your insurance with
you? You can.
That's not it.
Sorry for the hold on.
 It's all right.
Cool.
Blake and Tracy, your parents?
 Yes.
 Was
that back? How much have you had to
drink, Mike?
Um, I did have a couple of
cocktails.
 Okay.
 But
 like two, three.
Two.
Two. All right. I'm going to get
you out and make sure you're okay. It
drives.
 Okay.
 All right. You step on
out.
 Okay.
Just have you go to the driver's side of
my vehicle. Yeah.
Just have you stand by that front tire.
I'm going to turn off these front
lights. Okay.
All right. I'll have you turn out
towards me.
 Put your feet together with
your arms out your sides.
 All right. I'm
going ask you a couple questions. Yeah.
But what I want you to do is follow the
tip of this pen right here with your
eyes and your eyes only. Okay. Do you
have any recent head, neck, or back
injuries?
 Um, I have scoliosis, but
that's it.
Okay. Do you have any issues
with it tonight?
 Nope.
 No. Do you have
any hip, knee, or ankle injuries?
 No.
No. Do you take any prescriptions?
 I do.
I take Adderall.
 Aderall. Okay.
 Aderal,
vitamin D. That's about it.
 When did you
last take your aderall?
 Uh, this
morning.
 This morning. Okay. You just
took it as prescribed, like the uh
correct dosage?
 Yes.
 Um, do you wear
contacts or glasses?
 Nope. Are you
seeing a doctor for anything besides
seat at all and your scolios scoliosis?
No, just my normal checkups.
 Okay. Are
you pregnant at all?
 No.
 Okay. Um,
diabetic or epileptic? Nope.
 All right.
Just follow tip of this pin with your
eyes only. Don't move your head at all.
Okay.
[Applause]
You can blink at it anytime. Okay.
 Okay.
All right.
 That's good to know.
 Yep.
Just nervous.
 It's all right.
[Applause]
144. Okay. If I had you walk line, would
you be able to do that tonight?
 Yeah.
All right. Just have you go to the back
of your vehicle right there?
 Yeah.
And then just face my car. Stand right
here.
[Applause]
Uh just not on the rumble strips or
anything. This piece of corn.
All right. Can you imagine a line going
from here to uh I'm sorry, from here to
my patrol car.
 Yeah, right about to the
plate.
Yeah, you can use the license
plate. Let me get on this side. Um, so
I'm going to get you in a starting
position. I want you to stay in that
position till I tell you to start the
test. Okay,
 I'll explain the test. I'll
demonstrate it and then I'll have you do
it.
But first, put your left foot on
that line. You can do that now. And then
your right foot in front touching heel
toe. Arms not your sides. And just stay
in that position until I tell you to
start. What you're going to do is take
nine hill toe steps down the line.
 Once
you get down the line, you're going to
keep your lead foot on the ground, take
a series of small steps, turn around,
and then take nine hill toe steps back.
The whole time you do it, you'll stay
looking down at your feet. You'll keep
your arms down at your sides. You'll
count your steps out loud. And once you
start circle, do not stop. Going to look
just like so.
We're going to go one, two, three. I
took three steps. You're going to take
nine. Keep this lead foot on the ground.
series of small steps. Turn around and
nine hill toe steps back the other way.
One
 rotating the other way.
 Three. I
took three steps. You'll take nine.
You'll want to turn just like I did. You
want to keep that lead foot on the
ground. Yeah.
 And a series of small
steps. Turn around. Do you understand
everything?
Yeah. So, nine heel toe steps turn like
I did. And then nine heel toe steps
back. Count your steps out loud. Stay
looking down at your feet. Keep your
arms out at your sides. And once you
start, do not stop. Okay. Okay.
 All
right. Do you understand everything now?
I do.
All right. You can go and begin a
test.
One, two, three, four, five, six,
seven, eight.
 First step.
And we turn around this way. Correct.
Yep. And nine steps back the other way.
10
All
right, you can face my car and put your
feet together. Your arms at your sides.
Same thing. Don't start till I tell you
to. What you're going to do is raise
either foot off the ground 6 in. You're
going to keep your legs straight with
your toes pointed out. The whole time
you do it, you're going to count in this
manner. 1,00 1,002
1,003
so on and so forth till I tell you to
stop. Test last 30 seconds. I time it
with my watch. Um, you'll stay looking
down at the foot that you have raised.
You'll keep your arms down at your sides
and you'll count in that manner I just
instructed. Okay? So, it's going to look
just like so. 1,00 1,002
1,003. See how my legs straight, toes
pointed out, arms are down at your
sides. You'll do that the whole time.
Okay.
 Okay.
 You understand the
instructions?
 I do.
 All right. Let me
get my watch ready.
All right. You can go to begin the test.
Okay.
1001 1002 1003 1004 1005 10067
1008 1009
Are you done
just keep going till I tell
you to stop
 supposed to go for 30
seconds
 okay I'm sorry
 Yep
20002002
All right. You go ahead. Stop. All
right. Face your car. Mhm.
 Put your
hands behind your back. You had too much
strength. All right.
As long as you're cooperative, I won't
take you to jail. Okay.
 Okay.
 And you've
been cooperative, so I don't see that
changing. All right.
So, um, you're under arrest for operated
vehicle impaired. Let's turn this way
just so I can keep an eye out on
traffic. Um, I'm going to read you your
rights real quick. Put your palms
together like that. Yep. So, you have
the right to remain silent. Anything you
say can and will be used against you in
court. You have the right to talk to a
lawyer for advice before you ask any
questions. To have a lawyer present with
you during question. If you're unable to
pay for a lawyer, only be appointed to
prior question so desire. Wish you
answer questions now without a lawyer
present. You have the right to stop your
answer at any time. Yes, sir. I have the
right to stop answering any time.
Continue to talk to a lawyer. Do you
understand your rights? All right. So,
this is what's going to happen. You
didn't cooperate with me. So, I'm going
to take you back to the highway patrol
post this next exit from Battavia. I'm
going to read you a forum offering a
breath test. And as long as you can get
a valid sober adult to come pick you up
tonight, you won't go to jail.
 Okay. So,
have you ever been arrested for OBI in
the past?
 I've never been arrested.
Never.
You made a mistake. All right. is
is what it is at this point. Um the
important thing is you are going to get
home safe eventually. Um just you won't
be able to drive.
As far as your car, I
can leave it parked here and somebody
can come pick it up tomorrow.
 Okay.
Unless you own it. Most people don't.
But there's always a risk of it being on
the side of the road.
 Okay.
 But it will
cost you money
to get it out of um the
towyard. Yeah.
Okay. Do you want me to
leave it here?
 Yes, that would be
 okay.
All right. That way I don't have to
totally
I will say the only person I can
call I don't know what their phone
number is and my phone is in the car.
Okay. I'll grab your phone.
 Yeah. Yeah.
So you got a purse or wallet or anything
in there. I'll grab your phone.
 That and
then I'm going to pull your car over to
the grass so it's not so close to the
line.
 Yeah.
And then uh lock it up.
Okay.
Okay. Thank you. No problem. I got
to keep a hold of you. So
 yeah. No,
that's fair. I get it.
 Yep.
Do
you have a roommate or something that
you can call? Okay,
 that's who I'm
calling.
Okay. Is he or she even
drinking at all?
 No.
 No drink.
 Doesn't
drink.
Do you think she'll be awake?
 We can
probably.
She lives in Clifton with you
then?
 She does. Yeah.
 Okay. So, let I'll
let you call her when I grab your phone.
I'll let you just try to call her right
away cuz it is kind of a far drive.
Yeah. Oh, like 35 minutes or so. That
way she can get started. Is she? So,
she'll come for sure, right?
 Yeah, she
will.
I got to check all your pockets. I
do have to check your ball line. There
is a camera right there with the red the
red flashing light. I have a camera on
my body or on my body as well. So,
everything is reported. Okay. Yeah.
 Um,
do you have anything on you that I
should know about?
 I do not.
 No weapons
or anything like that. Okay. Okay.
 I
don't have a weapon.
Just a little pocket through there.
[Music]
the arms back.
Spread the feet apart.
I'll bring the circle split in the bag.
Okay.
 Okay. Yeah.
 That just
 Oh, yeah.
That Yeah, just make it.
 Yeah. Sometimes
can't tell.
 Yeah, that's fair.
 I'm going
to probably leave your money in your
pocket.
Yeah, it's just $2.
 Check it out. That's
all right. $2 is $2, right?
 Yeah.
 Okay.
Sorry, my nose is dripping.
 It's all
right. I have tissues at the post. I
don't have any here.
 Okay.
 I'm going to
check your bra line now. Okay. So, it is
going to be in front of the camera.
 All
right. Um, let's go ahead and put you
in. I'm going to grab your phone, your
keys, your purse, and then pull your car
over and I'll let you make that phone
call to your uh best friend. Okay.
 Thank
you. No problem. Thank you.
The traffic's over here.
Do those cars feel okay? I forgot.
 Yeah.
No, they they feel fine.
I put them on too tight.
 Yeah.
All right. I'll be right back with this
stuff.
 Okay. Thank you.
your passport.
[Music]
It's going to say Zoe King. It has all
the emojis by it.
Speak.
 Yeah.
Let me see.
 Yeah.
Nope. I accidentally did a screenshot or
something.
 Oh, that's okay.
Um,
so wait, can you pick me up in jail?
What?
Um, I have the cop with me right
now. I'm
um, hold on. What's going on?
 I was a
little too drunk and I was driving and I
need you to come pick me up.
 Okay. Uh,
where are you at?
 I can give her the
address.
Can you give her the address?
Uh, Miss King, this is Trooper Byron.
Hi, Trooper.
Hi. So, I'm on the east
side of town. Do you know where Eastgate
is?
Uh, yeah. I actually work over at
Eastgate.
Okay. So, I can send you the
address or when you're ready, I can give
it to you right now.
 Okay. Um, I have my
mask pulled up right now.
 Okay, cool.
So, it's 1 Hospital Drive.
That's in Bavia.
Drive. Betavia. Okay.
 That's 45103.
She's not going to jail. She's going to
the highway patrol post. I All she needs
is a valid sober adult to come pick her
up.
 Okay, I got you.
 All right.
 Um, this
is right next to the Wings Bar and
Grill.
 Yes.
 Okay, gotcha. I have the
location and I'm on my way.
 All right,
thank you.
 Yeah, thanks so much.
 No
problem. Bye-bye.
 All right. Bye-bye.
All right. I'm going to put your bag up
there. We'll get out of here. Okay.
Okay. All right.
Take this off.
You step on out.
Grab your elbow so you don't fall.
No problem. Just have you stand by that
fire extinguisher right there.
Come right in here. Just watch your step
there.
Go straight ahead.
Come and then to your left.
And then right here, this first door
right here.
 Yeah.
Just stay standing for me. I'm going to
take those handcuffs off.
Bring your arms back towards you. Yep.
All right. You can have a seat over
there.
Let me grab some paperwork real quick.
Yeah.
All right. So, I got to read a form to
you. Okay.
All
right. So, I'm going to read this
warrant to you. If you want to follow
along, you can. I'm going to read this
top portion right here down here. So,
this is consequences of test and
refusal.
You're under under arrest for 4511 1981A
operating a vehicle under the influence
of alcohol, a drug, or a combination of
them. You refuse to take any chemical
test require a law, your Ohio privileges
will be suspended immediately. You have
to pay a fee to have privileges
reinstate. If you take chemical test,
you may have an independent chemical
test. Take your expense. So, what that
all means, all right, you've never been
through this before, so you don't have
any prior OGIs. So, you have two
options.
If you refuse a breath test
with no prior OIS, it's automatic
one-year license suspension. Okay? and
you decide to take the breath test, you
test at or over the legal limit with no
priors, it's 3 months, 90 days. So, one
year if you refuse to take it, 90 days,
you test at or over and over.
 You test
under obviously suspension. Okay.
 Um, do
you want to take the broad test today?
Yes.
Okay. So, the machine just warmed
up. Let me explain it to you when you do
it.
What you're going to hear make a lot of
noises. Okay. So, it's going to purge
out any air that's in there out so that
when you blow into it, it's just your
breath. It takes two samples and I don't
know the results until they print out.
Um, the whole thing takes about oh 10
minutes.
 Okay.
When you're blowing into it hard enough,
well, you want to take a big deep breath
and then make a tight seal around the
end of the mouthpiece area. You want to
blow out for about 10 seconds. If you're
blowing hard enough, you're going to
hear a tone. You want to keep that tone
for 10 seconds. Okay.
 Okay.
Ready for your first sample?
 So,
whatever burn as long as you can
whenever you're ready.
That should be good.
Okay.
I didn't know this.
No, I count in my head.
 Okay.
 I only
count out loud when people are like
struggling with it. So, like I have it
out and stuff, but
[Applause]
so process that sample,
pelt that sample, and then we'll last
another 20 minutes.
Just the same thing again.
 Yeah, same
thing again.
 Yeah, it tastes too
We'll
process that and then print out your
results.
And then this is done. I'll let you grab
your phone. That way you can check on
your friend and stuff.
Thank you. No problem.
every day.
It's real wine. Consider a high tier.
It's pretty high. You drink a lot.
 Yeah.
I do have a question about this. How
Yeah. The blood alcohol content. what is
high and what is low.
 So consider the
high tier as far as a large wall is
concerned
17 or higher. Okay. So more than twice
08 legal limit I'll tell you on average
when I arrest people for a gun you get a
point two5
um so you're
not quite
but it's not that it's bad your
tolerance is a lot higher than somebody
else but just that's why
I'll be out here doing the paperwork.
 Is
it okay if I call my friend?
 Yeah, you
call her. You can make phone calls if
you need to.
 Okay.
Um, I have a question. Is it okay if I
step outside? I don't have good service
in here and it's not letting me
 step
outside, but you can maybe try it over
here.
 Okay.
I just outside of the room.
Oh, outside the room.
 Yeah. I just
didn't want to set this table here.
Yeah, you're good.
No problem. You have to be mobile,
right?
Yeah. Do you know when you're Huh?
3 minutes out. Okay.
I just wanted to make sure.
Okay. Thank you. I really appreciate you
coming down here.
Okay.
All right. Bye.
So, just like we talked about, your
court's going to be this Friday, the
22nd at 8:30 in the morning. Personal
clearance is required.
 You're cited for
the speed is what I saw before. And then
this is the OBI. This other one is also
an OVI charge, but it's for having a
high tier. Okay. If you had a lower
tier, there would still be another OVI
charge on. Okay.
 Do you have any
questions on any of that?
Um, so is this is this going to cost a
lot?
 I don't, but I mean it depends
what route you go. I can't give any
advice, but obviously cost a lot, stuff
like that. Um,
but
I don't know how much you
 Okay.
Don't ride to court, obviously.
 No,
absolutely not.
 Friday. Okay.
Yeah, she's here.
Thank you.
All right,
need to walk on out and then just get in
her car. I'm just going to check your
license real quick. There's a staff
right out here, so just be careful.
Okay, thank you.
 No problem.
First of all, are you okay?
You got your license on you?
 I do. Yes.
Okay. So, you're familiar with this side
of town, right?
 I am. Yes. I actually
work over by TQL.
 Oh, okay. So, her car,
she can't drive it. If you can get
somebody else to help pick it up
tomorrow, it is in between Milford
Parkway and the East Gate exit.
 Okay.
Gotcha.
 If you're going towards
Kentucky, I can pull uh drop a pen on
your map if you like.
 Yes, please.
 That
probably be the best.
There you go.
 Okay.
[Music]
my I believe this is where I was like
 it
is
so
it's going to be like right
it's going to be like right there.
 Okay.
Thank you so much.
 No problem.
Custody release receipt. Me release my
custo her over to you. If I can just
have you sign your name right there
where it says name. You don't have to
put your address.
 Gotcha.
 I'm going to
give you a copy of that.
 Did you want to
edit cursive? That's okay.
 Yeah, that's
fine. Yeah. Yeah, just sign. Is it Is
that it?
 Yes. Cool.
 Um, sweet.
Obviously, don't take her to the car.
Um, for sure.
 Just have somebody get it
tomorrow.
All right. Good luck to you.
Okay.
 Thank you.
 Take care. Thanks for
coming.
 Yeah, no problem.
 Thank you.
