All right, internet. I'm Frank Slope. I am a 24-year veteran of a sheriff's office here in Arizona. Today, we're going to be doing some body cam breakdown. California Body Cam is the channel where we found today's video. Uh we've used them before. We liked them, so we came back for another shot. We're going to see how they do. We're going to play Body Cam Bingo while we do it. [cheering] So, this is uh card number one. We sell cards one through five in a pack. You can check that out on our website. And uh let's get to the video and see how we do. Hello. >> Hi. >> What's going on? >> Uh, I'm trying to talk to my husband. >> Okay. Why are you here? >> Hold on. What should I say? >> The truth. >> Second. I don't know what to say. Uh, >> what's going on? Are you all right? >> Okay. Yeah, I'm fine. >> You're fine? >> Yes, sir. >> Um, yes, ma'am. Your car is not fine. >> Um, going home soon. Okay, sounds good. Um, can you just uh she said to talk to you later? >> Who? >> My sister. >> He's like, >> "So, you said you were talking to your husband." >> Okay. Well, we had we had a complaint that somebody was driving on the sidewalk and you're here parked on the sidewalk. >> Me. >> So, yeah. You >> Why don't you go ahead hang up the phone and step out of the car for me? Um, what should I do? >> Um, no, sir. I'm not >> I don't know what to do. >> What's What's going on? >> Are you okay? >> Yeah, sir. I don't know. I'm nervous to talk. >> Well, why are you nervous? >> Why? What's going on? >> One second. >> Yep. What should I say? >> What? >> Can't you just make decisions on your own like an adult? >> Talk to my lawyer. >> Why would you need to talk to your lawyer? >> Let's go. Mentions lawyer. I just want to be safe. >> You just want to be safe. >> One of the greatest benefits of being a law enforcement officer here in central Arizona in the valley of the sun is we don't get a whole lot of rain. Like I would be talking a lot faster if I was standing out in the rain. But this officer is just like cool, calm, and collected. Like he doesn't care that there's water falling from the sky. Um we do things very differently here. Now we very seldom get just light drizzles. like we get torrential monsoon rains, so it's a little bit different. But I I just couldn't believe it was raining during this entire time and they're there just chitchatting and getting wet. I just just not my style. >> Okay. I'm talking Yeah. I don't know. Okay. Um I'm talking to my brother right now. He's a lawyer. He said just wait. >> Okay. How much have you had to drink today? >> Nothing. So, so far it's husband, sister, and brother. >> Okay. What did I say? >> What's going on? >> It's so crazy. >> Where are you headed to? I don't know. Let's start. >> What's What's your name, Miss? >> I I I don't talk to cops anymore. I had really bad experiences >> with you guys last time I talked to you guys. >> I don't know. Are >> you crying? >> Okay. >> So, my >> We're kind of We're kind of in the situation where we have to talk. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Mhm. >> It's a good >> It's a good way of putting that. >> I'm just calling you miss and ma'am the whole time. >> Can I talk to my lawyer real quick? >> Can you just step out of the car for me? >> Yeah. Talk to my lawyer. I'm going to talk to my lawyer. >> Okay. Right now, you're being detained. Step out of the car. >> Wait, wait, wait, wait. >> Step out of the car. >> Why? >> Because I want to talk to you outside the car. >> Spring cleaning season is here and most people forget the most important place to start is your pantry. With most chips having 40 ingredients like seed oils and artificial flavors and mystery chemicals, Masa chips contain just three. Organic Niximalized corn, sea salt, 100% grass-fed beef tallow. That's it. Just real food the way it used to be. These chips don't only avoid all the bad stuff, they taste incredible, too. That's the reason that both Sprouts Farmers Market and Wegman's picked them up nationwide. This is the real deal. With Masa, you feel satisfied and energetic with no crash or bloat. You're not going to find yourself uncontrollably binging and still feeling hungry afterwards. Personally, my favorite flavor is these Cabanero chips. They're the best nacho chip you'll ever eat. You ready to give Masa a try? Go to masachips.com/frank and use code frank for 25% off your first order. Or simply click the link in the video description or you can scan the QR code to claim this delicious offer. >> But I have done nothing wrong. >> Well, how did you end up here? You see where the street is? Right. >> I've done nothing. >> Do you see where the street is, miss? >> Oh, she's on the sidewalk. Sidewalk. >> Do you see where the street is? >> Yes. >> Okay. How did you end up up here on the sidewalk? I have done nothing, sir. I don't know. I don't actually I'm going to wait cuz last time I talked to the cops, I got in trouble. I'm going to talk to my lawyer. >> So, I don't know how old this girl is, but she looks pretty young. So, if you're a normal person and you are youthful in age, you probably shouldn't have had multiple run-ins with law enforcement. And then to compound that with multiple negative contacts with law enforcement, that means that you're the problem, right? The problem is you. Kind of like in this scenario where the problem is once again her. So, I don't know. But when she says she's got a lot of bad contacts with cops and she's in her 20s, I know where the problem is. >> Okay. Well, you're you're talking with us right now. So, >> can I talk >> Can you just step you step out of the car? I'm not. >> Okay. Can you just turn it off for me then? >> Then can I talk to my lawyer? >> Can you turn the car off for me? >> Maybe. >> Babe, >> now your lawyer, sister, husband, brother is babe. >> I'm trying to Christian told me not to let cops. >> What is going on? >> I I have I have no idea what's going on right now. six. Could you pull up a little closer, please? >> Oh my god. I don't know. I need to call Christian because I'm able Yeah. You told me not to talk to you. I don't I don't know. I talked to Christian and I'm going to get detained now. >> Yeah. Step out of the car for me, please. >> Oh my god. >> Where's my Oh, Christian. Okay. Um, I don't I don't understand the situation. Can I >> You're parked on the sidewalk. >> I'm going to call my brother. >> You're talking to us. Step out of the car, please. >> I don't know, actually, cuz I don't trust I don't know the situation. I'm going to call my brother. I'm going to call my lawyer. >> So, she is so hyperfocused on I want to talk to a lawyer. If there was a lawyer sitting in the passenger seat of her car, a barcertified lawyer, it wouldn't change one bit of how this investigation would go. So, I don't know what people think about calling a lawyer is going to do, but it doesn't stop us from conducting an investigation. And if her lawyer was there, the same exact thing would happen. She'd still be placed under arrest. She'd still be booked into jail and processed for DUI. That's just what's going to happen. And so the fact that she's like she's so hyperfocused on it is just simply a byproduct of being impaired and having that alcohol intoxication where she's just very cyclical in her what she's thinking and once she got it in her head she just kept wanting it. But it lawyer or not this investigation is going to end up in the same place which is her in cuffs. >> Here's the situation. >> I know I don't I don't know you guys. >> Here's I know and I don't know you. So here's the situation. So, we got a call because somebody was driving on the sidewalk. You're here parked on the sidewalk in front of somebody's house. Okay. You I need you to step out of the car. >> What do I do? >> You hang up the phone. You step out of the car. >> I'm calling I I don't >> Can you turn the car off for me? >> I'm calling my I I don't I don't know what to do. I'm calling my >> Miss Can you turn off the car? >> Please turn off the car. Can you turn off the car? What do you say? >> Okay. Step out of the car for me. [snorts] >> Can I get a second, please? I don't know. I don't honestly I don't know my legal rights. What is my right? >> We'll get out of seconds here. >> How? I don't I never got I mean I never got spoken anything. You never told me my rights. I don't know what's going on. I'm trying to talk to my brother right now who's a lawyer. >> 203. Miss, step out of the car. >> I think she says she mentions her rights. Could I get another car, please? No emergency. >> Yeah, it's kind of different than I don't know. >> I'm just going to go. >> Miss, you're going to have to step out of the car. >> I will. >> Okay. >> I just I just want to talk to my lawyer before >> I get involved. >> How much How much have you had to drink today? >> I'm not talking to you, sir. >> Okay. All right. So during the course of this, she said she's on the phone with her sister, wanting to call her husband, brother's a lawyer, but wants to call a lawyer. There's all these people that she could call. The person that she really needed to call was Uber. That's the only call that would absolutely have gotten her out of trouble today. And she needed to make that call before she parked her car on the literally parked on the sidewalk. So, I I mean, if she's looking for a lifeline, the decision to make that phone call should have happened before she drove down the sidewalk. So, prior planning would have helped. Pull her out of the car. Like, it's the time to be nice is quickly coming to a close. >> Come on. Step out of the car so we can we can have a conversation. >> Can I actually call my lawyer first or is this not allowed? Like, I don't know why. No, right now. >> Actually, I'm calling my lawyer. >> Well, right now you're interfering with our investigation. >> Am I? >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> Because my my brother's a lawyer and >> Okay. And I'm a police officer. So, if you could please step out of the car. >> I definitely like this officer. >> Honestly, actually, I'd rather just not talk to you guys until I talk to a cop. >> We are talking. We are the cops. >> I don't want to talk to you guys. >> Okay. Step step out of the car. >> Are you pulling? >> Yes, I am pulling. >> Step out of the car. >> You have to undo a seat belt. >> Oh my god. What the is out? >> Step out of the car. Get out of my car. >> Get out of the car. >> Are you serious? >> Step out of the car. >> Get out of the car. Get out of the car. >> Oh my god. >> Get out of the car. >> Right now, you're under arrest for OVI. Step out of the car. What the? Put your eyes behind your back. Ow. What the >> That needed to happen. This chick, she first of all, she can't make a decision for herself cuz she's asking whoever's on the other end of the phone. Um, and she's so focused on that phone that it's impairing the ability of the officers to conduct a good investigation because all she wants to do is call everyone. Um, so absolutely I love the fact that finally this officer is like, "Give me that phone. Like we're done here." Because at some point she would have sat there for an hour and just called different people if if they would have let her. So I really like that the officer took charge, snatched that phone out of her hand, said, "Hey, we're done." Um, I'm certainly asked her several times about alcohol. I'm sure he could smell the odor of alcohol coming out of the the vehicle. Um, so I'm I'm pretty sure along with the fact that she was parked on the sidewalk, I'm pretty sure he knew where this investigation was going. And um, I like that he finally just stepped on the pedal and got there. >> Oh my god, that's >> okay. You're under arrest for operating a vehicle intoxicated. Okay. >> Can I call my >> No. >> Lawyer, please. >> No. When you go to jail, you can call him. We're going to roll you to the side and step you up. Sit up. >> You know she's really on the sidewalk cuz they pulled her out of her car and she landed on the grass. >> My brother, >> do you have anything in your pockets? [snorts] >> No, sir. >> No. Do you need clothes? >> I have some hair. >> What's your name? >> Hey. >> What's your name, miss? Honestly, I I'm not going to talk to you guys. Do you have an ID on you? >> I would rather talk to >> I'm going to talk to my lawyer. Okay. >> Well, right now you have to identify yourself. >> You're going to get another charge for failure to identify. >> So, one of the interesting things about Miranda is yes, it says that you have the right to remain silent and anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. But what Miranda doesn't cover is identifying yourself. That is not information that you can withhold from law enforcement during the course of an investigation like this. This is a criminal investigation. Driving under the influence is a criminal act. You have to identify yourself. You can't not. So again, because she's impaired or she's dumb, one of the two. Maybe a mixture of both. Um, she doesn't understand that she doesn't have to say anything that may incriminate herself. That's correct. But she does have to provide at least a name and date of birth that allows law enforcement to confirm who she is. So, I think she's a little bit confused. >> Do you have an ID on you? >> Ma'am, I actually don't know. I don't trust you guys. Actually, >> a crime has been committed. So, you have to you have to identify yourself. >> I committed a crime. >> Yeah. Do you see this car? You see this car right here? Where are Where's your car? >> It's on the sidewalk. >> Is this your Is this your car or is this somebody else's? >> I'm not going to talk to you. >> Okay, sure. True. Let's just just put her in the back of the car. >> Come here. Turn around. I'm going have you lean up against this car over here. >> Do you have anything that's going to prick or poke me? 203. >> 203. >> Can I talk to my lawyer, please? Go ahead. Okay, once I confirm who this female is, I'm going to have her herbi in an open container. >> No, an open container. I like that. Even better. >> Have a seat. >> Can I call my husband like >> when we get to jail? >> Have a seat. >> Yep. Is there anything out of the car that you're going to need, >> miss? >> Me? >> Huh? >> Seriously? >> Like phone, wallet, anything else? >> I don't care, honestly. Like, what's your name? What's your badge number? >> Oh, I'll take that name and badge number. >> Thank you. >> You 29. >> Do you need anything else out of your car? >> Honestly, like I I honestly >> My lawyer, you guys had no evidence. I don't >> All right. >> 203. >> Fine. >> If you could start a tow for this, please. >> Yeah. >> That thing needs to be towed. I'll take a picture of it. >> It's in a plastic. [clears throat] [snorts] >> Tears of regret. They're there. You [ __ ] [snorts] >> Yeah, that looks like vodka drunk. Do I have Hey. Hi. Do I get to talk to my husband? >> No. >> Oh my god. What the [ __ ] >> Bet he's proud to have you as his wife. >> Oh my god. You cop. Hey, where were you guys for anything? I >> It's the cop's fault, definitely. >> Hey, where was I? >> You [ __ ] [screaming] >> I don't think it's the cop's fault. >> Guess what the happened. Guess what? I was Youshole. You dead. Yeah, you won't. Youshole. What is it like to you? >> I got you. >> God. You guys. Seriously, I was and you guys me over. You Cleveland cops. You guys. I was literally going home. [ __ ] you guys. >> Sounds very Ohio. >> The subtitle should just say >> cursing in Ohio. That's it. Please open up. Can I tell you? >> Yeah, they want to talk to you. >> What the? That's so up. >> I don't know. What's the name? >> Oh my. >> Yeah, we got a picture of that one already. >> Yeah, we got a picture of that. >> I need these. Oh, there's beers there, too. >> They're all empty. >> Okay, you put that window down just a little more. Okay, >> she's putting the window down. Hold on. >> I'm sorry. I don't trust you guys. >> Okay, Miss M, >> do I at least have the correct person? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Before I ask you any questions, you must understand your rights. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to an attorney >> for advice before we ask you any questions and to have him or her with you during questioning. >> If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you before any questioning if you wish. If you decide to answer questions now, let me just get through this. If you decide to answer your questions now without an [clears throat] attorney present, you will have the right to stop answering at any time. You also have the right to stop answering any time until you talk to an attorney. Further, you have the right to have an attorney present with you during any questioning. Do you understand your rights as they've been read to you? >> No, sir. >> Yes. >> Can I have my Can I talk to my husband? >> Yeah. When we get to jail. >> Thank you. I have a question. >> Yep. >> Hey, when I was 18 years old. >> Do you want Do you want to >> No, I want to talk to you. >> Hold on. Do you want to answer any questions right now? >> Yeah. Actually, I'm like really concerned because like my experience with the cops is horrible. I've called you guys multiple times, >> okay? >> And I'm actually really pissed off because this is so unfair. I have done nothing wrong. Like, it's not fair. >> I don't know about that. >> I parked on the sidewalk because the cops already told me I didn't >> I didn't They have like choke marks and I don't even know. >> What are you talking about? No, just now trying to get my life together after 18 years. >> Okay. Well, unfortunately, you we're in the situation we are right now. >> Okay. And this has to do with you driving and being intoxicated. Okay. So, I have a I have a series of questions. They're standard questions we ask. Do you want to [snorts] answer any of those questions right now? >> No, sir. I'll probably talk to my >> No. Okay. >> Can I talk? >> She'll be on the lawyer. >> Cool. It's a yes or no question. Do you Do you want to >> No, sir. I'll just I would actually like to look at my lawyer. Okay. >> A couple lawyers in this family. >> Can I leave now or like what? It's been 20 minutes. >> Can I talk to my lawyer? >> Not yet. >> Not yet. >> Stupid. >> Yeah. >> Cuz you're in a car. Like >> you're Could you imagine your sister or your daughter getting in the >> dude? That's your karma. I pray to God. >> Wow. >> You get what you give. Honestly, it's not my problem. Just imagine if your daughter ever got just think about this moment like if I didn't do that and she got >> Wow, you're crazy. You are not a normal functioning human. >> You guys, >> you know, right? And you guys did nothing. >> Well, you're also intoxicated, so >> yeah, I'm sure. >> Kids are walking home from school. >> Oh, yeah, for sure. Okay. So, let's step up here towards this female and the other one. Okay. >> Operating vehicle impaired. Driving on the sidewalk. Yes. >> Yeah. Come towards me. >> Step in there. >> Come on, Tina. I'm sorry. Right here. >> Love it. All right. Body cam bingo card number one. We almost had it across the bottom. All I needed was a for what, but I think she knew for what, so she didn't ask.
