hey trendys trendsetters and trendy tribes I got an interesting but common question in my um comment section under the video I did on stormy and I feel it does deserve an answer from me now if I get the same question I might just have to link to the video I'm creating now because I don't think my answer would change from what I'm about to say okay I had to find the comment okay the comment says curious do black folks go this hard against other businesses that are now black owned or do you just keep it moving and take the L so many videos of black on black hate towards black owned businesses disgusting it's a throwing up emoji well um just like I don't believe in black on black crime because nobody calls it white on white crime they just call it crime I can only say for myself where I'm coming from so I'll just explain from that and people will have to just you know justify their own actions I can't justify other people's actions so the first question do black folks go this hard against other businesses in general yeah black folks do go this hard on other businesses that are not black owned and there's some that you do keep it moving and take the L because it's a systemic issue and you can't fight all the battles you'll never stop fighting so you kind of focus on certain things and you have to kind of keep it moving on others it's just like how when someone chooses a cause to fight for so for instance fighting for the awareness of you know a cure for cancer or Autism or you know just things like that people have about you know three or four things they probably focus on and then they depend on others to fight the battles on the other things because you know you have to kind of focus your energy so in that sense yeah people do go hard on other businesses and they choose to take the L on certain things for me I like I do like the area of all businesses like I do like to talk about certain scams and stuff I've been talking to some of my subscribers about helping me do like a little panel of different scams and stuff but my channel was started because I followed certain content creatives and they inspired me and one of the largest topics was Love and Marriage Huntsville so a lot of my videos just focus on the cast of Love and Marriage Huntsville the cast of marriage Huntsville is black so when I'm either praising or criticizing I am automatically in a category of praising or criticizing a black person that does not mean that I do not try to hold other races accountable for businesses that they uh conduct in an unethical or allegedly illegal way it's just my focus is literally over here because it was an interest from an entertainment standpoint first um so that's who's on my timeline it's in my algorithm so my focus is kind of going to be what I've already been you know ingesting the most um I do have to go search and find things that wouldn't normally be fed to me my algorithm but this is where this question kind of gets me because it actually to me sounds like Wanda's logic too when she got on that live and she was fussing about um it was after the videos came out about Marcel and Tisha and The Barbers right and Wanda's like y'all don't do this to other people and all this other stuff you know y'all let them you y'all let you know other people scan and all this other stuff you know I'm saying scan facetiously because Wanda says scan instead of scam but basically I'm like hold on now so you're saying we should just turn a blind eye knowing that these people are scamming the community allegedly scamming the community but I I don't like this logic because okay so I am a black woman so I know Black Culture more intimately I know black struggles more intimately because that's the lived experience that I come from right so the people I'm covering are black people and a lot of them like to say you know they came out the mud they they turned something from a struggle to a success that's what they say right so that means that they also grew up around an environment of other struggling black people why then if you know the plight of black people do you then turn around and take advantage of your same Community because you know it more intimately than someone else that is not black or didn't grow up in your environment so you to me are even more consciously choosing to take advantage of people that look like you had your same circumstances or worse and you know the uh the overall system is already against them and you turn a Blind Eye in deaf ear to that and say well I'm still going to get my piece of the pie in a dishonest way that's that's to the people that I'm saying do take advantage of the community therefore I also like to praise black people that are not doing that to the black community because I think that it is wonderful to see black businesses Thrive and you know and I'm asking for the bare minimum I'm not even looking into how things are sourced you know what I mean I'm just saying if the people order something and give you their money and you know most of us are going to be on a budget you know it's the bare minimum expectation you know what I mean they're paying the price you you said it's not you know I mean these are the I'm not talking about people that comp that don't complain about um a price outside the black community uh being really high but then they go and complain to a black business about why is that price so high I'm talking about people that just they handed over their money and all they had was the expectation to get their products in the manner in the timely manner that you stated they would get it or service in the sense of construction service and everything else and they're not getting what they already paid for they they did give their money they're not getting what they paid for but you came out the same mud that these other black people came out of that's why I don't understand and because that's what I'm intimately familiar with that's more likely what I'm going to cover again Sheen is not black owned and we did a two to three hour I believe two to three hour coverage on the sheen case so yeah I definitely want to cover and we'll cover businesses outside of the black owned businesses so I hope that answers the question but again I don't understand the logic sometimes of that type of question because to me I would expect someone whatever ethnic ethnic group they come from to try to take more care of that ethnic group and not take advantage of them and if they do then I expect them to be held accountable within their ethnic group and then if you know breaks out of that other people will hold them accountable as well but just on a day-to-day basis more commonly you're going to talk about what you actually have more knowledge of and I live with black experience so that's more likely what I'm going to speak about so yeah I hope that answers the question and I know I can't satisfy everybody with that answer but yeah I just want them to give people the products or service they paid for in the expectation that they set as their business that they would deliver in with reasonable accommodation towards some things happen out of your control I'm looking at a pattern that's what I usually am criticizing as a pattern and yeah I'm just taking note because I don't want to see anybody else giving their money to someone that doesn't seem to care about what has happened and is still going on and only cares about the present and uh doesn't seem to have learned from their business practices and so it seems like it's going to be a continuing cycle yeah and then again it's just my personal interest and I'm sure as soon as I if I type in a search on YouTuber Google of course we'll find people criticizing uh businesses that are not black owned and it'll be a criticism from black people black people will also obviously criticize non-black owned businesses as well so you may have to block me or unsubscribe for me if this makes you uncomfortable to see me criticizing black people that own businesses that are to me not acting in an ethical manner at minimum towards their black community so yeah that that's me and I knew when I started picking up this subject that I would probably get those questions so I'm going to answer this one then I'll probably just have to drop the link after this time I'm not sure but yeah y'all let me know what y'all think um about that where I'm trying to come from it's really hard sometimes to explain what's in your mind and then make it go through you know translate to try to get as many people as you can to understand where you're trying to come from and your intention um yeah but that's that's where it is and of course my channel overall is a it's an entertainment gossipy Channel it is I have to acknowledge that's what it is and then thankfully I've had a group of women that have allowed me to expand beyond that space A lot of times and um talk about issues that are way more serious uh but yeah I just wanted to say that because it honestly is a common question that's going to come up it is so I was like my brain's kind of it's kind of uh firing on all cylinders today let's go ahead and kind of talk about it and okay y'all for real for real I'm done now let me know what y'all think talk to you later bye [Music]
