He's already made a call on me and you've already sent me to jail and I've already bailed out and proved that what he has to say is not true. You have to have some. Afterward, the cops spoke with the man who presented his side of the story. Your side of the story. What happened? I was laying in bed. I've been there for most of the day. We had been arguing for a while. She ended up waking me up in my face, threatening me. Like what? What? What? Like what is she saying? Like threatening you. How? I have TB. I can't do it verbatim. She was just telling pretty much um good luck. I'm sleeping peacefully tonight. I'm going to get you all the blah blah blah blah blah. Wasn't like uh threats to harm. It was like open-ended stuff. Okay. So then what happened? I ended up going to smoke a cigarette after she got done talking. She kind of follow she did follow me to the backyard and that's when she punched me in the face twice. I ended up taking her once to get her away from me. Is that after she punched you? Of course. Okay. But that gave me the chance to go ahead and call the police. I think your partner mentioned you're both part of the military. You still at the duty or No, sir. I did about 10 years and uh finally be discharged. Nice. So Army, Marines, Navy, Army. Nice. Did you serve? Huh? Did you serve? No. No. Uh law enforcement is serving. So, but usually this be considered domestic violence. So, state of Florida has zero tolerance for it. Um, usually what the courts will do to protect you is write up a no contact order. She's not be with you. She can't come to the house. can text you, call you, tell a friend, say, "Hey, go tell them I said hi." Um, come talk to me in person and stuff like that. They amended it and changed it to no violent contact and you all be there. She just can't put her hands on you. So, she Yeah. So, that's that's not good. It's no point. She said some threats to you. Yes. What sort of threats were they? Um, I helped you um pretty much try to get me in my sleep tonight. Did she say what she was going to do? No. No. She say, "Oh, I hope you sleep well. You're for it. This whole thing you did what?" The police decided to arrest the girlfriend based on her boyfriend's account and the marks on him. Despite her denial, she pleaded with the officers, asking them to reconsider. No wonder the whole way, please. Which side? [Applause] So this is obviously toxic situation that you guys are in. This is the second time. Jason, please. You're booking me into jail. Are you putting me into booking? That is Oh my god. Jason, they're sending me to jail. I hope he knows. Did you tell him? cuz I I've been with you this whole time. But I won't be able to get out again because I'm already out on Wait, can I ask a question before you ask what you're trying to say? Please, you can have This is important cuz you'll shut the door on me. Go ahead and sit down. We're still listening. Sit down. Please. Please. What is your question? I'm I'm out on bond and I I haven't broken that bond. I won't get another one because I'm currently on one in the same situation trusting the same person. If you send me to jail, I won't be able to get out of jail. See what the judge says at first. Please, I haven't touched him. Is he going to get arrested for hurting me? Go ahead. Get him. Will you let me know? Let you know what if he's going to be in trouble for hurting me. You're not going to resp tell me. He's not going to be he's not going to jail. Not tonight. But I haven't done anything. He has. What is the And so, like I said, he's got marks on him. Okay. So, we have to go with what we believe to be true. That doesn't listen. Stop. Stop for one second. Just let me say something. So, we weren't here, right? So, we have to have a picture painted for us to know what was going on. His p on his picture was a lot more clear than yours. And he's got marks on him. So, we're going to make an arrest today for you. Okay. And then when things get a little bit more clear and you've got a better tomorrow for nothing, you can talk to the judge tomorrow and tell her for him. At your first appearance, they tell you you don't get to say anything. I at my previous first appearance, I didn't even get one word in. Okay. I have not even spoken to the judge on the first time yet. I just have a criminal attorney. But they give you a lawyer, right? So he can kick me in the chest and kick the air out of me and you're only going to arrest him. So okay, you had to have been very close to him on the edge of the bed to try to talk with him. Yeah. And you're not going to arrest him for We're not arresting him tonight. Okay. But we will do more research on it. Okay. I promise you that. All right. But I didn't hurt him. and he knocked the window at me twice. Why is it been to jail? I don't He has actual scratches on him. So, we have to figure out what happened. But like I said, we were not here. So, we have to go by what picture is painted for us. And his seems to make more sense tonight. Okay. It's not the case. Can you reconsider the charges? Sir, did you reconsider the charges? Because I haven't done anything. Would you let me just go somewhere else? No. Can I not just stay somebody else's house if I haven't hurt anybody? On what grounds do I have to stay in a cage or in booking for if I'm not hurting or touching anybody? Can you tell me? It just doesn't matter to you. I was right there. She was out here hitting screaming. Okay. What was the argument about? Here, be he called out of work and tried to blame it on me and he trying to say, "Oh, you made me call out of work and try to call me out his name and came over here and destroyed my car." Simple. Okay. Did it get physical at all? Do you have any injuries? I'm fine. Did he hurt you? Did he touch you or anything? Just the car. Just the car. Okay. Um, I touched him. Where did you touch him at? He pushed me. I pushed him back. So, he did touch you. Well, yeah, you can push. Yeah. Okay. Right there. He made physical contact with Did he push you down or No, he was stepping on He was right here. All his footprints. He was on top of my car jumping off my windshield. I told him to get off of my car. He pulled up, called me, asked for his stuff. Stop. Right here. He pulled up, called, asked for his stuff. I gave him his stuff, went back in the house, and came back outside and saw he was destroying my car. Okay. The mother and girlfriend further recounted how Eugene had been jumping on top of her car, breaking windows and stomping on the windshield, causing even more damage, trying to get all the details, you know. Um, so he's jumping on the car and then at what point does he get off the car? He um when he left and he ran into my car over here. Holy. He ran into your car thing right here. See my little thing with his vehicle? Yeah. Okay. Well, I'm not a liar. She was mad. He had his car right there on and she got out. She got in the car and put it in gear and jumped out of it. And I ran out of the car, but he came this way. All right, repeat that one more time for me. I'm sorry. Okay, so she did jump in his car after he was beating her car up. She got in his car, not put it in drive and got out. And I hit it, tried to catch the car, but of course I mean it was just it was right here. So it was really fast. And I was telling her, I said, "You know, that was not right. You did not supposed to do that." I understand you are totally angry. So from her putting in a drive, it came over here and scraped your vehicle. Okay. Here and he hit his too. Whose vehicle is this? My husband's okay. It's got a new tag. Okay. Gray Charger. I don't need it back. Just add it to the call, please. What's up? Um duck on her just for getting in the car and putting in a drive. That's the whole reason these vehicles were involved. Did you see any of this happen? Yes, sir. All right. What What did you see happening? I came out. I heard I heard Good to go off. Okay. I heard him. I appreciate you. How you doing? Good. How are you? What's your name? Cortez. And you are just a regular officer, too. You supervis. So, I'm an officer. He's day shift. I'm night shift. I'm taking a report. Hi. Okay. Let's go. He's going to take care of you. He's a good officer. I get it now. I just I just asked. So, okay. So apparently her and her boyfriend had some type of issue today and he telling her he want his stuff back. Call her out her name this that and the third. So she put his stuff her stuff that he got her like for birthday and stuff like that on the thing. He do this every time he get upset he want his stuff back. Okay. So I heard all I heard was her yelling get off of my car. And um I heard boom. Well, you know, like if somebody like kicking real hard, like he had to do it a few times. He just didn't bust him like, you know what I'm saying? But it was like a couple of boom boom. And I heard then and I came out the door. He was on this window. He jumped on top of the car, back of the car, bust that window. He kicked those windows out and then he stomped this top window a few times. And in the mean and since wasn't too much she would do she could do. Mhm. She was upset. You wanted to get some some I guess how would you say mess up mine? mess up yours. What do you mean? So she she put his car in. He was over there kicking her window. She got in his car and smashed it out and put it in drive and it ended up hitting my car. But he's driving his car. So, what kind of car does he drive? He got a Nissan. Hey, you can you get her to get off the phone so she come talk to me cuz I need to talk to her. Here, come on. You got to be respectful and talk to the police, baby. Try the phone again. The girlfriend's frustration with Eugene's behavior was evident, driving her to act out in retaliation and press charges against him. What happened? So, he called out of work earlier. Mhm. Which I told him not to do, but he insisted on call out of work for children. But just yesterday, he stayed over here with me. So I was like, "Okay, my mom might not be comfortable with you staying over here the whole day since you stayed over here the whole day yesterday." He felt some type of way like, "Oh, made me call out of work. This and that and the third. I'm going to show you I'm not nothing to play with." So he pull up or whatever. He pull up. He call me about to bring me my stuff. Bring me everything I bought you. Okay, cool. That ain't nothing to you. So I give him I know you upset. So, I give him my stuff or everything that he bought and next thing you know, I come back out here and he's smashing all of my stuff. So, I come over here and I'm like, "Bro, you need to get off my stuff." Like, "Get off of my stuff." I'm sorry. Can you repeat that? What? Repeat where? Uh, hey, I got people yelling in my ear. I'm saying what you want me to repeat. How far back? All right. Just like the whole thing. No, not the whole thing. To where he's pulling up in here. He pulling up. He pulled up. He called my phone and he told me to bring all his stuff. Pretty much what he bought me. So bring me bring him what he bought me. I'm like, "All right, cool." I grabbed he brought me a little vase, a little some shoes, all that stuff. May 1124, no need. I take him the vase and the shoes that he had bought me. So he come back up here my house or whatever. But he had already made threats on crashing my car. What did he say? That he was going to destroy my stuff. Mhm. Well, I have the messages. I have everything. He said he was going to destroy my stuff saying all that stuff. But he done made threats before, which he never actually did. Right. He done made threats before, which he never actually did. So I never I didn't know how capable of, you know, I never thought he was capable of. But I come out here and he's literally smashing all my stuff. There's a football right there. He threw that through my window. Right there in the yard. That foot well, whatever it is, it look like a football. A flat football. He threw that through my window. He threw it after it was broken. No, he threw it in there and broke it. He jumped on my stuff. He jumped through my He was a ninja or something. Mhm. I swear to God, what's his name? He came and jumped through my stuff like that. He Okay. While While he was doing that, what happened? I was telling him to get out my stuff. I was yelling at him. I was like, "Bro, get out my stuff." like, "What are you doing? What is wrong with you?" Yeah. He just still doing it, doing it, doing it. His name is Eugene. And then what happened after a while? He was Well, what were you doing besides yelling at him to stop? What? What did you do when he was doing all of that? I was trying to smash his car, but I didn't. So, no damage to his car. All I did was put his car in drive and let it hit the other car cuz I was mad. All my all my stuff is destroyed. Nothing's wrong with his car. So, did did you do that while he was breaking your stuff or after he was broke? Well, he was breaking my stuff. Okay. No, he did not do it. All right. Uh, what kind of car does he drive? A Nissan Ultima. I don't know what is. Do you know what color? Black. Since Eugene mentioned having bullets in his car, the cops grew concerned and returned to the property to verify his statement. Afterward, they prepared to take him to the station for his offenses. How did it get over here? He picked it up and he threw it through the window. Is it like hard? That is a rock. That's hard. throw that thing and it came out the other side, too. Oh, yeah. Ooh. Wow. And what's funny, this my I mean, shoot. It's my car. But what did What did Do you know if he has any weapons? No, I don't. Not that I know of. I know he has bullets in his trunk. So, you didn't think it was important there was medication in there to leave it with the front desk considering somebody would have noticed their bag was missing. I guess I wasn't even stand up. Hands behind your bag. You're under arrest for theft. Based on my evidence, you had the opportunity to leave this bag at the counter with hotel employees. But the important stuff and the medical stuff. Yeah. We have all that back. She said she was going to give it back. She had every opportunity to turn it into the front desk. She took it to her room and emptied the bag. That's that's all I need all day long. So, I just wanted to confirm with you guys you do want to press charges. So, she's going to jail. No. I just want to make sure because if you, like I said, if you get up there and you have anything on you, it's an additional charge. They're going to have a female officer that's going to search you. Absolutely. Okay. Jessica was charged with theft. While Jessica got caught for stealing a child's medicine and food, the next suspect decided to raise the stakes by causing chaos in a store, boldly asking customers and employees for money. I'm an adult outside smoking a cigarette and you want to harass me? No, I'm harassing you because they told me that you were over there trespassing. Well, I don't care what they're talking about. I don't know that they're and that's fine with me. Well, then you can go deal with them, not I'm talking to them. I am not the one that called. Well, I don't know how that's happening. On February 1st, 2023, police were called to a disturbance in Athens where a woman was asking customers and employees for money, becoming aggressive when refused. Police engaged with the store employees to learn about the woman's actions. As the cops spoke with her, she became erratic and denied everything she had done. And she was doing her own counseling. She's also been screaming at people. She has been asking for pins and obviously she's smoking cigarette cigarettes. So I think she has a lighter, but um people have given her pens. So just be aware of that. Would you want to be bar? Would you want her to be bar for the property? Yes. For how long? Maximum 2 years. Let's do that then. Let's do that. Okay. Let's see where she went to. Where she at? I know, right? She ain't burgy. I know who she is. She has no shoes on, so you can't get from the car. She's famili I'm familiar with her. Thank you. Yep. [Music] Where did she go? I think so. Yeah. Shannon, come here. Yes, darling. Not wearing shoes. I know you're not wearing shoes. Just quit talking to me. I just got out of your jail. And that's my fault. Yes, it is. How? I don't work at your jail. I don't work at the jail either. Listen to me. I hear you go complain. What is your birthday? It has nothing to do with my tattoos. Nobody's talking about your tattoos, Miss Shannon. The one out here. And listen, they just want you bar from that building. So, I need your Well, that building needs to realize you are trespassing. I'm not trespassing. Are you going to listen to me? I'm not wearing shoes. I'm not wearing a seat belt. Trying to get it. Hold on. I'm not wearing a seat belt. What is your birthday, Miss Shannon? I can't tell you that. I'm not wearing a seat belt and I'm sitting down. I don't know what you're talking about. I've never met you. You're a stranger. You need to take your clothes off. Maybe I'm dressed. I'm an adult outside smoking a cigarette and you want to harass me. No, I'm harassing you because they told me that you were over there trespassing. Well, I don't care what they're talking about. I don't know. And that's fine with me. Well, then you can go deal with them. Not me. I'm talking to them. I am not the one that called. Well, I don't know how that's happening. How are you talking to them? You got traffic. I have nothing to do with your traffic problem. Do I look like I'm wearing a seat belt? Do I look like I'm wearing a seat belt? Thanks, boy. Seriously. 52. You want to head this way? Uh, excuse me. I'm not wearing a belt. Okay. Well, then y'all can walk over there and complain to that. I was a student at the University of Georgia. I've already complained about the police. Oh, man. You're you're more than welcome to complain whenever you want to. I will. Yes. So, in order to make sure you don't go to jail because I can't tell who you are, I got to figure out who you are somehow that comes back. We got to make sure you don't got some warrant for some crazy crime in Detroit or wherever, right? That you're just giving us some some random name because nothing nothing's coming back on you. Even if even if you were issued a permit, there should still be some kind of a That's my ID. That's my ID. I got it. My Hold on. Ma'am, you're Are you still on speaker? Yeah, that's my B. Ma'am. Hi. I didn't write it wrong. You said September, right? I got it written down. Actually, I'm going to go bring it up. Okay. Um All right. Oh, now it's time to be honest cuz now I'm not in a good mood. Okay. Cuz that's my little sister. She actually has a license. I don't have a license at all. Okay. So, you lied to me in order to try and show that you have a permit. You don't have a license at all. This is who she actually is. And she lied about her middle name. What's the picture that you sent me? The picture that you sent me is your little sister. This is you. Yeah, she lied to us. As the cops move forward with legal action, the driver apologized for her lies, but it was too late. She couldn't fool the officers any longer. My eyes. Yeah. What do you think? I don't know if your mom's still on the phone or not. What do you think? Yeah. Is that This is who she actually is. So, she provided me with and the fake middle names. Her actual name is not not Rosen and it's an ID card. Yeah. Not a DL. Runner. Is there a number on that? Run her by that number just for dispatch. Early name that we found. Oh, sorry. That sounds good. Okay. Yes, sir. I'm sorry. Amanda, why don't you drop that? Please, I swear I'm so sorry. I just I thought Oh, no. Why you lied to me? I wasn't doing this. You weren't lying. I know. I'm so sorry. I won't do it again. You're being cool the whole time. I was talking about everything. I didn't know. I told you right off the rip. Just be chill. I know. I I'm sorry. I was going to show you. Um so please beg you. Oh my god. Can I talk to you? I just did. I'm saying can I talk to him just to talk to her, please? I I swear I won't do this anymore. What side? We'll put her on this side. Oh, you got a good license, right? Please, sir. You have anything in your pocket or anything? No. I don't even think she has pockets. I don't think there's either one, sir. I pants. Is there anything inside your pants or anything like that? Third degree felony when we get to jail. No. Come on, sir. Please. What do you want? Listen. No. Listen. Listen. Okay. Look. Just let me talk for a second. No. Take a seat. We're done. I gave you the benefit of the doubt for 30 minutes. No. Please leave. Oh my god. So why? You lied to me. Listen. Listen. You're not You don't have a valid license. You got an ID card only. You tried to play me like I was silly. You didn't come back. You tried to trick me by having your sister show up as a valid license. I know. That's a crime. You lied to a law enforcement officer, too. On top of the that I was going to be cool with. I didn't. That's crazy. Can you believe that? The officer spoke with the driver's mother, explaining the arrest process in detail and providing information on how to avoid further complications. Does she got any questions? Do you want to talk to me at all? Do you want to talk to one of the sheriffs? He said, how do I put it on speaker? Did that work? There we go. Hello. here. Hello. This is Sheriff's Office, Deputy Root. Yes. Yes, ma'am. So, your your your daughter was pulled over. Um the officer that stopped her could smell on in the car. Neither her friend have uh um cards. So, um your your daughter was giving the wrong name to the deputy that stopped her, was was lying to him about who she was. Um, let me make sure you're good to go. This knows that she doesn't have a driver's license. So, she's been she's been arrested for false name to law enforcement and driving without a license. So, whoever that is has to sign a piece of paper to let you drive that car. So, she has to come here and sign it. Is this Is this your car? This expedition, does it belong to you? Yes, it is. And I know she couldn't have done that, but she's I don't know how we would get her out. And yeah, but it is my turn. have drives right and it's right here. You want to see her come up? Can she get up here? I mean, if she can get here, then we're going to have to do a vehicle liability form because there's no way to even determine through the phone that if if you're able Are you able to come up here? Yeah. Okay. We're at 41 and Port Charlotte Boulevard. We're right in uh Charlotte State Bank and Trust parking lot. And then me coming, what what what do I need to do? Well, we we'll let you take your car instead of towing it is what that's going to do. And my daughter, she's still going to uh she's she's under arrest. She's going to go to the jail. She's going to get booked in. Um depending on her criminal history. She'll probably get a bond right away. She can be bonded out. Um they'll give her a court date for uh for her charges for today. Um and then from there, it'll work its way through the legal system. Will she be able to get out today? More than likely. Um, that's that's a question that's better answered by the jail staff. Um, typically what happens is when you're arrested, you're entitled to a first appearance um in front of a judge to determine probable cause uh for the arrest. Normally those are the next day. Okay. So some offenses people are eligible for a bond without seeing a judge. I don't know if these are those offenses or not. So there is possibility No, you can't talk to her. I'm sorry. There is a possibility that she could be bonded out this afternoon, but there is also a chance that she's going to have to stay overnight and see a judge in the morning and then she could be bonded out in the morning. So, it it'll either be today or tomorrow she'll be able to get out of jail. The woman was charged with giving a false ID and operating a motor vehicle without a license. Thanks for watching.
