[Applause] If you reach, I'm killing you. If you reach, I'm shooting you in the face. Do you understand? This man, Travis Jamal Moss, was in a rush, but he was running from something much bigger. He tried to hide his identity by giving the name Mr. Whitfield and kept quiet about the marijuana on him. But that wasn't the worst of it. It all started on August 8th, 2023 when an officer on routine patrol noticed a vehicle speeding in Valdasta, Georgia. As the officer got closer, the driver picked up speed, almost like a game of cat-and- mouse. Travis, however, decided to play it smart. Instead of making things risky, he pulled over and cooperated with the officer's investigation. [Music] Dispatch, receive. [Music] How are you, sir? I'm pretty good. Yourself? Good, man. You got your license on you? Why you speed up the closer you got to me, man? Nah, I'm really just trying to hurry up. Get down to this museum before it closed in Atlanta. I got you. You got a This your driver's license from the Bahamas? Yeah, this a rental car. Rental card or you got I got Yeah. esport. Is there another one? Another picture of the email or anything that has your Is that your name right there? Gerard. No, my name's Deando. Um, who's Gerard Petty? That's the guy that owns the car. Homes the car. So, so you just you rent it from an actual person. They go through a company. No, they do it at the airport. um Herz, but I think I don't know if he works for Herz, but I I seen him in front of Herz. I just was like, "Yeah, he told me his deal was better than Herz deal." I think he drew up something, but I can call him and ask. No, you good, man. Let me check all this and give me a minute and we'll get you on out of here. Okay, you good, man? Yeah. You know what? Uh you sped up to 93, man. I had it on cruise control. I actually got a video to show I had this on cruise control. Yes, sir. So, probably I don't know, but I had no cruise. Yeah, the closer you got to man, the faster you got. Okay, that's all. So, let me check this, man. We'll get you out. While checking his information, the cop called for backup because he smelled marijuana and wanted to ask more about it. Mr. Whitfield, can I talk to you back here real quick? Yes, sir. So, you got the odor coming from your car. Do you smoke? No. No. I got the car, you know. So, just that. So just step out and I'll talk to you. That's the reason that my sergeant's here. Motor gives me probable cause to do a search of the vehicle. You searching while a minute cuz I I just want every video I see over here, it is be people getting harassed by the police. No, sir. That ain't going to happen. I got a camera here on my chest, one on my car. My sergeant record for my safety, sir. Can I record? Leave your phone in the car. Okay. I just record for my safety cuz I don't really want to get out the vehicle. I know there's no in here at all. I don't even smoke. But let me just record for my seat. Okay. Cuz this is also my first time being Yeah, I'm fine, man. So, you're saying I have to come out the vehicle? Yes, sir. And Sir, am I being arrested? No, sir. I did not say you're being arrested. Am I being detained? Yes, sir. For probable cause search of your vehicle. And you said there's an older vehicle, but I don't smoke at all. Okay. Just step out of the car real quick. You mind if I speak to the sheriff? It's not the sheriff. It's my sergeant. Mind if I talk to you s? Okay. Sorry. I'll be honest here. I'm supposed to I You just saw the map. I don't smoke at all. Now, I don't mind if y'all open all the doors, but I just feel safe in here. There's nothing in this. This is a rental car. Yeah. You got to get out, boss, man. Yes, sir. What? Yes, sir. for you to search the vehicle. But I'm not being arrested and I'm not being detained. I have to get out. Problem call, sir. Bring my phone out. Leave your phone in the car. You're being recorded on our body camera. He's got a body camera just for my safety. charge this bike. I don't want to have to go. Wow. So, I guess I have to get out cuz I don't want any issues. So, I'll just leave your phone. I'll just put it here. All right. So, just step back here, man. Like, can I watch you while you search it? No. So, just step back here real quick. So, you don't smoke? No. If there's anything in there right now, I'm telling you, I do not smoke at all. lacking miles, but note. Now, the people who I just dropped off, the that's the guy who rented me the vehicle. Where did you drop him off at? Um, he he stays in Orlando, Florida. Orlando. Yeah. Where you coming from? Miami. I'm coming from Orlando, Florida. Orlando, Florida. Yeah. And you dropped him off in Orlando. In Orlando, Florida at I met him at Orlando International. I dropped him off from wherever he said he had to go. And I He said that he didn't get to clean the car or put gas. And I said, "Man, don't work." As Travis kept building his madeup story, the police quickly searched him. And of course, Travis had an explanation for everything. Tongue out for me? You got anything in your pockets? No. My uncle. Oh, well, my keys. Your keys? Is that to the car or to your house or? No, these are to my house. But what what I want to say now on camera, in front of my camera, too, is the guy just literally rented me this car like 2 seconds ago. Like, I wasn't the one. I What's that right there? This is just the tobacco that I use. What's that, man? That's Yeah, that's not That's my wife cards. What's in here? That's what I use to smoke in my black and mild. The black and mild wrapper. Yeah, that's that's what goes inside the black and mild like dip. I chew it sometimes, too. Where'd you get the CBD from? The guy at the airport. at the airport. Yeah, he he gave it to me for $30. Don't give me up for me. Let me check your pocket real quick. That's literally it. And then if you test it with the weed thing, the guy said it should come up as CBD. CBD still has a very low concentrate of THC. See, but I don't even notice over here cuz he said as long as you're not smoking weed, you're good. And I said, "Okay, listen. How much can I have?" He said, "You're good to buy these." in the state of Georgia. No marijuana at all. Zero. It's illegal. It's legal. And this is literally my first time here. Like my wife would lose it if she find out like, "Yo, you had like you could look at that. I don't want you in the CBD. You can't afford to go to jail in America, man. Can I check your pulse?" Yeah. 23 seconds. I got to touch you. Is that fine? That's cool. I went to college yet, man. We did all this for football and track and field. So, I had to know the procedure my whole life. You see nothing on my record. Any more what you would call CBD in the car? Nope. Are you nervous? Man, I feel like I'm not going to get to smoke my CBD when I get down there, but it's better than getting a ticket or getting arrested. Your post is elevated, man. A little bit. 122 ft in a minute. And what's it supposed to be? 60 to 90. Yeah, cuz I'm like, damn, bro. Like, never be in trouble. The substance on Travis wasn't the only thing the cops found. A search of the vehicle revealed a box. And let's see what Travis had to say about that. This can still impair you. to drive. Okay. But as you see, I have nothing to roll it or nothing either. I just was going to take it straight down there. When I get down there, I was going to roll it up. So, the ropes that sergeant, my sergeant found, what's in it? Oh, I don't know. You don't know. My documents do. Oh, yeah. I'm throwing all that off the car. Every bit of that that's in the car. You know, I don't know if the guy who rented it to you was drinking it or his passenger. He don't clean He didn't clean the car out when he rented it to you. It just was a steal of a deal, man. $300 for a week. I had the guy at the airport. He told me, "Yeah, he rented a couple people. He seen them before." And I was like, "All right, well, perfect." Cuz Her was trying to charge me like $200 on a deposit. Yeah. And he said like $50 deposit. I was like, "Yeah." I understand, man. Money's fine. told me his insurance was good, everything was good. So I said, "All right, let's do it." So our office is about maybe 5 minutes down the road. He's he's at the office now. You test trash that man. Like if I don't even care. I want to test it now. Okay. And is it see like I don't know to be honest with you. I didn't even look in this bottle. I just Who's the You're the only person in the car though. So, yeah, I just mine for you. But more than likely that's going to come up at CBD, so I shouldn't have to worry about I asked the guy about six, seven times like, "Man, are you sure I can drive with this before I even took it?" I wouldn't run away on it, please. No ticket if you could. There's one right there. They they check if you have any tickets outstanding before you leave. Fair enough. So I don't I don't even want to. It's like, man, I can't even go back there and say I got a ticket for speed. But go back where? Orlando. My my girl. I don't even want to tell her like, baby, I got a ticket for speed. You sped up like I said 93. And it wasn't intentional. I I drive with my toes to see. Yeah. I don't use these are a little heavy. But that I had on cruise control the whole time. What's a little heavy? The the slippers. They're a little heavy. So I take them off. Like as you seen when you came I had them off. I wasn't even I drive with my toes. But I was I had the car wet like you just control it on the wheel and I didn't even think to look at where it was at. A quick test of the unknown substance gave the green light for Travis's arrest, but it wasn't over yet. The officer explained there were still some tests to be done for the DUI investigation. Three stages. Okay. One just right there. Pretty dark purple, man. Right there. Right. Place your hands behind your back for me. Okay. I didn't Please. I didn't know that that was there. I didn't know that was there. Now, don't do that. I didn't know that that was there. Please. Please. Relax, man. Get obstruction in charge. Please, Sergeant. I didn't know that that was there. That was in your pocket? Yeah, but I didn't know that that was there. Like, I really didn't. Like, he told me that if I bought that, it's legal to carry it. I got something to read to you. Okay. How old are you? How old are you? 29. This the implied consent notice for suspects age 21 or over. So, what you going to be charged with today is speeding, possession of less than an ounce, and DUI drugs. Okay. You You have a bond. You can get out of jail. How much is the blood? It's a set bond. Once we get to the jail, they'll be able to tell you. You'll be able to make phone calls, do whatever you need to do. Once Travis found himself in a tough spot, he tried to convince the cops not to take him to jail, but it was too late. Okay. Can I talk to you, Deputy Slaw? What's that? Like, I'd never do this again. I got like this is literally a shock to me and I did know a little bit, but I'm going to be honest with you. I still bought it. Like, he said it was CBD. And I know trust people, man. You can buy CBD from a gas station. I can't tell you what to do. I can't give you legal advice, but I wouldn't buy something from somebody at the airport. One, if you get caught with it at the airport, it's probably a felony cuz you got to deal with the feds up there. But like this will literally do it for me, man. I'll never be able to do anything over here. Just some traffic tickets, man. Like I said, you could even going to jail today, man. You got to go to jail today for impaired driving. All right. So, we're going to step over my car. Go ahead. I can't do anything about that, please. Just to keep my record clean here. Oh, he said he was going to let me at least let her know cuz she'll be worried. Like, can I just let you do all that? I promise. Stop the recording and let them know. Yeah. Have a seat right here. I got I I got your phone in my pocket. I'll let you know. Can I just text her real quick, man? Like, I want you to really understand. She won't know at all. I'm going to let you do all that, man. Let me get some paperwork going. Okay. Okay. Travis was charged with possession of illegal substances and multiple active warrants. Even though Travis was one of the most wanted suspects, he stayed calm and didn't make any reckless moves. But Kquleke simpliss was a different story. On May 29th, 2024, while on patrol in Boston, Massachusetts, police spotted a vehicle without a valid inspection sticker. They activated their cruisers emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop. While one of the officers spoke with Kokaleke, the other started searching the vehicle, which looked suspicious with its torn apart passenger door. [Applause] You know, I'll step back. You all right? Yes. I don't I don't know that. I don't I don't have personal nothing like I know one person said I don't know I just the whole time I'm just hoping that I They arrested him. No, just stand. Are you able to clear that coming? Yes, ma'am. There we go. Stand by. Charlie 431. As soon as the cop gave the signal, Qualiki made a desperate move to escape despite being surrounded by multiple officers. Hey guys, you seriously relax? Tell me. Kyrie, tell the truth. What happened? Tell the truth. What happened? Curry, what happened? What did you come here? What did you do? What did you do? Oh my god. What did he do? What did he do? I'm trying to What did you do? What did he do? Sir. Sir, what did he do? Sir, what did he do? Boy, they'll talk to you. What did you do? Oh my god. So, but you see how it doesn't all the way. You can see it right there without even without even touching it. You sure? You can see it right there without even touching it. Yep. Yep. right there. Pointed right at you. It's pointed right here at Yeah. Actually, there might be two. Oh [Applause] my. You ready? Yeah. Excuse me. You had a gun in my car. Come here, bro. No, no, no. I have a daughter. I can't believe you. I'm going to jail. After detaining Kakule, the officers focused on retrieving the firearm which had been hidden in the glove box. You can see the one. There might be a second one in there. No, it's a push to start. [Music] Somebody give me a hug. Somebody call my DM and tell her I love her. I just got jump. So, he's a registered owner. Hey, what's up? What's going on, man? Yeah, I'm uh in the middle of something right now. Yep. Okay. Um yeah, shoot me a text with it and uh I'll get back to you in a minute. No problem. Okay. Wait, can you get my sprite and just give me a slide, please, bro? Hold on. No keys on anybody. Hey, where are the keys? I'll have them. You can check. I'll have check. It's a push. I saw the key. Sorry. The key. There's a push. If it's a push start, there is a a fob right there. Oh, in here. I already tried angling my camera. Hopefully, you can see it. You can see it through the crowd, but I can see at least one. I can't tell if that's another one off to the side. Okay. You want me to describe the B3 units then or you want them to uh this street's on 11. Whatever you think. Three. I don't care. It doesn't matter. Oh, no. Scale weird. Look like the All right. I'm gonna put this back in. Yeah, it's just the one so far, but we haven't even really looked around. I'm gonna put this back in here for the picture. Kalei was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. While Kakqualei tried to make a bold move right in front of multiple officers, this man attempted something even crazier. On December 14th, 2022, Cody Himenez, a man known to the police, took off running from them with a stolen vehicle in Los Cusus. After a crazy chase, he eventually pulled over. And here's what happened next. With multiple officers surrounding Kotti, he had nowhere to run and had no choice but to face the consequences. Get your hands off. Get your hands off. Hands off now. Don't touch it. If you reach, I'm killing you. If you reach, I'm shooting you in the face. Do you understand? you all right? Are you injured? Get behind him. I see him right there and I he looks right at me just takes off. So I was like, "Yeah, we're going to be breaking off until we got to Aito." Okay. Yeah. I was behind him on Avenue and then I saw him turn on Wyatt. So I hit my lights off and then I just see him on Wyatt. So I'm keeping an eye and I see I see him turning on top of sail. I see him flip a a van. I'm like, "No, we can't find just that." And he hit those cars on his own. Like he took couldn't take corner, I guess, cuz he rolls up on him in between two cars that were parked. So, he pulls up behind him and then I just happened to see his unit. So, I pull up and he was boom, right in the unit. So, I get out and he has a dog and I'm like, "Uh, I was just waiting for him to come towards catch unit." And then he bolted. So, that's when I had my unit, but I had this cuz I was trying to key up. Despite being in a tough spot, Cody was about to have an even worse day when officers found illegal items on him. Cody, do your hair. Come on, man. Yeah. Get up. You don't have to guess you again. You got anything in your pockets going to poke me, prick me or stick me? I didn't know what you guys don't play stupid with me. What did I do? I didn't do nothing at first until I took off, right? got to check you out real quick, too. Okay. How's it going, man? You hurting anyone, man? No. You need any medical attention? Yeah. You going to be all right? Sounds good, man. All right, brother. Nowhere. Arms, legs, everything feeling good? All right, man. Sounds good. Thanks, guys. All right, guys. Yes, sir. All right. Your engine uh spot two. Two. Squat two. Gotcha. in the middle. All right. Okay. We're going to double check you, brother. Make sure you don't have anything else on you. Okay. Is it just this black pair of shorts? You don't have anything else? Nothing in your shoes, bro. Yeah. Is this gel idea? It's on the car. On the white car, bro. Check this real good. got to take you over to the station. Hang on a little bit. Got any questions? After dealing with Cotti, the police spoke with the victims and witnesses to gather information, noting the damage caused by Cody's reckless driving. So, were you headed this way, sir? Yes, I was headed this way. Okay. And what way was the other guy going? Okay. So, I was headed this way. I was on my way to work and I seen him. It was like a white SUV or something like that. He was coming pretty fast. That's what caught my Yeah. From this way from my uh he was coming pretty fast and that's what caught my attention. So he there was another car right there where that one's at. So he got in the left right hand lane and he made a left-hand turn and when I see what he was doing, I showed to my right and then he hit me. He went around my Were you in this l this lane here? The one further that way? Huh? Were you in this lane? I was in this lane. He hit me and then next thing I know he went around this way and two officers follow him. Then there was a third one. Okay. I mean, I just pulled over and I was calling 911, but I I couldn't get a hold of you guys. Okay. We heard it on the radio. All right. Is this Let me hold on. Is this your van? Yes, sir. Okay. Uh it it was hit during the course of a a police pursuit. So, there's somebody fleeing the police and he ended up striking your vehicle. See right there? There's a Tahoe there. Uh if I send you a link to your cell phone, would you be able to upload that? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I'll do that here after I'm done. Okay. Um, do you have I I guess the registration and insurance to it or do you have the registration insurance to it? Any Yeah. Can I get Did you kind of see what took place or Okay. What happened video? Okay. I I see everything and I had video. What did you see when the truck is start coming? So I I hear I hear the like tire spin. Uhhuh. And then I look it up and [ __ ] but the car the white car is going to hit the truck. Okay. So he did the truck the police going back to him but the guy start move back and forth back and forth. Okay. How about how fast was he going when he made this turn? Would you say it's like maybe 35 40? Okay. Yeah. Hey 35 40. All right. And what else? I see what happens after he hits the van. Well, he started like try to to move in. Second cop show up. The second cop show up and get it back and then the front officer uh he catching the dog. Mhm. But he never go know the boat go, you know. Uhhuh. He can have arms or something. So, okay. Maybe they scare Yeah, they scare everybody. Did you see if he hit any of the units in the process? You know what? I think he hit it that front one. Okay. The front one because he start like doing back and forth because the first officer coming right behind to him like a tried to box it. Uhhuh. Yeah. So, I'm pretty sure he hit it and he hit the the the other truck too. The blue one pick up. Yes. Okay. It's right there in the bumper. Oh, he hit the bumper. Yeah, because I see the truck moving. I I be right here like I go to work and also struck the Silverado. The bumper. Yeah. Yeah. I see the move. Oh, is it that dent? [Music] Uh, no. You see? Yeah. Our car is our car. Cody was taken to the hospital for a medical check where the officer addressed his situation. Once he was cleared by medical staff, he was taken to jail. Hi, buddy. You walking? All right. And lift these up a little bit. All right. Walking better. All right. We got to quit this, dude. You know that. Okay. This isn't your first rodeo. I wonder all you're hanging out with or hooked up on dope with. This is what's end up back in jail every single time. Is it worth it? No. If um they ask you if you took anything, just be honest with them. Yeah. We're not we're not looking to charge you for anything on the that side of it, dude. We just just so in case you like overdose or something happens to your body, man, that we can't explain. We'd like to know what what you put in your body, okay? Even if it was just freaking over the counter stuff. But having you, dude, I know your history. Just just freaking be honest. If you took something last night, this morning, whenever, just just tell the doctors in case something happened. Cody was charged with aggravated fleeing on a law enforcement officer, possession of a stolen vehicle, and aggravated assault on a peace officer. On June 20th, 2023, dispatch received multiple 911 calls about a man driving erratically on a highway in Otto County and discharging a firearm at other vehicles. To understand what the officers were dealing with, one of them spoke with the victim to gather evidence about the suspect. [Applause] [Music] Hey, how you doing, sir? Yeah. You had better days, huh? I've never had anything like that. I Oh, my wife did some work in her kitchen and I just thought I'd rent home to see I work I work at the bank here and uh so so I down oh about a/4 mile out of town there was a a little black car and just kind of crazy like so we passed it or let me think about Yes. Or or I I saw the car going south just about a/4 mile out of town and he got over the bridge up here and turned around that yard there and then he came back think we were I was headed south, he was heading north. And then I I looked in my mirror and he he like went through the bar ditch and and then and which which way did he go? Which way was he going? He he went this way. He was going southbound and there's a C I I don't know if he pulled into the there's kind of some sit some uh silo pits up there. I I don't know. It seemed like he was kind of messing around up there, but he's advising that he believes that he he may be by some silo pits that are up ahead. Or he could have gone on up to road JJ and our our neighbors up there. the man needs. I like I said, it's a little it was a little black car, a little black sedan. And what did the driver look like? Well, it looked like a a young kid. I mean, I And I think Did he look white, black, Hispanic? He he looked white. It's going to be a small black sedan with a white male driver. And did you say he look or something? Just crazy. I like it. Okay. And and so so so he he came up from behind me and just over in the other lane and and uh you know I thought well I need to get to my driveway here and boom. Oh, he shot you from back. Yeah. I thought he shot you this way and it came out that window. Oh, he shot me from Oh my gosh. He was aiming for your head. But that but then there's a I don't know if that's I think that's a fresh round right there. Yeah, it is. What the heck? And this is why you were driving? Yeah. As you were driving, he was shooting that [ __ ] Yeah. Said he came up from behind and Okay. So, he came up from behind, shot the back window. We We were both heading south and he was like starting to try to pass me, but he was like just crazy. I I mean I I Is it unlocked? Yes. Okay. And so I take it he shot at you three times. I I'm I'm guessing possibly. I'm guessing one. Well, where did Did that one go out that window then, Scott? Yeah, I think. Yeah. Okay. So So he must have come up beside you and I think and then shot And then boom, out that window. Holy. That'll get your blood pumping. And I don't know if if that's a hole right there in the bed or is that just a piece of glass right there on my That's a It looks like a little hole. Probably maybe the impact of the glass shards maybe. While the first victim barely escaped the suspect, the next victim had an even scarier story to tell. Before I have you, you know, cuz I'm going to have you write everything out again. Oh, yeah. Okay. Yeah. That way we can have everything on record. And I went to Walmart about 10:00 this morning, got my supplies, was headed back, came in through Rocky Ford about 10, I think it was about 10:50 a.m. That's what I've been writing down. got out here on the highway, headed on to County Road 14, and the red truck in front of me, I had just passed County Road 16. Mhm. And the red truck in front of me, it was a real pretty red truck. And I was, "Oh, that's a really pretty red truck." Cuz he'd kind of been following me, going slower through Rock Florida. And then he went ahead and sped up, started going the speed limit. But I noticed after he passed me and I was going had just passed 16, he pulled over in the left hand lane and then had his brake lights on. And so I moved in the left hand lane cuz I could see something was going on ahead of me. Like there was a black vehicle on the wrong side of the road coming towards me. Mhm. Slowly. But I did also notice that the traffic that was coming east on in both lanes had already come to a complete stop. So, I don't know what they saw before everything happened to me. So, anyway, I saw that the red truck was stopping. So, I slowed way down and didn't even get close to the red truck, but saw that black vehicle coming towards me. It was in the median on the driving down the wrong side on Highway 50 going east and it kind of slowly started coming towards me and I'm like, "Oh, he's probably had a vehicle breakdown." Well, why would he have been on the wrong side of the road? I didn't think about that. So later I thought maybe the person had a breakdown and was trying to slowly cuz he started coming towards me like maybe he was going to try to get back on the correct side of the road but then instead started coming straight for me and it was some kind of black. It was an older Jeep something and he said get out of your car and then I saw him pointing a gun at me and I was like my god what do I do? I thought I had my car in reverse. I was going to try to reverse and see if I could pull off or something, but instead I had my car in drive. Um, so I hurried up and just hit the accelerator to try to go past him. And I thought I was probably going to get shot. So I know I was kind of ducking down at the same time and just stepped on the accelerator as hard as I could. And they were both masked up all the way to their face with hats. Thought it was kind of weird. And I kind of figured as soon as I looked at them back, he turned around. I figured these guys are going to run. But then these guys confronted them at the front, like three or four of them. And he pulled out a gun. And then he looked at me. He pulled out the gun. I followed him to get the vehicle description. Okay. And then I I noticed that they came in back through the back. I was going to get the vehicle description with the hood, the black hood, the taho. And then I noticed that their license plate was covered with a plastic bag. And then we took off this way. And what were you saying about border patrol? I'm a border patrol. Okay. Okay.
