All right. Okay. Okay. Hey y'all. So, we're about to watch this one. This one was sent to me a while ago and we're going to go ahead and just check it out. The school alerted the police, I believe, for about this mom and we'll just, you know, I'll have something to say as the video goes. If you don't like interruptions, the link will be in the description box at the end of the live. >> No problem. M. >> Oh, yes they did. Uh-huh. Miss Smith, >> they didn't give me any information. My child showed up. So, child showed up with bruises or something. >> Oh, you miss. >> What we got going on? >> I was trying to reach out to reach. Uh, can I walk to the >> Sure. Let's go. How old is the child? >> 17 years old. >> What we got going on, guy? >> So, thank you, man. No problem. >> Um yeah, came report my mom put bruises on me I guess last night. She came to school this morning and reported to us counsel reported us and um reached out to defax. >> Okay. >> Um she stays in the city of Fab. Um she did tell her that her mom I think went through her phone. >> Okay. >> Seen a a boy at her house. She said it was from the summer, but my mom beat her real bad. She still got bruises on her. Bruise on her. >> We talked to the mom. Got the mom. Sorry. >> No. >> No. >> I think I think she's on the way up here. >> Oh, >> yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Um, but she's in there with the council now. >> Okay. >> The defects of that in about hour tops. >> Last time it came, they came right right 30 minutes before school went out. Yeah, I can't wait that damn long. Yeah. >> What? Do we got to somewhere else for the kid to go? >> She's going Does she have to wait for defects to get here? >> Yeah, she does have to wait. Def grandma called mom and told her a whole complete story that she was she was in office with police and I guess mom think she going to go to jail. >> She probably is where the daughter's going to go. She think the daughter's in trouble. She's right here. How are you doing? Good. >> What we got going on? I'm Sergeant L for Fair. What's going on? [Applause] >> Let me see. What's going on? That's okay. Can you take your Can you take your jacket off? You got a shirt on underneath there? >> Yeah, I got shirt on. >> Okay. I know you probably have told the story three different times, but >> Yeah. >> That's the way police works. Okay. You got to tell it. And when my detective gets here, you'll probably have to tell it again. >> Um, so I got like, you probably see my brother, but I got them right there. And so on my face, I have my edges cover up the one that was right here. So, and then I got like some like right here on my arm and stuff. So, basically what happened was the boy that goes, it's a boy that goes here. I knew it was in fourth grade. He go here. He's in the other class over there. Um, he came to my house over the summer. I didn't do nothing massive. He was just a close friend since fourth grade period, right? So, you know, just chilling, whatever. My mom, he was over this summer like at least like July 12th. Yeah. Over the summer, came over. Mom was at work. So, I have a younger cousin. He's 15 time 16. And they was playing a game. He came in my room, watch YouTube, stuff at lunch. My mama's not here. Fast forward in my phone. He seen she seen that he was in the house with my phone cuz I took a picture of him being at my house. >> Okay. >> So when she seen that, she was just like, "Why did you invite somebody at my house and stuff like that?" So you know, I'm asleep. I wake up light on and she just instantly start hitting me. So I'm just like, "Why are you hitting on me?" Yeah, she's showing me the picture talking about some why is he in my like why did he come to my house and the screen when he looked at the screenshot or whatever the picture picture said August 8th. I took a screenshot of it cuz I sent it to someone. So when she seen it she seen the date it said August 8th but he didn't come over August 8th. It was over summer and she still didn't care and she just she just kept hitting on me and stuff like that and I was trying to explain myself and she was like trespassing cuz like I'm not there. What if I like I could like she told me like what if I shot him? I'm just like >> she wasn't there. She couldn't shoot him anyway. So he came over July when? >> Like around July 12th. >> Okay. I just have minimal input right now. But um as far as a boy being in the house, the date doesn't matter to the mom. It doesn't matter if she saw a screenshot of the day that she saw it or the day it actually happened. To the mom. It doesn't matter there was a boy in her house. um to the extent of this girl's injuries and things like that, I I believe parents have to find a different way. Honestly, you take it this far and if like say the parents say, "I'm doing this because the streets will treat them worse." Well, that's the first place they run to will be the streets and the streets will treat them worse, but they'll wrap it up in a bow first before they realize how bad it is out there. So, that won't that runs them there. That doesn't really help. But also with teenage logic, it doesn't matter the date that you snuck a boy into the house. Parents going to be mad either way. But you got to discipline within the law, the limits of the law. And you have to And I just don't see I'm telling you, I don't see if this woman had a son that the son would have had these bruises had she seen a picture of the girl in the house. And I'm coming from obviously as from a daughter to a mom. I'm coming from that angle. and it the boys just don't get these beatings and punishments and stuff like this like and this is beyond just discipline in my opinion. Um it's many reasons that I do feel like in situations like this one, not all the time, but situations like this one. I feel like sometimes parents use an excuse to take out their anger on the kid. And it don't even always have to be with the thing that they actually supposedly discipline them about. It's just like a anger outlet. And I need them to find healthier ways to let out their anger. So yeah. All right, I'll keep going. >> And he's like down the hall from his class. So I'm just like, why would you say that about somebody I met since fourth grade? And over the summer, me and my dad walked to every township. I'm pretty sure you know what to say. I used to walk I used to stay in that houses over there. >> So how did you get all your marks? What did What time did this happen? >> Like going on 2:00 >> this morning. All right. So she saw the phone picture. She confronted you. >> Yeah. She she felt like I was lying. I mean, I ain't got to lie about somebody I think I trust to come over my house because I go over his house. That's the only reason I go to that neighborhood to go to his house. She know I be over there. So, it's like, why would you flip cuz he's at my house and that's that's my whole thing. I ain't did nothing with that one. So, no. I don't know why she flipped that one, but kind of scared me. So, it was just like she hit she did hit me with a Gucci belt like at least more than 15 times. She punched me in the face. She hit me with a belt. Oh, it's fine. >> Where' she hit you with the belt at? Like on your arms? That's how you got the arms? Or she hit you on the bed or what? >> Okay. Okay. This might sound weird cuz you're a man. So, >> it's okay. I mean, >> when I go to sleep, I like kind of free. I take my underwear. So, when I woke up, I'm like, damn, why is she hitting me? I got clothes on, just my underwear. Just she dragging out the bed like my hair just hitting me. I'm just like, bro, it's a [ __ ] phone. She She just busting my room. No. Hey, how you doing? She's busting around, show me the photo and she's like, why the um last night my damn watch is going off and just hit me in my face. So, you know that's she been doing that. So, >> how'd you get the marks on your arm? All these marks on your arm are fresh. >> Fresh from in the morning. >> She just grabbed you or what? >> Oh, she punching my She punched me so hard. I had to put my nose right back in cuz my nose started. Yeah, she hit me with the belt. She hit me in my face. I >> She hit you with her fist in the face. That's my That's when my nose start bleeding. So, >> where's your dad at? >> My dad. Um, >> she's not in the picture. >> He's a fan of me, but like I don't have a picture, but I know what he looks like, so I don't I can't stay with him. >> He's not. >> But she hit me like the belt across my face. It's something. >> She hit you in the face with the belt? >> Yeah, that [ __ ] did hurt like a few times. >> Is that where this mark on your neck come from? Did she hit you? >> You just take a belt. Just take a like a Gucci blue leather belt and just hit somebody with that. Like her face. We'll step out. If you'll look at her back and see how bad it is. Apparently, come into her room. >> I don't know if y'all see the administrator behind uh the cop right here. The administrator's in the red shirt, I think, and the gray pants. I think she's I think she's holding the little girl. I don't or the girl that was talking, but I'm not sure now cuz I was about to say it, but the lighting looks different. So, now I'm not sure. I just saw someone giving somebody a hug, but I think she's wearing the same outfit that he just asked, "Can you go check her back?" and everything. So, I'm not sure. But, um, obviously, well, I won't say obviously cuz some people, you know, it's acceptable to them, but this is very excessive to me. It's very excessive, especially when like the way I understand it is discipline is supposed to be for the actual thing that happened. But I'm telling you, I feel like parents, some parents be fighting their kids just to have a outlet. Like she straight up was boxing her daughter awake. Like her daughter's sleep and and she's punching her and hitting her with that belt to the point like it's she's bruised up everywhere. Like, you know, I I don't know. I don't like it though. I can tell you that I may not be able to articulate like what a parent to me maybe should or shouldn't do, but I don't like how this happened. Do I think the daughter should have been disciplined? Yeah. If she's sneaking people in the house, yes, but not not this. >> 2 in the morning confronted her cuz she had a boy at the house back in July without mom about it. Mom comes, confronts her about it, pulls her out of the bed, and just starts beating her with the belt. She has a belt. She's got marks on her neck. She said her mom punched her. She's got a little gas right here on the eye. Sound like a normal skunking to me. >> Okay. Mom's here. Apparently, uh, defects has already been contacted. Is this the first time she's ever hit you like this? No. Okay. Do you feel like this is normal punishment? >> I mean, I didn't do nothing. Like, I don't know how to explain that. Like, >> you just had a friend over at the house when your mom wasn't there. >> That's about it. I mean, I went >> You got to have sex. I didn't smoke nothing like that. >> I don't know. >> Okay. She never hit your sister this way. >> How old was your sister? Where your mama at? >> They said she's up front and I don't want to see her cuz I know >> I'm going to have to I think you just walked past. >> I think she did. Um I walked past her when I came in. >> How are you doing? >> I'm good. >> All right. What do we got going on? So, I'll tell you what I know and you can tell me what you know. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, we're here because your daughter Janala >> Janala Excuse me. Can I go back here? >> Yeah, sure. Sure. Wherever you want us to go, we're here for you. So, >> what happened this morning with you and your daughter? >> Nothing happened this morning. This took place last night. >> What time last night? >> So, you know what I'm speaking about. >> I know exactly what you're talking about. >> It took place like 10:30, maybe 11:00. >> Okay, >> that's what time I got. I asked my little girl about a little boy that she had in my house. She like she know what I was talking about. Um, I went to go get my belt and I whooped my child and she was moving in the midst of me whooping her. I'm not a phys I don't beat on my kids. I have another little girl. And she, okay, for those of us that got beat with a belt when we were little or kids or whatever, yes, we going to move. But she also punched her. She She punched her. And I'm I don't I don't know if she did or didn't, but I feel like the belt buckle got involved. I'm not sure about this one for sure. But she was excessive. I'm just going to keep saying that. I just I think that here's the thing. Kids are basically trapped with the adults that they are with until they eventually either hope, you know, grow up or they become runaways and stuff like that. Adults, although life is not fair, like obviously she the father is not really in the picture. The daughter said her her dad's a felon and stuff like that. She knows what he looks like, but that obviously means he's not involved in her life. I don't like that all the weight is just on the mom, but adults have a choice in trying to seek help and assistance. Um, and with and with us now from the 2000s on with the internet, there's there's resources even if you can't afford like maybe something under like even if you can't afford to have insurance, there's access to information and coping mechanisms and uh focus groups that do it. Just like Alcoholics Anonymous, there's free groups to go to. You have to find your outlet because it can't be that the kid that's trapped in your decisions gets the brunt of life also beating you up. That's not fair. The kids are trapped until they're they can get out the house or some just choose that they can't wait that long and they run away. So whatever it is that's hard for her in life, I hear it. And she has to be the adult and seek help. You can't do this to a child. >> She's in the ninth grade. eighth grade. I'm sorry. I don't I'm barely put my hands on my kids. Okay. >> Okay. This is our first time ever going through this. >> How many times did you strike your daughter? >> About five times with the belt. I never physically put my hand on my child that time. >> Okay. What were you hitting her with? >> A belt. >> Like what kind of belt? >> Uh >> like >> it's a Gucc blue. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, how did she get marks on her face? >> That's what I just said. When I was whooping her, she was moving. I I guess the bell had probably hit her face, but I never I never in my life physically hit none of my kids. >> Okay. >> So, >> I'm not one of them parents who just, like I said, they barely get a whooping. This was my first time. >> You didn't have to You didn't have to swing the metal when you're in the >> All right. She says she doesn't physically hit her kids. said she barely gets a whooping. Remember the daughter said this is not the first time. In fact, when the cop asked her, "Was this the first time your mom's done this to you?" She she didn't even say yes or no. She said, "I didn't even do what she thought I did." Um but then he asked again and basically she was like, you know, "No, this is not the first time." Um and I think he asked, "Has it always been that bad?" And I don't remember what her answer was. But um I am I'm sorry where I'm at. I feel like the mom's tears are a few things. frustrated that her daughter snuck a boy in the house. I'll acknowledge that, but also that she now has to sit here and answer questions to strangers about what she did to her daughter. And I feel like there's possibly some regret there. Um, and the only reason I'm going to and when y'all see I'll try to remember to come back to this when we get to the end because there's another part that I feel is a little bit about performance and hopefully I'll remember to explain why I feel like a little bit of his is performance as well. we have to get to the end first to get to that point. Um, but this is not the first time. And when you come out like that, it's just like to me domest well that's this is domestic violence in a way, but um when people are in an abusive partnership relationship and the violence escalates, I feel like you get certain with a com you get comfortable with a certain level of violence and then you increase and I feel like this was one of the times the daughter just couldn't take it anymore and she alerted the school and stuff like that. No, I did not do nothing like that. Okay. >> No, not at all. >> Did you see your daughter when she left for school this morning? >> No, because she she walked out so fast when I got out. It's like she had an attitude from what happened last night. So, she left. >> She was probably angry, scared, sad, all the things. Yeah, I'm sure she didn't want to see you after being woken out of her sleep being beaten up. Okay. >> So, she told us this happened around 2:00 this morning. Anything happened? Anything happened about 2 this morning? >> No, she's lying to you guys. She can't believe everything a child say. Like I said, sir, >> that's why we're talking to you. >> I'm not one of them parents. We can call my other little my other little girl. We can call my sister. We can call anybody in my family. I do not whoop my kids, okay, at all. Because I used to get whoopers and stuff like that. So, I'm not too fond of that, >> right? >> But for her to bring a little boy in my house, I was mad. And I did get a belt and whooped her. I did do that. >> She She claims that you punched her in the face. Okay. And she does have swelling to her face. >> She said >> and also a gash on her eye. >> Okay. >> Yes. She also has marks on her neck. >> I never once hit my child with my hands. My other daughter was in the house. I never physically hit my child. And if she told you that, she told you a lie. >> Some of the marks are obvious nail mark. >> So, she's staying adamant about not using her fists, her hands on her daughter, but if the belt did do 100% of the damage, it still was too much. Like, it's still right back in the realm of, you know, outside of the law of discipline to me. Even if she didn't use her hands, >> they're not belt mark on the on the face. >> Nail mark. >> So she must she must have did that. >> Well, they just said nail marks, y'all. Huh? Okay. Well, that goes back to hands being used >> when she left this morning. When my child went to bed last night, she did not have no nail marks in her face. how she got those. >> I would I could not tell you guys that. >> When she went to bed last night, my child did not have no nail marks. Cuz if I'm hitting her with a belt, where the hell will my nails come in at? >> I agree. >> Like, let's be clear here. >> I'm going to say this. If the mom adamantly believes that she did not her nails didn't touch her and she didn't punch her, I feel like the mom blacked out in rage cuz cuz the the daughter if she got nail marks the hands were used and since she was closed fist punching her which cuz the daughter kept saying punched her. Um I think she might not have realized her nails got graced her daughter. Um, but I think she used belt and hands. >> Like if I'm if I'm swinging my belt, [ __ ] cuz you're a little distance. I'm right here. I'm swinging hitting my belt. Where how do my hands physically touches your face? >> That's why we're talking to you. >> Okay. >> Um because >> and if you if you bring my child in here, she would tell you probably a whole different story. >> She doesn't she doesn't want to be around you right now. Okay. >> Okay. That's for her, too. But she don't have nowhere else to go. >> So, did the other child? >> And that's what sucks. The one that got the brunt of the violence, that's on the receiving end of the violence doesn't have anywhere to go. And that sucks. It It sucks so much to me when when kids are receiving it cuz adults, you know, it takes a long time for a domestic violence person, abuse uh victim to leave a partnership. The kids don't even have that kind of choice. They just sit there and then they just have to somehow find a way to cope through the trauma and feel like this is normal and everything else and they're still stuck there. Sometimes, you know, interventions happen, but even then the system isn't very kind to children. You're a rock in a hard place a lot of times. But to say, "Well, she don't have nowhere else to go." And the way she did she beat on that girl is crazy to me. >> No. When she seen that her sister was getting a whooping, she laid back down. >> Okay. So, it was just you and your oldest daughter that >> Yeah. When her daughter was when she seen that her was getting a whoop, she just laid back down. I'm too old for that. I tried nothing but 17 years old. I would never occasionally physically hit my child. I would never do that a day in my life. Put my physically hands on my child because I'm not into hitting on my kids. Like I said, she did something that made >> when the fight start over. Like what argument, sir? I went and got my belt and I start hitting her with it. I never got >> What did she do? What did she do to get you so upset? >> She a boy her father was at work. >> When was this? >> A couple days ago, but I'm just now finding out about it yesterday. >> Okay. So, she had a boy in your house while there. >> Yes, she's still here. What do you think? >> Well, I still have to talk to the mom in person, too. Um, >> and I did see Mark like a little bit right here. So, there will be investigation and um I will be talking to mom to see if she can go somewhere else for the time being um and go from there cuz I do not >> Mom said that she doesn't have anywhere else to go, but she said something about her aunt. Have we contacted that yet? Mm-m. Um, just after I get done talking to her, I'm going to ask them all for other family members where they like stay for the time giving to this investigation. >> Um, yeah, there are marks and Mrs. President. So, she >> It's a little bit more than just punishment to you. >> Yeah. >> So, mom's story is she was spanking her and she was moving around. >> What? >> Huh? But what item did she? They said the same item. They both said a leather belt. Blue Gucci leather belt. And what she said. >> Yeah. Well, that's what she told us. She said, "Mom, she said with her what she told us. Said the same thing she told you." Mhm. >> Okay. >> So, she hadn't really changed her stories. Same thing she told them. Same thing she told me. Same thing she told me. Mom was she started she I know people can bring on the water works at the drop of the dime so I don't too much trust tears 7 years I've been doing this whole body >> yeah I'm unfazed by your tears but she was like I came in confront her I'm trying to spank her and then she just like starts moving around >> I know when I was getting spankings I would move around but you just keep whailing on a freaking job like that. That's That's different. I mean, she's got some pretty substantial wealth on her. >> I don't know that it's enough for an arrest. >> Did she show you any marks on her back? Cuz I >> No, I didn't make her take her off though. That's pretty substantial marks to make her in your face. >> You punch yourself in the face. >> I need the salt. Come on. >> Yeah. Right. >> Yeah. Right. Enough to swell it. Make more extreme right here. All right. So, what time did this really happen? Okay. >> One, like I'm telling you, like I woke I'm just like, "What? Why is the lights on?" Like, >> what time does your mom get home? Typically, >> she got home at like around 12 something. So, I don't even know if she went through my phone. Like, usually she'll she'll go through my phone because like she got blocked by somebody on Instagram, but I only think she go through my camera cuz she never do stuff like that or my messages. I want to point this out because um did you hear the daughter just say the mom would use her phone sometimes to go to people's Instagram because the mom would get blocked by people on Instagram. So the mom used her daughter's phone so she could still see people's Instagram accounts. That speaks to the level of maturity that the mom does not have in my opinion. And then I also think she's either in denial or she's consciously lying about what she um how she beat her daughter up. She's either in denial about how much violence she actually used or she's just straight up lying. Um but yeah, so I just wanted to point out that level of immaturity in the mom that she uses her daughter's phone to access people's Instagram accounts that have blocked her. So, do you have like a time when you're supposed to put your phone up or do >> She's just going to start doing that. That's the thing. Like, I'm like, why would you start, you know? >> So, basically, you put your phone up at what time when you get home. >> When I go home, she's she do this thing where she just take my phone until like the sunset go down and give it back before 10:30 cuz that's when I supposedly supposed to be sleep. So she did that and then like all I can remember just waking up getting hit. >> Is it fair to say you've been busted before? That's why she does this. >> Yes. >> Yeah. So they don't need that. Okay. >> Which is okay. Kids are going to be kids. It's all right. >> Hey, you want to talk to her with us out or in the middle? >> I'm so I'm a parent that just got give me a phone. I'm more so just give me the phone and I'll leave it alone. You give me your phone. Okay. Touch. I said you're not going to get up so we can be on the same page. I don't want you to just think I'm coming in here racking just hitting you. I made sure when she woke up, we had a conversation. I said, "Janada, did you have someone in my house?" She repeatedly told me no. Okay. I waited a minute to make sure she was fully awake cuz I know how somebody can be when they sleep. And when I felt like she was aware of what we was talking about and she start responding to me, I hit her with the belt. >> Was it a certain place that you >> And the way that the daughter is saying it, she woke up to being beat. She just that's how she was woken up is is being beat on. >> Aiming for her or >> I was hearing her legs, but she got the moving. So that probably explains why the bruises is everywhere else. But my parenting skills is good. But once something don't go in CH way, it can go that in their eyes and go down the hill. My sister drive all the way up here to get Janala. How Jan's going to go to school tomorrow? Janala also have to go to work tomorrow. >> Janala has a a regular program life. Okay. Nothing's going to happen to Janata at my house. Nothing at all. >> Well, the evidence is that something's already happened to her. And I also heard her say that. So, the mom will come in from work 10:30 p.m. and would keep her phone, which now you just don't let your teenager have a phone, you know, until daylight hours. Fine. Not saying nothing about that. But the fact that the daughter knows that she has her phone because she's going through other people's Instagram account she was blocked from for hours cuz that's unlike if you keeping the phone for hours and that's your main purpose then that's what you're doing to me. You just snooping for hours until it's time for you to go to bed and her to wake up. Um, I feel like there's probably aspects that she may be teaching her daughter, you know, some things, right? Cuz, uh, but I do feel like she does not acknowledge the level of violence she uses and and puts it under the guise of discipline. >> Like I said, I do not beat my kids in no shape, form, or fashion. I just was pissed off because it's like any other mother. If you had work all day, you have a good boy in my house. You don't know what's in my house. You don't know what goes on in my house. So for you to have somebody in my house that you probably really don't know that you your safety that messes with your safety, someone to come back in there. >> Um my thing too is uh do they advise parents I would think this is a reasonable piece of advice. Do they advise parents do not discipline your kids while you're pissed off? Because then you may take it too far because I also think that's the issue. Again, a anger outlet being your kids is not the way to go. So, I think that you should not be using basically a weapon, your hands as fists or a belt while you're actually still angry. Like that's what else did you No, I don't like that. Oh, and they're still in the um school. Okay, Aunt Netty, answer the question. Okay, >> I'm not I do not physically put my hands on my kids. >> My main concern is her face. It does have to swell and a mark on her face. >> Okay. >> Do you think you hit her in the face with the belt? >> I probably did. I did not put my hands physically on my chest. >> Her belt marks on her arms don't quite look like her face. >> Okay. So, were y'all like tussling or >> No, she just kept moving. We weren't touching. >> You never transcribed her? >> No, I never once put my hands physically on my child. I did not do that. >> She has some pretty substantial wel on her body. >> I understand the belt is thick. It's not a small belt. It's not one of those small little belts and it got the little G prints on. It's not a small belt. It's not a little baby belt. It's not No, it's thick leather. So in this case, there has to be a physical separation. >> Oh, 100%. Yep. >> So we got to find a place. >> What it got to be a separation for just >> it's domestic violence. >> Okay, we're going towards the end of the video where I can now tell you this is why I believe some of the mom's tears is performance. It's believe me, believe me, tears, tears. The cop, you see the cops aren't flowing the way you're flowing. Now it's, you know, she straightens up. She gets real clear real fast. Whereas like, and I'm not saying tears straight through is enough, but I'm saying this one is just one of those it's obvious performance to me in my opinion. It's it's regret possibly in there. But I do think that she's trying to get sympathy from the cops who that one cop said he's not moved by tears, so it ain't going to do nothing for him anyway. But this is where I was thinking like ah it's it's it's looking a little performative on top of everything else. And the fact that she can't This is the other thing. This is scary. This is the other thing. Let's say that you do have a parent that one time one time they let their anger get the best of them and this is what happened. I feel like a parent can be rehabilitated and not do this again. But the fact that you can't even acknowledge and you're like why she have to be physically separated from me? She got things to do. She still got to go to work. Blah blah blah. your daughter has bruises and a cut under her eye and her face is swelling. The fact that you're not letting that sink in means that you are I think this is not your first time and you will do it in the future. That's what it feels like. This is She's triggering the heck out of me >> this point. >> How is it domestic violence? >> Because she's your daughter. >> Nobody called and said this was a domestic violence. We're not still fighting. It's not ongoing fight. >> It's not, but mother and daughter, son. >> Yeah, we're not fighting right now. >> So, you're two people that are related to each other as domestic. >> Okay. >> And the incident occurred at your house, which is why we're here cuz you live in February. >> Mhm. >> It was discovered by the school police, which is why we're involved. >> Okay. It's a whole new day. How long do you supposed to be separated domestic violence? What if somebody not saying a case before with my husband? >> So, and they let us be separated for like a couple hours. That's union city. So, I'm just trying to say how long do she need to be separated cuz this is going to mess up her going to school, which is tomorrow, and she have to go to work tomorrow. So, if she don't go to work tomorrow, she get fired and what? Like there's a lot there's a lot at stake here for >> we have to >> Okay. Well, either they got stricter since you were the victim of domestic violence, which again I think you should understand what domestic violence is if you have unfortunately been a victim. Also, she is a vulnerable minor. So maybe the time needs to be longer because she can't hop in the car, drive away, and go stay somewhere on her own. So maybe that's why y'all are separated longer than a couple of hours. I don't know. But just because they didn't give you enough time to be separated from your abusive ex doesn't mean that she shouldn't be allotted the time that she needs to be separated from you and your abuse. >> We her safety is our paramount main concern. >> But ain't nothing going to happen to Janala at home. >> Okay. Well, >> nothing's going to happen. >> We can't chance that. Does that make sense? >> What you mean you can't chance that? >> I mean cuz Okay. She don't go home tomorrow. She go home the next day. That's a chance. So what do make >> just imagine that she is a man talking like this about either beating his daughter or a man that is being told he needs to be separated from his partner for a while. Imagine the same mannerisms, the same language, same conversation and this she sounds like she's going to continue to abuse this girl. >> Clear. And you also have another entity involved. You have the state of Georgia, which is a defax that's here. >> Yeah, >> correct. >> Okay. They they place trout children. >> Okay. I understand what you're saying. >> We're just trying to >> do the best for both of y'all. Okay. >> That's not the best for putting my child in a defense home for a day. That's not the best for nobody. >> Well, we didn't say it was going to be for a day. I don't speak for them. Have their placement. What's going on till their investigation? I don't I don't speak for how they work. Okay. >> We don't we don't have any involvement in how >> it was a little bit more than just regular spanking. Okay. She has some substantial wealth above. >> Yeah. You keep saying that, sir. I understand. You keep saying that. I just keep telling you what is a belt and you just trying to blow the picture up as it's something else. But I understand what you're saying. Okay. Okay. >> I get the picture. >> I get it. >> But we're not going to blow it up. Make it seem like I'm beating about town. That's how that's how yall trying to paint the picture and that ain't what happened. >> I didn't I didn't say you were trying to a child. >> But if a a woman and a man are arguing, but I got to forget everything you said before then because that mean you really don't mean what you say. What? >> No. What I'm saying is I'm about to give you a different circumstance. And >> so say a woman and a man are arguing, >> okay? and they one of them strikes the other one, right? >> So they're both gonna have different sides in the story. >> Okay. >> So then we have to determine based on the evidence so we can prove which is somebody's going to have physical marks. Okay. Which your daughter has. >> Correct. >> And then we have to determine who is telling the truth. What makes more sense. >> Okay. >> Okay. And her marks do not look like a belt mark. Okay. And she is saying that she >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> She told she told us exactly what you said. >> Okay. >> But she also said that you punched her in the face. >> Okay. Now that's a lie. If I push her in the face with my hands be swollen. >> Not necessarily. >> They skinny enough to be I got into enough fights to know if I push somebody in the face my hands will be swollen. >> Not necessarily. Mean you hit it once. >> Little. If you hit it once and it wouldn't necessarily mean if I hit if I punch somebody in the face >> something would be wrong or my hands would be swollen somewhere something to be hurt or fragile on my face. >> Yes. If you doing a full punch to make somebody have a bruise on their face. Yes. Necessarily. I got to enough fights to know this. If you punch somebody, something on your fingers is going to be hurting. I did this numerous of times. So I know I had a sleeve put on my finger from punching somebody. My hand been my finger been out of you know. So if I punched her as I said I had punched her and she has a bruise on her face something would be wrong. >> Now she's starting to get upset. >> I'm trying to get her to that point where she like that was since um there is present is investigation. So, I have to put a safety plan in and I have to have a safety support person. So, she has to come up with somebody that's willing to comply with her. So, um >> she doesn't have anybody. Do we all have like housing or >> doesn't seem very remorseful at all? >> No. And that's the thing on that. Um however, >> I mean they want her face. It's not from the building. And earlier she >> earlier she told us she was like she could have did that to herself. She's not going to do that to herself. >> Yeah. But she saying to me the bill hit her as she was moving around. But when I her she said she was punching her and using the belt. So that's what I'm getting from it. However, it's automatically going to be tracked to investigation and it's more likely going to be substantiated um because there's present on the child. Um and I'm going to ask her for some services cuz she needs a point of fitness. And I'm going to talk about cuz she's not even though she said she use physical discipline, I'm going to make sure I put in there that she did. >> Mhm. Cuz usually like if yall don't press charges, we have to go a different route as far as like still complying with her because she's still the legal guardian and she still can like make decisions whether she can or cannot. So even if we have a sister that she asked for and she denies, there's nothing like we can really do. Ellie's there's charges that's being made that we have to force her into like doing that. But if there's if yall don't see any way to charge her, then we have to like work with her as far as like going to the safety thing counsel. >> She definitely is battery FBA all day. >> She struck her in the face. I mean, it's it's no different than a husband and a wife. >> Yeah. >> So, if the husband says that my wife was punching me and I see Mark's punching, >> it's the case regardless because there's more than the child is disclosing that she did punch her in here. So it is never >> the mom said that she's not computer. She said she's already talked to her. Does anybody else talk to the >> but they spoke to the aunt on the phone at the ent >> where the sister is going to stay. >> Okay. So they already came to conclusion and haven't talked to the mom. >> Okay. Okay. >> So I'm telling you what they're just telling me right there cuz what they've been talking from this morning. [Applause] >> Unfortunately, we are not done with you. >> They're done with you. >> You don't seem like a bad mom. Okay. >> Okay. >> This got out of hand. It did. >> Okay. >> Uhhuh. >> So, what we're going to do is we're going to put this to a judge. Okay. >> To the judge? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> So, at this time, I'm going to take you into the custody and we're going to take you out of here. We're going to go back to the PD. I got some paperwork I got to do. And >> I I got to work. So, how take me to custody. I just sat up there and told y >> Yeah. So, we'll deal with work later. Okay. If I got a phone, we can make a phone call and you can let them know that you're not going to make it today. >> No, but why you taking me again? >> Okay. >> For right now, it's it's battery. Okay. It's a family violence. >> Basically, we have what's called probable cause. Okay. Me and him think I me and you just had a good conversation, right? We don't think you're a bad I don't think you're a bad person. It seems like I said I think you're trying to be a good mom and you care about your child. We don't think anything bad about you, but it's called protocol. So this we have >> okay but I can't go with y'all because I have to get my child from school like this this is inconvenient my whole so you can write never just took me to jail >> by law when it comes to family violence we have to when we have probable calls we required by the state of Georgia to make an arrest >> or a citation >> not a citation >> we can't do that >> not in this not in this incident they're making arrangements they've already contacted your sister your sister's coming to gate the both children. She'll be here and she said >> how this became battery >> the visible marks. >> The visible marks battery instead of children by law. Like I said, it's family under the family violence. >> This is past this is pass just parental discipline. >> Okay. >> We don't turn in guilt. We just have to have probable cause for an arrest. So, >> no, >> you got So, you you got to take it up to the judge. >> Okay. cuz I'm going to with y'all. I'm going to do >> County Jail is where you're going to go. >> Okay. >> Yes. So, I got to do some paperwork. We'll get you down there and get you out of there as fast as we can. We'll get you to the jail. Okay. We're going to try to get you out of here as discreetly as possible. They still in class. >> So, how you going to tell? >> So, the second thing is you're parked in the roundabout. Do you have your keys? >> Where are you parked at? >> In the parking lot. >> What color car you drive? >> A white Focus. focus. Okay. >> Okay. All right. >> You're in the parking lot. You're It's in Okay. >> You are good. She's not in the way. >> Yeah, that's fine. If it's a wire focus, >> that's not the right one. Okay. >> Then that's that should be good. >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to jail. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Like I said, we don't >> for the rest of the week. >> We don't believe that you're a bad person. Okay. We don't determine any of that. >> Speak to the judge and determine. >> Yeah. But that's what I'm saying. And that's inconvenient. So my job is at state for >> you would be allowed to. >> So if I didn't come here, y'all weren going to call y'all was going to lock me up. >> This don't make sense. If I didn't have been the same outcome, the same outcome. >> If I wasn't present, >> you would have we would have still took the case to the judge and more than likely they would have signed warrants for your arrest and then you would have >> No, I would have just came to the and paid whatever I needed to pay. >> Domestic violence is notation down the road. Domestic violence is when you fight and somebody else fight with you. That's her side of the story. This wasn't this wasn't domestic violence. >> Okay, that's her side of the story. >> Relationship is domestic. That's mom daughter is domestic. >> It's family violence. >> It was we didn't fight each other though. >> Okay. Well, that's what >> right? y'all didn't fight each other because notice the daughter doesn't I mean the mom doesn't have any retaliation type wounds on her but it's domestic violence because you are the one that inflicted violence on someone that you have a domestic relationship with. It is not mutual combat. It is domestic violence like you harmed her. I she she has a a lot that she's gonna have to get better at with comprehending the law, with coping with her anger, a lot of things. >> Not to talk to the judge. >> No, that's what you're saying. A domestic violent is though. >> That's that's the incident I gave you earlier, right? The reference. She's saying that you hit her. Okay. >> That's her allegations against you. >> She has puffiness around her eye and a scratch on her eye that would resemble someone striking. If I never came here, y'all wouldn't lock me up to that. >> I would have a warrant. Correct. I understand that. >> It would be the same. It would be the same outcome later. >> Oh, it's domestic violence. So, how can you call domestic violence if it's words against each other? How can y'all say this domestic violence? >> Words. There's physical injuries to your daughter, man. >> Okay, I'm ready. Oh my god. >> You don't got to put them on me. >> I have to. We're going to Nobody's outside. You're going to be discreet taken out the door so nobody will see you. Okay. >> The fact that she doesn't understand is the scariest part to me because if you can't even come to where you understand, there's there's little hope for change later and for things to get better for her kids. So very scary. Not not cuz that's the simple part to understand. Let me get your property. >> Hey everyone, it's Trent, prior deputy sheriff. >> Okay, I'll put the link in the description. Um, he does talk about this. I he when I had seen him a little earlier, he was talking about the weight of the belt and stuff like that. So, I will link the description the video in the description box so y'all can watch him if you want to see his commentary. But that's the end of the video for us over here. Um, let me know your thoughts. But this was um, and I'm going to tell you now cuz y'all y'all send me a lot of the ones where the parents are to me taking it too far with the kids. So, there's it's rare. I've gotten videos where I'm on the parents side. There's videos I've seen where I'm on the parents side, but they also weren't, you know, beating up their child. Um, so yeah. So, yeah. Let me know what y'all think. I just I'm going to be saying the same thing. And these type of parents are very triggering to me. But all right, I will talk to y'all later. Hope you have a great evening. See you soon. Bye.
